כֹּלallאֲשֶׁר־עֹלwhose-yokeהָעַבְדוּתthe-bondageעֲלֵיהֶםupon-themיִהְיוּshall-beאֲדֹנֵיהֶםtheir-mastersבְּעֵינֵיהֶםin-their-eyesרְאוּיִםworthyלְכׇל־כָּבוֹדof-all-honorלְמַעַןin-order-thatאֲשֶׁרwhichלֹא־יְחֻלַּלbe-not-blasphemedשֵׁםthe-name-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godוְהַלֶּקַח׃and-his-doctrine
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

וְאֹתָםand-thoseשֶׁאֲדֹנֵיהֶםthat-master-theirמַאֲמִינִיםbelievingאַל־יֵקַלּוּlet-them-not-despiseבְעֵינֵיהֶםthemמִפְּנֵיbecause-ofשֶׁהֵםthat-theyאַחִיםbrothersכִּיbecauseאִם־יַעַבְדוּbut-do-serviceאֹתָםthemיוֹתֵרthe-moreמִפְּנֵיbecause-ofשֶׁמַּאֲמִינִיםthat-believingוַאֲהוּבִיםand-beloved(pl)הֵםtheyהַמְקַבְּלִיםpartakers-ofאֶת־הַטּוֹבָהthe-benefitאֶת־זֹאתthese-thingsתְּלַמֵּדteachוּתְצַוֶּה׃and-exhort
And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

הָאִישׁthe-manאֲשֶׁרwhichיוֹרֶהteachתּוֹרָהdoctrineאַחֶרֶתotherוְלֹאand-notיַעֲמֹדconsentבְּדִבְרֵיwith-the-words-ofאֲדֹנֵינוּour-LordיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahהַבְּרִיאִיםwholesomeוּבְלֶקַחand-to-the-doctrine-ofהַחֲסִידוּת׃godliness
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

נַפְשׁוֹhis-soulעֻפְּלָהis-lifted-upוְלֹאand-notיָדַעknowethמְאוּמָהnothingכִּיbutאִם־חֹלֶהdotingהוּאheבִּשְׁאֵלוֹתabout-questionsוְתוֹכְחוֹתand-strifes-ofמִלִּיםwordsהַמּוֹלִידוֹתwhereof-comethקִנְאָהjealousyוּמְרִיבָהand-contentionוְגִדּוּפִיםand-blasphemiesוַחֲשָׁדand-surmisingsרָע׃evil
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

וִכּוּחֵיdisputings-ofהֶבֶלvanityמֵאֲנָשִׁיםof-menנִשְׁחֲתֵיcorrupt-ofדַעַתmindוּמְחֻסְּרֵיand-destitute-ofאֱמֶתthe-truthהַשָׂמִיםwho-supposeאֶת־הַחֲסִידוּתgodlinessלִדְבַרforבָּצַעgainסוּרwithdrawמֵאֲנָשִׁיםfrom-menכָּאֵלֶּה׃such
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

וְאׇמְנָםand-indeedבֶּצַעgainגָּדוֹלgreatהִיאisהַחֲסִידוּתgodlinessעִם־לֵבwith-heartשָׂמֵחַhappyבְּחֶלְקוֹ׃in-his-part
But godliness with contentment is great gain.

כִּיbecauseבָאנוּwe-cameלָעוֹלָםinto-the-worldוְאֵיןand-has-noבְּיָדֵינוּin-our-handsמְאוּמָהanythingוְיָדוּעַand-knownשֶׁאַףthat-yeaנֵצֵאwe-shall-carry-outמִמֶּנּוּof-itוְאֵיןand-has-noבְּיָדֵינוּin-our-handsמְאוּמָה׃anything
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

וְעַל־כֵּןand-thereforeאִםifמָזוֹןnourishmentוּכְסוּתand-as-clothingלָנוּusנִסְתַּפְּקָהlet-us-be-contentבָּהֶם׃in-them
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
- 9
אֲבָלbutהַמְבַקְשִׁיםthe-ones-seekingלְהַעֲשִׁירto-be-richיָבֹאוּfallלִידֵיintoנִסָּיוֹןtemptationוְיִפְּלוּand-they-shall-fallבְמוֹקְשִׁיםin-snaresוּבְרֹבand-into-manyתַּאֲוֹתlustsסְכָלוֹתfoolishוּמַשְׁחִיתוֹתand-hurtfulהַמַּשְׁקִיעוֹתwhich-drownאֶת־הָאָדָםmenבַּשַּׁחַתin-destructionוּבָאֲבַדּוֹן׃and-perdition
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

כִּיbecauseשֹׁרֶשׁthe-root-ofכׇּל־הָרָעוֹתall-evilאַהֲבַתthe-love-ofהַכָּסֶףmoneyוְיֵשׁand-there-areלְהוּטִיםwhich-coveted-afterאַחֲרָיוitאֲשֶׁרwhichסָרוּhave-erredמִן־הָאֱמוּנָהfrom-the-faithוַיַּעֲצִיבוּand-piercedאֶת־נַפְשָׁםthemselvesבְּמַכְאֹבִיםwith-sorrowsרַבִּים׃many
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

וְאַתָּהbut-youאִישׁmanהָאֱלֹהִיםof-Godבְּרַח־לְךָfleeמֵאֵלֶּהthese-thingsוּרְדֹףand-pursueצְדָקָהrighteousnessוַחֲסִידוּתand-godlinessוֶאֱמוּנָהand-faithוְאַהֲבָהand-loveוְסַבְלָנוּתand-patienceוַעֲנָוָה׃and-meekness
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

הִלָּחֵםfightהַמִּלְחָמָהthe-battleהַטּוֹבָהthe-goodמִלְחֶמֶתfight-ofהָאֱמוּנָהfaithוֶאֱחֹזand-lay-hold-onאֶת־חַיֵּיthe-life-ofהָעוֹלָמִיםeternalאֲשֶׁרwhereuntoנִקְרֵאתָyou-are-calledלָהֶםto-themוְהוֹדֵיתָand-hast-professedהוֹדָאָהa-professionיָפָהgoodבִּפְנֵיbeforeעֵדִיםwitnessesרַבִּים׃many
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

הִנְנִיbehold-IמְצַוְּךָI-give-you-chargeנֶגֶדbeforeהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godהַמְחַיֶּהwho-quickenethאֶת־כֹּלall-thingsוְנֶגֶדand-beforeהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-MessiahיֵשׁוּעַJesusאֲשֶׁרwhichהֵעִידwitnessedהַהוֹדָאָהa-confessionהַיָּפָהgoodלִפְנֵיbeforeפָּנְטִיּוֹסPontiusפִּילָטוֹס׃Pilate
I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

אֲשֶׁרwhichתִּשְׁמֹרyou-keepאֶת־הַמִּצְוָהthe-commandmentבְּאֵין־שֶׁמֶץwithout-spotוָדֹפִיunrebukeableעַד־הוֹפָעַתuntil-the-appearing-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-MessiahיֵשׁוּעַJesusאֲדֹנֵינוּ׃our-Lord
That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

אֲשֶׁרwhichיַרְאֶנָּהshall-shewבְעִתָּהּin-his-timesהַמְבֹרָךְthe-blessedוְהַשַּׁלִּיטand-only-Potentateלְבַדּוֹaloneמֶלֶךְthe-king-ofהַמְּלָכִיםthe-kingsוַאֲדֹנֵיand-the lord ofהָאֲדֹנִים׃the-lords
Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

אֲשֶׁרwhichהוּאheלְבַדּוֹaloneחַיlivingוְקַיָּםand-enduringוְהוּאand-heשֹׁכֵןdwelling-inאוֹרthe-lightנִשְׂגָּבunapproachableוְאִישׁand-the-man-ofלֹאnotרָאָהוּsaw-Himוְלֹאand-notיוּכַלcanלִרְאוֹתוֹto-see-himוְלוֹand-to-himהַכָּבוֹדbe-honorוּגְבוּרַתand-power-ofעוֹלָמִיםeverlastingאָמֵן׃amen
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

אֶת־עֲשִׁירֵיrich ones ofהָעוֹלָםthe-worldהַזֶּהthisתְּצַוֶּהchargeשֶׁלּאthat-notיָרוּםbe-highmindedלְבָבָםtheir-heartsוְלֹא־יִבְטְחוּnor-trustבָּעֹשֶׂרin-richesהַבּוֹגֵדuncertainכִּיbecauseאִם־בֵּאלֹהִיםif-in-Godחַיִּיםlivingהַמַּסְפִּיקthe-sufficientלָנוּusדַּיrichlyוְהוֹתֵרall-thingsלִשְׂבֹּעַ׃to-enjoy
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

וְיִגְמְלוּthat-they-doטוֹבgoodוְיַעְשִׁירוּthat-they-be-richבְּמַעֲשִׂיםin-good-worksטוֹבִיםgoodלָתֵתto-giveמֵהוֹנָםready-to-distributeוְלַעֲזֹרwilling-to-communicateלְזוּלָתָם׃to-others
That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

וְיַאַצְרוּlaying-up-in-storeלָהֶםfor-themselvesאוֹצָרa-storeלִיסוֹדfor-a-foundationטוֹבgoodלֶעָתִידto-futureלָבֹאto-come-forthלְמַעַןin-order-thatיַשִׂיגוּthey-may-lay-hold-onאֶת־חַיֵּיthe-life-ofהָאֱמֶת׃eternal
Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

אַתָּהyouטִימוֹתִיּוֹסTimothyשְׁמֹרkeepאֶת־הַפִּקָּדוֹןthat-committed-to-your-trustוְהִתְרַחֵקavoidingמִדִּבְרֵיthe-words-ofהֶבֶלvanityהַפְּסוּלִיםprofaneוּמִן־וִכּוּחֵיand-oppositions-ofהַמַּדָּעscienceהַנִּקְרָאso-calledכֵןthusבְּטָעוּת׃falsely
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

אֲשֶׁרwhichיֵשׁthereמִתְפָּאֲרִיםprofessingבּוֹwhichוַיִּתְעוּhave-erredמִן־הָאֱמוּנָהfrom-the-faithהַחֶסֶדgraceעִמָּךְwith-youאָמֵן׃amen
Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
