הִנְנִיbehold-Iמוֹדִיעַmaking-knownאֶתְכֶםyouגֹּדֶלthe-greatness-ofהַקְרָבthe-battleשֶׁלִּיwhich-belongs to-meבַּעַדְכֶםfor-youוּבְעַדand-forאַנְשֵׁיthe-men-ofלוּדְקְיָאLaodiceaוּבְעַדand-forכֹּלallאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־רָאוּnot-sawאֶת־פָּנַיmy-faceבַּבָּשָׂר׃in-the-flesh
For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

לְמַעַןin-order-thatיְנֻחֲמוּmight-be-comfortedלִבּוֹתָםtheir-heartsוְנִקְשְׁרוּbeing-knit-togetherיַחַדtogetherבְּאַהֲבָהin-loveוּלְכׇל־עשֶׁרand-to-all-riches-ofדַּעַתtrue-knowledgeנְכוֹנָהfullלְהָבִיןto-the-acknowledgement-ofוּלְהַשְׂכִּילand-to-understandסוֹדthe-mystery-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godאָבִינוּour-fatherוְסוֹדand-the secret ofהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah
That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

אֲשֶׁרwhichגְּנוּזִיםare-hidבּוֹin-himכׇּל־אֹצְרוֹתall-the treasures ofהַחׇכְמָהthe-wisdomוְהַדָּעַת׃and-the-knowledge
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

וְזֹאתand-thisאֹמֵרsayאֲנִיIלָכֶםto-youלְמַעַןin-order-thatאֲשֶׁר־לֹאwhose-notיַטְעֶהshould-beguileאֶתְכֶםyouאִישׁa-manבְּשִׂפְתֵיon-the lips ofחֲלָקוֹת׃flattering-things
And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

כִּיbecauseגַּם־אִםthoughבִּבְשָׂרִיin-flesh-myאֲנִיIרָחוֹקfarמִכֶּםfrom-youהִנֵּהbeholdבְרוּחִיin-my-spiritאֲנִיIאֶצְלְכֶםwith-youוְאֶשְׂמַחjoyingבִּרְאֹתִיwhen-I-beholdאֶת־מַעֲמַדְכֶםyour-orderוְתֹקֶףand-the-stedfastness-ofאֱמוּנַתְכֶםyour-faithבַּמָּשִׁיחַ׃in-the-Messiah
For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

לָכֵןthereforeכַּאֲשֶׁרAsקִבַּלְתֶּםreceivedאֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahאֵת־יֵשׁוּעַJesusאֲדֹנֵינוּour-Lordכֵּןthusגַּם־הִתְהַלְּכוּso-walkבוֹ׃in-him
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

מַשְׁרִישִׁיםrootedוְנִבְנִיםand-built-upבּוֹin-himוְקַיָּמִיםand-stablishedבָּאֱמוּנָהin-the-faithכַּאֲשֶׁרasלֻמַּדְתֶּםhave-been-taughtוּמַרְבִּיםand-aboundingבְּתוֹדָהwith-thanksgivingבָּהּ׃therein
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

הִזָּהֲרוּbewareפֶּן־יוֹלִיךְlest-any-spoilאֶתְכֶםyouאִישׁa-manשׁוֹלָלas-preyבְּפִילֹסוֹפְיָהin-philosophyוּבְמַדּוּחֵיand-vain-deceitשָׁוְאof-falsehoodלְפִיafterקַבָּלַתthe-tradition-ofבְּנֵיthe-sons-ofהָאָדָםthe-manוְתִקּוּנֵיand-the-rudiments-ofהָעוֹלָםthe-worldוְלֹאand-notעַל־פִּיaccording-toהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

כִּיbecauseבוֹin-himבְּגוּפוֹbodilyשֹׁכֵןdwellethכׇּל־מְלֹאall-fullness-ofהָאֱלָהוּתthe-divinityוּבוֹand-in-Himאַתֶּםyou-areנִמְלָאִים׃are-complete
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

אֲשֶׁרwhichהוּאheרֹאשׁthe-head-ofכׇּל־שְׂרָרָהall-authorityוְשׇׁלְטָן׃and-dominion
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
- 11
וּבוֹand-in-Himגַם־נִמַּלְתֶּםalso-you-are-circumcisedמִילָהwith-a-circumcisionשֶׁלּאthat-is-notבְיָדָיִםwith-handsבְּהַפְשָׁטַתin-the-putting-offגּוּףbody-ofהַבָּשָׂרthe-fleshהַחוֹטֵאsinfulהִיאwhich-isמִילַתthe-circumcision-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃the-Messiah
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

כִּיbecauseנִקְבַּרְתֶּםyou-were-buriedאִתּוֹwith-himבַּטְּבִילָהin-the-baptismאַף־קַמְתֶּםyea-you-are-risenאִתּוֹwith-himבַּתְּחִיָּהin-the-resurrectionעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofהָאֱמוּנָהthe-faithבִּגְבוּרַתby-the-power-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodאֲשֶׁרwhichהֱעִירוֹraised-himמִן־הַמֵּתִים׃from-the-dead
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

גַּם־אֶתְכֶםalso-youהַמֵּתִיםdeadבַּפְּשָׁעִיםin-the-transgressionsוּבְעׇרְלַתand-in-the foreskin ofבְּשַׂרְכֶםflesh-yourהֶחֱיָהhath-he-quickenedאִתּוֹwith-himבִּסְלֹחַhaving-forgivenלָכֶםto-youאֶת־כׇּל־פִּשְׁעֵיכֶם׃all-your-trespasses
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

וַיִּמְחַקand-He-blotted-outאֶת־הַשְּׁטָרthe-handwritingהַמֵּעִידwhich-was-againstבָּנוּin-usבְּחֻקֹּתָיוin-statutes-itsוַיִּשָׂאֵהוּand-took-itמִתּוֹכֵנוּfrom-our-midstוַיִּתְקָעֵהוּand-nailed-itבַּצְּלוּב׃to-the-cross
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

וַיַּפְשֵׁטand-having-spoiledאֶת־הַשָׂרִיםprincipalitiesוְהַשַּׁלִּיטִיםand-the-powersוַיִּתְּנֵםand-madeלְרַאֲוָהa-shewבָּםof-themרַבִּיםopenlyוַיּוֹלִיכֵםtriumphing-over-themבּוֹin-itשֶׁבִי׃in-triumph
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

עַל־כֵּןthereforeלֹא־יָדִיןlet-no-man-judgeאִישׁa-manאֶתְכֶםyouעַל־דְּבַרupon-the-word-ofמַאֲכׇלmeatוּמַשְׁקֶהor-of-drinkאוֹ־עַלor-in-respect-ofמוֹעֲדִיםtimesוְרָאשֵׁיand-the-heads-ofחֳדָשִׁיםmonthsוְשַׁבָּתוֹת׃and-sabbaths
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

אֲשֶׁרwhichהֵםtheyצֵלis-a-shadow-ofהַדְּבָרִיםthe-thingsהָעֲתִידִיםto-comeלָבֹאto-comeוְגוּפָםbut-the-bodyהוּאisבַמָּשִׁיחַ׃of-Christ
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

אַל־תִּתְּנוּlet-noלְאִישׁmanלְהַאֲבִידbeguile-ofשְׂכַרְכֶםyour-rewardעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofשִׁפְלוּתthe-depths-ofרוּחַthe-spirit-ofוַעֲבוֹדַתand-worshipping-ofמַלְאָכִיםangelsוְהוּאand-heמְהַלֵּךְintruding-intoבִּדְבָרִיםwith-thingsאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹאnotרָאוּhe-hath-seenעֵינָיוhis-eyesוּמָלֵאand-fullרוּחַthe-spirit-ofגַּאֲוָהprideעַל־לֹא־דָבָרwithout-a-causeמִשֵׂכֶלby-the-mind-ofבְּשָׂרוֹ׃His-flesh
Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

וְאֵינֶנּוּand-there-is-notאֹחֵזholdingבָּרֹאשׁthe-Headאֲשֶׁרwhichמִמֶּנּוּfrom-himכׇּל־הַגּוּףall-the-bodyהַמְחֻבָּרbeing-knit-togetherוְהַמׇּאֳחָזand-compactedבְּצִירָיוby-its-jointsוּדְבָקָיוand-its-bandsיִגְדַּלincreasethגִּדּוּלwith-the-increase-ofאֱלֹהִים׃God
And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

לָכֵןthereforeאִם־מַתֶּםif-you-be-deadעִם־הַמָּשִׁיחַwith-the-Messiahלְתִקּוּנֵיfrom-the-rudiments-ofהָעוֹלָםthe-worldלָמָּהwhyתִשְׁתַּעְבְּדוּare-you-subjectלְחֻקִּיםto-ordinancesכְּאִלּוּas-thoughעֹדְכֶםever-you(pl)חַיִּיםlivingבָּעוֹלָם׃in-the-world
Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

אַל־תֹּאחֵזhandle-notאַל־תִּטְעַםtaste-notאַל־תִּגָּע׃touch-not
(Touch not; taste not; handle not;
- 22
וְהֵםand-theyעֹמְדִיםareלִכְלוֹתto-perishבְּתַשְׁמִישָׁםin-their-useלְפִיaccording-toמִצְוֹתcommandments-ofאֲנָשִׁיםmenוְלִמּוּדֵיהֶם׃and-doctrines
Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

הַנִּרְאִיםwhich-haveכְּעֵיןa-shew-ofחׇכְמָהwisdomבַּעֲבוֹדָהin-will-worshipבְדוּיָהin-the illness ofמִלֵּבfrom-the heartוּבְשִׁפְלוּתand-in-lowering ofרוּחַthe-spirit-ofוּבְעִנּוּיand-in-neglectingהַגּוּףthe-bodyשֶׁאֵיןwhom-notבּוֹin-himמוֹעִילworthרַק־לְהַשְׂבִּיעַonly-to-satisfyהַבָּשָׂר׃the-flesh
Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
