   And the apostles and brethren that were in Judæa heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenעָלָהa/LAwent upפֶטְרוֹסFet/ROSPeterיְרוּשָׁלָיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemוַיָּרִיבוּvay/ya/RI/vuand contendedעִמּוֹim/MOwith himהַמּוּלִיםham/mu/LIMthe circumcisedלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

   אֶל־אֲנָשִׁיםel-a/na/SHIMto menאֲשֶׁר־לָהֶםa/SHER-la/HEMwho haveעׇרְלָהor/LAforeskinבָּאתָBA/tayou went inוַתֹּאכַלvat/TO/khaland ateאִתָּםit/TAMwith themלָחֶם׃LA/chembread

   Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

   וַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterוַיְסַפֵּרvay/sap/PERand recountedלָהֶםla/HEMto themכְּסֵדֶרke/SE/derin orderאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatקָרָהוּka/RA/huhad befallen himלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

   מִתְפַּלֵּלmit/pal/LELprayingהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI wasבְּעִירbe/IRin the city ofיָפוֹYa/FOJoppaוָאֵרָדַםva/e/ra/DAMand I fell into deep sleepוָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawמַרְאֶהmar/Ea visionוְהִנֵּה־כְלִיve/hin/NE-khe/LIand behold a vesselכִּדְמוּתkid/MUTlikeמִטְפַּחַת־בַּדmit/PA/chat-bada linen sheetגְּדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatיוֹרֵדyo/REDcoming downמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensוַתּוּרַדvat/tu/RADand let downבְּאַרְבַּעbe/ar/BAby the fourכַּנְפוֹתֶיהָkan/fo/te/HAcorners of itוַתָּבֹאvat/ta/VOand it cameעָדָי׃a/DAYto me

   I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

   וָאָשִׂיםva/a/SIMand I setעֵינַיe/NAYmy eyesעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon itוָאָבִיןva/a/VINand I consideredוָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawאֶת־בֶּהֱמַתet-be/he/MATthe beasts ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוְאֶת־הַחַיָּהve/ET-ha/chay/YAand the wild animalsוְרֶמֶשׂve/RE/mesand the creeping things ofהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe groundוְעוֹףve/OFand the birds ofהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimthe sky

   Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

   וָאֶשְׁמַעva/esh/MAand I heardגַּם־קוֹלgam-kolalso a voiceמִדַּבֵּרmid/dab/BERspeakingאֵלָיe/LAYto meקוּםkumariseפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterטְבַחte/VACHslaughterוֶאֱכֹל׃ve/e/KHOLand eat

   And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

8. 8

   וָאֹמַרva/o/MARand I saidחָלִילָהcha/LI/lafar be itלִּיlifrom meאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordכִּיkiforכׇּל־חֹלkol-cholanything profaneוְטָמֵאve/ta/MEor uncleanלֹא־בָאlo-vahas not enteredבְּפִיbe/FIinto my mouthמֵעוֹלָם׃me/o/LAMever

   But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

9. 9

   וַיַּעֲנֵנִיvay/ya/a/NE/niand answered meהַקּוֹלhak/KOLthe voiceשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavensוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatטִהַרti/HARhas cleansedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאַתָּהat/TAyouאַל־תְּחַלְּלֶנּוּ׃al-te/chal/le/len/NUdo not profane it

   But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

10. 10

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soהָיָהha/YAit wasשָׁלֹשׁsha/LOSHthreeפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesוְהַכֹּלve/hak/KOLand allשָׁבshavreturnedוְהֹעֲלָהve/ho/a/LAand was taken upהַשָּׁמָיְמָה׃hash/sha/MAY/mainto heaven

    And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdכְרֶגַעkhe/RE/gaat that momentשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenעֹמְדִיםom/DIMwere standingעַלalatפֶּתַחPE/tachthe door ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשָׁםshamwas thereוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyשְׁלוּחִיםshe/lu/CHIMwere sentאֵלַיe/LAYto meמִקֵּיסַרְיָה׃mik/Ke/sar/YAfrom Caesarea

    And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Cæsarea unto me.

12. 12

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלַיe/LAYto meהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goאִתָּםit/TAMwith themוּלְבִלְתִּיu/le/vil/TIand notהִתְמַהְמֵהַּhit/mah/ME/ahto hesitateוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentאִתִּיit/TImeגַּם־שֵׁשֶׁתgam-SHE/shetalso sixהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMbrothersהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַנָּבוֹאvan/na/VOand we enteredאֶל־בֵּיתel-betinto the house ofהָאִישׁ׃ha/ISHthe man

    And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house:

    וַיַּגֶּד־לָנוּvay/YAG/ged-LA/nuand he told usאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־רָאָהet-a/SHER-ra/Ahow he sawהַמַּלְאָךְham/mal/AKHan angelנִצָּבnits/TSAVstandingבְּבֵיתוֹbe/ve/TOin his houseוְאֹמֵרve/o/MERand sayingאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himשְׁלַחshe/LACHsendאֶל־יָפוֹel-Ya/FOto Joppaאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenוּקְרָאu/ke/RAand callאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youאֶת־שִׁמְעוֹןet-Shim/ONSimonהַמְכֻנֶּהham/khun/NEwho is surnamedפֶטְרוֹס׃Fet/ROSPeter

    And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

14. 14

    וְהוּאve/HUand heיְדַבֵּרye/dab/BERwill speakאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khayouדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMwordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתִּוָּשַׁעtiv/va/SHAwill be savedבָּהֶםba/HEMby themאַתָּהat/TAyouוְכׇל־בֵּיתֶךָ׃ve/KHOL-be/TE/khaand all your house

    Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

15. 15

    וְכַאֲשֶׁרve/kha/a/SHERand asהַחִלּוֹתִיha/chil/lo/TII beganלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakנָפְלָהna/fe/LAfellעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasנָפְלָהna/fe/LAfellעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuon usבַּתְּחִלָּה׃bat/te/chil/LAat the first

    And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

16. 16

    וָאֶזְכֹּרva/ez/KORand I rememberedאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאָמַרa/MARhe saidיוֹחָנָןYo/cha/NANJohnהִטְבִּילhit/BILbaptizedבַּמַּיִםbam/MA/yimwith waterוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youתִּטָּבְלוּtit/ta/ve/LUwill be baptizedבְּרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃be/RU/ach-hak/KO/deshwith the Holy Spirit

    Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

17. 17

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאִם־מַתַּתim-mat/TATif the giftאַחַתa/CHAToneנָתַןna/TANgaveהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְלָנוּve/LA/nuand to usהַמַּאֲמִינִיםham/ma/a/mi/NIMwho believedבָּאָדוֹןba/a/DONon the LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahמִיmiwhoאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIam Iכִּיkithatאֶעֱצֹרe/e/TSORI could hinderלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMGod

    Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

18. 18

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּשׇׁמְעָםke/shom/AMwhen they heardזֹאתzotthisוַיַּחֲרִישׁוּvay/ya/cha/RI/shuand they were silentוַיְהַלֲלוּvay/ha/la/LUand praisedאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאָכֵןa/KHENsurelyגַּם־לַגּוֹיִםgam-Lag/go/YIMalso to the Gentilesנָתַןna/TANhas givenהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodהַתְּשׁוּבָהhat/te/shu/VAthe repentanceלַחַיִּים׃la/chay/YIMto life

    When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

19. 19

    וְהַנְּפוֹצִיםve/han/ne/fo/TSIMand those who were scatteredמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהַצָּרָהhats/tsa/RAthe distressאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhappenedעַל־אוֹדֹתal-o/DOToverאִסְטְפָנוֹסIs/te/fa/NOSStephenהָלְכוּha/le/KHUwentוָבָאוּva/VA/uand cameעַד־פִּינוּקְיָאad-Pi/nuk/YAas far as Pheniceוְקִיפְרוֹסve/Ki/fe/ROSand Cyprusוְאַנְטְיוֹכְיָאve/An/te/yokh/YAand Antiochוְלֹאve/LOand notדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUdid they speakאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe wordכִּיkibutאִםimonlyאֶל־הַיְּהוּדִיםel-Hay/ye/hu/DIMto the Jewsלְבַדָּם׃le/vad/DAMalone

    Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand there wereבְתוֹכָםve/to/KHAMamong themאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmen ofקִיפְרוֹסKi/fe/ROSCyprusוְקוּרִינִיve/Ku/ri/NIand Cyreneאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoבָּאוּBA/ucameאֶל־אַנְטְיוֹכְיָאel-An/te/yokh/YAto Antiochוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand spokeגַם־אֶל־הַיְּוָנִיםgam-el-Hay/ye/va/NIMalso to the Greeksוַיְבַשְּׂרוּvay/vas/se/RUand proclaimedאֹתָםo/TAMto themאֶת־הָאָדוֹןet-ha/a/DONthe Lordיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

21. 21

    וַתְּהִיvat/te/HIand wasעִמָּהֶםim/ma/HEMwith themיַד־יְהוָֹהyad-Adonaithe hand of the LORDוְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nubelievedוַיָּשׁוּבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand turnedאֶל־הָאָדוֹן׃el-ha/a/DONto the Lord

    And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

22. 22

    וַיִּשָּׁמַעvay/yish/sha/MAand was heardהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe wordבְּאׇזְנֵיbe/oz/NEto the ears ofהַקְּהִלָּהhak/ke/hil/LAthe churchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wasבִּירוּשָׁלָיִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemוַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUand they sentאֶת־בַּר־נַבָּאet-Bar-nab/BABarnabasאֶל־אַנְטְיוֹכְיָא׃el-An/te/yokh/YAto Antioch

    Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

23. 23

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathereוַיִּשְׂמַחvay/yis/MACHand rejoicedכִּרְאֹתוֹkir/o/TOwhen he sawאֶת־חֶסֶדet-CHE/sedthe grace ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיַּזְהֵרvay/yaz/HERand he exhortedאֶת־כֻּלָּםet-kul/LAMthem allלְדׇבְקָהle/dov/KAto cleaveבָאָדוֹןva/a/DONto the Lordבְּלֵבbe/LEVwith a heartנָכוֹן׃na/KHONsteadfast

    Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

24. 24

    כִּיkiforאִישׁisha manטוֹבtovgoodהָיָהha/YAhe wasוּמָלֵאu/ma/LEand full ofרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritוֶאֱמוּנָהve/e/mu/NAand of faithוַיֵּאָסְפוּvay/ye/a/se/FUand were addedלָאָדוֹןla/a/DONto the Lordעַםampeopleרָב׃ravmany

    For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

25. 25

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentבַּר־נַבָּאBar-nab/BABarnabasמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֶל־טַרְסוֹסel-Tar/SOSto Tarsusלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHto seekאֶת־שָׁאוּל׃et-Sha/ULSaul

    Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

26. 26

    וַיִּמְצָאvay/yim/TSAand he foundאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיְבִיאֵהוּvay/vi/E/huand brought himאֶל־אַנְטְיוֹכְיָאel-An/te/yokh/YAto Antiochוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereיֹשְׁבִיםyosh/VIMstayingיַחַדYA/chadtogetherבַּקְּהִלָּהbak/ke/hil/LAwith the churchשָׁנָהsha/NAa yearתְמִימָהte/mi/MAcompleteוּמְלַמְּדִיםu/me/lam/me/DIMand teachingעַםampeopleרָבravmanyאָזazthenהוּחַלhu/CHALit was begunבְּאַנְטְיוֹכְיָאbe/An/te/yokh/YAin Antiochלִקְרֹאlik/ROto callאֶת־הַתַּלְמִידִיםet-hat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMby the nameמְשִׁיחִיִּים׃Me/shi/chiy/YIMChristians

    And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

27. 27

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבַּיָּמִיםbay/ya/MIMin the daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseוַיֵּרְדוּvay/yer/DUand came downנְבִיאִיםne/vi/IMprophetsמִירוּשָׁלַיִםmI/ru/sha/LA/yimfrom Jerusalemאֶל־אַנְטְיוֹכְיָא׃el-An/te/yokh/YAto Antioch

    And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

28. 28

    וַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand roseאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵהֶםme/HEMof themוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameאֲגָבוֹסA/ga/VOSAgabusוַיַּגֵּדvay/yag/GEDand he toldעַל־פִּיal-pibyהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritכִּיkithatרָעָבra/AVa famineגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatיָבוֹאya/VOwould comeעַל־כׇּל־יֹשְׁבֵיal-kol-yosh/VEon all the inhabitants ofתֵבֵלte/VELthe worldוַיְהִי־כֵןvay/HI-khenand it was soבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofקְלוֹדְיוֹסKe/lod/YOSClaudiusקֵיסָר׃Ke/SARCaesar

    And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Cæsar.

29. 29

    וַיִּוָּעֲצוּvay/yiv/va/a/TSUand decidedהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesלִשְׁלֹחַlish/LO/achto sendאִישׁisheachאִישׁishmanכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasתַּשִּׂיגtas/SIGcould reachיָדוֹya/DOhis handלְעֶזְרַתle/ez/RATfor the help ofהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brothersהַיֹּשְׁבִיםhay/yosh/VIMwho dwellבִּיהוּדָה׃bI/hu/DAin Judaea

    Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judæa:

30. 30

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soגַּם־עָשׂוּgam-A/sualso they didוַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUand they sentאֶל־הַזְּקֵנִיםel-haz/ze/ke/NIMto the eldersעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEby the hands ofבַּר־נַבָּאBar-nab/BABarnabasוְשָׁאוּל׃ve/Sha/ULand Saul

    Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
