   Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:

   וַיְהִי־לוֹvay/HI-loand he hadשֵׁםshema nameטוֹבtovgoodבְּקֶרֶבbe/KE/revamongהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brothersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבְּלוּסְתְּרָאbe/Lus/te/RAat Lystraוּבְאִיקָנְיוֹן׃u/ve/I/ka/ne/YONand Iconium

   Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.

   בּוֹbohimבָחַרva/CHARchoseפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulלָצֵאתla/TSETto go outאִתּוֹit/TOwith himוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand he tookוַיָּמׇלvay/YA/moland circumcisedאֹתוֹo/TOhimלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבַּמְּקֹמוֹתbam/me/ko/MOTin the placesהָהֵםha/HEMthoseכִּיkiforכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themיָדְעוּya/de/Uknewאֶת־אָבִיוet-a/VIVhis fatherכִּיkithatיְוָנִיYe/va/NIa Greekהוּא׃huwas he

   Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.

   וַיַּעַבְרוּvay/ya/av/RUand they passedבְּעָרִיםbe/a/RIMthrough citiesוַיִּמְסְרוּvay/yim/se/RUand they deliveredלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepאֶת־הַחֻקִּיםet-ha/chuk/KIMthe statutesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatגָּזְרוּga/ze/RUdecreedהַשְּׁלִיחִיםhash/she/li/CHIMthe apostlesוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersבִּירוּשָׁלָיִם׃bI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalem

   And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.

   וְהַקְּהִלּוֹתve/hak/ke/hil/LOTand the churchesהִתְחַזְּקוּhit/chaz/ze/KUwere strengthenedבָאֱמוּנָהva/e/mu/NAin the faithוַתִּרְבֶּינָהvat/tir/BE/naand multipliedמִיּוֹםmiy/YOMfrom dayאֶל־יוֹם׃el-yomto day

   And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

   וַיַּעַבְרוּvay/ya/av/RUand they passedבִּפְרוּגְיָאBif/rug/YAthrough Phrygiaוּבְאֶרֶץu/ve/E/retsand the land ofגָּלַטְיָאGa/lat/YAGalatiaכִּיkiforמְנָעָםme/na/AMhad prevented themרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritמֵהַשְׁמִיעַme/hash/MI/afrom proclaimingאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe wordבְּאַסְיָא׃be/As/YAin Asia

   Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

   וּכְבֹאָםu/khe/vo/AMand when they cameאֶל־מוּסְיָאel-Mus/YAto Mysiaהוֹאִילוּho/I/luthey undertookלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goאֶל־בִּיתוּנְיָאel-Bi/tun/YAinto Bithyniaוְלֹא־הִנִּיחַve/LO-hin/NI/achand did not allowלָהֶםla/HEMthemהָרוּחַ׃ha/RU/achthe Spirit

   After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

   וַיַּחְלְפוּvay/yach/le/FUand they passed byאֶת־מוּסְיָאet-Mus/YAMysiaוַיֵּרְדוּvay/yer/DUand went downאֶל־טְרוֹאָס׃el-Te/ro/ASto Troas

   And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.

   וְחָזוֹןve/cha/ZONand a visionנִרְאָהnir/Aappearedאֶל־פּוֹלוֹסel-Po/LOSto Paulבַּלַּיְלָהbal/LAY/lain the nightוְהִנֵּה־אִישׁve/hin/NE-ishand behold a man ofמַקְדּוֹןMak/DONMacedoniaנִצָּבnits/TSAVstandingוְהוּאve/HUand heמְבַקֵּשׁme/vak/KESHwas askingמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingעֲבֹרa/VORcross overאֶל־מַקְדּוֹנְיָאel-Mak/don/YAinto Macedoniaוְעׇזְרֵנוּ׃ve/oz/RE/nuand help us

   And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

    וְכִרְאֹתוֹve/khir/o/TOand when he sawאֶת־הֶחָזוֹןet-he/cha/ZONthe visionוַנְּבַקֵּשׁvan/ne/vak/KESHand we soughtמְהֵרָהme/he/RAquicklyלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goאֶל־מַקְדּוֹנְיָאel-Mak/don/YAinto Macedoniaכִּיkiforיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knewכִּיkithatהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordקָרָאka/RAhad calledלָנוּLA/nuusלְבַשֵּׂרle/vas/SERto bring good newsאֹתָםo/TAMto themהַבְּשׂוֹרָה׃hab/be/so/RAthe good news

    And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

11. 11

    וַנֵּצֵאvan/ne/TSEand we went outמִן־טְרוֹאַסmin-Te/ro/ASfrom Troasוַנֵּרֶדvan/NE/redand we went downבׇּאֳנִיָּהbo/o/niy/YAby shipוַנָּבֹאvan/na/VOand we cameדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhby a wayיְשָׁרָהye/sha/RAstraightאֶל־סַמּוֹתְרַקְיָאel-Sam/mot/rak/YAto Samothraciaוּמִמׇּחֳרָתu/mim/mo/cho/RATand on the next dayאֶל־נַפּוֹלִיס׃el-Nap/po/LISto Neapolis

    Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

    וּמִשָּׁםu/mish/SHAMand from thereאֶל־פִילִפִּיel-Fi/lip/PIto Philippiהִיאhiit isהָרִאשֹׁנָהha/ri/sho/NAthe firstלְעָרֵיle/a/REof the cities ofפֶּלֶךְPE/lekhthe district ofמַקְדּוֹנְיָאMak/don/YAMacedoniaוּקְלוֹנְיָאu/ke/lon/YAand a colonyהָיְתָהha/ye/TAit wasוַנֵּשֶׁבvan/NE/shevand we stayedבָּעִירba/IRin the cityהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthatיָמִיםya/MIMdaysאֲחָדִים׃a/cha/DIMsome

    And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

    וּבְיוֹםu/ve/YOMand on the day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathיָצָאנוּya/TSA/nuwe went outאֶל־מִחוּץel-mi/CHUTSoutsideלָעִירla/IRthe cityאֶל־יַדel-yadbesideהַנָּהָרhan/na/HARa riverאֲשֶׁר־שָׁםa/SHER-shamwhere there wasמְקוֹםme/KOMthe place ofתְּפִלָּהte/fil/LAprayerכְּמִשְׁפָּטָםke/mish/pa/TAMaccording to their customוַנֵּשֶׁבvan/NE/shevand we satוַנְּדַבֵּרvan/ne/dab/BERand we spokeאֶל־הַנָּשִׁיםel-han/na/SHIMto the womenהַנִּקְהָלוֹתhan/nik/ha/LOTwho gatheredשָׁמָּה׃SHAM/mathere

    And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

    וְאִשָּׁהve/ish/SHAand a womanיִרְאַתyir/ATwho fearedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוּשְׁמָהּu/she/MAand her nameלוּדְיָאLud/YALydiaמֹכֶרֶתmo/KHE/reta seller ofאַרְגָּמָןar/ga/MANpurpleמֵעִירme/IRfrom the city ofתִּיאֲטִירָאTi/a/ti/RAThyatiraשָׁמְעָהsha/me/Aheardוַיִּפְתַּחvay/yif/TACHand openedהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordאֶת־לִבָּהּet-lib/BAher heartלְהַקְשִׁיבle/hak/SHIVto heedאֶל־דִּבְרֵיel-div/REthe words ofפוֹלוֹס׃Fo/LOSPaul

    And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

15. 15

    וַתִּטָּבֵלvat/tit/ta/VELand was baptizedהִיאhisheוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofבֵיתָהּve/TAher householdוַתְּבַקֵּשׁvat/te/vak/KESHand she askedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof usלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאִם־נֶאֱמֶנֶתim-ne/e/ME/netif faithfulלָאָדוֹןla/a/DONto the Lordאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amבְעֵינֵיכֶםve/e/ne/KHEMin your eyesבֹּאוּ־נָאBO/u-nacome nowאֶל־בֵּיתִיel-be/TIinto my houseוּשְׁבוּ־בוֹu/she/VU-voand stay in itוַתִּפְצַרvat/tif/TSARand she urgedבָּנוּ׃BA/nuus

    And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

16. 16

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּלֶכְתֵּנוּbe/lekh/te/NUas we wentלִמְקוֹםlim/KOMto the place ofהַתְּפִלָּהhat/te/fil/LAprayerוַתִּפְגַּע־בָּנוּvat/tif/GA-BA/nuand met usשִׁפְחָהshif/CHAa servant girlבַּעֲלַתba/a/LATmistress ofאוֹבova familiar spiritוְהִיאve/HIand sheעָשְׂתָהa/se/TAmadeהוֹן־רַבhon-ravmuch wealthלַאדֹנֶיהָla/do/NE/hafor her mastersבִּקְסָמֶיהָ׃bik/sa/me/HAby her divinations

    And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17. 17

    וַתֵּלֶךְvat/TE/lekhand she walkedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterפוֹלוֹסFo/LOSPaulוְאַחֲרֵינוּve/a/cha/RE/nuand after usהָלוֹךְha/LOKHgoingוְקָרוֹאve/ka/ROand calling outלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseעַבְדֵיav/DEare servants ofאֵלelGodעֶלְיוֹןEl/YONMost Highוְהֵםve/HEMand theyמַגִּידִיםmag/gi/DIMwho proclaimלָנוּLA/nuto usדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhthe way ofהַיְשׁוּעָה׃hay/shu/Asalvation

    The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18. 18

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soעָשְׂתָהa/se/TAshe didיָמִיםya/MIMdaysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַיֵּרַעvay/YE/raand it was evilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofפוֹלוֹסFo/LOSPaulהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַיִּפֶןvay/YI/fenand he turnedוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֶל־הָרוּחַel-ha/RU/achto the spiritאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIמְצַוְּךָme/tsav/ve/KHAcommand youבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahלָצֵאתla/TSETto go outמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/naof herוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand it went outבַּשָּׁעָהbash/sha/Ain the hourהַהִיא׃ha/HIthat

    And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

19. 19

    וַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand sawאֲדֹנֶיהָa/do/NE/haher mastersכִּיkithatאָבְדָהa/ve/DAwas lostתּוֹחֶלֶתto/CHE/letthe hope ofבִּצְעָםbits/AMtheir gainוַיִּתְפְּשׂוּvay/yit/pe/SUand they seizedאֶת־פּוֹלוֹסet-Po/LOSPaulוְאֶת־סִילָאve/ET-si/LAand Silasוַיִּסְחָבוּםvay/yis/cha/VUMand dragged themאֶל־הָרְחוֹבel-ha/re/CHOVto the squareלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַמּוֹשְׁלִים׃ham/mosh/LIMthe rulers

    And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,

20. 20

    וַיְבִיאוּםvay/vi/UMand they brought themאֶל־הַשָּׂרִיםel-has/sa/RIMto the rulersוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseעֹכְרִיםokh/RIMare troublingאֶת־עִירֵנוּet-i/re/NUour cityמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוְהֵםve/HEMand they areיְהוּדִים׃Ye/hu/DIMJews

    And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,

21. 21

    וּמְלַמְּדִיםu/me/lam/me/DIMand teachingחֻקּוֹתchuk/KOTstatutesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־מֻתָּרlo-mut/TARit is not lawfulלָנוּLA/nufor usלְקַבְּלָםle/kab/be/LAMto receive themוְלַעֲשֹׂתָםve/la/a/so/TAMand to do themכִּיkiforרוֹמִיִּיםRo/miy/YIMRomansאֲנָחְנוּ׃a/NACH/nuare we

    And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

22. 22

    וַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand roseגַּם־הָעָםgam-ha/AMalso the peopleעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themוְהַשָּׂרִיםve/has/sa/RIMand the rulersקָרְעוּka/re/Utoreאֶת־בִּגְדֵיהֶםet-big/de/HEMtheir clothesמֵעֲלֵיהֶםme/a/le/HEMfrom themוַיְצַוּוּvay/tsav/VUand commandedלְהַכּוֹתָם׃le/hak/ko/TAMto beat them

    And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

23. 23

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַכּוֹתhak/KOTstrikingאֹתָםo/TAMthemמַכָּהmak/KAa beatingרַבָּהrab/BAgreatוַיִּתְּנוּםvay/yit/te/NUMthey put themבַּמִּשְׁמָרbam/mish/MARin custodyוַיְצַוּוּvay/tsav/VUand commandedאֶת־שׁוֹמֵרet-sho/MERthe keeper ofהָאֲסוּרִיםha/a/su/RIMthe prisonersלְשׇׁמְרָםle/shom/RAMto keep themהֵיטֵב׃he/TEVwell

    And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

24. 24

    וְהוּאve/HUand heכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצֻוָּהtsuv/VAhe was commandedכֵּןkensoעָשָׂהa/SAdidוַיַּנִּיחֵםvay/yan/ni/CHEMand he put themבַּחֲדַרba/cha/DARinto the chamber ofהַמִּשְׁמָרham/mish/MARthe custodyהַפְּנִימִיhap/pe/ni/MIinnerוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand fastenedאֶת־רַגְלֵיהֶםet-rag/le/HEMtheir feetבַּסָּד׃bas/SADin the stocks

    Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

25. 25

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּחֲצוֹתka/cha/TSOTabout the middle ofהַלַּיְלָהhal/LAY/lathe nightוּפוֹלוֹסu/Fo/LOSand Paulוְסִילָאve/Si/LAand Silasמִתְפַּלְּלִיםmit/pal/le/LIMwere prayingוּמְזַמְּרִיםu/me/zam/me/RIMand singingלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godוְהָאֲסוּרִיםve/ha/a/su/RIMand the prisonersמַקְשִׁיבִיםmak/shi/VIMwere listeningאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMto them

    And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26. 26

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdרַעַשׁRA/ashan earthquakeגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatפִּתְאֹםpit/OMsuddenlyוַיָּזֻעוּvay/ya/zu/Uand were shakenמוֹסְדוֹתmos/DOTthe foundations ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofהַכֶּלֶאhak/KE/leconfinementוַתִּפָּתַחְנָהvat/tip/pa/TACH/naand were openedכׇל־הַדְּלָתוֹתkhol-had/de/la/TOTall the doorsוּמוֹסְרוֹתu/mos/ROTand the bonds ofכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themנִתָּקוּ׃nit/TA/kuwere loosed

    And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

27. 27

    וְשׁוֹמֵרve/sho/MERand the keeper ofהָאֲסוּרִיםha/a/su/RIMthe prisonersנֵעוֹרne/ORwokeמִשְּׁנָתוֹmish/she/na/TOout of his sleepוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdדַּלְתוֹתdal/TOTthe doors ofהַמִּשְׁמָרham/mish/MARthe prisonנִפְתָּחוֹתnif/ta/CHOTwere openוַיִּשְׁלֹףvay/yish/LOFand he drewחַרְבּוֹchar/BOhis swordוַיְבַקֵּשׁvay/vak/KESHand soughtלְהָמִיתle/ha/MITto killאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹet-naf/SHOhimselfכִּי־אָמַרki-a/MARfor he saidבָּרְחוּba/re/CHUhad fledהָאֲסוּרִים׃ha/a/su/RIMthe prisoners

    And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

28. 28

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand called outפוֹלוֹסFo/LOSPaulבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאַל־תַּעַשׂal-TA/asdo not doלְךָle/KHAto yourselfרָעָהra/Aevilכִּי־הִנֵּהki-hin/NEfor beholdאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweכֻּלָּנוּ׃kul/LA/nuare all of us

    But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

29. 29

    וַיִּשְׁאַלvay/yish/ALand he asked forנֵרוֹתne/ROTlampsוַיְדַלֵּגvay/dal/LEGand leapedהַחֶדְרָהha/ched/RAinto the roomוְהוּאve/HUand he wasמַרְעִידmar/IDtremblingוַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand fellלְרַגְלֵיle/rag/LEbefore the feet ofפוֹלוֹסFo/LOSPaulוְסִילָא׃ve/Si/LAand Silas

    Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

30. 30

    וַיּוֹצִיאֵםvay/yo/tsi/EMand he brought them outוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֲדֹנַיa/do/NAYmy lordsמָהmawhatאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEshall I doוְאִוָּשֵׁעַ׃ve/iv/va/SHE/aand be saved

    And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31. 31

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidהָאֲמֵןha/a/MENbelieveבָּאָדוֹןba/a/DONon the LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahוְתִוָּשַׁעve/tiv/va/SHAand you will be savedאַתָּהat/TAyouוּבֵיתֶךָ׃u/ve/TE/khaand your house

    And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

32. 32

    וַיַּגִּידוּ־לוֹvay/yag/GI/du-loand they told himאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDוּלְכֹלu/le/KHOLand to allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבְּבֵיתוֹ׃be/ve/TOin his house

    And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

33. 33

    וַיִּקָּחֵםvay/yik/ka/CHEMand he took themבַּלַּיְלָהbal/LAY/lain the nightבַּשָּׁעָהbash/sha/Ain the hourהַהִיאha/HIthatוַיִּרְחַץvay/yir/CHATSand washedאֶת־חַבּוּרֹתֵיהֶםet-chab/bu/ro/te/HEMtheir woundsוַיִּטָּבֵלvay/yit/ta/VELand was baptizedהוּאhuheוְכׇל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹve/KHOL-a/SHER-loand all who were hisמְהֵרָה׃me/he/RAquickly

    And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

34. 34

    וַיַּעֲלֵםvay/ya/a/LEMand he brought them upאֶל־בֵּיתוֹel-be/TOinto his houseוַיַּעֲרֹךְvay/ya/a/ROKHand setשֻׁלְחָןshul/CHANa tableלִפְנֵיהֶםlif/ne/HEMbefore themוַיָּגֶלvay/YA/geland rejoicedעִם־כׇּל־בֵּיתוֹim-kol-be/TOwith all his houseכִּיkiforמַאֲמִיןma/a/MINbelievingהָיָהha/YAhe wasבֵּאלֹהִים׃be/lo/HIMin God

    And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

35. 35

    וּבִהְיֹתu/vih/YOTand when it wasהַבֹּקֶרhab/BO/kermorningשָׁלְחוּsha/le/CHUsentהַשָּׂרִיםhas/sa/RIMthe rulersאֶת־הַשּׁוֹטְרִיםet-hash/shot/RIMthe officersלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשַׁלַּחshal/LACHreleaseאֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁיםet-ha/a/na/SHIMthe menהָהֵם׃ha/HEMthose

    And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

36. 36

    וַיַּגֵּדvay/yag/GEDand toldשֹׁמֵרsho/MERthe keeper ofהָאֲסוּרִיםha/a/su/RIMthe prisonersלְפוֹלוֹסle/Fo/LOSto Paulאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשָׁלְחוּsha/le/CHUhave sentהַשָּׂרִיםhas/sa/RIMthe rulersלִפְטֹרlif/TORto releaseאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowצְאוּtse/Udepartוּלְכוּu/le/KHUand goבְשָׁלוֹם׃ve/sha/LOMin peace

    And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.

37. 37

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themהַכֵּהhak/KEbeatהִכּוּנוּhik/ku/NUthey have beaten usנֶגֶדNE/gedbeforeכׇּל־הָעָםkol-ha/AMall the peopleבְּלֹא־דִיןbe/LO-dinwithout trialוּמִשְׁפָּטu/mish/PATand judgmentוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand we areאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenרוֹמִיִּיםRo/miy/YIMRomanוַיַּשְׁלִיכוּvay/yash/LI/khuand they threwאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusבַּמִּשְׁמָרbam/mish/MARinto custodyוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבַּסֵּתֶרbas/SE/terin secretיְגָרֲשׁוּנוּye/ga/ra/shu/NUthey drive us outאַל־נָאal-nano indeedכִּיkibutאִם־יָבֹאוֹim-ya/vo/Oonly let them comeהֵמָּהHEM/mathemselvesוְיוֹצִיאוּנוּ׃ve/yo/tsi/u/NUand bring us out

    But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

38. 38

    וַיַּגִּידוּvay/yag/GI/duand toldהַשֹּׁטְרִיםhash/shot/RIMthe officersלַשָּׂרִיםlas/sa/RIMto the rulersאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּשׇׁמְעָםke/shom/AMwhen they heardכִּי־רוֹמִיִּיםki-Ro/miy/YIMthat Romansהֵםhemare theyוַיִּירָאוּ׃vay/yi/RA/uand they feared

    And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

39. 39

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameוַיְחַלּוּvay/chal/LUand entreatedפְנֵיהֶםfe/ne/HEMtheir faceוַיּוֹצִיאוּםvay/yo/tsi/UMand brought them outוַיִּשְׁאֲלוּvay/yish/a/LUand askedמֵהֶםme/HEMof themלָצֵאתla/TSETto leaveמִן־הָעִיר׃min-ha/IRfrom the city

    And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

40. 40

    וַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uand they went outמִן־הַמִּשְׁמָרmin-ham/mish/MARfrom custodyוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand cameאֶל־בֵּיתel-betinto the house ofלוּדְיָאLud/YALydiaוַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand they sawאֶת־הָאַחִיםet-ha/a/CHIMthe brothersוַיְנַחֲמוּםvay/na/cha/MUMthey comforted themוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentלְדַרְכָּם׃le/dar/KAMon their way

    And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
