    וְכַאֲשֶׁרAnd-whenנִגְמַרit-was-determinedדִּינֵנוּour-causeלַעֲבֹרthat-we-should-sailבׇּאֳנִיָּהin-a-shipאֶל־אִיטַלְיָאinto-Italy,מָסְרוּthey-deliveredאֶת־פּוֹלוֹסPaulוּמִקְצָתand-certainאֲסִירִיםprisonersאֲחֵרִיםotherאֶל־שַׂרunto-a-centurion-ofהַמֵּאָהthe-hundredלִגְדוּדof-the-band-ofאֲגוּסְטוֹסAugustus,וּשְׁמוֹnamedיוּלִיּוֹס׃Julius.

    And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.

    וַנֵּרֶדAnd-enteringבׇּאֳנִיָּהinto-a-shipאַדְרָמִטִּיתof-Adramyttium,נְכוֹנָהmeaningלָלֶכֶתto-sailעַל־פְּנֵיbyחוֹףthe-coasts-ofאַסְיָאAsia,וַנַּעֲבֹרwe-launchedהַיָּמָּהinto-the-sea;וַיְהִיand-wasאִתָּנוּwith-usאֲרִסְטַרְכוֹסone-Aristarchus,מַקְדּוֹןa-Macedonianמִן־תַּסְלוֹנִיקִי׃of-Thessalonica.

    And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.

    וּמִמׇּחֳרָתAnd-the-next-dayהִגַּעְנוּwe-touchedלְצִידוֹןat-Sidon.וְיוּלִיוֹסAnd-Juliusעָשָׂהentreatedחֶסֶדcourteouslyעִם־פּוֹלוֹסPaul,וַיַּנַּחand-gave-libertyלוֹhimלָלֶכֶתto-goאֶל־מְיֻדָּעָיוunto-his-friendsלְמַעַןthatיָשִׁיבוּthey-might-refreshנַפְשׁוֹ׃himself.

    And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.

    וַנֵּלֶךְAnd-when-we-had-launchedמִשָּׁםfrom-thence,וַנַּעֲבֹרwe-sailedבִּסְבִיבוֹתunderקִיפְרוֹסCyprus,כִּיbecauseהָרוּחוֹתthe-windsהָיוּwereלְנֶגְדֵּנוּ׃contrary-to-us.

    And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

    וַנַּעֲבֹרAnd-when-we-had-sailed-overאֶת־הַיָּםthe-seaאֲשֶׁרwhich-isלִפְנֵיbeforeקִילִיקְיָאCiliciaוּפַמְפּוּלְיָאand-Pamphylia,וַנָּבֹאwe-cameאֶל־מוּרָאto-Myra,אֲשֶׁרwhich-isבְּלוּקְיָא׃a-city-of-Lycia.

    And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.

    וַיִּמְצָא־שָׁםAnd-there-foundשַׂרthe-centurion-ofהַמֵּאָהthe-hundredאֳנִיָּהa-shipאֲלֶכְסַנְדְּרִיתof-Alexandriaבָּאָהsailingלְאִיטַלְיָאinto-Italy;וַיַּעֲבִירֵנוּand-he-put-usאֶל־תּוֹכָהּ׃therein.

    And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.

    וְהׇאֳנִיָּהAnd-the-shipהָלְכָהsailedבִּכְבֵדוּתslowlyיָמִיםdaysרַבִּיםmany,וְאַחֲרֵיand-afterאֲשֶׁרthatיָגַעְנוּscarceוּבָאנוּwere-comeאֶל־מוּלover-againstקְנִידוֹסCnidus,לֹאnotהִנִּיחָנוּsuffering-us,הָרוּחַthe-windלַחְתֹּרto-make-towardאֶל־הַיַּבָּשָׁהthe-land,וַנַּעֲבֹרwe-sailedמִצַּדunderקְרֵיטִיCrete,עַל־פְּנֵיover-againstהַרmountסַלְמוֹנִי׃Salmone;

    And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;

    וְאַחֲרֵיAnd,אֲשֶׁרwhichעָבַרְנוּhardly-passing-it,בִּתְלָאוֹתwith-difficultyבָּאנוּcameלְמָקוֹםunto-a-placeאֶחָדcertainקָלִיThe-fairלִימֶנֶסhavensשְׁמוֹwhich-is-called;וּקְרוֹבָהnigh-whereuntoלוֹto-itעִירwas-the-city-ofוּשְׁמָהּnamedלַסִּיָּא׃Lasea.

    And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.

    וַיְהִיNow-it-came-to-passמִקֵּץwhen-was-spentיָמִיםtimeרַבִּיםmuch,הִגִּיעָהwas-now-comeעֵתthe-time-ofהַסַּכָּנָהdangerלְיֹרְדֵיto-them-that-go-down-toהַיָּםthe-sea,כִּיbecauseגַם־הַצּוֹםthe-fast-alsoכְּבָרnow-alreadyעָבָרwas-past,וַיַּזְהֵרadmonishedאֹתָםthem,פּוֹלוֹס׃Paul

    Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,

    וַיֹּאמֶרAnd-saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto-them,אֲנָשִׁיםSirs,רֹאֶהperceiveאֲנִיIכִּיthatהֲלִיכָתֵנוּthis-voyageתִּהְיֶהwill-beאַךְ־זָדוֹןwith-hurtוְנֶזֶקand-damage,גָּדוֹלmuchלֹאnot-onlyלַמַּשָּׂאof-the-ladingוְלׇאֳנִיָּהand-ship,לְבַדonlyכִּיbutאִםratherגַּםalsoלְנַפְשׁוֹתֵינוּ׃of-our-lives.

    And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

    וְשַׂרNevertheless-the-centurion-ofהַמֵּאָהthe-hundredשָׁמַעbelievedאֶל־רַבthe-master-ofהַחֹבֵלthe-marinersוְאֶל־בַּעַלand-the-owner-ofהׇאֳנִיָּהthe-ship,וְאֶל־דִּבְרֵיand-those-things-which-were-spoken-byפוֹלוֹסPaulלֹאnotשָׁמָע׃he-heeded.

    Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

    וּבַאֲשֶׁרAnd-becauseהַחוֹףthe-havenלֹאwas-notטוֹבcommodiousלַעֲמָד־בּוֹto-winter-in,בִּימֵיin-the-days-ofהַסְּתָוwinter,יָעֲצוּadvisedהָרַבִּיםthe-more-partלַעֲבֹרto-departמִשָּׁםthence-also,כִּיforאָמְרוּthey-said,אוּלַיif-by-any-meansנוּכַלthey-mightהַגִּיעַattainלְפֵינִיכַסto-Phenice,וְיָשַׁבְנוּand-there-to-winterשָׁםthereבִּימֵיin-the-days-ofהַסְּתָוwinter;וְהוּאwhich-isחוֹףan-haven-ofבִּקְרֵיטִיCrete,פּוֹנֶהand-liethלִפְאַתtoward-the-side-ofדָּרוֹםthe-southמַעֲרָבָהwestוְלִפְאַתand-toward-the-side-ofצָפוֹןthe-northמַעֲרָבָה׃west.

    And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.

    וְרוּחַAnd-when-the-windנשֶׁבֶתblewלְאַטsoftly,מִן־הַדָּרוֹםfrom-the-southוְהֵםtheyחשְׁבִיםsupposingשֶׁתִּצְלַחthat-they-had-obtainedעֲצָתָםtheir-purpose,וַיַּעֲלוּloosingהָעוֹגִיןthe-anchorsוַיַּעַבְרוּthey-sailedלְעֻמַּתclose-byשְׂפַתthe-shore-ofאִיthe-isle-ofקְרֵיטִי׃Crete.

    And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.

    וְכִמְעַטBut-not-longאַחַרafterכֵּןthatוַתִּפְגַּעthere-aroseבָּאִיagainst-the-isleרוּחַa-windנַחֲשֹׁלtempestuous,אֲשֶׁרwhichאַוְרִיקְלִידוֹןEuroclydonיִקָּרֵאis-calledלָהּ׃to-it.

    But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

  15. 15

    וַתְּטֹרַףAnd-when-was-caught,הׇאֳנִיָּהthe-shipוְלֹא־יָכְלָהand-could-notלַעֲמֹדbear-upנֶגֶדintoהָרוּחַthe-wind,וַנֶּרֶףwe-let-goיָדֵינוּour-handsמִמֶּנָּהfrom-herוַנִּנָּדֵף׃and-let-her-drive.

    And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

  16. 16

    וַתָּרׇץAnd-runningהַאֳנִיָּהthe-shipאֶל־עֵבֶרunderאִי־קָטֹןa-island-certain-smallקְלוֹדָהClaudaשְׁמוֹwhich-is-called,וְכִמְעַטand-much-workלֹאhardlyיָכֹלְנוּwe-hadלֶאֱחֹזto-come-byהָעֲבָרָה׃the-boat:

    And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:

  17. 17

    וְאַחֲרֵיAnd-whenמָשְׁכָםthey-had-taken-upאוֹתָהּitאֲלֵיהֶםto-them,הֵבִיאוּthey-usedלְעֶזְרָתָםhelps,כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרall-thatהִשִּׂיגָהcould-reachיָדָםtheir-hand,וַיַּחְבְּשׁוּundergirdingאֶת־דָּפְנֵיthe-sides-ofהׇאֳנִיָּהthe-ship;וּמִיִּרְאָתָםand,-fearingפֶּן־יִפְּלוּlest-they-should-fallאֶל־בֵּיןintoרֻכְסֵיthe-banks-ofהַחוֹלthe-quicksands,הוֹרִידוּstrakeאֶת־הַקְּלָעִיםthe-sails,וַנַּעֲבֹרand-so-were-drivenהָלְאָה׃onward.

    Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.

  18. 18

    וַיְהִיAnd-beingהַסַּעַרwith-a-tempestהוֹלֵךְexceedinglyוְסֹעֵרtossedעָלֵינוּwe,וּמִמָּחֲרָתthe-next-dayהֵטִילוּthey-lightenedאֶת־הַמַּשָּׂאthe-ladingאֶל־הַיָּם׃into-the-sea;

    And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

  19. 19

    וּבַיּוֹםAnd-the-dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיthirdהֵטִילוּwe-cast-outבִידֵיהֶםwith-our-own-handsאֶת־כְּלֵיthe-tackling-ofהׇאֳנִיָּהthe-shipאֶל־הַיָּם׃into-the-sea.

    And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.

  20. 20

    וַיְהִיAnd-whenיָמִיםdaysרַבִּיםin-manyגַּם־הַשֶּׁמֶשׁneither-sunגַּם־הַכּוֹכָבִיםnor-starsלֹאnotנִרְאוּappeared,וְהַסְּעָרָהand-the-tempestחָזְקָהno-smallעָלֵינוּlay-on-usעַד־מְאֹדexceedingly,וַתִּכָּרֵתwas-then-taken-awayמִמֶּנּוּfrom-usכׇּל־תִּקְוָה׃all-hope-that-we-should-be-saved.

    And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

  21. 21

    וּפוֹלוֹסBut-Paulעָמַדstood-forthבְּתוֹכָםin-the-midst-of-them,אַחֲרֵיafterהַאֲרִיכָםlongבַּצּוֹםabstinenceוַיֹּאמַרand-said,אֲנָשִׁיםSirs,לוּshould-haveשְׁמַעְתֶּםyou-hearkenedאֵלַיunto-me,וְלֹאand-notיְצָאתֶםhave-loosedמִקְּרֵיטִיfrom-Crete,כִּיforאָזthenלֹאnotקָרָנוּto-have-gainedהַנֶּזֶקharmהַזֶּהthisבְּמֶרְיְכֶם׃and-loss.

    But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

  22. 22

    וְעַתָּהAnd-nowאֲנִיIאֹמֵרexhortאֲלֵיכֶםyouחִזְקוּto-be-of-good-cheerוְאִמְצוּand-of-good-courage:כִּיforלֹא־תֹאבַדthere-shall-be-no-loss-ofנֶפֶשׁlifeמִכֶּםof-any-man-among-you,בִּלְתִּיbutהׇאֳנִיָּהof-the-shipלְבַדָּה׃only.

    And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.

  23. 23

    כִּי־בַלַּיְלָהFor-this-nightהַזֶּהthisנִצַּבthere-stoodעָלַיby-meמַלְאַךְthe-angel-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםGod,אֲשֶׁר־לוֹwhoseאָנֹכִיI-am,וַאֲשֶׁרand-whomאֲנִיIעֹבֵדserve,אֹתוֹ׃him

    For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,

  24. 24

    וַיֹּאמַרSaying,אַל־תִּירָאFear-not,פוֹלוֹסPaul;עוֹדyetעָמוֹדmust-be-broughtתַּעֲמֹדyou-standלִפְנֵיbeforeקֵיסָרCaesar:וְעַתָּהand,הִנֵּהlo,נָתַן־לְךָhath-given-youהָאֱלֹהִיםGodאֶת־כׇּל־הַהֹלְכִיםall-them-that-sailאִתְּךָwith-youבׇּאֳנִיָּה׃in-the-ship.

    Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cæsar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

  25. 25

    עַל־כֵּןWherefore,אֲנָשִׁיםsirs,חִזְקוּbe-of-good-cheerוְאִמְצוּand-courage:כִּיforמַאֲמִיןbelieveאֲנִיIלֵאלֹהִיםGod,כִּי־כֵןthat-even-soיִהְיֶהit-shall-beכַּאֲשֶׁרasנֶאֱמַרit-was-toldאֵלָי׃me.

    Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

  26. 26

    אַךְHowbeitהָשְׁלֵךְcastנֻשְׁלַךְwe-must-beאֶל־אַחַדupon-a-certainהָאִיִּים׃island.

    Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.

  27. 27

    וַיְהִיBut-it-came-to-passכְּבוֹאwhen-was-come,לֵילthe-nightאַרְבָּעָהfour-andעָשָׂרtenthלְטִלְטוּלֵנוּas-we-were-driven-up-and-downבְּיַםin-the-sea-ofאַדְרִיָּהAdria,כַּחֲצוֹתabout-the-middle-ofהַלַּיְלָהthe-nightוַיַּחְשְׁבוּdeemedהַמַּלָּחִיםthe-shipmenכִּי־קָרְבָהthat-they-drew-nearלָהֶםto-themיַבָּשֶׁת׃to-some-country;

    But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;

  28. 28

    וַיּוֹרִידוּAnd-they-let-downאֶת־הָאֲנָךְthe-sounding-lead,וַיִּמְצְאוּand-foundעֹמֶקthe-depth-ofהַיָּםthe-seaעֶשְׂרִיםtwentyקוֹמָהfathoms:וַיַּעַבְרוּand-when-they-had-goneמְעַטa-little-further,וַיּוֹרִידוּthey-let-downאֶת־הָאֲנָךְthe-sounding-leadשֵׁנִיתagain,וַיִּמְצְאוּand-found-itקוֹמוֹתfathomsחֲמֵשׁfive-andעֶשְׂרֵה׃ten.

    And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.

    וַיִּירְאוּThen-fearingפֶּן־יִפְגְּעוּlest-we-should-have-fallenבְּשִׁנֵּיupon-the-teeth-ofהַסְּלָעִיםthe-rocks,וַיַּשְׁלִיכוּthey-castמֵעַל־אֲחוֹרֵיout-of-the-stern-ofהׇאֳנִיָּהthe-shipאַרְבָּעָהfourעוֹגִינִיםanchorsאֶל־הַיָּםinto-the-sea,וַיִּכְסְפוּand-wishedלְאוֹרfor-the-light-ofהַיּוֹם׃the-day.

    Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

  30. 30

    וְהַמַּלָּחִיםAnd-as-the-shipmenבִּקְשׁוּwere-aboutלִבְרֹחַto-fleeמִן־הׇאֳנִיָּהout-of-the-ship,וַיּוֹרִידוּwhen-they-had-let-downאֶת־הָעֲבָרָהthe-boatאֶל־הַיָּםinto-the-sea,בְּאׇמְרָםunder-color-as-thoughכִּיthatיֵשׁthere-wasאֶת־נַפְשָׁםin-their-mindלְשַׁלֵּחַthey-would-have-castעוֹגִינִיםanchorsגַּם־מֵרֹאשׁout-of-the-foreship-ofהׇאֳנִיָּה׃the-ship,

    And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

  31. 31

    וַיֹּאמֶרSaidפּוֹלוֹסPaulאֶל־שַׂרto-the-centurion-ofהַמֵּאָהthe-hundredוְאֶל־אַנְשֵׁיand-to-the-men-ofהַצָּבָאwar,לֵאמֹרsaying,אִם־הֵםExcept-theseלֹא־יַעַמְדוּabide-notעִתָּנוּwith-usבׇּאֳנִיָּהin-the-ship,לֹאnotתוּכְלוּcanאַתֶּםyouלְהִנָּצֵל׃be-saved.

    Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.

  32. 32

    וַיְקַצְּצוּThen-cut-offאַנְשֵׁיthe-men-ofהַצָּבָאwarאֶת־חַבְלֵיthe-ropes-ofהָעֲבָרָהthe-boat,וַיִּתְּנוּהָand-let-herלִנְפּוֹל׃fall-off.

    Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

  33. 33

    וְהַבֹּקֶרAnd-while-the-dayטֶרֶםbeforeיֵאוֹרwas-coming-on,וַיְבַקֵּשׁbesoughtפּוֹלוֹסPaulמִכֻּלָּםthem-allלִטְעָם־לֶחֶםto-take-meat,לֵאמֹרsaying,הַיּוֹםThis-dayיוֹםis-the-dayאַרְבָּעָהfour-andעָשָׂרtenthאֲשֶׁרthatחִכִּיתֶםyou-have-tarriedבַּצּוֹםand-continued-fasting,וְלֹאand-nothingטְעַמְתֶּםhaving-takenלָחֶם׃of-bread.

    And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.

    עַל־כֵּןWhereforeקֹרֵאprayאֲנִיIאֶתְכֶםyouלִטְעֹםto-takeלֶחֶםsome-meat:כִּיforהוּאthis-isלִתְשׁוּעַתְכֶםfor-your-health:כִּיforאִישׁof-anyמִכֶּםof-youלֹא־יִפֹּלthere-shall-not-fallמִשַּׂעֲרַתan-hairרֹאשׁוֹfrom-the-headאָרְצָה׃to-the-ground.

    Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

  35. 35

    הוּאAnd-when-heדִבֶּרhad-spokenאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםwords,הָאֵלֶּהthusוְהוּאheלָקַחtookאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםbread,וַיּוֹדֶהand-gave-thanksלֵאלֹהִיםto-Godלִפְנֵיin-presence-ofכֻלָּםthem-all:וַיִּבְצַעand-when-he-had-broken-it,וַיָּחֶלhe-beganלֶאֱכֹל׃to-eat.

    And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

  36. 36

    וַיֶּאֱמַץThen-were-of-good-cheerלֵבthe-heart-ofכֻּלָּםthey-all,וַיִּטְעֲמוּ־אֹכֶלand-they-took-some-meatגַּם־הֵמָּה׃also-they.

    Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.

  37. 37

    וַאֲנַחְנוּAnd-we-wereכׇּל־נֶפֶשׁin-all-soulsאֲשֶׁרwhich-wereבׇּאֳנִיָּהin-the-shipמָאתַיִםtwo-hundredוְשִׁבְעִיםthreescore-and-tenוָשֵׁשׁ׃and-six.

    And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.

  38. 38

    וַיֹּאכְלוּAnd-when-they-had-eatenלְשׇׂבְעָהenough,וַיָּקֵלּוּthey-lightenedמֵעַל־הׇאֳנִיָּהthe-ship,וַיָּטִילוּand-cast-outאֶת־הַצֵּדָהthe-wheatאֶל־הַיָּם׃into-the-sea.

    And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.

  39. 39

    הַבֹּקֶרAnd-when-it-was-day,אוֹרlightוְהֵםtheyלֹאnotהִכִּירוּknewאֶת־הָאָרֶץthe-land:אֲבָלbutרָאוּthey-discoveredכְּמִפְרַץa-certain-creek-ofהַיָּםthe-seaוְחוֹףwith-a-shoreלוֹto-it,וַיִּוָּעֲצוּinto-the-which-they-were-minded,לְנַהֵגto-thrust-inאֵלָיוto-itאֶת־הׇאֳנִיָּהthe-ship,אִם־יוּכָלוּ׃if-it-were-possible.

    And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.

    וַיְגַדְּעוּAnd-when-they-had-taken-upאֶת־הָעוֹגִינִיםthe-anchors,וַיַּעַזְבוּםthey-committed-themselvesלַיָּםunto-the-sea,וַיַּתִּירוּand-loosedגַּם־אֶת־מֵיתְרֵיalso-the-bands-ofהַמַּנְהִיגthe-rudder,וַיִּפְרְשׂוּand-hoised-upמִפְרַשׂthe-sail-ofהַתֹּרֶןthe-mainmastאֶל־פְּנֵיtoהָרוּחַthe-wind,וַיְבַקְשׁוּand-madeלָבֹאto-comeאֶל־הַחוֹף׃toward-shore.

    And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

  41. 41

    וַיִּפְגְּעוּAnd-fallingבְמָקוֹםinto-a-placeאֲשֶׁרwhereהַיָּםthe-seaמִשְּׁנֵיmet-from-two-ofעֲבָרָיוits-sides,וַתִּדְבַּק־בּוֹthey-ran-agroundהׇאֳנִיָּהthe-ship;וַתַּעֲמֹדand-stuck-fast,רֹאשָׁהּthe-forepartלֹאand-remainedיִנּוֹעַunmoveable,וַאֲחוֹרֶיהָּbut-the-hinder-partנִשְׁבְּרוּwas-brokenמִשְּׁאוֹןwith-the-violence-ofהַגַּלִּים׃the-waves.

    And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.

    וַתְּהִיAnd-wasעֲצַתthe-counsel-ofאַנְשֵׁיthe-men-ofהַצָּבָאwarלְהָמִיתto-killאֶת־הָאֲסִירִיםthe-prisoners,פֶּן־יִשְׂחֶהlest-should-swim-outאִישׁanyמֵהֶםof-them,וְנִמְלָט׃and-escape.

    And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.

  43. 43

    וְשַׂרBut-the-centurion-ofהַמֵּאָהthe-hundred,חָפֵץwillingלְהַצִּילto-saveאֶת־פּוֹלוֹסPaul,וַיָּנֵאkept-themאֶת־עֲצָתָםfrom-their-purpose;וַיֹּאמַרand-commandedהַיֹּדֵעַthat-they-which-couldלִשְׂחוֹתswimיֵרֵדshould-cast-themselvesוְיַעֲבֹרand-getלַיַּבָּשָׁהto-landבָּרִאשֹׁנָה׃first:

    But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

  44. 44

    וְהַנִּשְׁאָרִיםAnd-the-rest,אֵלֶּהsomeעַל־קְרָשִׁיםon-boards,וְאֵלֶּהand-someעַל־שִׁבְרֵיon-broken-pieces-ofהׇאֳנִיָּהthe-ship.וַיְהִי־כֵןAnd-so-it-came-to-pass,וַיִּמָּלְטוּthat-they-escapedכֻלָּםallאֶל־הַיַּבָּשָׁה׃safe-to-land.

    And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
