   And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:

   And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.

   וַנֵּרֶאvan/ne/REand we sawאֶת־פְּנֵיet-pe/NEthe face ofקִיפְרוֹסKi/fe/ROSCyprusוְהִיאve/HIand itמִשְּׂמֹאלֵנוּmis/se/mo/le/NUon our leftוַנַּעֲבֹרvan/na/a/VORand we passedמֵעָלֶיהָme/a/LE/haby itאֶל־סוּרְיָאel-Sur/YAto Syriaוַנַּגִּיעַvan/nag/GI/aand we reachedאֶל־צוֹרel-TsorTyreכִּי־שָׁמָּהki-SHAM/mafor thereיוֹצִיאוּyo/TSI/uthey would unloadאֶת־מַשָּׂאet-mas/SAthe cargo ofהׇאֳנִיָּה׃ho/o/niy/YAthe ship

   Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.

   וַנִּמְצָאvan/nim/TSAand we foundאֶת־הַתַּלְמִידִיםet-hat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesוַנֵּשֶׁבvan/NE/shevand we stayedשָׁםshamthereשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוְהֵםve/HEMand theyאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidאֶל־פּוֹלוֹסel-Po/LOSto Paulעַל־פִּיal-piby the mouth ofהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInotעֲלוֹתa/LOTto go upיְרוּשָׁלָיִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

   And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

   And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.

   And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.

   And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.

   And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Cæsarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.

   וְלוֹve/LOand he hadאַרְבַּעar/BAfourבָּנוֹתba/NOTdaughtersבְּתוּלוֹתbe/tu/LOTvirginsמִתְנַבְּאוֹת׃mit/nab/be/OTwho prophesied

   And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבִּהְיוֹתֵנוּbih/yo/TE/nuas we wereשָׁםshamthereיָמִיםya/MIMdaysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַיֵּרֶדvay/YE/redand came downנָבִיאna/VIa prophetאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִיהוּדָהmI/hu/DAfrom Judaeaוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameאֲגָבוֹס׃A/ga/VOSAgabus

    And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judæa a certain prophet, named Agabus.

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameאֶצְלֵנוּets/le/NUto usוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHhe tookאֶת־אֵזוֹרet-e/ZORthe belt ofפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulוַיֶּאְסׇר־בּוֹvay/ye/SOR-boand bound with itאֶת־יָדָיוet-ya/DAYVhis handsוְאֶת־רַגְלָיוve/ET-rag/LAYVand his feetוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy SpiritכָּכָהKA/khasoיַאַסְרוּya/as/RUwill bindהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe JewsבִּירוּשָׁלַיִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemאֶת־הָאִישׁet-ha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lowhose isהָאֵזוֹרha/e/ZORthe beltהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְיַסְגִּירֻהוּve/yas/gi/ru/HUand will hand him overבִּידֵיbi/DEinto the hands ofהַגּוֹיִם׃hag/Go/YIMthe Gentiles

    And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenשָׁמַעְנוּsha/MA/nuwe heardאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe wordהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַנְּבַקֵּשׁvan/ne/vak/KESHand we beggedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof himאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweוְאַנְשֵׁיve/an/SHEand they ofהַמָּקוֹםham/ma/KOMthe placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יַעֲלֶהlo-ya/a/LEhe would not go upיְרוּשָׁלָיִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

    And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

13. 13

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidמַה־לָּכֶםma-la/KHEMwhat is it with youכִּיkithatתִבְכּוּtiv/KUyou weepוְתָמֵסּוּve/ta/mes/SUand meltאֶת־לְבָבִיet-le/va/VImy heartוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iהִנְנִי־נָכוֹןhin/NI-na/KHONbehold I am readyלְהֵאָסֵרle/he/a/SERto be boundוְגַם־לָמוּתve/GAM-la/MUTand also to dieבִּירוּשָׁלַיִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURfor the sake ofשֵׁםshemthe name ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהָאָדוֹן׃ha/a/DONthe Lord

    Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

14. 14

    וְלֹא־אָבָהve/LO-a/VAand he was not willingשְׁמֹעַshe/MO/ato listenוַנִּרֶףvan/NI/refand we let goמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof himוַנֹּאמַרvan/no/MARand we saidרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDיֵעָשֶׂה׃ye/a/SEbe done

    And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

15. 15

    וְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseנָשָׂאנוּna/sa/NUwe took upאֶת־כֵּלֵינוּet-ke/le/NUour baggageוַנַּעַלvan/NA/aland went upיְרוּשָׁלָיִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

    And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.

16. 16

    וַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentאִתָּנוּit/TA/nuwith usגַּם־תַּלְמִידִיםgam-tal/mi/DIMalso disciplesמִקֵּיסַרְיָהmik/Ke/sar/YAfrom Caesareaוַיָּבִיאוּvay/ya/VI/uand broughtאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusלָלוּןla/LUNto lodgeבְּבֵית־אִישׁbe/VET-ishin the house of a manקִיפְרוֹסִיKi/fe/ro/SIa Cypriotוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameמְנָסוֹןMe/na/SONMnasonוְהוּאve/HUand he wasתַלְמִידtal/MIDa discipleמִיָּמִיםmiy/ya/MIMfrom daysרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    There went with us also certain of the disciples of Cæsarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.

17. 17

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּבֹאֵנוּke/vo/e/NUwhen we cameיְרוּשָׁלָיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemוַיְקַבְּלוּvay/kab/be/LUand receivedאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brothersבְּשִׂמְחָה׃be/sim/CHAwith joy

    And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.

18. 18

    וּמִמׇּחֳרַתu/mim/mo/cho/RATand on the morrow ofהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayנִכְנַסnikh/NASwent inפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulעִמָּנוּim/MA/nuwith usאֶל־יַעֲקֹבel-Ya/a/KOVto Jamesוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand cameשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereכׇּל־הַזְּקֵנִים׃kol-haz/ze/ke/NIMall the elders

    And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.

19. 19

    וַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand he askedלָהֶםla/HEMthemלְשָׁלוֹםle/sha/LOMfor peaceוַיְסַפֵּרvay/sap/PERand he recountedאַחַתa/CHAToneלְאַחַתle/a/CHATby oneאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatעָשָׂהa/SAhad doneהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלַגּוֹיִםlag/Go/YIMfor the Gentilesבְּשֵׁרוּתוֹ׃be/she/ru/TOthrough his service

    And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.

    וַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand they heardוַיְהַלֲלוּvay/ha/la/LUand they praisedאֶת־הָאָדוֹןet-ha/a/DONthe Lordוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהִנְּךָhin/ne/KHAbehold youרֹאֶהro/Eseeאָחִינוּa/CHI/nuour brotherכַּמָּהkam/MAhow manyרִבּוֹאrib/BOmyriadsיְהוּדִיםYe/hu/DIMof JewsבָּאוּBA/uhave comeלְהַאֲמִיןle/ha/a/MINto believeוְכֻלָּםve/khul/LAMand all of themמְקַנְּאִיםme/kan/ne/IMare zealousלַתּוֹרָה׃lat/to/RAfor the law

    And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:

21. 21

    וְהֵםve/HEMand theyשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uhave heardעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaabout youלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingתְּלַמֵּדte/lam/MEDthat you teachאֶת־כׇּל־הַיְּהוּדִיםet-Kol-hay/ye/hu/DIMall the Jewsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho areבְּקֶרֶבbe/KE/revamongהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesלָסוּרla/SURto turn awayמֵאַחֲרֵיme/a/cha/REfrom afterמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesבְּאָמְרְךָbe/a/me/re/KHAas you sayכִּיkithatלֹאlonotעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themלָמוּלla/MULto circumciseאֶת־בְּנֵיהֶםet-be/ne/HEMtheir sonsוְלֹאve/LOand notלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto walkבַּחֻקּוֹת׃ba/chuk/KOTin the statutes

    And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.

22. 22

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowמַה־לַּעֲשׂוֹתma-la/a/SOTwhat is to be doneהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהֵאָסֵףhe/a/SEFbe gatheredיֵאָסֵףye/a/SEFwill be gatheredהַקָּהָלhak/ka/HALthe assemblyכִּיkiforיִשְׁמְעוּyish/me/Uthey will hearכִּי־בָאתָ׃ki-VA/tathat you have come

    What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.

23. 23

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatנֹאמַרno/MARwe sayאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youאֹתוֹo/TOitעֲשֵׂהa/SEdoהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאַרְבָּעָהar/ba/Afourאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenאִתָּנוּit/TA/nuwith usאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנֶדֶרNE/dera vowעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMon them

    Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;

24. 24

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youקַחkachtakeאֹתָםo/TAMthemוְהִטָּהֵרve/hit/ta/HERand purify yourselfאִתָּםit/TAMwith themוְשַׁלֵּםve/shal/LEMand payבַּעֲדָםba/a/DAMfor themלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיְגַלְּחוּye/gal/le/CHUthey may shaveאֶת־רֹאשָׁםet-ro/SHAMtheir headsוְיָדְעוּve/ya/de/Uand will knowכֻלָּםkhul/LAMallכִּי־שֵׁמַעki-SHE/mathat the reportשָׁוְאshavfalseשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uthey heardעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaabout youוְגַם־אַתָּהve/GAM-at/TAand also youהוֹלֵךְho/LEKHwalkכַּמִּשְׁפָּטkam/mish/PATaccording to the ruleוְשֹׁמֵרve/sho/MERand keepsאֶת־הַתּוֹרָה׃et-hat/to/RAthe law

    Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.

    וְעַל־דְּבַרve/AL-de/VARand concerningהַמַּאֲמִינִיםham/ma/a/mi/NIMthe believersמִן־הַגּוֹיִםmin-Hag/go/YIMfrom the Gentilesכָּתַבְנוּka/tav/NUwe have writtenוְגָזַרְנוּve/ga/zar/NUand decreedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotיִשְׁמְרוּyish/me/RUthey are to keepדָּבָרda/VARanythingמִן־הַדְּבָרִיםmin-had/de/va/RIMof the thingsהָהֵםha/HEMthoseרַקrakonlyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִשָּׁמְרוּyish/sha/me/RUthey keep themselvesמִזִּבְחֵיmiz/ziv/CHEfrom the sacrifices ofאֱלִילִיםe/li/LIMidolsוּמִן־הַדָּםu/MIN-had/DAMand from bloodוּמִבְּשַׂרu/mib/be/SARand from the flesh ofהַנֶּחֱנָקhan/ne/che/NAKwhat is strangledוּמִן־הַזְּנוּת׃u/MIN-haz/ze/NUTand from fornication

    As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםet-ha/a/na/SHIMthe menוַיִּטָּהֵרvay/yit/ta/HERand he purified himselfאִתָּםit/TAMwith themוּמִמׇּחֳרָתu/mim/mo/cho/RATand on the next dayבָּאbahe cameאֶל־הַמִּקְדָּשׁel-ham/mik/DASHinto the templeוַיַּגֵּדvay/yag/GEDand he declaredכִּי־מָלְאוּki-ma/le/Uthat were fulfilledיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofטׇהֳרָתָםto/ho/ra/TAMtheir purificationעַדaduntilכִּי־הָקְרַבki-ha/ke/RAVthat was offeredקׇרְבַּןkor/BANthe offering ofכׇּל־אֶחָדkol-e/CHADeach oneמֵהֶם׃me/HEMof them

    Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּמְלֹאתkim/LOTwhen were nearly fulfilledשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATthe sevenהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMdaysוְהַיְּהוּדִיםve/hay/Ye/hu/DIMand the Jewsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich wereמֵאַסְיָאme/As/YAfrom Asiaרָאוּra/Usawאֹתוֹo/TOhimבַּמִּקְדָּשׁbam/mik/DASHin the templeוַיְעוֹרֲרוּvay/o/ra/RUand stirred upאֶת־כׇּל־הֶהָמוֹןet-kol-he/ha/MONall the crowdוַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUand laidיָדָםya/DAMtheir handבּוֹ׃boon him

    And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,

    Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

    (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

30. 30

    וַתֵּהֹםvat/te/HOMand was in an uproarכׇּל־הָעִירkol-ha/IRall the cityוַיָּרׇץvay/YA/rotsand ranהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיִּקָּהֲלוּvay/yik/ka/ha/LUand gatheredוַיֹּאחֲזוּvay/yo/cha/ZUand they seizedאֶת־פּוֹלוֹסet-Po/LOSPaulוַיִּסְחָבֻהוּvay/yis/cha/vu/HUand dragged himאֶל־מִחוּץel-mi/CHUTSoutsideלַמִּקְדָּשׁlam/mik/DASHthe templeוּכְרֶגַעu/khe/RE/gaand at onceסֻגְּרוּsug/ge/RUwere shutהַדְּלָתוֹת׃had/de/la/TOTthe doors

    And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.

31. 31

    וְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyמְבַקְשִׁיםme/vak/SHIMwere seekingלַהֲמִיתוֹla/ha/mi/TOto kill himוְהַשְּׁמוּעָהve/hash/she/mu/Aand the reportבָאָהva/Acameאֶל־שַׂרel-sarto the captain ofהָאֶלֶףha/E/lefthe thousandאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלַגְּדוּדlag/ge/DUDto the cohortכִּיkithatיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemנָבוֹכָהna/VO/khawas in confusionכֻלָּהּ׃khul/LAall of it

    And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

32. 32

    וַיְמַהֵרvay/ma/HERand he hurriedוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmen ofצָבָאtsa/VAthe armyוְשָׂרֵיve/sa/REand captains ofמֵאוֹתme/OThundredsוַיָּרׇץvay/YA/rotsand he ranאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִרְאוֹתָםkhir/o/TAMwhen they sawאֶת־שַׂרet-sarthe captain ofהָאֶלֶףha/E/lefthe thousandוְאֶת־אַנְשֵׁיve/ET-an/SHEand the men ofהַצָּבָאhats/tsa/VAthe armyוַיַּחְדְּלוּvay/yach/de/LUand they stoppedלְהַכּוֹתle/hak/KOTbeatingאֶת־פּוֹלוֹס׃et-Po/LOSPaul

    Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.

33. 33

    וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHand came nearשַׂר־הָאֶלֶףsar-ha/E/lefthe captain of the thousandוַיַּחֲזֶק־בּוֹvay/YA/cha/zek-boand seized himוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedלְאָסְרוֹle/a/se/ROto bind himבִּשְׁנַיִםbish/NA/yimwith twoזִקִּיםzik/KIMchainsוַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand askedמִיmiwhoזֶהzethis wasוּמָהu/MAand whatמַעֲשֵׂהוּ׃ma/a/SE/huhis deed

    Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.

34. 34

    וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֵלֶּהEL/letheseבְכֹהve/KHOthusוְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand theseבְכֹהve/KHOthusוְלֹאve/LOand notיָכֹלya/KHOLwas he ableלָדַעַתla/DA/atto knowדָּבָרda/VARa thingבָּרוּרba/RURcertainמֵרֹבme/ROVbecause of the greatness ofהַשָּׁאוֹןhash/sha/ONthe uproarוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand he commandedלְהוֹלִיכוֹle/ho/li/KHOto bring himאֶל־הַמְצָד׃el-ham/TSADinto the fortress

    And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.

35. 35

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּבוֹאוֹke/vo/Owhen he cameעַד־הַמַּעֲלוֹתad-ham/ma/a/LOTto the stepsוַיִּשָּׂאֻהוּvay/yis/sa/U/huand carried himאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEthe men ofהַצָּבָאhats/tsa/VAthe armyמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofחֲמַתcha/MATthe fury ofהָעָם׃ha/AMthe people

    And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.

36. 36

    כִּי־עַםki-amfor a peopleרָבravmanyהֹלֵךְho/LEKHwas goingאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himוְהֵםve/HEMand theyצֹעֲקִיםtso/a/KIMcrying outוְאֹמְרִיםve/om/RIMand sayingהָסֵרha/SERremoveאֹתוֹ׃o/TOhim

    For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.

37. 37

    וְכַאֲשֶׁרve/kha/a/SHERand asהִקְרִיבhik/RIVcame nearפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulלְהוּבָאle/hu/VAto be ledאֶל־הַמְצָדel-ham/TSADinto the fortressוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֶל־שַׂרel-sarto the captain ofהָאֶלֶףha/E/lefthe thousandהֲתַנִּיחַha/tan/NI/achwill you allowלִיlimeלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERspeakאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youדָּבָרda/VARa wordוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidהֲתֵדַעha/te/DAdo you knowלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERspeakיְוָנִית׃Ye/va/NITGreek

    And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?

38. 38

    הֲלֹאha/LOare notהַמִּצְרִיham/Mits/RIthe Egyptianאַתָּהat/TAyouאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMthe daysהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseהֵעִירhe/IRstirred upמֶרֶדME/reda revoltוְהוֹצִיאve/ho/TSIand led outהַמִּדְבָּרָהham/mid/BA/rainto the wildernessאַרְבַּעַתar/BA/atfourאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmen ofדָמִים׃da/MIMblood

    Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?

39. 39

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulאִישׁisha manיְהוּדִיYe/hu/DIa Jewאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIam Iמִטַּרְסוֹסmit/Tar/SOSfrom Tarsusאֶזְרָחez/RACHa citizenבְּעִירbe/IRof a cityבַּעֲלַתba/a/LATpossessingשֵׁםshema nameאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבְּקִילִיקְיָאbe/Ki/li/ke/YAin Ciliciaוְאֶשְׁאֲלָהve/esh/a/LAand I askמֵאִתְּךָme/it/te/KHAof youהַנִּיחָהhan/NI/chaallowלִּיlimeוַאֲדַבֵּרva/a/dab/BERthat I may speakאֶל־הָעָם׃el-ha/AMto the people

    But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.

40. 40

    וַיַּנַּחvay/yan/NACHand he allowedלוֹlohimוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulעַל־הַמַּעֲלוֹתal-ham/ma/a/LOTon the stepsוַיָּנֶףvay/YA/nefand wavedיָדוֹya/DOhis handאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMto the peopleוַתְּהִיvat/te/HIand there wasדְּמָמָהde/ma/MAa silenceרַבָּהrab/BAgreatוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand he spokeבְּלָשׁוֹןbe/la/SHONin the languageעִבְרִיתIv/RITHebrewוַיֹּאמַר׃vay/yo/MARand said

    And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,
