   There was a certain man in Cæsarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

   וְהוּאve/HUand he wasחָסִידcha/SIDpiousוִירֵאvi/REand fearedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodעִם־כׇּל־בְּנֵיim-kol-be/NEwith all the sons ofבֵיתוֹve/TOhis houseוְעֹשֵׂהve/O/seand didצְדָקוֹתtse/da/KOTcharitiesהַרְבֵּהhar/BEmuchלָעָםla/AMto the peopleוּמִתְפַּלֵּלu/mit/pal/LELand prayedתָּמִידta/MIDalwaysלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMto God

   A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

   וַיַּרְאvay/YARhe sawבְּמַחֲזֶהbe/ma/cha/ZEin a visionבָּרוּרba/RURclearlyכַּשָּׁעָהkash/sha/Aabout the hourהַתְּשִׁיעִיתhat/te/shi/ITninthלַיּוֹםlay/YOMof the dayמַלְאַךְmal/AKHan angel ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבָּאbacomingאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himקָרְנֵילִיּוֹס׃Ka/re/ne/liy/YOSCornelius

   He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

   וַיַּבֵּטvay/yab/BETand he lookedאֵלָיוe/LAYVat himוַיִּירָאvay/yi/RAand he was afraidוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמַה־זֶּהma-zewhat is thisאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himתְּפִלּוֹתֶיךָte/fil/lo/te/KHAyour prayersוְצִדְקוֹתֶיךָve/tsid/ko/te/KHAand your charitiesעָלוּa/LUhave gone upלְזִכָּרוֹןle/zik/ka/RONfor a memorialלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowשְׁלַח־לְךָshe/LACH-le/KHAsend for yourselfאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenאֶל־יָפוֹel-Ya/FOto Joppaוּקְרָאu/ke/RAand callאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youאֶת־שִׁמְעוֹןet-Shim/ONSimonהַמְכֻנֶּהham/khun/NEwho is surnamedפֶטְרוֹס׃Fet/ROSPeter

   And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

   הוּאhuheמִתְגּוֹרֵרmit/go/RERis stayingעִם־בּוּרְסִיim-bur/SIwith a tannerאֶחָדe/CHADoneשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonשְׁמוֹshe/MOhis nameאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseבֵּיתוֹbe/TOhouseעַל־יַדal-yadis besideהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaהוּאhuheיֹאמַרyo/MARwill tellלְךָle/KHAyouאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatעָלֶיךָa/LE/khais on youלַעֲשׂוֹת׃la/a/SOTto do

   He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

   וַיֵּלֶךְ־לוֹvay/YE/lekh-loand went awayהַמַּלְאָךְham/mal/AKHthe angelהַדֹּבֵרhad/do/VERwho spokeאֶל־קָרְנֵילִיּוֹסel-Ka/re/ne/liy/YOSto Corneliusוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledאֶל־שְׁנַיִםel-she/NA/yimtwoמֵעַבְדֵיme/av/DEof the servants ofבֵיתוֹve/TOhis houseוְאֶל־אִישׁve/EL-ishand a man ofמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarאֶחָדe/CHADoneיְרֵאye/REwho fearedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמִן־הָעֹמְדִיםmin-ha/om/DIMof those who stoodתָּמִידta/MIDcontinuallyלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himלְשָׁרֲתוֹ׃le/sha/ra/TOto serve him

   And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

   וַיְסַפֵּרvay/sap/PERand he recountedלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֵת־כׇּלet-kolallהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsוַיִּשְׁלָחֵםvay/yish/la/CHEMand sent themאֶל־יָפוֹ׃el-Ya/FOto Joppa

   And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִמׇּחֳרָתmim/mo/cho/RATon the next dayוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyהֹלְכִיםhol/KHIMwere goingבַּדֶּרֶךְbad/DE/rekhon the roadוּקְרֵבִיםu/ke/re/VIMand drawing nearלָעִירla/IRto the cityוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterעַל־הַגָּגal-hag/GAGon the roofלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELto prayכַּשָּׁעָהkash/sha/Aabout the hourהַשִּׁשִּׁית׃hash/shish/SHITsixth

   On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

    וְהוּאve/HUand heרָעֵבra/EVwas hungryמְאֹדme/ODveryוַיִּתְאָוvay/yit/AVand desiredלִטְעָם־לָחֶםlit/AM-LA/chemto taste breadוּבַהֲכִינָםu/va/ha/khi/NAMand while they preparedלוֹlofor himנָפְלָהna/fe/LAfellעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himתַּרְדֵּמָה׃tar/de/MAa deep sleep

    And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand he sawאֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִםet-hash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensנִפְתָּחִיםnif/ta/CHIMopenedוְהִנֵּה־כְלִיve/hin/NE-khe/LIand behold a vesselיֹרֵדyo/REDdescendingאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himכִּדְמוּתkid/MUTlikeמִטְפַּחַת־בַּדmit/PA/chat-bada linen sheetגְּדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatוַיּוּרַדvay/yu/RADand it was let downקָשׁוּרka/SHURtiedבְּאַרְבַּעbe/ar/BAby the fourכַּנְפוֹתָיוkan/fo/TAYVcorners of itעַל־הָאָרֶץ׃al-ha/A/retsto the earth

    And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12. 12

    וּבְתוֹכוֹu/ve/to/KHOand in itמִכׇּל־בֶּהֱמַתmik/KOL-be/he/MATof all the beasts ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוְחַיָּהve/chay/YAand wild animalsוָרֶמֶשׂva/RE/mesand creeping thingsוְעוֹףve/OFand birds ofהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimthe sky

    Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13. 13

    וַיְהִי־קוֹלvay/HI-koland there was a voiceאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingקוּםkumriseפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterטְבַחte/VACHslaughterוֶאֱכֹל׃ve/e/KHOLand eat

    And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14. 14

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterחָלִילָהcha/LI/lafar be itלִּיlifrom meאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy Lordכִּיkiforמֵעוֹלָםme/o/LAMeverלֹאlonotאָכַלְתִּיa/KHAL/tihave I eatenכׇּל־חֹלkol-cholanything profaneוְטָמֵא׃ve/ta/MEor unclean

    But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15. 15

    וַיְהִי־עוֹדvay/HI-odand there was againקוֹלkola voiceאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himפַּעַםPA/ama timeשֵׁנִיתshe/NITsecondלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatטִהַרti/HARhas cleansedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאַתָּהat/TAyouאַל־תְּחַלְּלֶנּוּ׃al-te/chal/le/len/NUdo not profane it

    And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16. 16

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soהָיָהha/YAit wasשָׁלֹשׁsha/LOSHthreeפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesוְהַכְּלִיve/hak/ke/LIand the vesselשָׁבshavreturnedוְהֹעֲלָהve/ho/a/LAand was taken upהַשָּׁמָיְמָה׃hash/sha/MAY/mainto heaven

    This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

17. 17

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּהִתְפָּעֵםbe/hit/pa/EMwhile was troubledרוּחַRU/achthe spirit ofפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterעַל־הַמַּרְאֶהal-ham/mar/Eat the visionאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאָהra/Ahe had seenוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menהַשְּׁלוּחִיםhash/she/lu/CHIMwho were sentמֵאֵתme/ETfromקָרְנֵילִיּוֹסKa/re/ne/liy/YOSCorneliusשָׁאֲלוּsha/a/LUhad askedלְבֵיתle/VETfor the house ofשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonוַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUand they stoodעַל־הַפָּתַח׃al-hap/PA/tachat the door

    Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

    וַיִּקְרְאוּvay/yik/re/Uand they calledוַיִּדְרְשׁוּvay/yid/re/SHUand inquiredהֲיֵשׁha/YESHis thereמִתְגּוֹרֵרmit/go/RERstayingשָׁםshamthereשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONSimonהַמְכֻנֶּהham/khun/NEwho is surnamedפֶטְרוֹס׃Fet/ROSPeter

    And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

19. 19

    וּפֶטְרוֹסu/Fet/ROSand Peterעוֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuwas stillחֹשֵׁבcho/SHEVthinkingעִם־לְבָבוֹim-le/va/VOwith his heartעַל־הַמַּרְאֶהal-ham/mar/Eabout the visionוְהָרוּחַve/Ha/RU/achand the Spiritאָמַרa/MARsaidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenמְבַקְשִׁיםme/vak/SHIMare seekingאוֹתְךָ׃ot/KHAyou

    While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

20. 20

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeקוּםkumariseרֵדredgo downוּלְכָה־נָּאu/le/KHA-naand go nowאִתָּםit/TAMwith themוְאַל־תַּחְשֹׁבve/AL-tach/SHOVand do not thinkחִשְּׁבֹנוֹתchish/she/vo/NOTthoughtsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyכִּיkiforאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשְׁלַחְתִּים׃she/lach/TIMhave sent them

    Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

    וַיֵּרֶדvay/YE/redand went downפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterאֶל־הָאֲנָשִׁיםel-ha/a/na/SHIMto the menהַנִּשְׁלָחִיםhan/nish/la/CHIMwho were sentאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמֵאֵתme/ETfromקָרְנֵילִיּוֹסKa/re/ne/liy/YOSCorneliusוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomאַתֶּםat/TEMyouמְבַקְשִׁיםme/vak/SHIMare seekingלָמָּה־זֶּהLAM/ma-zewhy is thisבָאתֶםva/TEMyou have comeהֵנָּה׃HEN/nahere

    Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidקָרְנֵילִיּוֹסKa/re/ne/liy/YOSCorneliusשַׂר־מֵאָהsar-me/Aa centurionאִישׁisha manצַדִּיקtsad/DIKjustוִירֵאvi/REand fearingאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוְלוֹve/LOand he hasשֵׁם־טוֹבshem-tova good nameבְּכׇל־עַםbe/KHOL-amamong all the people ofהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsנִזְהַרniz/HARwas warnedמֵאֵתme/ETfromהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעַל־פִּיal-pibyמַלְאָךְmal/AKHan angelקָדוֹשׁka/DOSHholyלִקְרֹאlik/ROto callלְךָle/KHAfor youאֶל־בֵּיתוֹel-be/TOinto his houseוְלִשְׁמֹעַve/lish/MO/aand to hearדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMwordsמִפִּיךָ׃mip/PI/khafrom your mouth

    And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

23. 23

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledאֹתָםo/TAMthemאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himוַיַּאַסְפֵםvay/ya/as/FEMand gathered themהַבָּיְתָהhab/BAY/tainto the houseוַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passמִמׇּחֳרָתmim/mo/cho/RATon the next dayוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outפֶטְרוֹסFet/ROSPeterאִתָּםit/TAMwith themוּמִקְצָתu/mik/TSATand some ofהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brothersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבְּיָפוֹbe/Ya/FOfrom Joppaהָלְכוּha/le/KHUwentעִמּוֹ׃im/MOhim

    Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24. 24

    וּלְמׇחֳרָתוֹu/le/mo/cho/ra/TOand on its next dayבָּאוּBA/uthey cameאֶל־קֵיסַרְיָהel-Ke/sar/YAinto Caesareaוְקָרְנֵילִיּוֹסve/Ka/re/ne/liy/YOSand Corneliusמְחַכֶּהme/chak/KEwas waitingלָהֶםla/HEMfor themוְעִמּוֹve/im/MOand with himקְרוֹבָיוke/ro/VAYVhis relativesוּמְיֻדָּעָיוu/me/yud/da/AYVand his close friendsהַנִּקְהָלִיםhan/nik/ha/LIMwho were gatheredאֵלָיו׃e/LAYVto him

    And the morrow after they entered into Cæsarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25. 25

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passכְּבוֹאke/VOwhen cameפֶטְרוֹסFet/ROSPeterוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went outקָרְנֵילִיּוֹסKa/re/ne/liy/YOSCorneliusלִקְרָאתוֹlik/ra/TOto meet himוַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand fellלְרַגְלָיוle/rag/LAYVat his feetוַיִּשְׁתָּחוּ׃vay/yish/TA/chuand bowed down

    And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26. 26

    וַיָּקֶםvay/YA/kemand raisedאוֹתוֹo/TOhimפֶטְרוֹסFet/ROSPeterוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidקוּםkumriseכִּיkiforגַּם־אֲנִיgam-a/NII alsoאֱנוֹשׁe/NOSHa mortalאָנֹכִי׃a/no/KHIam

    But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

27. 27

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand he spokeאִתּוֹit/TOwith himוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he enteredהַבָּיְתָהhab/BAY/tathe houseוַיִּמְצָאvay/yim/TSAand foundרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyנֶאֱסָפִיםne/e/sa/FIMgatheredשָׁמָּה׃SHAM/mathere

    And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

28. 28

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themאַתֶּםat/TEMyouיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowכִּי־אָסוּרki-a/SURthat forbiddenהוּאhuit isלְאִישׁle/ISHfor a manיְהוּדִיYe/hu/DIa Jewלְהִלָּוֹתle/hil/la/VOTto joinוְלִקְרֹבve/lik/ROVor to approachאֶל־נׇכְרִיel-nokh/RIa foreignerוְאֹתִיve/o/TIand meהוֹרָהho/RAhas taughtאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInotאֱמֹרe/MORto callחֹלcholcommonאוֹ־טָמֵאo-ta/MEor uncleanעַל־כׇּל־אָדָם׃al-kol-a/DAMany man

    And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

    וּבַעֲבוּרu/va/a/VURand because ofזֹאתzotthisכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenנִקְרֵאתִיnik/re/TII was calledלֹאlonotנִמְנַעְתִּיnim/na/TIdid I refrainמֵהֲלֹךְme/ha/LOKHfrom goingוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֶשְׁאָלְכֶםesh/a/le/KHEMI ask youעַל־מַה־זֶּהal-ma-zefor what reasonקְרָאתֶםke/ra/TEMyou calledלִי׃lime

    Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

30. 30

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidקָרְנֵילִיּוֹסKa/re/ne/liy/YOSCorneliusזֶהzethis isאַרְבָּעָהar/ba/Afourיָמִיםya/MIMdaysהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI wasצָםtsamfastingעַד־הַשָּׁעָהad-hash/sha/Auntil the hourהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוּבַשָּׁעָהu/vash/sha/Aand in the hourהַתְּשִׁיעִיתhat/te/shi/ITninthהִתְפַּלַּלְתִּיhit/pal/lal/TII prayedבְתוֹךְve/TOKHwithinבֵּיתִיbe/TImy houseוְהִנֵּה־אִישׁve/hin/NE-ishand behold a manנִצָּבnits/TSAVstoodלְפָנַיle/fa/NAYbefore meבִּלְבוּשׁbil/VUSHin clothing ofזֹהַר׃ZO/harbrightness

    And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31. 31

    וַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand he saidקָרְנֵילִיּוֹסKa/re/ne/liy/YOSCorneliusנִשְׁמְעָהnish/me/Ahas been heardתְפִלָּתְךָte/fil/la/te/KHAyour prayerוְצִדְקוֹתֶיךָve/tsid/ko/te/KHAand your charitiesהָיוּha/YUhave beenלְזִכָּרוֹןle/zik/ka/RONin remembranceלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

32. 32

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowשְׁלַחshe/LACHsendאֶל־יָפוֹel-Ya/FOto Joppaוּקְרָאu/ke/RAand callאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youאֶת־שִׁמְעוֹןet-Shim/ONSimonהַמְכֻנֶּהham/khun/NEwho is surnamedפֶטְרוֹסFet/ROSPeterמִתְגּוֹרֵרmit/go/RERis stayingהוּאhuheבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofשִׁמְעוֹןShim/ONone Simonהַבּוּרְסִיhab/bur/SIa tannerעַל־הַיָּםal-hay/YAMby the seaאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoבְּבוֹאוֹbe/vo/Owhen he comesיְדַבֶּר־לָךְ׃ye/dab/BER-lakhwill speak to you

    Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

    וָאֲמַהֵרva/a/ma/HERand I hurriedוָאֶשְׁלַחva/esh/LACHand sentאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youהֵיטַבְתָּhe/TAV/tahave done wellלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTin doingאֲשֶׁר־בָּאתָa/SHER-BA/tathat you cameאֵלָיe/LAYto meוְהִנְנוּve/hin/NUand behold weכֻּלָּנוּkul/LA/nuall of usפֹהfoare hereלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall thatצֻוֵּיתָtsuv/ve/TAyou have been commandedמֵאֵתme/ETofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

    וַיִּפְתַּחvay/yif/TACHand openedפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterאֶת־פִּיוet-pivhis mouthוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidעַתָּהat/TAnowיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowבֶאֱמֶתve/e/METtrulyכִּיkithatהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notנֹשֵׂאno/SEone who liftsפָנִים׃fa/NIMfaces

    Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

35. 35

    כִּיkibutאִם־בְּכׇל־עַםim-be/KHOL-amonly in every peopleוָעָםva/AMand peopleהַיָּרֵאhay/ya/REwhoever fearsאוֹתוֹo/TOHimוְעֹשֶׂהve/O/seand doesצֶּדֶקTSE/dekrighteousnessרָצוּיra/TSUYacceptableהוּאhuisלְפָנָיו׃le/fa/NAYVbefore Him

    But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

36. 36

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand He sentאֶת־דְּבָרוֹet-de/va/ROHis wordלִבְנֵיliv/NEto the sons ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיְבַשֵּׂרvay/vas/SERand proclaimedאֶת־הַשָּׁלוֹםet-hash/sha/LOMpeaceעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahוְהוּאve/HUand he isאֲדוֹןa/DONLord ofהַכֹּל׃hak/KOLall

    The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

37. 37

    אַתֶּםat/TEMyouיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe matterהַנַּעֲשֶׂהhan/na/a/SEthat happenedבְכׇל־יְהוּדָהve/KHOL-ye/hu/DAthroughout all Judaeaהָחֵלha/CHELbeginningמִן־הַגָּלִילmin-Hag/ga/LILfrom Galileeאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַטְּבִילָהhat/te/vi/LAthe baptismאֲשֶׁר־קָרָאa/SHER-ka/RAthat proclaimedאֹתָהּo/TAitיוֹחָנָן׃Yo/cha/NANJohn

    That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judæa, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

    אֵת־אֲשֶׁר־מָשַׁחet-a/SHER-ma/SHACHhow anointedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֶת־יֵשׁוּעַet-Ye/SHU/aJesusהַנָּצְרִיhan/Na/tse/RIof Nazarethבְּרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁbe/RU/ach-hak/KO/deshwith the Holy Spiritוּבִגְבוּרָהu/vig/vu/RAand with powerוַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORand he passedבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsthrough the landעֹשֵׂהo/SEdoingחֶסֶדCHE/sedkindnessוְרֹפֵאve/ro/FEand healingאֶת־כׇּל־הַנִּכְבָּשִׁיםet-kol-han/nikh/ba/SHIMall who were subduedתַּחַתTA/chatunderיַדyadthe hand ofהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanכִּיkiforהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodהָיָהha/YAwasעִמּוֹ׃im/MOwith him

    How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

39. 39

    וַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand we areעֵדִיםe/DIMwitnessesעַל־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרal-kol-a/SHERof all thatעָשָׂהa/SAhe didבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMthe Jewsוּבִירוּשָׁלַיִםu/Vi/ru/sha/LA/yimand in Jerusalemוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whomהֱמִתֻהוּhe/mi/tu/HUthey killedבְּהוֹקִיעָםbe/ho/ki/AMby hangingאֹתוֹo/TOhimעַל־הָעֵץ׃al-ha/ETSon the tree

    And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

40. 40

    אוֹתוֹo/TOhimהֵקִיםhe/KIMraised upהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdוַיִּתְּנֵהוּvay/yit/te/NE/huand gave himלְהֵרָאוֹתle/he/ra/OTto appearבְּגָלוּי׃be/ga/LUYopenly

    Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

41. 41

    לֹאlonotלְכׇל־הָעָםle/KHOL-ha/AMto all the peopleכִּיkibutאִםimonlyלָנוּLA/nuto usהָעֵדִיםha/e/DIMwitnessesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבָּחַרba/CHARchoseבָּהֶםba/HEMthemמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHbeforehandאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאָכַלְנוּa/KHAL/nuateוְשָׁתִינוּve/sha/TI/nuand drankאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterקוּמוֹku/MOhis risingמִן־הַמֵּתִים׃min-ham/me/TIMfrom the dead

    Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

42. 42

    וַיְצַוvay/TSAVand he commandedאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusלְהַשְׁמִיעַle/hash/MI/ato proclaimלָעָםla/AMto the peopleוּלְהָעִידu/le/ha/IDand to testifyכִּיkithatאֹתוֹo/TOhimשָׂםsamhas setהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלְשׁוֹפֵטle/sho/FETas judge ofהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMthe livingוְהַמֵּתִים׃ve/ham/me/TIMand dead

    And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

43. 43

    וְעָלָיוve/a/LAYVand about himכׇּל־הַנְּבִיאִיםkol-han/ne/vi/IMall the prophetsמְעִידִיםme/i/DIMgive witnessכִּיkithatיְקַבְּלוּye/kab/be/LUwill receiveסְלִיחַתse/li/CHATforgiveness ofחֲטָאִיםcha/ta/IMsinsבִּשְׁמוֹbish/MOby his nameכׇּל־הַמַּאֲמִינִיםkol-ham/ma/a/mi/NIMall who believeבּוֹ׃boin him

    To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

44. 44

    וּפֶטְרוֹסu/Fet/ROSand Peterעוֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuwas stillמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakingהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁve/RU/ach-hak/KO/deshand the Holy Spiritנָפְלָהna/fe/LAfellעַלalonכׇּל־הַשֹּׁמְעִיםkol-hash/shom/IMall who heardאֶת־הַדָּבָר׃et-had/da/VARthe word

    While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45. 45

    וְהַמַּאֲמִינִיםve/ham/ma/a/mi/NIMand the believersהַמּוּלִיםham/mu/LIMwho were circumcisedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoבָּאוּBA/uhad come withאֶת־פֶּטְרוֹסet-Pet/ROSPeterתָּמְהוּta/me/HUmarveledכִּי־מַתַּתki-mat/TATfor the gift ofרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritנִשְׁפְּכָהnish/pe/KHAwas poured outגַּםgamalsoעַל־הַגּוֹיִם׃al-Hag/go/YIMon the Gentiles

    And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46. 46

    כִּיkiforשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uthey heardאֹתָםo/TAMthemמְמַלֲלִיםme/ma/la/LIMspeakingבִּלְשֹׁנוֹתbil/sho/NOTwith tonguesוּמְגַדְּלִיםu/me/gad/de/LIMand magnifyingאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand answeredפֶּטְרוֹסPet/ROSPeterוַיֹּאמַר׃vay/yo/MARand said

    For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

    הֲיוּכַלha/YU/khalcanאִישׁisha manלִמְנֹעַlim/NO/awithholdאֶת־הַמַּיִםet-ham/MA/yimthe waterמִטְּבֹלmit/te/VOLfrom baptizingאֶת־אֵלֶּהet-EL/letheseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoקִבְּלוּkib/be/LUhave receivedאֶת־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁet-RU/ach-hak/KO/deshthe Holy Spiritגַּם־הֵםgam-hemthey alsoכָּמֹנוּ׃ka/MO/nulike us

    Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48. 48

    וַיְצַוvay/TSAVand he commandedבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDלִטְבֹּלlit/BOLto baptizeאֹתָםo/TAMthemוַיְבַקְשׁוּvay/vak/SHUand they askedמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuhimלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetto stayאִתָּםit/TAMwith themיָמִיםya/MIMdaysאֲחָדִים׃a/cha/DIMsome

    And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
