   כִּיkithatיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowכִּיkithatאִם־יֵהָרֵסim-ye/ha/RESif is torn downבֵּיתbetthe house ofאׇהֳלֵנוּo/ho/le/NUour tentאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the earthיֶשׁ־לָנוּyesh-LA/nuwe haveבִנְיָןvin/YANa buildingמֵאֵתme/ETfromהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבַּיִתBA/yita houseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notמַעֲשֵׂהma/a/SEthe work ofיָדַיִםya/DA/yimhandsוְהוּאve/HUand it isעֹמֵדo/MEDstandsלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverבַּשָּׁמָיִם׃bash/sha/MA/yimin the heavens

   For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2. 2

   כִּיkibecauseבָזֶהva/ZEin thisנֶאֱנָחִיםne/e/na/CHIMwe groanוְנִכְסָפִיםve/nikh/sa/FIMand longingאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweלִלְבֹּשׁlil/BOSHto put onאֶת־בֵּיתֵנוּet-be/te/NUwith our houseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃min-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom the heavens

   For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

3. 3

   אִם־אׇמְנָםim-om/NAMif indeedמְלֻבָּשִׁיםme/lub/ba/SHIMclothedלֹאlonotנִמָּצֵאnim/ma/TSEwill we be foundעֲרֻמִּים׃a/rum/MIMnaked

   If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

   כִּיkibecauseאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat areבָּאֹהֶלba/O/helin the tentהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisנֶאֱנָחִיםne/e/na/CHIMwe groanעֲמוּסִיםa/mu/SIMburdenedלֹאlonotכִּיkiforנַחְפֹּץnach/POTSwe wantלִפְשֹׁטlif/SHOTto strip offכִּיkibutאִם־לִלְבֹּשׁim-lil/BOSHrather to put onלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיְבֻלַּעye/vul/LAmight be swallowed upאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat whichיָמוּתya/MUTwill dieעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEofהַחַיִּים׃ha/chay/YIMlife

   For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

   וְהָעֹשֶׂהve/ha/o/SEand the one who doesאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusלָזֹאתla/ZOTfor thisהוּאhuisהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoגַּם־נָתַןgam-na/TANalso has givenלָנוּLA/nuto usאֶת־עֵרְבוֹןet-er/VONthe pledge ofהָרוּחַ׃ha/RU/achthe Spirit

   Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeבְּטוּחִיםbe/tu/CHIMconfidentאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areבְּכׇל־עֵתbe/KHOL-etalwaysוְיֹדְעִיםve/yod/IMknowingכִּיkithatבְּשִׁבְתֵּנוּbe/shiv/TE/nuwhile we dwellבַגּוּףvag/GUFin the bodyרְחוֹקִיםre/cho/KIMfarאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areמִן־הָאָדוֹן׃min-ha/a/DONfrom the Lord

   Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

   כִּיkiforבֶאֱמוּנָהve/e/mu/NAby faithנִתְהַלֵּךְnit/hal/LEKHwe walkוְלֹאve/LOand notבִּרְאוּתbir/UTby the seeing ofעֵינָיִם׃e/NA/yimeyes

   (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

   בְּטוּחִיםbe/tu/CHIMconfidentאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayוְטוֹבve/TOVand it is betterבְּעֵינֵינוּbe/e/NE/nuin our eyesלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beרְחוֹקִיםre/cho/KIMfarמִן־הַגּוּףmin-hag/GUFfrom the bodyוְלִהְיוֹתve/lih/YOTand to beקְרוֹבִיםke/ro/VIMnearאֶל־הָאָדוֹן׃el-ha/a/DONto the Lord

   We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

9. 9

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeנַעֲמֹלna/a/MOLwe toilלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatאִם־קְרוֹבִיםim-ke/ro/VIMwhether nearאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweאִם־רְחוֹקִיםim-re/cho/KIMor farנִמְצָאnim/TSAbe foundחֵןchenfavorבְּעֵינָיו׃be/e/NAYVin his eyes

   Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

    כִּיkibecauseכֻלָּנוּkhul/LA/nuall of usעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuwe mustלְהֵרָאוֹתle/he/ra/OTappearלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeכִסֵּאkhis/SEthe seat ofדִּיןdinjudgmentהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִשָּׂאyis/SAmay receiveאִישׁisheach manאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatנַעֲשָׂהna/a/SAwas doneבְּגוּפוֹbe/gu/FOin his bodyכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasעָשָׂהa/SAhe has doneאִם־טוֹבim-tovwhether goodוְאִם־רָע׃ve/IM-raor evil

    For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeבְּדַעְתֵּנוּbe/da/te/NUin our knowingאֶת־אֵימַתet-E/matthe terror ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordנְדַבֵּרne/dab/BERwe speakעַל־לֵבal-levto the heart ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenוְלֵאלֹהִיםve/le/lo/HIMand to Godגְּלוּיִםge/lu/YIMrevealedאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areוַאֲקַוֶּהva/a/kav/VEand I hopeכִּיkithatגַםgamalsoגְלוּיִםge/lu/YIMrevealedאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areבְּלִבְבֵיכֶם׃be/liv/ve/KHEMin your hearts

    Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

12. 12

    כִּיkibecauseלֹאlonotנַזְכִּירnaz/KIRwe commendשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainאֶת־נַפְשֵׁנוּet-naf/SHE/nuourselvesלְטוֹבָהle/to/VAfor goodלִפְנֵיכֶםlif/ne/KHEMbefore youכִּיkibutאִם־נִתֵּןim-nit/TENrather we giveלָכֶםla/KHEMyouתֹּאֲנָהto/a/NAoccasionלְהִתְהַלֵּלle/hit/hal/LELto boastבָּנוּBA/nuin usלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִהְיֶהyih/YEwill beלָכֶםla/KHEMto youמַעֲנֶהma/a/NEan answerלַמִּתְהַלְלִיםlam/mit/hal/LIMto those who boastלַעֵינַיִםla/e/NA/yimto the eyesוְלֹאve/LOand notבַלֵּבָב׃val/le/VAVin the heart

    For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

13. 13

    כִּיkiforאִם־הִשְׁתַּגַּעְנוּim-hish/tag/ga/NUif we were madהִשְׁתַּגַּעְנוּhish/tag/ga/NUwe were madלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMfor Godוְאִם־הִשְׂכַּלְנוּve/IM-his/kal/NUand if we were sensibleהִשְׂכַּלְנוּhis/kal/NUwe were sensibleלָכֶם׃la/KHEMfor you

    For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

14. 14

    כִּיkiforאַהֲבַתa/ha/VATthe love ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahתְּצִיקֵנוּte/tsi/ke/NUpresses usכִּיkibecauseכָזֹאתkha/ZOTlike thisשָׁפַטְנוּsha/fat/NUwe judgedכִּיkithatאִם־אֶחָדim-e/CHADif oneמֵתmetdiedבְּעַדbe/ADforכֻּלָּםkul/LAMallאָזazthenכֻּלָּםkul/LAMallמֵתִים׃me/TIMdead

    For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

15. 15

    וּבְעַדu/ve/ADand forכֻּלָּםkul/LAMallמֵתmethe diedלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatלֹא־יִחְיוּlo-yich/YUwould not liveהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMthe livingעוֹדodanymoreלְנַפְשָׁםle/naf/SHAMfor themselvesכִּיkibutאִם־לַאֲשֶׁרim-la/a/SHERrather for the one whoמֵתmetdiedבַּעֲדָםba/a/DAMfor themוְקָם׃ve/KAMand rose

    And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

16. 16

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom now onאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweלֹא־נֵדַעlo-ne/DAdo not knowאִישׁisha manלְפִיle/FIaccording toהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshוְגַםve/GAMand evenאִם־יָדַעְנוּim-ya/DA/nuif we have knownאֶת־הַמָּשִׁיחַet-Ham/ma/SHI/achthe Messiahלְפִיle/FIaccording toהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom now onלֹא־נֵדָעֵהוּlo-ne/da/e/HUwe do not know himעוֹד׃odanymore

    Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

17. 17

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאִם־אִישׁim-ishif a manבַמָּשִׁיחַVam/ma/SHI/achin the Messiahבְּרִיאָהbe/ri/Aa creationחֲדָשָׁהcha/da/SHAnewהוּאhuhe isהָרִאשֹׁנוֹתha/ri/sho/NOTthe former thingsעָבָרוּa/VA/ruhave passedהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהַכֹּלhak/KOLall thingsנַעֲשׂוּna/a/SUhave becomeחֲדָשׁוֹת׃cha/da/SHOTnew

    Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18. 18

    וְהַכֹּלve/hak/KOLand allמֵאֵתme/ETis fromהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodהַמְרַצֶּהham/rats/TSEwho reconciledאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himselfעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahוַיִּתֶּן־לָנוּvay/YIT/ten-LA/nuand gave usאֶת־שֵׁרוּתet-she/RUTthe service ofהִתְרַצּוֹת׃hit/rats/TSOTreconciliation

    And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19. 19

    כִּיkithatאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהָיָהha/YAwasבַמָּשִׁיחַVam/ma/SHI/achin the Messiahמְרַצֶּהme/rats/TSEreconcilingאֶת־הָעוֹלָםet-ha/o/LAMthe worldאֵלָיוe/LAYVto Himselfוְלֹאve/LOnotחֹשֵׁבcho/SHEVcountingלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֶת־פִּשְׁעֵיהֶםet-pish/e/HEMtheir transgressionsוַיַּפְקֵדvay/yaf/KEDand entrustedאִתָּנוּit/TA/nuwith usאֶת־דְּבַרet-de/VARthe word ofהִתְרַצּוֹת׃hit/rats/TSOTreconciliation

    To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20. 20

    וּבְכֵןu/ve/KHENand soמְלִיצֵיme/li/TSEenvoys ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodמְבַקֵּשׁme/vak/KESHasksמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youעַל־יָדֵינוּal-ya/DE/nuby usנְבַקֵּשׁne/vak/KESHwe askמִכֶּםmik/KEMyouתַּחַתTA/chatinstead ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahהִתְרַצּוּhit/rats/TSUbe reconciledאֶל־הָאֱלֹהִים׃el-ha/e/lo/HIMto God

    Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21. 21

    כִּיkibecauseאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthe one whoלֹא־יָדַעlo-ya/DAknew noחַטָּאתchat/TATa sinאֹתוֹo/TOhimעָשָׂהa/SAHe madeלְחַטָּאתle/chat/TATas sinבַּעֲדֵנוּba/a/DE/nufor usלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatנִהְיֶה־בּוֹnih/YE-bowe might become in himאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweלְצִדְקַתle/tsid/KATthe righteousness ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
