   Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:

   Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

   Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

   Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

   כִּיkiforכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיִרְבּוּyir/BUincreaseעִנּוּיֵיin/nu/YEthe sufferings ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe MessiahבָּנוּBA/nuin usכֵּןkensoתִּרְבֶּהtir/BEincreasesגַם־נֶחָמָתֵנוּgam-ne/cha/ma/te/NUalso our comfortעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

   For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

   וְאִםve/IMand ifצַרtsarwe are distressedלָנוּLA/nuto usבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURfor the sake ofנֶחָמַתְכֶםne/cha/mat/KHEMyour comfortוִישׁוּעַתְכֶםvi/shu/at/KHEMand your salvationהַפֹּעֶלֶתhap/po/E/letthat worksבִּסְבֹלbis/VOLin the enduring ofאֶת־הָעִנּוּיִיםet-ha/in/nu/YIMsufferingsהָהֵםha/HEMthoseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichגַּם־אֲנַחְנוּgam-a/NACH/nuwe alsoסֹבְלִיםsov/LIMsufferוְאִםve/IMand ifמְנֻחָמִיםme/nu/cha/MIMare comfortedאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURfor the sake ofנֶחָמַתְכֶםne/cha/mat/KHEMyour comfortוִישׁוּעַתְכֶם׃vi/shu/at/KHEMand your salvation

   And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

   וְתִקְוָתֵנוּve/tik/va/TE/nuand our hopeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMabout youנְכוֹנָהne/kho/NAis sureוְיָדַעְנוּve/ya/DA/nuand we knowכִּיkithatכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasחֵלֶקCHE/leksharersלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבָּעִנּוּיִיםba/in/nu/YIMin the sufferingsכֵּןkensoיִהְיֶהyih/YEwill beלָכֶםla/KHEMto youחֵלֶקCHE/leksharersגַּם־בַּנֶּחָמָה׃gam-ban/ne/cha/MAalso in the comfort

   And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

   כִּיkiforלֹא־נְכַחֵדlo-ne/kha/CHEDwe will not hideמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersאֶת־צָרָתֵנוּet-tsa/ra/te/NUour troubleאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichמְצָאַתְנוּme/tsa/AT/nufound usבְּאַסְיָאbe/As/YAin Asiaכִּיkithatכָּבְדָהka/ve/DAit was heavyעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuon usלִמְאֹדlim/ODexceedinglyמִכֹּחֵנוּmik/ko/che/NUbeyond our strengthעַדaduntilכִּי־נוֹאַשְׁנוּki-no/ash/NUthat we despairedמֵחַיֵּינוּ׃me/chay/YE/nuof life

   For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

   אֲבָלa/VALbutהָיָהha/YAhadלָנוּLA/nufor ourselvesמִשְׁפַּטmish/PATthe sentence ofהַמָּוֶתham/MA/vetdeathבְּקִרְבֵּנוּbe/kir/BE/nuwithin usלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatאֲשֶׁר־לֹאa/SHER-lothat notנִבְטַחniv/TACHtrustבְּנַפְשֵׁנוּbe/naf/SHE/nuin our soulsכִּיkibutאִם־בֵּאלֹהִיםim-be/lo/HIMrather in Godהַמֵּקִיםham/me/KIMwho raisesאֶת־הַמֵּתִים׃et-ham/me/TIMthe dead

   But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהִצִּילָנוּhits/tsi/LA/nuHe delivered usמִמָּוֶתmim/MA/vetfrom deathגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatכָּזֶהka/ZEsuchוּמַצִּילu/mats/TSILand deliversאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whomבּוֹboin Himבָטַחְנוּva/tach/NUwe trustedכִּיkithatעוֹדodyetיַצִּילֵנוּ׃yats/tsi/LE/nuHe will deliver us

    Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

    וְגַם־אַתֶּםve/GAM-at/TEMand you alsoעֹזְרִיםoz/RIMhelpersבִּתְפִלַּתְכֶםbit/fil/lat/KHEMby your prayerבַּעֲדֵנוּba/a/DE/nufor usלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיוֹדוּyo/DUmay give thanksרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyבַּעֲבוּרֵנוּba/a/vu/re/NUfor usעַל־הַמַּתָּנָהal-ham/mat/ta/NAfor the giftאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנִתְּנָהnit/te/NAwas givenלָנוּLA/nufor usעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

    Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

    כִּיkiforזֹאתzotthisהִיאhiisתְּהִלָּתֵנוּte/hil/la/te/NUour boastעֵדוּתe/DUTthe testimony ofלִבֵּנוּlib/BE/nuour heartכִּיkithatבְּתׇם־לֵבָבbe/TOM-le/VAVwith integrity of heartוּבְיֹשֶׁרu/ve/YO/sherand in uprightnessאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלֹאlonotבְחׇכְמַתve/chokh/MATwith wisdomהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshכִּיkibutאִם־בְּחֶסֶדim-be/CHE/sedrather by the grace ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהִתְהַלַּכְנוּhit/hal/LAKH/nuwe have walkedבָעוֹלָםva/o/LAMin the worldוְאַףve/AFand evenכִּי־אֲלֵיכֶם׃ki-a/le/KHEMfor toward you

    For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

    כִּיkiforלֹאlononeנִכְתֹּבnikh/TOVwe writeאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherכִּיkibutאִם־אֲשֶׁרim-a/SHERrather whatאַתֶּםat/TEMyouקֹרְאִיםkor/IMreadאוֹoorמַכִּירִיםmak/ki/RIMdiscernוַאֲקַוֶּהva/a/kav/VEand I hopeכִּיkithatתַכִּירוּtak/KI/ruyou discernעַד־תַּכְלִית׃ad-takh/LITto the end

    For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;

14. 14

    כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּם־הִכַּרְתֶּםgam-hik/kar/TEMalso you recognizedאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusלְמִקְצָתle/mik/TSATin partכִּיkithatאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areתְּהִלַּתְכֶםte/hil/lat/KHEMyour boastכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּם־אַתֶּםgam-at/TEMyou alsoתְּהִלָּתֵנוּte/hil/la/te/NUare our boastבְּיוֹםbe/YOMon the day ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.

    וּבַבִּטָּחוֹןu/vab/bit/ta/CHONand in confidenceהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisחָפַצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiI wishedלָבוֹאla/VOto comeאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youרִאשֹׁנָהri/sho/NAfirstלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּהְיֶהtih/YEwill beלָכֶםla/KHEMyouטוֹבָהto/VAa goodשֵׁנִית׃she/NITa second

    And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit;

16. 16

    לַעֲבֹרla/a/VORto passבְּתוֹכְכֶםbe/tokh/KHEMamong youאֶל־מַקְדּוֹנְיָאel-Mak/don/YAinto Macedoniaוְלָשׁוּבve/la/SHUVand to returnמִמַּקְדּוֹנְיָאmim/Mak/don/YAout of Macedoniaאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youתְּשַׁלְּחוּנִיte/shal/le/chu/NIwould send meאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the land ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudaea

    And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judæa.

17. 17

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenחָפַצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiI wantedכָזֹאתkha/ZOTlike thisהַבְּפַחֲזוּתhab/be/fa/cha/ZUTin lightnessעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tiI didאוֹoorאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatאֲנִיa/NIIיוֹעֵץyo/ETScounselהַאִםha/IMis it thatלְפִיle/FIaccording toהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshאִיעָץi/ATSI counselלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִהְיֶהyih/YEwill beעִמָּדִיim/ma/DIwith meהֵןhenyesהֵןhenyesוְלֹאve/LOand noלֹא׃lono

    When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?

18. 18

    אָכֵןa/KHENsurelyנֶאֱמָןne/e/MANfaithfulהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodכִּי־דְבָרֵנוּki-de/va/re/NUthat our wordאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMtoward youלֹאlonotהָיָהha/YAwasהֵןhenyesוָלֹא׃va/LOand no

    But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.

19. 19

    כִּיkiforבֶן־הָאֱלֹהִיםven-Ha/e/lo/HIMthe Son of GodיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֻגַּדhug/GADwas proclaimedבְתוֹכְכֶםve/tokh/KHEMamong youעַל־יָדֵינוּal-ya/DE/nuby usעַל־יָדִיal-ya/DIby meוְעַל־יְדֵיve/AL-ye/DEand byסִלְוָנוֹסSil/va/NOSSilvanusוְטִימוֹתִיּוֹסve/Ti/mo/tiy/YOSand Timotheusהוּאhuheלֹאlonotהָיָהha/YAwasהֵןhenyesוָלֹאva/LOand noכִּי־הָיָהki-ha/YAbut wasבוֹvoin himהֵן׃henyes

    For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.

20. 20

    כִּיkiforכׇּל־הַבְטָחוֹתkol-hav/ta/CHOTall the promises ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבּוֹboin himהֵןhenyesוּבוֹu/VOand in himאָמֵןa/MENamenלִכְבוֹדlikh/VODto the glory ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעַל־יָדֵינוּ׃al-ya/DE/nuthrough us

    For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

21. 21

    וְהָאֱלֹהִיםve/ha/e/lo/HIMand GodהוּאhuHe isהַמְכוֹנֵןHam/kho/NENthe One who establishesאוֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusאִתְּכֶםit/te/KHEMwith youבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiahוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whoמְשָׁחָנוּ׃me/sha/cha/NUanointed us

    Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

22. 22

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoגַּם־חֲתָמָנוּgam-cha/ta/ma/NUhas also sealed usוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveאֶת־עֵרְבוֹןet-er/VONthe pledge ofהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritבְּלִבֵּנוּ׃be/lib/BE/nuin our hearts

    Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

23. 23

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iאֶת־אֱלֹהִיםet-e/lo/HIMGodאֶקְרָאek/RAcallלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beעֵדeda witnessעַל־נַפְשִׁיal-naf/SHIabout myselfכִּיkithatלְמַעַןle/MA/antoחֲשֹׂךְcha/SOKHspareאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouלֹא־בָאתִיlo-VA/tiI did not comeעַד־הֵנָּהad-HEN/nauntil nowלְקוֹרִנְתּוֹס׃le/Ko/rin/TOSto Corinth

    Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.

24. 24

    לֹאlonotכִּיkiforמֹשְׁלִיםmosh/LIMrulingאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweבֶּאֱמוּנַתְכֶםbe/e/mu/nat/KHEMover your faithכִּיkibutאִםimratherעֹזְרִיםoz/RIMhelpersלְשִׂמְחַתְכֶםle/sim/chat/KHEMof your joyכִּיkiforעֲמַדְתֶּםa/mad/TEMyou standבָּאֱמוּנָה׃ba/e/mu/NAby faith

    Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
