   After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;

   And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

   כִּיkiforבְּנֵיbe/NEsons ofאֻמָּנוּתum/ma/NUTcraftאַחַתa/CHAToneהֵםhemthey wereוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he stayedאִתָּםit/TAMwith themוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he workedבִּמְלָאכָהbim/la/KHAat the workוְאֻמָּנוּתָםve/um/ma/nu/TAMand their craft wasעֹשִׂיםo/SIMmakingיְרִיעוֹתye/ri/OTcurtains ofאֹהָלִים׃o/ha/LIMtents

   And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

   וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand he spokeבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהַכְּנֶסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyבְּכׇל־שַׁבָּתbe/KHOL-shab/BATevery sabbathוְשַׁבָּתve/shab/BATand sabbathוַיּוֹכַחvay/YO/khachand he reasonedאֶל־הַיְּהוּדִיםel-Hay/ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsוְאֶל־הַיְּוָנִים׃ve/EL-hay/ye/va/NIMand the Greeks

   And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

   וּכְבוֹאu/khe/VOand when cameסִילָאSi/LASilasוְטִימוֹתִיּוֹסve/Ti/mo/tiy/YOSand Timotheusמִמַּקְדּוֹנְיָאmim/Mak/don/YAfrom MacedoniaפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulנִלְחַץnil/CHATSwas pressedבָּרוּחַba/RU/achin the spiritלְהָעִידle/ha/IDto testifyאֶל־הַיְּהוּדִיםel-Hay/ye/hu/DIMto the JewsכִּיkithatיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהוּאhuisהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

   And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכִּיkiwhenהִמְרוּhim/RUthey rebelledוְגִדְּפוּve/gid/de/FUand reviledוַיְנַעֵרvay/na/ERand he shook outאֶת־בְּגָדָיוet-be/ga/DAYVhis clothingוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themדִּמְכֶםdim/KHEMyour bloodבְּרָאשֵׁיכֶםbe/ra/she/KHEMis on your headsוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIand I amנָקִיna/KIcleanמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom nowאֵלְכָה־לִּיel/KHA-liI will goאֶל־הַגּוֹיִם׃el-Hag/go/YIMto the Gentiles

   And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

   וַיֵּלֵךְvay/ye/LEKHand he wentמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameאֶל־בֵּיתel-betinto the house ofאִישׁisha manוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameיוּסְטוֹסYus/TOSJustusוְהָאִישׁve/ha/ISHand the manיְרֵאye/REfearedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוּבֵיתוֹu/ve/TOand his houseסָמוּךְsa/MUKHwas adjoiningלְבֵיתle/VETto the house ofהַכְּנֶסֶת׃hak/ke/NE/setassembly

   And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

   וּקְרִיסְפּוֹסu/Ke/ris/POSand Crispusרֹאשׁroshthe chief ofבֵּית־הַכְּנֶסֶתbet-hak/ke/NE/setthe house of the assemblyהֶאֱמִיןhe/e/MINbelievedבָּאָדוֹןba/a/DONon the Lordהוּאhuheוְכׇל־בֵּיתוֹve/KHOL-be/TOand all his houseוְגַםve/GAMand alsoקוֹרִנְתִּיםKo/rin/TIMof the Corinthiansרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uheardוַיַּאֲמִינוּvay/ya/a/MI/nuand believedוַיִּטָּבֵלוּ׃vay/yit/ta/ve/LUand were baptized

   And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

   וּדְבַרu/de/VARand the word ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordהָיָהha/YAcameאֶל־פּוֹלוֹסel-Po/LOSto Paulבַּמַּחֲזֶהbam/ma/cha/ZEin the visionבַלַּיְלָהval/LAY/lain the nightלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאַל־תִּירָאal-ti/RAdo not fearכִּיkibutאִםimonlyדַּבֵּרdab/BERspeakוְאַל־תֶּחֱשֶׁה׃ve/AL-te/che/SHEand do not be silent

   Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10. 10

    כִּי־עִמְּךָki-im/me/KHAfor with youאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amוְאִישׁve/ISHand a manאַל־יִגַּעal-yig/GAwill not touchבְּךָbe/KHAyouלְהָרַעle/ha/RAto hurtלָךְlakhyouכִּי־עַםki-amfor a peopleרַבravgreatלִיliI haveבָּעִירba/IRin the cityהַזֹּאת׃haz/ZOTthis

    For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

11. 11

    וַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he stayedשָׁםshamthereשָׁנָהsha/NAa yearוְשִׁשָּׁהve/shish/SHAand sixחֳדָשִׁיםcho/da/SHIMmonthsוַיְלַמֵּדvay/lam/MEDand taughtבְּקִרְבָּםbe/kir/BAMamong themאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

12. 12

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבִּהְיוֹתbih/YOTwhen wasגַּלִּיּוֹןGal/liy/YONGallioשַׂרsarruler ofמְדִינַתme/di/NATthe province ofאֲכַיָּאA/khay/YAAchaiaוַיָּקוּמוּvay/ya/KU/muand roseהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherעַל־פּוֹלוֹסal-Po/LOSagainst Paulוַיְבִיאֻהוּvay/vi/U/huand brought himלִפְנֵי־כִסֵּאlif/NE-khis/SEbefore the seat ofהַמִּשְׁפָּט׃ham/mish/PATjudgment

    And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisמֵסִיתme/SITis incitingאֶת־בְּנֵיet-be/NEthe sons ofהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmenלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto serveאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodלֹאlonotכַתּוֹרָה׃khat/to/RAaccording to the law

    Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

14. 14

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַךְ־בִּקֵּשׁakh-bik/KESHjust as soughtפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulלִפְתֹּחַlif/TO/achto openאֶת־פִּיוet-pivhis mouthוְגַלִּיּוֹןve/Gal/liy/YONand Gallioהִקְדִּימוֹhik/di/MOwent before himוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־הַיְּהוּדִיםel-Hay/ye/hu/DIMto the Jewsלוּ־הָיָהlu-ha/YAif it wereדְבַר־פֶּשַׁעde/VAR-PE/shaa matter of transgressionאוֹ־נְבָלָהo-ne/va/LAor a disgraceיְהוּדִיםYe/hu/DIMO Jewsכִּי־עַתָּהki-at/TAthen nowנָשָׂאתִיna/SA/tiI would liftפְנֵיכֶםfe/ne/KHEMyour faceכַּמִּשְׁפָּט׃kam/mish/PATaccording to the judgment

    And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:

15. 15

    אֲבָלa/VALbutאִם־הִיאim-hiif it isשְׁאֵלָהshe/e/LAa questionעַל־מִלִּיןal-mil/LINabout wordsוְשֵׁמוֹתve/she/MOTand namesוְדַתְכֶםve/dat/KHEMand of your lawרְאוּre/Useeאַתֶּםat/TEMyourselvesוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iלֹאlonotאֶהְיֶהeh/YEwill beשֹׁפֵטsho/FETjudgeבֵּין־דְּבָרִיםben-de/va/RIMbetween thingsכָּאֵלֶּה׃ka/EL/lelike these

    But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.

16. 16

    וַיְגָרֶשׁvay/GA/reshand he droveאֹתָםo/TAMthemמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEfrom beforeכִּסֵּאkis/SEthe seat ofהַמִּשְׁפָּט׃ham/mish/PATjudgment

    And he drave them from the judgment seat.

17. 17

    וַיֹּאחֲזוּvay/yo/cha/ZUand seizedכׇל־הַיְּוָנִיםkhol-Hay/ye/va/NIMall the Greeksאֶת־סוֹסְתְּנִיסet-Sos/te/NISSosthenesרֹאשׁroshthe chief ofבֵּית־הַכְּנֶסֶתbet-hak/ke/NE/setthe house of the assemblyוַיַּכּוּהוּvay/yak/ku/HUand struck himלִפְנֵי־כִסֵּאlif/NE-khis/SEbefore the seat ofהַמִּשְׁפָּטham/mish/PATjudgmentוְגַלִּיּוֹןve/Gal/liy/YONand Gallioלֹא־שָׁתlo-shatcared notלִבּוֹlib/BOhis heartגַּם־לָזֹאת׃gam-la/ZOTeven to this

    Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

    וּפוֹלוֹסu/Fo/LOSand Paulיָשַׁבya/SHAVstayedשָׁםshamthereעוֹדodyetיָמִיםya/MIMdaysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַיִּפָּרֵדvay/yip/pa/REDand he partedמִן־הָאַחִיםmin-ha/a/CHIMof the brothersוַיֵּרֶדvay/YE/redand went downבׇּאֳנִיָּהbo/o/niy/YAby shipלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goאֶל־סוּרְיָאel-Sur/YAinto Syriaוְאִתּוֹve/it/TOand with himפְּרִיסְקְלָהPe/ri/se/ke/LAPriscillaוַעֲקִילַסva/A/ki/LASand Aquilaוַיְגַלַּחvay/gal/LACHand he shavedאֶת־רֹאשׁוֹet-ro/SHOhis headבְּקַנְכְּרַיbe/Kan/ke/RAYin CenchreaכִּיkiforנֶדֶרNE/dera vowעָלָיו׃a/LAYVwas on him

    And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameאֶל־אֶפֶסוֹסel-E/fe/SOSto Ephesusוַיַּנִּיחֵםvay/yan/ni/CHEMand he left themשָׁםshamthereוְהוּאve/HUand heהָלַךְha/LAKHwentלְבֵיתle/VETinto the house ofהַכְּנֶסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand he spokeעִם־הַיְּהוּדִים׃im-Hay/ye/hu/DIMwith the Jews

    And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.

20. 20

    וַיְבַקְשׁוּvay/vak/SHUand they askedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof himלְהַאֲרִיךְle/ha/a/RIKHto lengthenיְמֵיye/MEthe days ofשִׁבְתּוֹshiv/TOhis abidingאִתָּםit/TAMwith themוְלֹאve/LOand notאָבָה׃a/VAwas he willing

    When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;

21. 21

    כִּיkibutנִפְרַדnif/RADhe partedמֵהֶםme/HEMof themוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidעָלַיa/LAYon meלָחֹגla/CHOGto keepאֶת־הֶחָגet-he/CHAGthe feastהַבָּאhab/BAcomingבִּירוּשָׁלַיִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand after thisאָשׁוּבָהa/SHU/vaI will returnאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youאִם־יִרְצֶהim-yir/TSEif willsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentבׇּאֳנִיָּהbo/o/niy/YAby shipמִן־אֶפֶסוֹס׃min-E/fe/SOSfrom Ephesus

    But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.

22. 22

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameאֶל־קֵיסַרְיָהel-Ke/sar/YAat Caesareaוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upוַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand askedלִשְׁלוֹםlish/LOMthe peace ofהַקְּהִלָּהhak/ke/hil/LAthe churchוַיֵּרֶדvay/YE/redand went downאֶל־אַנְטְיוֹכְיָא׃el-An/te/yokh/YAto Antioch

    And when he had landed at Cæsarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch.

    וַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he stayedשָׁםshamthereיָמִיםya/MIMdaysאֲחָדִיםa/cha/DIMsomeוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentלְמַסָּעָיוle/mas/sa/AYVon his journeysוַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand passedבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsthrough the land ofגָּלַטְיָאGa/lat/YAGalatiaוּפְרוּגְיָאu/Fe/rug/YAand Phrygiaוַיְחַזֵּקvay/chaz/ZEKand strengthenedאֶת־כׇּל־הַתַּלְמִידִים׃et-kol-hat/tal/mi/DIMall the disciples

    And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.

    וִיהוּדִיVi/hu/DIand a Jewאֶחָדe/CHADoneמוֹלַדְתּוֹmo/lad/TOhis birthplaceאֲלֶכְסַנְדְּרִיָּאA/lekh/san/de/riy/YAAlexandriaוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameאַפּוֹלוֹסAp/po/LOSApollosבָּאbacameאֶל־אֶפֶסוֹסel-E/fe/SOSto Ephesusוְהָאִישׁve/ha/ISHand the man wasאִישׁisha man ofדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMwordsוְגָדוֹלve/ga/DOLand greatבַּכְּתוּבִים׃bak/ke/tu/VIMin the scriptures

    And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

25. 25

    הוּאhuheהָיָהha/YAwasמְלֻמָּדme/lum/MADtaughtדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhthe way ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDוְהוּאve/HUand heמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspokeכְּחֹםke/CHOMwith the heat ofרוּחוֹru/CHOhis spiritוּמְלַמֵּדu/me/lam/MEDand taughtהֵיטֵבhe/TEVwellאֶת־דִּבְרֵיet-div/REthe words ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordוְלֹאve/LOand notיָדַעya/DAdid he knowכִּיkiexceptאִם־טְבִילַתim-te/vi/LATonly the baptism ofיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnלְבַדָּהּ׃le/vad/DAalone

    This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

    וְהוּאve/HUand heהֵחֵלhe/CHELbeganלִקְרֹאlik/ROto proclaimבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהַכְּנֶסֶתhak/ke/NE/setassemblyבְּאֹמֶץbe/O/metsboldlyוַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand heardאֹתוֹo/TOhimעֲקִילַסA/ki/LASAquilaוּפְרִיסְקְלָהu/Fe/ri/se/ke/LAand Priscillaוַיִּקָּחֻהוּvay/yik/ka/CHU/huand they took himאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוַיּוֹסִיפוּvay/yo/SI/fuand they continuedלְהוֹרוֹתוֹle/ho/ro/TOto teach himאֶת־דֶּרֶךְet-DE/rekhthe way ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבֵּאֵרbe/ERto explainהֵיטֵב׃he/TEVwell

    And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

    וַיַּחְפֹּץvay/yach/POTSand he desiredלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goלַאֲכַיָּאla/A/khay/YAinto Achaiaוַיִּכְתְּבוּvay/yikh/te/VUand wroteהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brothersאֶל־הַתַּלְמִידִיםel-hat/tal/mi/DIMto the disciplesוַיְעֹרֲרוּvay/o/ra/RUand stirredאֹתָםo/TAMthemלְקַבְּלוֹle/kab/be/LOto receive himוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereוַיַּעֲזֹרvay/ya/a/ZORand helpedהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmuchלַמַּאֲמִינִיםlam/ma/a/mi/NIMthose who believedעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהֶחָסֶד׃he/CHA/sedthe grace

    And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

    כִּי־בְכׇל־כֹּחוֹki-ve/KHOL-ko/CHOfor with all his strengthהוֹכִיחַho/KHI/achhe convincedאֶת־הַיְּהוּדִיםet-Hay/ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeכׇּל־הָעָםkol-ha/AMall the peopleוַיַּרְאֵםvay/yar/EMand showed themמִן־הַכְּתוּבִיםmin-hak/ke/tu/VIMby the scripturesכִּיkithatיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהוּאhuisהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
