1. 1

   וַיְהִיAnd-it-came-to-passבְאִיקָנְיוֹןin-Iconium,וַיָּבֹאוּthat-they-wentיַחְדָּוboth-togetherאֶל־בֵּיתinto-the-house-ofהַכְּנֵסֶתthe-synagogueאֲשֶׁרwhich-wasלַיְּהוּדִיםof-the-Jews,וַיְדַבְּרוּ־שָׁםand-so-spake-there,עַדthatכִּי־הֶאֱמִיןbelievedהָמוֹןa-multitudeרָבgreatמִן־הַיְּהוּדִיםboth-of-the-Jewsוּמִן־הַיְּוָנִים׃and-also-of-the-Greeks.

   And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.

2. 2

   וְהַיְּהוּדִיםBut-the-Jewsאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹאnotהֶאֱמִינוּbelievedעוֹרֲרוּstirred-upוְהִכְעִיסוּand-made-evil-affectedאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹתthe-minds-ofהַגּוֹיִםthe-Gentilesעַל־הָאַחִים׃against-the-brethren.

   But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

3. 3

   וַיֵּשְׁבוּ־שָׁםTherefore-abode-they-thereיָמִיםtimeרַבִּיםlong,וַיְלַמֵּדוּspeaking-boldlyוּמָעֻזָּםand-their-strength-wasהָאָדוֹןthe-Lord,הַמֵּעִידwhich-gave-testimonyעַל־דְּבַרunto-the-word-ofחַסְדּוֹhis-grace,בַּעֲשׂוֹתוֹand-granted-to-be-doneעַל־יָדָםby-their-handsאֹתוֹתsignsוּמוֹפְתִים׃and-wonders.

   Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

4. 4

   וַיֵּחָלֵקBut-was-divided:הֲמוֹןthe-multitude-ofהָעִירthe-cityלַחֵצִיin-halfחֶצְיָםpartהָיָהheldאַחֲרֵיwithהַיְּהוּדִיםthe-Jews,וְחֶצְיָםand-partאַחֲרֵיwithהַשְּׁלִיחִים׃the-apostles.

   But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.

   וַיְהִיAnd-it-came-to-passכִּיwhenרָגְשׁוּthere-was-an-assault-madeהַגּוֹיִםboth-of-the-Gentiles,וְהַיְּהוּדִיםand-also-of-the-Jewsהֵמָּהtheyוְרָאשֵׁיהֶםwith-their-rulers,לְהִתְעַלֵּלto-use-despitefullyבָּהֶםthem,וּלְסָקְלָם׃and-to-stone-them,

   And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,

   וַיִּוָּדַעThey-were-ware-of-itלָהֶםto-them,וַיִּמָּלְטוּand-fledלְעָרֵיunto-the-cities-ofלוּקוֹנְיָאLycaonia,אֶל־לוּסְטְרָאunto-Lystraוְדֶרְבִּיand-Derbe,וּסְבִיבוֹתָן׃and-unto-the-region-round-about:

   They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:

7. 7

   וַיְבַשְּׂרוּ־שָׁםAnd-there-they-preachedהַבְּשׂוֹרָה׃the-gospel.

   And there they preached the gospel.

8. 8

   וְאִישׁAnd-a-manנְכֵהimpotent-inרַגְלַיִםhis-feetבְּלוּסְטְרָאat-Lystraיֹשֵׁבthere-sat,תַּחְתָּיוin-his-place,פִּסֵּחַbeing-a-crippleמִבֶּטֶןfrom-the-womb-ofאִמּוֹhis-mother,וְלֹאand-neverהִלֵּךְhad-walkedמִיָּמָיו׃in-his-days:

   And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:

9. 9

   וַיִּשְׁמַעThe-same-heardאֶת־פּוֹלוֹסPaulמְדַבֵּרspeak:וְהוּאwhoהִסְתַּכֵּלstedfastly-beholdingבּוֹhim,וַיַּרְאand-perceivingכִּי־אֱמוּנָהthat-faithבוֹhe-hadלְהִוָּשֵׁעַ׃to-be-healed,

   The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

10. 10

    וַיֹּאמֶרSaidבְּקוֹלwith-a-voiceגָּדוֹלloud,עֲמֹדStandהָכֵןuprightעַל־רַגְלֶיךָon-your-feet.וַיְדַלֵּגAnd-he-leapedוַיִּתְהַלָּךְ׃and-walked.

    Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

11. 11

    וַהֲמוֹןAnd-when-the-multitude-ofהָעָםthe-peopleרָאוּsawאֵת־אֲשֶׁרwhatעָשָׂהhad-done,פוֹלוֹסPaulוַיִּשְׂאוּthey-lifted-upאֶת־קוֹלָםtheir-voices,וַיְדַבְּרוּsayingבְּלָשׁוֹןin-the-speech-ofלוּקוֹנִיתLycaonia,לֵאמֹרsaying,הָאֱלֹהִיםThe-godsיָרְדוּare-come-downאֵלֵינוּto-usבִּדְמוּתin-the-likeness-ofאֲנָשִׁים׃men.

    And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

12. 12

    וַיִּקְרְאוּAnd-they-calledלְבַר־נַבָּאBarnabas,יֻפִּיטֶרJupiter;וּלְפוֹלוֹסand-Paul,קָרְאוּthey-calledהֶרְמִיסMercurius,בַּאֲשֶׁרbecauseהוּאhe-wasרֹאשׁthe-chief-ofהַמְדַבְּרִים׃the-speakers.

    And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

13. 13

    וְכֹהֵןThen-the-priest-ofבֵּית־יֻפִּיטֶרthe-house-of-Jupiter,לִפְנֵיwhich-was-beforeהָעִירtheir-city,בָּאbroughtהַשַּׁעְרָהunto-the-gatesבִּשְׁוָרִיםoxenוּבַעֲטָרוֹתand-garlands,וַיַּחְפֹּץand-wouldלִזְבֹּחַhave-done-sacrificeהוּאheוַהֲמוֹןwith-the-multitude-ofהָעָם׃the-people.

    Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.

14. 14

    וַיְהִיAnd-it-came-to-passכִּשְׁמֹעַwhen-heardזֹאתof-thisהַשְּׁלִיחִיםthe-apostles,פּוֹלוֹסPaulוּבַרand-Bar-נַבָּאnabas,וַיִּקְרְעוּthey-rentאֶת־בִּגְדֵיהֶםtheir-clothes,וַיָּרוּצוּand-ran-inאֶל־תּוֹךְ־הָעָם׃among-the-people,

    Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,

    וַיִּצְעֲקוּcrying-out,וַיֹּאמְרוּAnd-saying,אֲנָשִׁיםSirs,לָמָּהwhyתַּעֲשׂוּdo-youכָזֹאתthese-things?גַּם־אֲנַחְנוּWe-alsoבְנֵי־אָדָםare-menחַלָּשִׁיםof-like-passionsכְּמוֹכֶםwith-you,וּנְבַשְּׂרָהand-preach-untoאֶתְכֶםyouלְמַעַןthatתָּשׁוּבוּyou-should-turnמִן־הַבְלֵיכֶםfrom-vanitiesאֵלֶּהtheseאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםunto-Godחַיִּיםthe-living,אֲשֶׁרwhichעָשָׂהmadeאֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִםheaven,וְאֶת־הָאָרֶץand-earth,וְאֶת־הַיָּםand-the-sea,וְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּם׃and-all-things-that-are-therein:

    And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

16. 16

    וַאֲשֶׁרWhoבְּדֹרוֹתin-timesקֶדֶםpastהִנִּיחַsufferedלְכׇל־הַגּוֹיִםall-nationsלָלֶכֶתto-walkבְּדַרְכֵיהֶם׃in-their-own-ways.

    Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.

17. 17

    וְגַםNeverthelessלֹא־חָדַלhe-left-not-himselfלְהָעִידwithout-witnessעַל־עַצְמוֹof-himself,וַיֵּיטֶבin-that-he-did-goodלָנוּto-us,בְּתִתּוֹand-gaveמָטָרrainמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםfrom-heaven,וְעִתּוֹתand-seasonsשָׂבָעfruitful,וַיְמַלֵּאfillingלִבּוֹתֵינוּour-heartsמָזוֹןwith-foodוְשָׂשׂוֹן׃and-gladness.

    Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

18. 18

    וְאַףAndבַּדְּבָרִיםwith-sayingsהָאֵלֶּהtheseבְּרֹבscarceעָמָלwith-laborמָנְעוּrestrained-theyאֶת־הָעָםthe-people,מִזְּבֹחַthat-they-had-not-done-sacrificeלָהֶם׃unto-them.

    And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.

19. 19

    וַיָּבֹאוּAnd-there-cameשָׁמָּהthitherיְהוּדִיםcertain-Jewsמִן־אַנְטְיוֹכְיָאfrom-Antiochוּמִן־אִיקָנְיוֹןand-Iconium,וַיָּסִיתוּwho-persuadedאֶת־הָעָםthe-people,וַיִּרְגְּמוּand,-having-stonedאֶת־פּוֹלוֹסPaulבָּאֲבָנִיםwith-stones,וַיִּסְחָבֻהוּdrew-himחוּצָהoutלָעִירof-the-city,כִּיforחֲשָׁבֻהוּsupposing-himלְמֵת׃he-had-been-dead.

    And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

20. 20

    וַיָּסֹבּוּHowbeit,-as-stood-round-aboutאֹתוֹhim,הַתַּלְמִידִיםthe-disciplesוַיָּקׇםhe-rose-up,וַיָּבֹאand-cameהָעִירָהinto-the-city:וּמִמׇּחֳרָתand-the-next-dayיָצָאhe-departedאֶל־דֶּרְבִּיto-Derbeהוּאheוּבַר־נַבָּא׃with-Barnabas.

    Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

21. 21

    וַיְבַשְּׂרוּAnd-when-they-had-preachedאֶת־הַבְּשׂוֹרָהthe-gospelבָּעִירto-cityהַהִיאthat,וְאַחֲרֵיand-afterהַעֲמִידָםhad-taughtתַּלְמִידִיםdisciplesהַרְבֵּהmany,שָׁבוּthey-returned-againאֶל־לוּסְטְרָאto-Lystra,וְאִיקָנְיוֹןand-to-Iconium,וְאַנְטְיוֹכְיָא׃and-Antioch,

    And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,

22. 22

    וַיְחַזְּקוּConfirmingאֶת־לֵבthe-souls-ofהַתַּלְמִידִיםthe-disciples,וַיַּזְהִירוּand-exhortingאֹתָםthemלַעֲמֹדto-continueבָּאֱמוּנָהin-the-faith,וְכִיand-thatרַק־בְּצָרוֹתonly-through-tribulationרַבּוֹתmuchבּוֹאwe-mustנָבוֹאenterאֶל־מַלְכוּתinto-the-kingdom-ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God.

    Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

23. 23

    וַיִּבְחֲרוּAnd-when-they-had-ordainedלָהֶםthemזְקֵנִיםeldersבְּכׇל־קְהִלָּהin-every-churchוּקְהִלָּהand-church,וַיִּתְפַּלֲלוּand-had-prayedוַיָּצוּמוּwith-fasting,וַיַּפְקִידוּםthey-commended-themבְּיַדto-the-hand-ofהָאָדוֹןthe-Lord,אֲשֶׁרon-whomהֶאֱמִינוּthey-believedבוֹ׃in-him.

    And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

24. 24

    וַיַּעַבְרוּAnd-after-they-had-passedבְּפִיסִדְיָאthroughout-Pisidia,וַיָּבֹאוּthey-cameאֶל־פַּמְפּוּלְיָא׃to-Pamphylia.

    And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.

25. 25

    וַיַּשְׁמִיעוּAnd-when-they-had-preachedאֶת־דְּבַרthe-word-ofיְהוָֹהthe-Lordבְּפֶרְגִּיin-Perga,וַיֵּרְדוּthey-went-downאֶל־אַטַּלְיָא׃into-Attalia:

    And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:

26. 26

    וּמִשָּׁםAnd-thenceבָּאוּsailedבׇאֳנִיָּהin-a-shipאֶל־אַנְטְיוֹכְיָאto-Antioch,אֲשֶׁרfrom-whenceנִמְסְרוּ־שָׁםthey-had-been-recommended-thereלְחֶסֶדto-the-grace-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodעַל־הַמְּלָאכָהfor-the-workאֲשֶׁרwhichכִּלּוּthey-fulfilledאֹתָהּ׃it.

    And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.

27. 27

    וַיָּבֹאוּAnd-when-they-were-come,וַיַּקְהִילוּand-had-gathered-togetherאֶת־הָעֵדָהthe-church,וַיַּגִּידוּthey-rehearsedאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרall-thatעָשָׂהhad-doneאִתָּםwith-them,הָאֱלֹהִיםGodוְאֵתandאֲשֶׁר־פָּתַחhow-he-had-openedלַגּוֹיִםunto-the-Gentilesפֶּתַחthe-door-ofהָאֱמוּנָה׃faith.

    And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

28. 28

    וַיֵּשְׁבוּAnd-there-they-abodeשָׁםthereעִם־הַתַּלְמִידִיםwith-the-disciplesיָמִיםtimeלֹאnoמְעָט׃little.

    And there they abode long time with the disciples.
