1. 1

   הֵןforיָדַעְנוּwe-knowכִּיthatבֵּהָרֵסif-were-dissolvedבֵּיתthe-house-ofאׇהֳלֵנוּour-tabernacleאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּאָרֶץis-earthlyיֶשׁ־לָנוּwe-haveבִנְיָןa-buildingמֵאֵתofהָאֱלֹהִיםGodבַּיִתa-houseאֲשֶׁרwhichאֵינֶנּוּis-notמַעֲשֵׂהmade-withיָדַיִםhandsוְהוּאand-it-isקַיָּםeternalלְעוֹלָםfor-everבַּשָּׁמָיִם׃in-the-heavens

   For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2. 2

   כִּיbecauseגַם־עַתָּהeven-nowנֶאֱנָחִיםwe-groanוְנִכְסָפִיםearnestly-desiringאֲנַחְנוּweלְהִתְעַטֵּףto-be-clothed-uponבְּבֵיתֵנוּwith-our-houseאֲשֶׁרwhich-isמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃from-heaven

   For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

3. 3

   וּבִלְבַדif-so-beשֶׁאַחֲרֵיthat-afterלְבַשְׁנֻהוּwe-are-clothedלֹאnotנִמָּצֵאwe-shall-be-foundעֲרֻמִּים׃naked

   If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

4. 4

   כִּיbecauseבְּאׇהֳלֵנוּin-our-tabernacleזֶהthisנֵאָנַחwe-groanתַּחַתbeingהַמַּשָּׂאburdenedמִתְאַוִּיםdesiringלְהִתְעַטֵּףto-be-clothed-uponוְלֹאand-notלִפְשֹׁטto-be-unclothedלְמַעַןthatיְבֻלַּעmight-be-swallowed-upהַמָּוֶתmortalityעַל־יְדֵיofהַחַיִּים׃life

   For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

5. 5

   וֵאלֹהִיםnow-Godתִּקֵּןhath-wroughtאֹתָנוּusלְכָךְfor-the-selfsame-thingאֲשֶׁרwhoגַּם־נָתַןalso-hath-givenלָנוּunto-usאֶת־רוּחוֹhis-Spiritלְעֵרָבוֹן׃as-the-earnest

   Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

6. 6

   לָכֵןthereforeבְּטוּחִיםconfidentאֲנַחְנוּwe-areבְּכׇל־עֵתalwaysוְיֹדְעִיםknowingכִּיthatכׇל־עוֹדwhilstשֶׁמּוֹשָׁבֵנוּwe-are-at-homeבַגּוּףin-the-bodyרְחוֹקִיםabsentאֲנַחְנוּwe-areמִן־הָאָדוֹן׃from-the-Lord

   Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

   כִּיforבֶאֱמוּנָהby-faithנִתְהַלֵּךְwe-walkוְלֹאnotבִּרְאוּתby-the-sight-ofעֵינָיִם׃eyes

   (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

8. 8

   אֲבָלbutבְּטוּחִיםconfidentאֲנַחְנוּwe-areוְהַטּוֹבand-it-is-goodבְּעֵינֵינוּin-our-eyesלְהִתְרַחֵקto-be-absentמִן־הַגּוּףfrom-the-bodyוְלִהְיוֹתand-to-beקְרוֹבִיםpresentאֶל־הָאָדוֹן׃with-the-Lord

   We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

9. 9

   וְלָכֵןwhereforeאִם־קְרוֹבִיםwhether-presentאֲנַחְנוּweאִם־רְחוֹקִיםor-absentנִשְׁתַּדֵּלwe-laborלִמְצֹאto-findחֵןfavorבְּעֵינָיו׃in-his-eyes

   Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

10. 10

    כִּיbecauseכֻלָּנוּwe-allעֲתִידִיםmustלְהֵרָאוֹתappearלִפְנֵיbeforeכִסֵּא־דִיןthe-judgment-seat-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahלְמַעַןthatיִשָּׂאmay-receiveאִישׁevery-oneכְּפׇעֳלוֹaccording-to-his-deedsבְּחַיֵּיin-the-life-ofגוּפוֹhis-bodyאִם־טוֹבwhether-goodוְאִם־רָע׃or-bad

    For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

11. 11

    וְעַתָּהnowיַעַןbecauseאֲשֶׁרthatיִרְאַתthe-terror-ofאֲדֹנָיthe-Lordלְנֶגֶדis-beforeעֵינֵינוּour-eyesנְדַבֵּרwe-persuadeעַל־לֵבupon-the-heart-ofבְּנֵיthe-sons-ofאָדָםmenוְלֵאלֹהִיםbut-unto-Godאֲנַחְנוּwe-areגְלוּיִםmade-manifestוַאֲקַוֶּהand-I-trustכִּי־גְלוּיִםthat-made-manifestאֲנַחְנוּwe-areגַּםalsoבְּמַדָּעֲכֶם׃in-your-consciences

    Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

12. 12

    כִּיbecauseאֵיןnotאֲנַחְנוּweמִשְׁתַּבְּחִיםcommend-ourselvesשֵׁנִיתagainלִפְנֵיכֶםunto-youכִּיbutאִםratherמַמְצִיאִיםgiveלָכֶםyouמָקוֹםoccasionלְהִתְפָּאֵרto-gloryבָּנוּon-our-behalfכְּנֶגֶדthat-you-may-answerהַמִּתְפָּאֲרִיםthem-which-gloryבִּפְנֵיהֶםin-appearanceוְלֹאand-notבְלִבָּם׃in-heart

    For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

13. 13

    כִּיbecauseאִם־הִשְׁתַּגַּעְנוּwhether-we-be-beside-ourselvesהִשְׁתַּגַּעְנוּit-isלֵאלֹהִיםto-Godוְאִם־הִשְׂכַּלְנוּor-whether-we-be-soberהִשְׂכַּלְנוּit-isלָכֶם׃for-your-cause

    For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

14. 14

    כִּי־אֲחוּזֵיfor-constrained-byאַהֲבַתthe-love-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahאֲנַחְנוּwe-areהַדָּנִיםbecause-we-judgeשֶׁאִם־מֵתthat-if-diedאֶחָדoneבְּעַדforכֻּלָּםallכֻּלָּםallמֵתוּ׃were-dead

    For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

15. 15

    וּבְעַדand-forכֻּלָּםallמֵתhe-diedלְמַעַןthatלֹא־יִחְיוּshould-not-liveהַחַיִּיםthey-which-liveעוֹדhenceforthלְנַפְשָׁםunto-themselvesכִּיbutאִם־לַאֲשֶׁרunto-him-whichמֵתdiedוְקָםand-rose-againבַּעֲדָם׃for-them

    And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

16. 16

    לָכֵןthereforeמֵעַתָּהhenceforthאֲנַחְנוּweלֹא־נֵדַעknow-noאִישׁmanמִן־הַבָּשָׂרafter-the-fleshוְגַםyeaאִם־יָדַעְנוּthough-we-have-knownאֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahמִן־הַבָּשָׂרafter-the-fleshמֵעַתָּהyet-now-henceforthלֹא־נֵדָעֵהוּknow-we-him-notעוֹד׃any-more

    Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

17. 17

    לָכֵןthereforeמִיif-any-manשֶׁהוּאbeבַמָּשִׁיחַin-the-Messiahבְּרִיָּהa-creatureחֲדָשָׁהnewהוּאhe-isהָרִאשֹׁנוֹתold-thingsעָבָרוּare-passed-awayהִנֵּהbeholdהַכֹּלall-thingsנַעֲשׂוּare-becomeחֲדָשׁוֹת׃new

    Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18. 18

    וְהַכֹּלand-all-thingsמֵאֵתofהָאֱלֹהִיםGodהַמְרַצֶּהwho-hath-reconciledאֹתָנוּusלְעַצְמוֹto-himselfעַל־יְדֵיbyיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahוַיִּתֶּן־לָנוּand-hath-given-usשֵׁרוּתthe-ministry-ofהָרִצּוּי׃reconciliation

    And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19. 19

    יַעַןto-witאֲשֶׁרthatאֱלֹהִיםGodהָיָהwasבַמָּשִׁיחַin-the-Messiahמְרַצֶּהreconcilingאֶת־הָעוֹלָםthe-worldלְעַצְמוֹunto-himselfוְלֹא־חָשַׁבnot-imputingלָהֶםunto-themאֶת־פִּשְׁעֵיהֶםtheir-trespassesוַיָּשֶׂםand-hath-committedבָּנוּunto-usאֶת־דְּבַרthe-word-ofהָרִצּוּי׃reconciliation

    To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20. 20

    וּבְכֵןnow-thenמְלִיצֵיambassadors-forהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahאֲנַחְנוּwe-areוְהָאֱלֹהִיםas-though-Godמַזְהִירdid-beseechאֶתְכֶםyouעַל־יָדֵנוּby-usנְבַקֵּשׁwe-prayמִכֶּםyouבְּעַדin-stead-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahהִתְכַּפְּרוּ־נָאbe-reconciledלֵאלֹהִים׃to-God

    Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21. 21

    כִּיbecauseאֶת־אֲשֶׁרhim-whoלֹא־יָדַעknew-noחֲטָאָהsinאֹתוֹhimעָשָׂהhe-hath-madeלַחֲטָאָהto-be-sinבַּעֲדֵנוּfor-usלְמַעַןthatנִהְיֶה־בּוֹwe-might-be-in-himאֲנַחְנוּweלְצִדְקַתthe-righteousness-ofאֱלֹהִים׃God

    For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
