   And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece,

   And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia.

   These going before tarried for us at Troas.

   וַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weיָצָאנוּya/TSA/nuwent outמִן־פִילִפִּיmin-Fi/lip/PIfrom Philippiאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofחַג־הַמַּצּוֹתchag-ham/mats/TSOTthe feast of unleavened breadוּמִקֵּץu/mik/KETSand at the end ofחֲמִשָּׁהcha/mish/SHAfiveיָמִיםya/MIMdaysבָּאנוּBA/nuwe cameבׇאֳנִיָּהvo/o/niy/YAby shipאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֶל־טְרוֹאַסel-Te/ro/ASto Troasוַנֵּשֶׁבvan/NE/shevand we stayedשָׁםshamthereשִׁבְעַתshiv/ATsevenיָמִים׃ya/MIMdays

   And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days.

   And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

   וְנֵרוֹתve/ne/ROTand lampsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyדֹּלְקִיםdol/KIMwere burningבָּעֲלִיָּהba/a/liy/YAin the upper roomאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereנֶאֶסְפוּne/es/FUwere gatheredשָׁם׃shamthere

   And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.

   וּבָחוּרu/va/CHURand a young manאֶחָדe/CHADoneאַבְטוּכוֹסAv/tu/KHOSEutychusשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameיֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVsittingבַּחַלּוֹןba/chal/LONin a windowוַיֵּרָדֵםvay/ye/ra/DEMand fell into deep sleepבְּהַאֲרִיךְbe/ha/a/RIKHas prolongedפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulאֶת־אִמְרָתוֹet-im/ra/TOhis speechוַתִּגְבַּרvat/tig/BARand prevailedעָלָיוa/LAYVover himשְׁנָתוֹshe/na/TOhis sleepוַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand he fellמֵהַמָּדוֹרme/ham/ma/DORfrom the storyהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdלְמַטָּהle/MAT/tadownוַיִּשָּׂאֻהוּvay/yis/sa/U/huand they picked him upוְהוּאve/HUand he wasמֵת׃metdead

   And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

    וַיֵּרֶדvay/YE/redand went downפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulוַיִּגְהַרvay/yig/HARand stretched himselfעָלָיוa/LAYVon himוַיְחַבְּקֵהוּvay/chab/be/KE/huand embraced himוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַל־תִּבָּהֲלוּal-tib/ba/ha/LUdo not be troubledכִּיkiforנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis lifeבּוֹ׃bois in him

    And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.

    וְאַחַרve/a/CHARand afterעָלָהa/LAhe went upוַיִּבְצַעvay/yiv/TSAand brokeהַלֶּחֶםhal/LE/chembreadוַיִּטְעַםvay/yit/AMand tastedוַיֶּרֶבvay/YE/revand he multipliedלָשִׂיחַla/SI/achtalkingאִתָּםit/TAMwith themעַד־אוֹרad-oruntil the light ofהַבֹּקֶרhab/BO/kerthe morningוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand he went outלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goלְדַרְכּוֹ׃le/dar/KOon his way

    When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.

    וְהֵםve/HEMand theyהֵבִיאוּhe/VI/ubroughtאֶת־הַנַּעַרet-han/NA/arthe young manחָיchayaliveוַיְנֻחֲמוּvay/nu/cha/MUand were comfortedעַד־מְאֹד׃ad-me/ODgreatly

    And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

    וַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weקִדַּמְנוּkid/dam/NUwent aheadלָרֶדֶתla/RE/detto go downבָּאֳנִיָּהba/o/niy/YAin the shipוַנַּעֲבֹרvan/na/a/VORand we crossedאַסּוֹסָהAs/so/SAto Assosלָקַחַת־שָׁםla/KA/chat-shamto take thereאִתָּנוּit/TA/nuwith usאֶת־פּוֹלוֹסet-Po/LOSPaulכִּי־כֵןki-khenfor soצִוָּהtsiv/VAhe had commandedוְהוּאve/HUand heאֹמֵרo/MERintendingלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereבְּרַגְלָיו׃be/rag/LAYVon his feet

    And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.

    וַיִּפְגֹשׁvay/yif/GOSHand he metאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusבְּאַסּוֹסbe/As/SOSat Assosוַנִּקַּחvan/nik/KACHand we tookאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַנָּבֹאvan/na/VOand cameאֶל־מִיטוּלִינִי׃el-Mi/tu/li/NIto Mitylene

    And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene.

15. 15

    וּמִשָּׁםu/mish/SHAMand from thereיָצָאנוּya/TSA/nuwe went outבׇאֳנִיָּהvo/o/niy/YAby shipוַנִּפְגַּעvan/nif/GAand we reachedמִמׇּחֳרָתmim/mo/cho/RATon the next dayאֶל־מוּלel-muloppositeכִּיּוֹסKiy/YOSChiosוּבַיּוֹםu/vay/YOMand on the dayהַשֵּׁנִיhash/she/NInextעָבַרְנוּa/VAR/nuwe crossedאֶלeltoסָמוֹסSa/MOSSamosוַנָּלֶןvan/NA/lenand we lodgedבִּטְרוֹגוּלְיוֹןBit/ro/gul/YONat Trogylliumוּלְמׇחֳרָתוֹu/le/mo/cho/ra/TOand on its next dayבָּאנוּBA/nuwe cameאֶל־מִילִיטוֹס׃el-Mi/li/TOSto Miletus

    And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.

    כִּי־פוֹלוֹסki-Fo/LOSfor Paulאָמַרa/MARhad decidedלַעֲבֹרla/a/VORto passמֵעַל־פְּנֵיme/AL-pe/NEbyאֶפֶסוֹסE/fe/SOSEphesusלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIso as notלְהִתְמַהְמֵהַּle/hit/mah/ME/ahto lingerבְּאַסְיָאbe/As/YAin Asiaכִּיkiforאָץatshe hurriedאוּלַיu/LAYif perhapsיוּכַלyu/KHALhe couldלָבוֹאla/VOcomeלְחַגle/CHAGfor the feast ofהַשָּׁבוּעוֹתHash/sha/vu/OTWeeksיְרוּשָׁלָיִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

    For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

    וּמִמִּילִיטוֹסu/Mim/mi/li/TOSand from Miletusשָׁלַחsha/LACHhe sentאֶל־אֶפֶסוֹסel-E/fe/SOSto Ephesusוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledאֶת־זִקְנֵיet-zik/NEthe elders ofהַקְּהִלָּה׃hak/ke/hil/LAthe church

    And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

18. 18

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMto themאַתֶּםat/TEMyouיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERhowהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI have beenעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youבְּכׇל־עֵתbe/KHOL-etat every timeלְמִן־הַיּוֹםle/MIN-hay/YOMfrom the dayהָרִאשׁוֹןha/ri/SHONfirstאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדָּרְכָהda/re/KHAsteppedרַגְלִיrag/LImy footבְּאַסְיָא׃be/As/YAinto Asia

    And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,

19. 19

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָבַדְתִּיa/VAD/tiI servedאֶת־הָאָדוֹןet-ha/a/DONthe Lordבְּכׇל־עֲנָוָהbe/KHOL-a/na/VAwith all humilityוּבִדְמָעוֹתu/vid/ma/OTand with tearsהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmanyוּבְמַסּוֹתu/ve/mas/SOTand with trialsהַמֹּצְאוֹתham/mots/OTthat foundאֹתִיo/TImeבְּנִכְלֵיbe/nikh/LEthrough the plots ofהַיְּהוּדִים׃hay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jews

    Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

20. 20

    וְלֹא־כִחַדְתִּיve/LO-khi/CHAD/tiand I did not hideמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youכׇּל־דְּבַרkol-de/VARany word ofתּוֹעֶלֶתto/E/letprofitוְהִגַּדְתִּיוve/hig/gad/TIVand I told itלָכֶםla/KHEMto youוְלִמַּדְתִּיve/lim/MAD/tiand I taughtאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבָּרַבִּיםba/rab/BIMin publicוּבְכׇל־בָּיִתu/ve/KHOL-BA/yitand in every houseוָבָיִת׃va/va/YITand house

    And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

21. 21

    וָאָעִידva/a/IDand I testifiedלַיְּהוּדִיםlay/Ye/hu/DIMto the Jewsוְלַיְּוָנִיםve/Lay/ye/va/NIMand to the Greeksעַל־הַתְּשׁוּבָהal-hat/te/shu/VAabout the repentanceלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godוְעַלve/ALand aboutהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAthe faithבַּאֲדֹנֵינוּba/a/do/NE/nuin our LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

22. 22

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iהֹלֵךְho/LEKHam goingיְרוּשָׁלָיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֲסִירa/SIRa prisoner ofהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritוְלֹאve/LOand notאֵדַעe/DAknowingמַה־יִּקְרֵנִיma-yik/re/NIwhat will befall meשָׁם׃shamthere

    And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

23. 23

    אֶפֶסE/fesexceptכִּי־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁki-RU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthat the Holy Spiritמֵעִידme/IDtestifiesבְּכׇל־עִירbe/KHOL-irin every cityוָעִירva/IRand cityלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכִּי־מוֹסֵרוֹתki-mo/se/ROTthat bondsוְצָרוֹתve/tsa/ROTand troublesנָכוֹנוּna/KHO/nuare ready forלִי׃lime

    Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

24. 24

    וְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIand Iלֹאlonotאֶשְׁעֶהesh/EI regardלְאַחַתle/a/CHATfor oneמֵהֵנָּהme/HEN/naof themוְגַם־נַפְשִׁיve/GAM-naf/SHIand also my soulלֹאlonotיָקְרָהya/ke/RAis preciousבְעֵינָיve/e/NAYin my eyesלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatאֲכַלֶּהa/khal/LEI might finishבְּשִׂמְחָהbe/sim/CHAwith joyאֶת־מְרוּצָתִיet-me/ru/tsa/TImy raceוְאֶת־הַשֵּׁרוּתve/ET-hash/she/RUTand the serviceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatקִבַּלְתִּיkib/bal/TII have receivedמֵאֵתme/ETfromהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלְהָעִידle/ha/IDto testifyעַל־בְּשׂוֹרַתal-be/so/RATto the good news ofחֶסֶדCHE/sedthe grace ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIיֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowכִּיkithatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouכֻּלְּכֶםkul/le/KHEMall of youאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהִתְהַלַּכְתִּיhit/hal/LAKH/tiI walkedבְּקִרְבְּכֶםbe/kir/be/KHEMamong youהָלוֹךְha/LOKHgoingוְהַשְׁמֵעַve/hash/ME/aand proclaimingאֶת־מַלְכוּתet-mal/KHUTthe kingdom ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDכִּיkithatלֹא־תוֹסִיפוּlo-to/SI/fuyou will not continueעוֹדodagainרְאוֹתre/OTto seeפָּנָי׃pa/NAYmy face

    And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

26. 26

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeמֵעִידme/IDtestifyאֲנִיa/NIIבָכֶםva/KHEMto youהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּי־נָקִיki-na/KIthat cleanאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amמִדְּמֵיmid/de/MEfrom the blood ofכׇּל־אָדָם׃kol-a/DAMall men

    Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

27. 27

    כִּיkiforלֹאlonotכִחַדְתִּיkhi/CHAD/tidid I hold backמֵהַגִּידme/hag/GIDfrom tellingלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֶת־עֲצַתet-a/TSATthe counsel ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכֻּלָּהּ׃kul/LAall of it

    For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

28. 28

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeשִׁמְרוּshim/RUguardאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹתֵיכֶםet-naf/sho/te/KHEMyour soulsוְאֶת־כׇּל־הָעֵדֶרve/ET-kol-ha/E/derand all the flockאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבּוֹboin itהֵקִיםhe/KIMhas setאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritלִפְקִידִיםlif/ki/DIMas overseersלִרְעוֹתlir/OTto shepherdאֶת־עֲדַתet-a/DATthe congregation ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatקָנָה־לוֹka/NA-loHe acquired for Himselfבְּדָמוֹ׃be/da/MOwith His blood

    Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

29. 29

    כִּיkiforיֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowאֲנִיa/NIIאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterצֵאתִיtse/TImy going outיָבוֹאוּya/VO/uwill comeבְתוֹכְכֶםve/tokh/KHEMamong youזְאֵבִיםze/e/VIMwolvesעַזִּיםaz/ZIMfierceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יָחוּסוּlo-ya/chu/SUwill not spareעַל־הָעֵדֶר׃al-ha/E/derthe flock

    For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

30. 30

    וְגַם־מִקִּרְבְּכֶםve/GAM-mik/kir/be/KHEMand also from among youיָקוּמוּya/KU/muwill riseאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenדֹּבְרֵיdov/REspeakingתַהְפֻּכוֹתtah/pu/KHOTperversitiesלְהַטּוֹתle/hat/TOTto turnאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themאֶת־הַתַּלְמִידִים׃et-hat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciples

    Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

31. 31

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeשְׁקֹדוּshe/ko/DUkeep watchוְזִכְרוּve/zikh/RUand rememberכִּיkithatשָׁלֹשׁsha/LOSHthreeשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsיוֹמָםyo/MAMby dayוָלַיְלָהva/LAY/laand nightלֹאlonotחָדַלְתִּיcha/dal/TIdid I ceaseלְהַזְהִירle/haz/HIRto warnאֶת־כׇּל־אֶחָדet-kol-e/CHADevery oneמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youבְּדִמְעָה׃be/dim/Awith tears

    Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

32. 32

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersאַפְקִידְכֶםaf/ki/de/KHEMI commend youלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godוְלִדְבַרve/lid/VARand to the word ofחַסְדּוֹchas/DOHis graceאֲשֶׁר־לוֹa/SHER-lothat hasהָעֹזha/OZthe strengthלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto build upאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוְלָתֵתve/la/TETand to giveלָכֶםla/KHEMyouנַחֲלָהna/cha/LAan inheritanceבְּקֶרֶבbe/KE/revamongכׇּל־הַמְקֻדָּשִׁים׃kol-ham/kud/da/SHIMall who are sanctified

    And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

33. 33

    לֹאlonotחָמַדְתִּיcha/mad/TIhave I covetedכֶּסֶףKE/sefsilverאִישׁishof a manאוֹoorזְהָבוֹze/ha/VOgoldאוֹoorלְבוּשׁוֹ׃le/vu/SHOhis clothing

    I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

34. 34

    וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowכִּי־יָדַיki-ya/DAYthat my handsאֵלֶּהEL/letheseעָשׂוּa/SUhave workedבְּעַדbe/ADforצְרָכַיtse/ra/KHAYmy necessitiesוּבְעַדu/ve/ADand forצׇרְכֵיtsor/KHEthe necessities ofהַהֹלְכִיםha/hol/KHIMthose who wentאִתִּי׃it/TIwith me

    Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

35. 35

    וּבַכֹּלu/vak/KOLand in allהֶרְאֵיתִיher/e/TII have shownאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouכִּיkihow thatכֵןkhensoעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMon youלַעֲמֹלla/a/MOLto laborלִתְמֹךְlit/MOKHto supportאֶת־הַחַלָּשִׁיםet-ha/chal/la/SHIMthe weakוְלִזְכֹּרve/liz/KORand to rememberאֶת־דִּבְרֵיet-div/REthe words ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusכִּי־הוּאki-huthat heאָמַרa/MARsaidטוֹבtovbetterתֵּתtetto giveמִקַּחַת׃mik/KA/chatthan to take

    I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

36. 36

    וְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand whenדַבְּרוֹdab/be/ROhis speakingאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכָּרַעka/RAhe kneltעַל־בִּרְכָּיוal-bir/KAYVon his kneesוַיִּתְפַּלֵּלvay/yit/pal/LELand prayedעִם־כֻּלָּם׃im-kul/LAMwith them all

    And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

37. 37

    וַיִּבְכּוּvay/yiv/KUand they weptכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themבְּכִיbe/KHIa weepingגָדוֹלga/DOLgreatוַיִּפְּלוּvay/yip/pe/LUand fellעַל־צַוְּארֵיal-tsav/ve/REon the neck ofפוֹלוֹסFo/LOSPaulוַיְנַשְּׁקוּvay/nash/she/KUand kissedלוֹ׃lohim

    And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,

38. 38

    וּבְיוֹתֵרu/ve/yo/TERand most of allהִתְעַצְּבוּhit/ats/tse/VUthey grievedעַל־הַדָּבָרal-had/da/VARover the wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatדִּבֵּרdib/BERhe spokeכִּיkithatלֹא־יוֹסִיפוּlo-yo/SI/futhey would not continueעוֹדodagainלִרְאוֹתlir/OTseeפָּנָיוpa/NAYVhis faceוַיְלַוֻּהוּvay/lav/vu/HUand they escorted himאֶל־הׇאֳנִיָּה׃el-ho/o/niy/YAto the ship

    Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.
