1. 1

   וַיְהִיAnd-it-came-to-pass,בִּהְיוֹתthat,-while-wasאַפּוֹלוֹסApollosבְּקוֹרִנְתּוֹסat-Corinth,וַיַּעֲבֹרhaving-passed-throughפּוֹלוֹסPaulבַּמְּדִינוֹתthe-coastsהָעֶלְיוֹנֹתupperוַיֵּרֶדcame-downאֶל־אֶפֶסוֹסto-Ephesus:וַיִּמְצָא־שָׁםand-finding-thereתַּלְמִידִים׃certain-disciples,

   And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

   וַיֹּאמֶרHe-saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto-them,הֲנִתְּנָהHave-you-receivedבָכֶםin-youרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁthe-Holy-Ghostאַחֲרֵיsinceאֲשֶׁרthatהֶאֱמַנְתֶּםyou-believed?וַיֹּאמְרוּAnd-they-saidאֵלָיוunto-him,אַףso-much-asלֹאWe-have-notשָׁמַעְנוּheardכִּיwhetherיֵשׁthere-be-anyרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃the-Holy-Ghost.

   He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

   וַיֹּאמֶרAnd-he-saidאֲלֵיהֶםunto-them,עַל־מָהUnto-whatאֵפוֹאthenהָטְבַּלְתֶּםwere-you-baptized?וַיֹּאמְרוּAnd-they-said,טְבִילַתUnto-the-baptism-ofיוֹחָנָן׃John.

   And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

   וַיֹּאמֶרThen-saidפּוֹלוֹסPaul,יוֹחָנָןJohnהִטְבִּילverily-baptized-withטְבִילַתthe-baptism-ofהַתְּשׁוּבָהrepentance,וְאָמַרsayingאֶל־הָעָםunto-the-people,שֶׁיַּאֲמִינוּthat-they-should-believeבַּאֲשֶׁרon-him-whichיָבוֹאshould-comeאַחֲרָיוafter-him,וְהוּאthat-is,-onהַמָּשִׁיחַChristיֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus.

   Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

   וַיְהִיAnd-it-came-to-passכְּשׇׁמְעָםWhen-they-heardאֶת־הַדָּבָרwordהַזֶּהthis,וַיִּטָּבְלוּthey-were-baptizedבְּשֵׁםin-the-name-ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהָאָדוֹן׃the-Lord.

   When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6. 6

   וַיִּסְמֹךְAnd-when-had-laidפּוֹלוֹסPaulיָדָיוhis-handsעֲלֵיהֶםupon-them,וַתָּבֹאcameעֲלֵיהֶםon-them;רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁthe-Holy-Ghostוַיְמַלֲלוּand-they-spakeבִלְשֹׁנוֹתwith-tongues,וַיִּתְנַבָּאוּ׃and-prophesied.

   And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

   וְכֻלָּםAnd-all-the-men-wereכִּשְׁנֵיםabout-two-andעָשָׂרtenאִישׁ׃men.

   And all the men were about twelve.

8. 8

   וַיָּבֹאAnd-he-wentאֶל־בֵּיתinto-the-house-ofהַכְּנֵסֶתthe-synagogue,וַיִּקְרָא־שָׁםand-spake-thereבְּאֹמֶץboldlyלִבּוֹof-heartוַיְדַבֵּרdisputingעִמָּםwith-themכִּשְׁלשָׁהfor-the-space-of-threeחֳדָשִׁיםmonths,וַיַּטand-persuadingאֶת־לִבָּםtheir-heartsאֶל־מַלְכוּתthe-things-concerning-the-kingdom-ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God.

   And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

   וּמִקְצָתָםBut-when-diversהִקְשׁוּwere-hardenedאֶת־לְבָבָםin-their-hearts,וְלֹאand-notהֶאֱמִינוּbelieved,וַיְדַבְּרוּbut-spakeסָרָהevilעַל־הַדֶּרֶךְof-wayהַהוּאthatלִפְנֵיbeforeהַקָּהָלthe-multitude,וַיָּסַרhe-departedמֵהֶםfrom-them,וַיַּבְדֵּלand-separatedמִתּוֹכָםfrom-among-themאֶת־הַתַּלְמִידִיםthe-disciples,וַיְדַבֵּרdisputingאֲלֵיהֶםto-themיוֹםdailyיוֹםby-dayבְּבֵיתin-the-house-ofהַמִּדְרָשׁthe-schoolאֲשֶׁרof-oneלְטוּרְנוּס׃Tyrannus.

   But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

    וְכֵןAnd-this-continuedכִּשְׁנָתַיִםby-the-space-of-two-yearsיָמִיםof-days;וַיִּשְׁמְעוּso-that-heardכׇּל־יֹשְׁבֵיall-they-which-dwelt-inאַסְיָאAsiaהַיְּהוּדִיםboth-Jewsוְהַיְּוָנִיםand-Greeksאֶת־דְּבַרthe-word-ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהָאָדוֹן׃the-Lord.

    And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

11. 11

    וְהָאֱלֹהִיםAnd-Godעָשָׂהwroughtגְּבוּרוֹתmiraclesגְּדֹלוֹתspecialעַל־יְדֵיby-the-hands-ofפוֹלוֹס׃Paul:

    And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12. 12

    עַדSo-thatלְהַנִּיחַwere-broughtסוּדָרִיםhandkerchiefsוַחֲגֹרֹתor-apronsמֵעַל־עוֹרfrom-the-skin-ofבְּשָׂרוֹhis-bodyעַל־הַחוֹלִיםunto-the-sick,וַיָּסוּרוּand-departedמֵהֶםfrom-them,תַּחֲלֻאֵיהֶםthe-diseasesוְגַם־הָרוּחוֹתand-the-spiritsהָרָעוֹתevilיָצָאוּ׃went-out-of-them.

    So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

13. 13

    וַאֲנָשִׁיםThen-certain-menמִן־הַיְּהוּדִיםof-the-Jews,נְבוֹנֵיskilled-inלַחַשׁexorcism,וְסֹבֲבִיםvagabondבָּאָרֶץin-the-land,הוֹאִילוּtook-upon-themלְהַזְכִּירto-callאֶת־שֵׁםthe-name-ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordעַל־אֲחוּזֵיover-them-which-hadהָרוּחוֹתthe-spiritsהָרָעוֹתevil,לֵאמֹרsaying,מַשְׁבִּיעַadjureאֲנִיWeאֶתְכֶםyouבְּיֵשׁוּעַby-JesusאֲשֶׁרwhomפּוֹלוֹסPaulקֹרֵאpreachethבִשְׁמוֹ׃in-his-name.

    Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14. 14

    וְהָעֹשִׂיםAnd-they-which-didהַדָּבָרthingהַזֶּהsoשִׁבְעַתwere-sevenבְּנֵיsons-ofסְקֵוָהone-Sceva,הַיְּהוּדִיa-Jew,מִגְּדוֹלֵיand-chief-ofהַכֹּהֲנִים׃the-priests.

    And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15. 15

    וַיַּעַןAnd-answeredהָרוּחַthe-evil-spiritוַיֹּאמַרand-said,אֶת־יֵשׁוּעַJesusאֲנִיIמַכִּירknow,וְאֶת־פּוֹלוֹסand-PaulאֲנִיIיֹדֵעַknow;וְאַתֶּםbut-youמִיwhoאַתֶּם׃are-you?

    And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16. 16

    וַיִּתְנַפֵּלAnd-leapedעֲלֵיהֶםon-themבַּעַלthe-man-in-whom-wasהָרוּחַthe-spiritהָרָעָהevil,וַיִּגְבַּרand-prevailedעֲלֵיהֶםagainst-them,וַיִּכְבְּשֵׁםand-overcame-them,וַיָּנוּסוּso-that-they-fledמִן־הַבַּיִתout-of-houseהַהוּאthatעֵירֻמִּיםnakedוּפְצוּעִים׃and-wounded.

    And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

17. 17

    וַיִּוָּדַעAnd-was-knownהַדָּבָרthisלְכׇל־הַיְּהוּדִיםto-all-the-Jewsוְהַיְּוָנִיםand-Greeks-alsoיֹשְׁבֵיdwelling-atאֶפֶסוֹסEphesus;וַיִּפֹּלand-fellפַּחַדfearעַל־כֻּלָּםon-them-all,וַיִּגְדַלand-was-magnifiedשֵׁםthe-name-ofהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordיֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus.

    And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

18. 18

    וְרַבִּיםAnd-manyמִן־הַמַּאֲמִינִיםthat-believedבָּאוּcame,וַיִּתְוַדּוּand-confessed,וַיּוֹדִיעוּand-shewedאֶת־אֲשֶׁרthat-whichעָשׂוּ׃they-did.

    And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19. 19

    וְרַבִּיםMany-alsoאֲשֶׁרwhichעָשְׂקוּusedבְּהַבְלֵיthe-vanities-ofכְשָׁפִיםcurious-artsהֵבִיאוּbrought-togetherאֶת־סִפְרֵיהֶםtheir-books,וַיִּשְׂרְפוּםand-burned-themבָּאֵשׁin-the-fireלְעֵינֵיbeforeכֹלall-men:וַיְחַשְּׁבוּand-they-countedאֶת־מְחִירָםthe-price-of-them,וְהִנֵּהand-foundהוּאitחָמֵשׁfiveרִבּוֹten-thousandsדִּינָרִים׃pieces-of-silver.

    Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20. 20

    וּדְבָרSo-the-word-ofיְהוָֹהGodגָּבַרprevailedמְאֹדmightilyוַיֵּלֶךְand-wentהָלֹךְgrowingוְחָזֵק׃and-strong.

    So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

21. 21

    וַיְהִיAnd-it-came-to-passכִּכְלוֹתAfter-were-ended,הַדְּבָרִיםthingsהָאֵלֶּהtheseוַיִּוָּעַץpurposedפּוֹלוֹסPaulבְּרוּחוֹin-the-spirit,לַעֲבֹרwhen-he-had-passedבְּתוֹךְthroughמַקְדּוֹנְיָאMacedoniaוַאֲכַיָּאand-Achaia,לָלֶכֶתto-goיְרוּשָׁלָיִםto-Jerusalem,וַיֹּאמֶרsaying,אַחֲרֵיAfterהֱיוֹתִיI-have-beenשָׁמָּהthere,רָאֹהmust-alsoאֶרְאֶהI-seeגַּםalsoאֶת־רוֹמִי׃Rome.

    After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

22. 22

    וַיִּשְׁלַחSo-he-sentשְׁנַיִםtwoמִן־הַמְּשָׁרְתִיםof-them-that-ministered-untoאֹתוֹhim,אֶל־מַקְדּוֹנְיָאinto-Macedonia,אֶת־טִימוֹתִיּוֹסTimotheusוְאֶתandאֲרִסְטוֹסErastus;וְהוּאbut-he-himselfעָשָׂהstayedעוֹדfor-a-seasonיָמִיםof-daysבְּאַסְיָא׃in-Asia.

    So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.

23. 23

    וַתְּהִיAnd-there-aroseבָּעֵתat-the-timeהַהִיאsameמְהוּמָהa-stirגְדוֹלָהno-smallעַל־אֹדוֹתaboutדֶּרֶךְthe-way-ofיְהוָֹה׃the-Lord.

    And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.

24. 24

    כִּי־צוֹרֵףFor-a-smith-ofכֶּסֶףsilverאֶחָדa-certain-manדְּמַטְרִיּוֹסDemetriusשְׁמוֹnamed,עֹשֵׂהwhich-madeהֵיכְלֵיshrines-ofכֶסֶףsilverשֶׁל־אַרְטְמִיסfor-Diana,הִמְצִיאbroughtלֶחָרָשִׁיםunto-the-craftsmenשָׂכָרgainהַרְבֵּה׃no-small;

    For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

25. 25

    וַיַּקְהֵלWhom-he-called-togetherאֹתָםthemוְאֶת־יֶתֶרwith-the-rest-ofהָעֹסְקִיםthe-workmenבַּמְּלָאכָהof-occupationהַהִיאlike,וַיֹּאמַרand-said,אֲנָשִׁיםSirs,אַתֶּםyouיֹדְעִיםknowכִּיthatמִן־הַמְּלָאכָהby-craftהַזֹּאתthisעָשִׂינוּwe-haveחָיִל׃our-wealth.

    Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

26. 26

    וְאַתֶּםMoreover-youרֹאִיםseeוְשֹׁמְעִיםand-hear,אֲשֶׁרthatלֹאnotבְאֶפֶסוֹסat-Ephesusלְבַדָּהalone,כִּי־גַםbutכִּמְעַטalmostבְּאַסְיָאthroughout-Asiaכֻלָּהּall,זֶהthisפוֹלוֹסPaulפִּתָּהhath-persuadedוְהִדִּיחַand-turned-awayהֲמוֹןmuchעַם־רָבpeople,לֵאמֹרsayingלֹא־אֱלֹהִיםthat-they-be-no-gods,אֵלֶּהtheseהַנַּעֲשִׂיםwhich-are-madeבְּיָדָיִם׃with-hands:

    Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:

27. 27

    וְעַתָּהSo-that-nowעוֹדyetמְעַטa-littleוְחֶלְקֵנוּand-our-craftזֶהthisיִהְיֶהis-in-dangerלְבוּזto-be-set-at-nought;וְגַם־הֵיכַלbut-also-the-temple-ofאַרְטְמִיסDianaהַמְּלֶכֶתthe-goddessהַגְּדוֹלָהgreatיֵחָשֵׁבshould-be-despisedלְאַיִןat-nought,וְתִכְלֶהand-should-be-destroyedתִפְאַרְתָּהּher-magnificence,אֲשֶׁרwhomכׇּל־אַסְיָאall-Asiaוְכׇל־יֹשְׁבֵיand-all-the-dwellers-ofתֵבֵלthe-worldמְכַבְּדִיםworshippethאוֹתָהּ׃her.

    So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

28. 28

    וַיְהִיAnd-it-came-to-passכְּשָּׁמְעָםwhen-they-heardאֶת־דְּבָרָיוthese-sayings,וַיִּמָּלְאוּthey-were-fullחֵמָהof-wrath,וַיִּצְעֲקוּand-cried-out,וַיֹּאמְרוּsaying,גְּדוֹלָהGreat-isאַרְטְמִיסDianaשֶׁלofהָאֶפֶסִים׃the-Ephesians.

    And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

29. 29

    וַתִּמָּלֵאAnd-was-filledכׇל־הָעִירthe-whole-cityמְבוּכָהwith-confusion:וַיִּסְעֲרוּand-they-rushedכֻלָּםallיַחְדָּוwith-one-accordאֶל־הַתֵּאַטְרוֹןinto-the-theater,וַיַּחְטְפוּand-having-caughtאִתָּםwith-themאֶת־גָּיוֹסGaiusוְאֶת־אֲרִסְטַרְכוֹסand-Aristarchus,וְהֵםmen-beingמַקְדּוֹנִיםof-Macedonia,וַחֲבֵרִיםcompanionsלְפוֹלוֹסof-Paulבְּמַסָּעָיו׃in-travel.

    And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

30. 30

    וַיֹּאֶלAnd-when-would-haveפּוֹלוֹסPaulלָבוֹאentered-inאֶל־תּוֹךְuntoהָעָםthe-people,וְלֹא־הִנִּיחוּsuffered-notלוֹhimהַתַּלְמִידִים׃the-disciples.

    And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

31. 31

    וְגַם־מִקְצָתAnd-certain-ofרָאשֵׁיthe-chief-ofאַסְיָאAsia,אֲשֶׁרwhichהָיוּwereאֹהֲבָיוhis-friends,שָׁלְחוּsentאֵלָיוunto-him,וַיַּזְהִירוּdesiringאֹתוֹhimאֲשֶׁרthatלֹא־יִמְלָאֵהוּhe-would-not-adventureלִבּוֹhimselfלָבוֹאto-comeאֶל־הַתֵּאַטְרוֹן׃into-the-theater.

    And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.

32. 32

    וַיִּצְעֲקוּ־שָׁםSome-therefore-cried-thereאֵלֶּהsomeבְּכֹהone-thing,וְאֵלֶּהand-someבְּכֹהanother:כִּיforמְבוּכָהconfusedגְדוֹלָהgreatlyהָיְתָהwasבַקָּהָלthe-assembly;וְרֻבָּםand-the-more-partלֹאnotיָדְעוּknewעַל־מַה־זֶּהwhereforeנֶאֱסָפוּ׃they-were-come-together.

    Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

33. 33

    וַיִּמְשְׁכוּAnd-they-drewמִתּוֹךְout-ofהֶהָמוֹןthe-multitudeאֶת־אֲלֶכְסַנְדְּרוֹסAlexander,וְהַיְּהוּדִיםthe-Jewsדָּחוּputting-forwardאֹתוֹhimעַד־צֵאתוֹuntil-he-came-forth.וַיָּנֶףAnd-beckonedאֲלֶכְסַנְדְּרוֹסAlexanderאֶת־יָדוֹwith-the-hand,וַיְבַקֵּשׁand-wouldלְהִצְטַדֵּקhave-made-his-defenseלִפְנֵיuntoהָעָם׃the-people.

    And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.

34. 34

    וְהֵמָּהBut-theyכְּהַכִּירָםwhen-they-knewכִּי־הוּאthat-he-wasיְהוּדִיa-Jew,נָשְׂאוּlifted-upכֻלָּםall-with-oneקוֹלָםvoiceוַיִּצְעֲקוּand-cried-outכִּשְׁתֵּיabout-the-space-of-twoשָׁעוֹתhours,לֵאמֹרsaying,גְּדוֹלָהGreat-isאַרְטְמִיסDianaשֶׁל־הָאֶפֶסִים׃of-the-Ephesians.

    But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

35. 35

    וַיַּהַסAnd-when-had-appeasedסוֹפֵרthe-clerk-ofהָעִירthe-townאֶת־הָעָםthe-people,וַיֹּאמַרhe-said,אַנְשֵׁיYou-men-ofאֶפֶסוֹסEphesus,מִיwhatהָאִישׁmanאֲשֶׁרis-there-thatלֹאnotיֵדַעknowethכִּיhow-thatהָעִירthe-city-ofאֶפֶסוֹסthe-Ephesiansסֹכֶנֶתis-a-worshipperלְהֵיכׇלof-the-templeשֶׁל־אַרְטְמִיסof-Dianaהַמְּלֶכֶתthe-goddessהַגְּדוֹלָהgreat,וּלְצַלְמָהּand-of-the-imageהַיּוֹרֵדwhich-fell-downמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃from-Jupiter?

    And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

36. 36

    וַיַּעַןSeeing-thenאֲשֶׁרthatאֵיןcannotלְכַחֵשׁbe-spoken-againstבַּדְּבָרִיםthingsהָאֵלֶּהthese,נָאֶהoughtלָכֶםyouלִהְיוֹתto-beשֹׁקְטִיםquiet,וְלֹאand-nothingעֹשִׂיםto-doדָבָרthingנִמְהָר׃rashly.

    Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.

37. 37

    כִּיForהַבֵאתֶםyou-have-brought-hitherאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםmenהָאֵלֶּהthese,אֲשֶׁרwhich-areלֹאneitherגֹּזְלֵי־קֳדָשִׁיםrobbers-of-churchesהֵםthey,אַף־לֹאnor-yetמְגַדְּפֵיblasphemers-ofמַלְכַּתְכֶם׃your-goddess.

    For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.

38. 38

    לָכֵןWhereforeאִם־לִדְמַטְרִיוֹסif-Demetrius,וְלֶחָרָשִׁיםand-the-craftsmenאֲשֶׁרwhich-areאִתּוֹwith-him,דְּבַר־רִיבhave-a-matterעִם־אִישׁagainst-any-man,הִנֵּהbeholdיְמֵיthe-days-ofבֵית־דִּיןthe-law-are-openלָנוּto-us,וְשָׂרֵיand-there-are-deputies-ofמְדִינָהthe-province:וְיָבִיאוּlet-them-impleadאֲלֵיהֶםone-anotherאֶת־רִיבָם׃their-matter.

    Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.

39. 39

    וְאִם־תְּבַקְשׁוּBut-if-you-inquireדָּבָרany-thingאַחֵרconcerning-other-matters,שָׁפוֹטdeterminedיִשָּׁפֵטit-shall-beבָּעֵדָהin-the-assemblyהַנִּקְהָלָהgatheredכַּדָּת׃lawful.

    But if ye inquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.

    וְעוֹדForכִּיbecauseבָּאִיםareאֲנַחְנוּweלִידֵיinסַכָּנָהdangerלִהְיוֹתto-beנִדֹּנִיםcalled-in-questionעַל־הַמֶּרֶדfor-the-uproarבִּגְלַלbecause-ofמַעֲשֵׂהthe-deed-ofהַיּוֹםdayהַזֶּהthis,וְדָבָרand-causeאֵיןthere-being-noלָנוּto-usלָתֵתwhereby-we-may-giveדִּיןan-accountוְחֶשְׁבּוֹןand-reckoningעַל־הַמְּהוּמָהof-concourseהַזֹּאת׃this.

    For we are in danger to be called in question for this day's uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.

41. 41

    וַיְהִיAnd-it-came-to-passכַּאֲשֶׁרwhenכִּלָּהhe-had-finishedלְדַבֵּרspeakingכַּדְּבָרִיםwordsהָאֵלֶּהthus,וַיְשַׁלַּחhe-dismissedאֶת־הַקָּהָל׃the-assembly.

    And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.
