   For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

   לְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיְנֻחֲמוּye/nu/cha/MUmight be comfortedלִבּוֹתָםlib/bo/TAMtheir heartsוְנִקְשְׁרוּve/nik/she/RUand be knitיַחַדYA/chadtogetherבְּאַהֲבָהbe/a/ha/VAin loveוּלְכׇל־עֹשֶׁרu/le/KHOL-O/sherand to all the riches ofמְלֹאme/LOthe fullness ofבֶטַחVE/tachthe assurance ofהַבִּינָהhab/bi/NAthe understandingלָדַעַתla/DA/atto knowאֶת־סוֹדet-sodthe secret ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְהָאָבve/Ha/AVand the Fatherוְהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ve/ham/Ma/SHI/achand the Messiah

   That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבּוֹboin himצְפוּנִיםtse/fu/NIMare hiddenכׇּל־אֹצְרוֹתkol-ots/ROTall the treasures ofהַחׇכְמָהha/chokh/MAwisdomוְהַדָּעַת׃ve/had/DA/atand knowledge

   In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

4. 4

   וְזֹאתve/ZOTand thisאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIפֶּןpenlestיַשִּׁיאyash/SHImay deceiveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאִישׁishanyoneבְּשִׂפְתֵיbe/sif/TEwith lips ofחֲלָקוֹת׃cha/la/KOTsmooth things

   And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

   כִּיkiforגַּם־אִםgam-imeven ifרָחוֹקra/CHOKfarאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amבַּבָּשָׂרbab/ba/SARin the fleshבָּרוּחַba/RU/achin the spiritאֲנִיa/NII amעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youשָׂמֵחַsa/ME/achrejoiceוְרֹאֶהve/ro/Eand seeingאֶת־סִדְרֵיכֶםet-sid/re/KHEMyour orderוְאֶת־תֹּקֶףve/ET-TO/kefand the firmness ofאֱמוּנַתְכֶםe/mu/nat/KHEMyour faithבַּמָּשִׁיחַ׃bam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiah

   For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasקִבַּלְתֶּםkib/bal/TEMyou receivedאֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַet-Ham/ma/SHI/achthe MessiahיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordכֵּןkensoהִתְהַלְּכוּhit/hal/le/KHUwalkבוֹ׃voin him

   As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

7. 7

   מַשְׁרִישִׁיםmash/ri/SHIMtaking rootוְנִבְנִיםve/niv/NIMand built upבּוֹboin himוּנְכוֹנִיםu/ne/kho/NIMand establishedבָּאֱמוּנָהba/e/mu/NAin the faithכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasלֻמַּדְתֶּםlum/mad/TEMyou were taughtוּמַרְבִּיםu/mar/BIMand aboundingבָּהּbain itבְּתוֹדָה׃be/to/DAin thanksgiving

   Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

   הִזָּהֲרוּhiz/za/ha/RUbewareפֶּן־יוֹלִיךְpen-yo/LIKHlest lead awayאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאִישׁishanyoneשׁוֹלָלsho/LALdespoiledבְּפִילֹסוֹפְיָהbe/fi/lo/sof/YAby philosophyוּבְמִרְמַתu/ve/mir/MATand deceitשָׁוְאshavemptinessלְפִיle/FIaccording toקַבָּלַתkab/ba/LATthe tradition ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmenלְפִיle/FIaccording toיְסוֹדוֹתye/so/DOTthe elements ofהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMthe worldוְלֹאve/LOand notלְפִיle/FIaccording toהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

   Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

9. 9

   כִּיkiforבוֹvoin himשֹׁכֵןsho/KHENdwellsכׇּל־מְלֹאkol-me/LOall the fullness ofהָאֱלָהוּתha/E/la/HUTthe Godheadבְּגוּף׃be/GUFin a body

   For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10. 10

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youשְׁלֵמִיםshe/le/MIMcompleteבּוֹboin himאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהוּאhuisרֹאשׁroshthe head ofכׇּל־מִשְׂרָהkol-mis/RAall dominionוְשִׁלְטוֹן׃ve/shil/TONand authority

    And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11. 11

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomבּוֹboin himגַם־נִמַּלְתֶּםgam-nim/mal/TEMyou were also circumcisedמִילָהmi/LAwith a circumcisionאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isלֹאlonotנַעֲשְׂתָהna/a/se/TAmadeבְיָדַיִםve/ya/DA/yimby handsבְּפׇשְׁטְכֶםbe/fosh/te/KHEMin your putting offאֶת־גּוּףet-gufthe body ofחַטֹּאתchat/TOTthe sins ofהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshבְּמִילַתbe/mi/LATby the circumcision ofהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12. 12

    נִקְבַּרְתֶּםnik/bar/TEMyou were buriedאִתּוֹit/TOwith himבַּטְּבִילָהbat/te/vi/LAin baptismאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּהּbain itגַּם־קַמְתֶּםgam-kam/TEMyou were also raisedאִתּוֹit/TOwith himבֶּאֱמוּנַתbe/e/mu/NATby the faith ofפְּעֻלַּתpe/ul/LATthe working ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֱעִירוֹhe/i/ROraised himמִן־הַמֵּתִים׃min-ham/me/TIMfrom the dead

    Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

13. 13

    וְאֶתְכֶםve/et/KHEMand youבִּהְיוֹתְכֶםbih/yot/KHEMbeingמֵתִיםme/TIMdeadבַּחֲטָאֵיכֶםba/cha/ta/e/KHEMin your sinsוּבְעׇרְלַתu/ve/or/LATand in the uncircumcision ofבְּשַׂרְכֶםbe/sar/KHEMyour fleshהֶחֱיָהhe/che/YAHe made aliveיַחַדYA/chadtogetherאִתּוֹit/TOwith himבִּסְלֹחַbis/LO/achforgivingלָכֶםla/KHEMyouאֶת־כׇּל־הַפְּשָׁעִים׃et-kol-hap/pe/sha/IMall the transgressions

    And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

14. 14

    וַיִּמַחvay/YI/machand He blotted outאֶת־כְּתַבet-ke/TAVthe writing ofהַחֻקִּיםha/chuk/KIMthe statutesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיָהha/YAwasעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuagainst usוְהוּאve/HUand itצַרtsaragainstלָנוּLA/nuto usוַיְסִרֵהוּvay/si/RE/huand He removed itמִן־הַדֶּרֶךְmin-had/DE/rekhout of the wayוַיִּתְקָעֵהוּvay/yit/ka/E/huand nailed itבִּצְלוּבוֹ׃bits/lu/VOon his cross

    Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15. 15

    וַיּוֹלֶךְvay/YO/lekhand He ledאֶת־הַשָּׂרִיםet-has/sa/RIMthe princesוְאֶת־הַשַּׁלִּיטִיםve/ET-hash/shal/li/TIMand the rulersשׁוֹלָלsho/LALdespoiledוַיִּתְּנֵםvay/yit/te/NEMand made themלְרַאֲוָהle/RA/a/vaa spectacleלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEbefore the eyes ofכֹלkholallוַיִּתְרוֹעַעvay/yit/ro/Aand He triumphedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMover themבּוֹ׃boin it

    And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

16. 16

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeלֹא־יָדִיןlo-ya/DINlet not judgeאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאִישׁishanyoneבְּמַאֲכָלbe/ma/a/KHALin foodאוֹoorבְמַשְׁקֶהve/mash/KEin drinkאוֹoorבִּדְבַרbid/VARin the matter ofחַגchaga feastאוֹoorחֹדֶשׁCHO/desha new moonאוֹoorשַׁבָּתוֹת׃shab/ba/TOTsabbaths

    Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17. 17

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵםhemareצֵלtsela shadow ofהַבָּאוֹתhab/ba/OTthings to comeוְהַגּוּףve/hag/GUFand the bodyלַמָּשִׁיחַ׃lam/Ma/SHI/achis of the Messiah

    Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

18. 18

    אַל־יַשִּׁיאal-yash/SHIlet not deceiveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאִישׁisha manמִשְּׂכַרְכֶםmis/se/khar/KHEMfrom your rewardבְּשִׁפְלוּתbe/shif/LUTin humilityרוּחַRU/achspiritנְדָבָהne/da/VAwillingוּבַעֲבֹדַתu/va/a/vo/DATand in the worship ofמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMangelsוּבָאu/VAand goingבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERin whatלֹאlonotרָאָהra/Ahe has seenוְלִבּוֹve/lib/BOand his heartגָבַהּga/VAis lifted upחִנָּםchin/NAMin vainבְּמַחְשְׁבוֹתbe/mach/she/VOTby the thoughts ofבְּשָׂרוֹ׃be/sa/ROhis flesh

    Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

19. 19

    וְאֵינֶנּוּve/e/NEN/nuand is notאֹחֵזo/CHEZholdingבָּרֹאשׁba/ROSHto the headאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himכׇּל־הַגּוּףkol-hag/GUFall the bodyבַּדְּבָקִיםbad/de/va/KIMby the jointsוּבָעֲבֹתִיםu/va/a/vo/TIMand bandsמְכֻלְכָּלme/khul/KALnourishedוּמְחֻבָּרu/me/chub/BARand joined togetherיִרְבֶּהyir/BEincreasesמַרְבִּיתmar/BITwith the increase ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

20. 20

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאִם־מַתֶּםim-mat/TEMif you diedעִם־הַמָּשִׁיחַim-Ham/ma/SHI/achwith the Messiahמִיסוֹדוֹתmi/so/DOTfrom the elements ofהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMthe worldלָמָּהLAM/mawhyכְּחַיִּיםke/chay/YIMas though livingבָּעוֹלָםba/o/LAMin the worldתִּכָּנְעוּtik/ka/ne/Udo you submitלְחֻקִּים׃le/chuk/KIMto statutes

    Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

21. 21

    אַל־תִּגַּעal-tig/GAdo not touchאַל־תִּטְעַםal-tit/AMdo not tasteאַל־תָּמֵשׁ׃al-ta/MESHdo not handle

    (Touch not; taste not; handle not;

22. 22

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichכֻּלָּםkul/LAMallיֹאבְדוּyo/ve/DUperishבְּהֵאָכְלָםbe/he/a/khe/LAMin their useלְפִיle/FIaccording toמִצְוֹתmits/VOTthe commandments ofוְתוֹרוֹתve/to/ROTand laws ofאֲנָשִׁים׃a/na/SHIMmen

    Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

23. 23

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיֵשׁyeshhaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themאׇמְנָםom/NAMindeedמַרְאֵהmar/Ethe appearance ofחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomבַּעֲבֹדָהba/a/vo/DAin worshipבְדוּיָהve/du/YAinventedמִלֵּבmil/LEVfrom the heartוּבְשִׁפְלוּתu/ve/shif/LUTand in lowliness ofרוּחַRU/achspiritוּבְלֹאu/ve/LOand withoutחֲמֹלcha/MOLsparingעַל־הַגּוּףal-hag/GUFfor the bodyלֹאlonotבְכָבוֹדve/kha/VODin honorמְאוּמָהme/U/maanythingלְשֹׂבַעle/SO/vato the satisfying ofהַבָּשָׂר׃hab/ba/SARthe flesh

    Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
