   And certain men which came down from Judæa taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

   When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

   And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּבֹאָםke/vo/AMwhen they cameיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemוַיְקַבְּלוּvay/kab/be/LUand receivedאֹתָםo/TAMthemהַקְּהִלָּהhak/ke/hil/LAthe churchוְהַשְּׁלִיחִיםve/hash/she/li/CHIMand the apostlesוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersוַיַּגִּידוּvay/yag/GI/duand they toldלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatהִגְדִּילhig/DILmade greatהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doעִמָּהֶם׃im/ma/HEMwith them

   And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

   וַיָּקוּמוּvay/ya/KU/muand roseאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenמַאֲמִינִיםma/a/mi/NIMbelievingמִכַּתmik/KATfrom the sect ofהַפְּרוּשִׁיםhap/Pe/ru/SHIMthe Phariseesוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidכִּיkithatעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuit is on usלָמוּלla/MULto circumciseאֹתָםo/TAMthemוּלְצַוֹּתָםu/le/tsav/vo/TAMand to command themלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepאֶת־תּוֹרַתet-to/RATthe law ofמֹשֶׁה׃Mo/SHEMoses

   But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

   וַיִּקָּהֲלוּvay/yik/ka/ha/LUand gatheredהַשְּׁלִיחִיםhash/she/li/CHIMthe apostlesוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersלְהִתְבּוֹנֵןle/hit/bo/NENto considerבַּדָּבָרbad/da/VARthe matterהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבִּרְבוֹתbir/VOTwhen increasedהַמַּחֲלֹקֶתham/ma/cha/LO/ketthe disputeוַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand roseפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenאַחִיםa/CHIMbrothersאַתֶּםat/TEMyouיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowכִּיkithatמִיָּמִיםmiy/ya/MIMfrom daysרִאשׁוֹנִיםri/sho/NIMearlyבִּיbimeבָּחַרba/CHARchoseהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodמִכֻּלָּנוּmik/kul/LA/nufrom all of usלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/awould hearהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesמִפִּיmip/PIfrom my mouthאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofהַבְּשׂוֹרָהhab/be/so/RAthe good newsוְיַאֲמִינוּ׃ve/ya/a/MI/nuand believe

   And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

   וְהָאֱלֹהִיםve/ha/e/lo/HIMand Godיֹדֵעַyo/DE/awho knowsהַלְּבָבוֹתhal/le/va/VOTthe heartsהֵעִידhe/IDtestifiedעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMfor themבְּתִתּוֹbe/tit/TOin His givingגַם־לָהֶםgam-la/HEMalso to themאֶת־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁet-RU/ach-hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHEReven asנָתַןna/TANHe gaveלָנוּ׃LA/nuto us

   And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

9. 9

   וְלֹאve/LOand notהִבְדִּילhiv/DILdid He distinguishבֵּינֵינוּbe/NE/nubetween usוּבֵינֵיהֶםu/ve/ne/HEMand themכִּיkiforטִהַרti/HARHe cleansedאֶת־לְבָבָםet-le/va/VAMtheir heartsעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyהָאֱמוּנָה׃ha/e/mu/NAfaith

   And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

10. 10

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowמַה־תְּנַסּוּma-te/nas/SUwhy do you testאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodלָשׂוּםla/SUMto putעֹלola yokeעַל־צַוְּארֵיal-tsav/ve/REon the necks ofהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatגַּם־אֲבוֹתֵינוּgam-a/vo/TE/nuneither our fathersגַּםgamnorאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweלֹאlonotיָכֹלְנוּya/khol/NUwere ableלָשֵׂאת׃la/SETto bear

    Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

11. 11

    אֲבָלa/VALbutמַאֲמִינִיםma/a/mi/NIMbelieveאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweכִּיkithatבְחֶסֶדve/CHE/sedby the grace ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour Lordנִוָּשֵׁעַniv/va/SHE/awe will be savedכְּמוֹהֶםke/mo/HEMlike themכָּמוֹנוּ׃ka/mo/NUlike us

    But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

    וַיַּחֲרִישׁוּvay/ya/cha/RI/shuand was silentכׇל־הַקָּהָלkhol-hak/ka/HALall the assemblyוַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand they listenedאֶל־בַּר־נַבָּאel-Bar-nab/BAto Barnabasוְאֶל־פּוֹלוֹסve/EL-po/LOSand Paulמְסַפְּרִיםme/sap/pe/RIMrecountingאֶת־הָאֹתוֹתet-ha/o/TOTthe signsוְהַמּוֹפְתִיםve/ham/mof/TIMand wondersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהִרְבָּהhir/BAmultipliedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doעַל־יְדֵיהֶםal-ye/de/HEMby their handsבְּקֶרֶבbe/KE/revamongהַגּוֹיִם׃hag/Go/YIMthe Gentiles

    Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

    וְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterהֶחֱרִישׁוּhe/che/ri/SHUthey were silentוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJamesוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenאַחִיםa/CHIMbrothersשִׁמְעוּshim/Ulistenאֵלָי׃e/LAYto me

    And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:

14. 14

    שִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimeonסִפֵּרsip/PERhas recountedאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERhowפָּקַדpa/KADhas visitedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבַּתְּחִלָּהbat/te/chil/LAat the firstלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeעַםama peopleלִשְׁמוֹlish/MOfor His nameמִבֵּיןmib/BENfrom amongהַגּוֹיִם׃hag/Go/YIMthe Gentiles

    Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

15. 15

    וְלָזֹאתve/la/ZOTand to thisמַסְכִּימִיםmas/ki/MIMagreeדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe words ofהַנְּבִיאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsכַּכָּתוּב׃kak/ka/TUVas it is written

    And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

16. 16

    אַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafter thisאָשׁוּבa/SHUVI will returnוּבָנִיתִיu/va/NI/tiand I will buildאֶת־סֻכַּתet-suk/KATthe booth ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidהַנֹּפֶלֶתhan/no/FE/letthat is fallenוַהֲרִסוֹתֶיהָva/ha/ri/so/te/HAand its ruinsאֶבְנֶהev/NEI will buildוַהֲקִימוֹתִיהָ׃va/ha/ki/mo/ti/HAand I will set it up

    After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

17. 17

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִדְרְשׁוּyid/re/SHUmay seekשְׁאֵרִיתshe/e/RITthe remnant ofאָדָםa/DAMmankindאֶת־הָאָדוֹןet-ha/a/DONthe Lordוְכׇל־הַגּוֹיִםve/KHOL-hag/go/YIMand all the nationsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנִקְרָאnik/RAis calledשְׁמִיshe/MIMy nameעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themנְאֻם־יְהוָֹהne/UM-Adonaithe declaration of the LORDעֹשֶׂהo/SEwho doesכׇל־אֵלֶּה׃khol-EL/leall these

    That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

18. 18

    נוֹדָעִיםno/da/IMare knownלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godמֵעוֹלָםme/o/LAMfrom of oldכׇּל־מַעֲשָׂיו׃kol-ma/a/SAYVall His works

    Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

19. 19

    וְעַל־כֵּןve/AL-kenand thereforeאֲנִיa/NIIשֹׁפֵטsho/FETjudgeלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notהַכְבִּידhakh/BIDwe troubleעַל־הַשָּׁבִיםal-hash/sha/VIMon those who turnמִן־הַגּוֹיִםmin-Hag/go/YIMfrom the Gentilesלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMto God

    Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

20. 20

    רַקrakonlyלִכְתֹּבlikh/TOVthat we writeאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִרְחֲקוּyir/cha/KUthey keep farמִטֻּמְאוֹתmit/tum/OTfrom the defilements ofהָאֱלִילִיםha/e/li/LIMidolsוּמִן־הַזְּנוּתu/MIN-haz/ze/NUTand from fornicationוּמִבְּשַׂרu/mib/be/SARand from the flesh ofהַנֶּחֱנָקhan/ne/che/NAKwhat is strangledוּמִן־הַדָּם׃u/MIN-had/DAMand from blood

    But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

21. 21

    כִּיkiforמִדֹּרֹתmid/do/ROTfrom generations ofעוֹלָםo/LAMoldיֶשׁ־לְמֹשֶׁהYesh-le/mo/SHEMoses hasדֹרְשִׁיםdor/SHIMexpoundersבְּכׇל־עִירbe/KHOL-irin every cityוָעִירva/IRand cityוּמִדֵּיu/mid/DEand everyשַׁבַּתshab/BATsabbathבְּשַׁבַּתּוֹbe/shab/bat/TOon its sabbathיִקָּרֵאyik/ka/REhe is readבְּבָתֵּיbe/vat/TEin the houses ofהַכְּנֶסֶת׃hak/ke/NE/setassembly

    For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

    וַיִּיטַבvay/yi/TAVand it was goodבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofהַשְּׁלִיחִיםhash/she/li/CHIMthe apostlesוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersוּבְעֵינֵיu/ve/e/NEand in the eyes ofכׇל־הַקְּהִלָּהkhol-hak/ke/hil/LAthe whole churchלִבְחֹרliv/CHORto chooseמֵהֶםme/HEMfrom themאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenלִשְׁלֹחַlish/LO/achto sendאֹתָםo/TAMthemאֶל־אַנְטְיוֹכְיָאel-An/te/yokh/YAto Antiochעִם־פּוֹלוֹסim-Po/LOSwith Paulוּבַר־נַבָּאu/VAR-nab/BAand Barnabasאֶת־יְהוּדָהet-Ye/hu/DAJudasהַמְכֻנֶּהham/khun/NEwho is surnamedבַּר־שַׁבָּאBar-shab/BABarsabasוְאֶת־סִילָאve/ET-si/LAand Silasאַנְשֵׁי־שֵׁםan/SHE-shemmen of nameבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongהָאַחִים׃ha/a/CHIMthe brothers

    Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

23. 23

    וַיִּכְתְּבוּvay/yikh/te/VUand they wroteוַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUand sentעַל־יָדָםal-ya/DAMby their handלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweהַשְּׁלִיחִיםhash/she/li/CHIMthe apostlesוְהַזְּקֵנִיםve/haz/ze/ke/NIMand the eldersוְהָאַחִיםve/ha/a/CHIMand the brothersשֹׁאֲלִיםsho/a/LIMaskשְׁלוֹםshe/LOMthe peace ofהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brothersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho areמִן־הַגּוֹיִםmin-Hag/go/YIMof the Gentilesבְּאַנְטְיוֹכְיָאbe/An/te/yokh/YAin Antiochוּבְסוּרְיָאu/ve/Sur/YAand Syriaוּבְקִילִיקְיָא׃u/ve/Ki/li/ke/YAand Cilicia

    And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:

24. 24

    יַעַןYA/anbecauseוּבְיַעַןu/ve/YA/anand becauseשָׁמַעְנוּsha/MA/nuwe have heardכִּיkithatיָצְאוּya/tse/Uwent outמֵאִתָּנוּme/it/TA/nufrom usעֹכְרִיםokh/RIMare troublingאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוּמְעַוְּתִיםu/me/av/ve/TIMand pervertingנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםnaf/sho/te/KHEMyour soulsבִּדְבָרִיםbid/va/RIMwith wordsבְּאׇמְרָםbe/om/RAMin their sayingלָכֶםla/KHEMto youלְהִמּוֹלle/him/MOLto be circumcisedוְלִשְׁמֹרve/lish/MORand to keepאֶת־הַתּוֹרָהet-hat/to/RAthe lawאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomלֹאlonotצִוִּינוּtsiv/vi/NUdid we commandאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeטוֹבtovit was goodבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofכֻלָּנוּkhul/LA/nuall of usיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherלִבְחֹרliv/CHORto chooseאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenלִשְׁלֹחַlish/LO/achto sendאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youעִםimwithבַּר־נַבָּאBar-nab/BABarnabasוּפוֹלוֹסu/Fo/LOSand Paulחֲבִיבֵינוּ׃cha/vi/ve/NUour beloved

    It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

26. 26

    בְּנֵיbe/NEsons ofאָדָםa/DAMmanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoחֵרְפוּcher/FUthey riskedנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMtheir livesעַל־שֵׁםal-shemfor the name ofאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

27. 27

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeשָׁלַחְנוּsha/lach/NUwe have sentאֶת־יְהוּדָהet-Ye/hu/DAJudasוְאֶת־סִילָאve/ET-si/LAand Silasוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyיַגִּידוּyag/GI/duwill tellזֹאתzotthisבְּפִיהֶם׃be/fi/HEMby their mouth

    We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

28. 28

    כִּיkiforטוֹבtovit was goodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritוּלְפָנֵינוּu/le/fa/NE/nuand before usלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInotשׂוּםsumto putעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youמַשָּׂאmas/SAa burdenאַחֵרa/CHERotherלְבַדle/VADbesidesמִןminfromהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהַצְּרִיכִיםhats/tse/ri/KHIMthat are neededהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

29. 29

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתִּרְחֲקוּtir/cha/KUyou keep farמִזִּבְחֵיmiz/ziv/CHEfrom the sacrifices ofאֱלִילִיםe/li/LIMidolsוּמִן־הַדָּםu/MIN-had/DAMand from bloodוּמִבְּשַׂרu/mib/be/SARand from the flesh ofהַנֶּחֱנָקhan/ne/che/NAKwhat is strangledוּמִן־הַזְּנוּתu/MIN-haz/ze/NUTand from fornicationאִם־מֵאֵלֶּהim-me/EL/leif from theseתִּשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou keepאֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםet-naf/sho/te/KHEMyour soulsתֵּיטִיבוּte/TI/vuyou will do wellלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTin doingוְשָׁלוֹםve/sha/LOMand peaceלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

    וְהָאֲנָשִׁיםve/ha/a/na/SHIMand the menשֻׁלְּחוּshul/le/CHUwere sent offוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־אַנְטְיוֹכְיָאel-An/te/yokh/YAto Antiochוַיַּקְהִילוּvay/yak/hi/LUand they gatheredאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleוַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand they gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֶת־הָאִגָּרֶת׃et-ha/ig/GA/retthe letter

    So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

    וַיִּקְרְאוּvay/yik/re/Uand they readאֹתָהּo/TAitוַיִּשְׂמְחוּvay/yis/me/CHUand they rejoicedעַל־הַנֶּחָמָה׃al-han/ne/cha/MAat the comfort

    Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

32. 32

    וִיהוּדָהVi/hu/DAand Judasוְסִילָאve/Si/LAand Silasאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereגַּם־הֵםgam-hemalso theyנְבִיאִיםne/vi/IMprophetsנִחֲמוּni/cha/MUcomfortedהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brothersבִּדְבָרִיםbid/va/RIMwith wordsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַיְחַזְּקוּם׃vay/chaz/ze/KUMand strengthened them

    And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

33. 33

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereשָׁםshamthereיָמִיםya/MIMdaysאֲחָדִיםa/cha/DIMsomeוַיְשַׁלְּחוּםvay/shal/le/CHUMand sent themהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMfrom the brothersבְּשָׁלוֹםbe/sha/LOMin peaceאֶל־הַשְּׁלִיחִים׃el-hash/she/li/CHIMto the apostles

    And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.

34. 34

    וַיִּיטַבvay/yi/TAVand it was goodבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofסִילָאSi/LASilasלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetto abideשָׁםshamthereעוֹד׃odstill

    Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.

35. 35

    וּפוֹלוֹסu/Fo/LOSand Paulוּבַר־נַבָּאu/VAR-nab/BAand Barnabasיָשְׁבוּya/she/VUstayedבְּאַנְטְיוֹכְיָאbe/An/te/yokh/YAin Antiochוַיְלַמְּדוּvay/lam/me/DUand taughtוַיְבַשְּׂרוּvay/vas/se/RUand proclaimedאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDהֵמָּהHEM/matheyוְגַם־רַבִּיםve/GAM-rab/BIMand also manyאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMothersעִמָּם׃im/MAMwith them

    Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

36. 36

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִקֵּץmik/KETSat the end ofיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulאֶל־בַּר־נַבָּאel-Bar-nab/BAto Barnabasלְכָהle/KHAcomeוְנָשׁוּבָהve/na/SHU/vaand let us returnוְנִפְקְדָהve/nif/ke/DAand let us visitאֶת־אַחֵינוּet-a/CHE/nuour brothersבְּכׇל־עִירbe/KHOL-irin every cityוָעִירva/IRand cityאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereקָרָאנוּ־שָׁםka/ra/NU-shamwe proclaimed thereאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDוְנִרְאֶהve/nir/Eand let us seeמָהmahowהֵמָּה׃HEM/mathey are

    And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

37. 37

    וּבַר־נַבָּאu/VAR-nab/BAand Barnabasיָעַץya/ATSadvisedלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeאִתָּםit/TAMwith themאֶת־יוֹחָנָןet-Yo/cha/NANJohnהַמְכֻנֶּהham/khun/NEwho was surnamedמַרְקוֹס׃Mar/KOSMark

    And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

38. 38

    אַךְakhbutפּוֹלוֹסPo/LOSPaulלֹאlonotאָבָהa/VAwas willingלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeאִתָּםit/TAMwith themאֶת־הָאִישׁet-ha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoסָרsarhad turned asideמֵעֲלֵיהֶםme/a/le/HEMfrom themבְּפַמְפּוּלְיָאbe/Fam/pul/YAfrom Pamphyliaוְלֹא־הָלַךְve/LO-ha/LAKHand had not goneאִתָּםit/TAMwith themבִּמְלַאכְתָּם׃bim/lakh/TAMin their work

    But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

39. 39

    וַיְהִי־רֹגֶזvay/HI-RO/gezand there was agitationעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנִפְרְדוּnif/re/DUthey separatedאִישׁisheach manמֵאָחִיוme/a/CHIVfrom his brotherוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookבַּר־נַבָּאBar-nab/BABarnabasאֶת־מַרְקוֹסet-Mar/KOSMarkוַיִּסַּעvay/yis/SAand set outבׇּאֳנִיָּהbo/o/niy/YAby shipאֶל־קִיפְרוֹס׃el-Ki/fe/ROSto Cyprus

    And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

40. 40

    וּפוֹלוֹסu/Fo/LOSand Paulבָּחַר־לוֹba/CHAR-lochose for himselfאֶת־סִילָאet-Si/LASilasוַיִּמְסְרֻהוּvay/yim/se/ru/HUand they delivered himהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMby the brothersאֶל־חֶסֶדel-CHE/sedto the grace ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDוַיֵּצֵא׃vay/ye/TSEand departed

    And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

41. 41

    וַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand he passedבְּסוּרְיָאBe/sur/YASyriaוּבְקִילִיקְיָאu/ve/Ki/li/ke/YAand Ciliciaוַיְחַזֵּקvay/chaz/ZEKand strengthenedאֶת־הַקְּהִלּוֹת׃et-hak/ke/hil/LOTthe churches

    And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
