   Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

   לְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notתָנוּעוּta/nu/Uyou be shakenמַהֵרma/HERquicklyבְּמַחְשְׁבוֹתֵיכֶםbe/mach/she/vo/te/KHEMin your thoughtsוְלֹאve/LOorתִבָּהֲלוּtib/ba/ha/LUbe troubledלֹאlonotבְרוּחַve/RU/achby a spiritוְלֹאve/LOorבְדָבָרve/da/VARby wordוְלֹאve/LOnorבְאִגֶּרֶתve/ig/GE/retby a letterכְּמוֹke/MOasמֵאִתָּנוּme/it/TA/nufrom usלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכִּיkithatקָרוֹבka/ROVis nearיוֹםyomthe day ofהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

   That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

   אַל־יַשִּׁיאal-yash/SHIlet not deceiveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאִישׁishanyoneבְּכׇל־דֶּרֶךְbe/KHOL-DE/rekhin any wayכִּיkiforלֹאlonotיָבֹאya/VOwill comeהַיּוֹםhay/YOMdayהַהוּאha/HUthatעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּבוֹאta/VOcomesהַמְּשׁוּבָהham/me/shu/VAthe apostasyבָרִאשׁוֹנָהva/ri/sho/NAfirstוְנִגְלָהve/nig/LAand is revealedאִישׁishthe man ofהַחַטָּאָהha/chat/ta/Asinבֶּן־אֲבַדּוֹן׃ben-a/vad/DONthe son of perdition

   Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

   הַמִּתְקוֹמֵםham/mit/ko/MEMwho opposesוְהַמִּתְרוֹמֵםve/ham/mit/ro/MEMand exalts himselfעַל־כׇּל־הַנִּקְרָאal-kol-han/nik/RAabove all that is calledאֵלelgodאוֹoorנֶעֱבָדne/e/VADis worshipedעַדadsoאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיֵשֵׁבye/SHEVhe sitsכֵּאלֹהִיםke/lo/HIMas Godבְּהֵיכַלbe/he/KHALin the temple ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוּמַרְאֶהu/mar/Eand showsאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹet-naf/SHOhimselfכִּיkithatאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהוּא׃huhe is

   Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

   הֲלֹאha/LOdo notתִזְכְּרוּtiz/ke/RUyou rememberכִּי־בְעוֹדki-ve/ODthat while stillהֱיוֹתִיhe/yo/TII wasאִתְּכֶםit/te/KHEMwith youאֵלֶּהEL/lethese thingsדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI saidאֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMto you

   Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6. 6

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowאֶת־הַמֹּנֵעַet-ham/mo/NE/athe one who restrainsלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִגָּלֶהyig/ga/LEhe will be revealedבְּעִתּוֹ׃be/it/TOin his time

   And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

   כִּיkiforסוֹדsodthe secret ofהָרֶשַׁעha/RE/shawickednessכְּבָרke/VARalreadyפֹּעֵלpo/ELworksרַקrakonlyהַמֹּנֵעַham/MO/ne/athe one who restrainsעַתָּהat/TAnowיִמְנַעyim/NArestrainsעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיוּסַרyu/SARis removedמִן־הַדֶּרֶךְ׃min-had/DE/rekhout of the way

   For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8. 8

   וְאָזve/AZand thenיִגָּלֶהyig/ga/LEwill be revealedהָרָשָׁעha/ra/SHAthe wicked oneאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomיְכַלֶּנּוּye/khal/len/NUwill consume himהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achwith the breath ofפִּיוpivhis mouthוְיַשְׁבִּיתֶנּוּve/yash/bi/ten/NUand will abolish himבְּנֹגַהּbe/NO/gawith the brightness ofבּוֹאוֹ׃bo/Ohis coming

   And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9. 9

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseבּוֹאוֹbo/Ohis comingכְּפִיke/FIaccording toפְּעֻלַּתpe/ul/LATthe working ofהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanבְּכׇל־כֹּחַbe/KHOL-KO/achwith all strengthוּבְאֹתוֹתu/ve/o/TOTand with signsוּבְמוֹפְתֵיu/ve/mof/TEand with wonders ofשָׁקֶר׃SHA/kerfalsehood

   Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10. 10

    וּבְכׇל־מִרְמַתu/ve/KHOL-mir/MATand with all the deceit ofעַוְלָהav/LAunrighteousnessבָּאֹבְדִיםba/ov/DIMamong those who perishתַּחַתTA/chatbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotקִבְּלוּkib/be/LUreceivedאֶת־אַהֲבַתet-a/ha/VATthe love ofהָאֱמֶתha/e/METthe truthלְהִוָּשֵׁעַ׃le/hiv/va/SHE/ato be saved

    And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11. 11

    וְעַל־כֵּןve/AL-kenand thereforeיִשְׁלַחyish/LACHwill sendלָהֶםla/HEMto themהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodפְּעֻלַּתpe/ul/LATthe working ofתַּעְתֻּעִיםta/tu/IMdelusionלְהַאֲמִיןle/ha/a/MINto believeבַּשָּׁקֶר׃bash/SHA/kerthe lie

    And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12. 12

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִדּוֹנוּyid/do/NUmay be judgedכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall whoלֹא־הֶאֱמִינוּlo-he/e/MI/nudid not believeבָאֱמֶתva/e/METthe truthוְרָצוּve/ra/TSUand delightedבָּעַוְלָה׃ba/av/LAin wrong

    That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13. 13

    וַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nubut weעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuit is on usלְהוֹדוֹתle/ho/DOTto give thanksתָּמִידta/MIDalwaysלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godבַּעֲבוּרְכֶםba/a/vur/KHEMfor youאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersיְדִידֵיye/di/DEbeloved ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordכִּיkibecauseהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבָּחַרba/CHARchoseבָּכֶםba/KHEMyouמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHfrom the beginningלִישׁוּעָהli/shu/Afor salvationבִּקְדֻשַּׁתbik/dush/SHATin the holiness ofהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritוּבֶאֱמוּנַתu/ve/e/mu/NATand in faith ofהָאֱמֶת׃ha/e/METthe truth

    But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14. 14

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whichלָהּlato itקָרָאka/RAHe calledאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבִּבְשׂוֹרָתֵנוּbiv/so/ra/te/NUthrough our gospelלְהַשִּׂיגle/has/SIGto obtainאֶת־כְּבוֹדet-ke/VODthe glory ofאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15. 15

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersעִמְדוּim/DUstandוְהַחֲזִיקוּve/ha/cha/ZI/kuand holdבַקַּבָּלוֹתvak/kab/ba/LOTto the traditionsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֻמַּדְתֶּםlum/mad/TEMyou were taughtאִםimwhetherבְּדָבָרbe/da/VARby wordאִםimorבְּאִגַּרְתֵּנוּ׃be/ig/gar/te/NUby our letter

    Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

16. 16

    וַאֲדֹנֵינוּva/a/do/NE/nuand our LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahהוּאhuhimselfוֵאלֹהִיםve/lo/HIMand GodאָבִינוּA/VI/nuour Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאָהַבa/HAVlovedאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusוַיִּתֶּן־לָנוּvay/YIT/ten-LA/nuand gave usנֶחָמַתne/cha/MATthe comfort ofעוֹלָםo/LAMeternityוְתִקְוָהve/tik/VAand hopeטוֹבָהto/VAgoodבְּחֶסֶד׃be/CHE/sedby grace

    Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17. 17

    הוּאhuHeיְנַחֵםye/na/CHEMcomfortאֶת־לְבַבְכֶםet-le/vav/KHEMyour heartsוִיחַזֵּקvi/chaz/ZEKand strengthenאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבְּכׇל־דָּבָרbe/KHOL-da/VARin every wordוּמַעֲשֶׂהu/ma/a/SEand workטוֹב׃tovgood

    Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
