   אַל־תִּגְעַרal-tig/ARdo not rebukeבְּזָקֵןbe/za/KENan elderכִּיkibutאִם־בַּקֵּשׁim-bak/KESHrather entreatמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuhimכְּאָבke/AVas a fatherוְאֶת־הַצְּעִירִיםve/ET-hats/tse/i/RIMand the young menכְּאַחִים׃ke/a/CHIMas brothers

   Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;

2. 2

   אֶת־הַזְּקֵנוֹתet-haz/ze/ke/NOTthe older womenכְּאִמּוֹתke/im/MOTas mothersוְאֶת־הַצְּעִירוֹתve/ET-hats/tse/i/ROTand the young womenכַּאֲחָיוֹתka/a/cha/YOTas sistersבְּכׇל־טׇהֳרָה׃be/KHOL-to/ho/RAin all purity

   The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

   כַּבֵּדkab/BEDhonorאֶת־הָאַלְמָנוֹתet-ha/al/ma/NOTwidowsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoבֶּאֱמֶתbe/e/METtrulyאַלְמָנוֹתal/ma/NOTwidowsהֵנָּה׃HEN/naare

   Honour widows that are widows indeed.

4. 4

   וְאִםve/IMbut ifיֵשׁyeshhaveלְאַלְמָנָהle/al/ma/NAto a widowבָּנִיםba/NIMchildrenאוֹoorנְכָדִיםne/kha/DIMgrandchildrenיִלְמְדוּyil/me/DUlet them learnבָרִאשׁוֹנָהva/ri/sho/NAfirstלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doחֶסֶדCHE/sedkindnessעִם־בֵּיתָםim-be/TAMwith their houseוּלְשַׁלֵּםu/le/shal/LEMand to repayגְּמוּלge/MULrecompenseלְהוֹרֵיהֶםle/ho/re/HEMto their parentsכִּיkiforזֶהzethisטוֹבtovgoodוְרָצוּיve/ra/TSUYand acceptableלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

   וְהָאַלְמָנָהve/ha/al/ma/NAand the widowבֶאֱמֶתve/e/METtrulyוְשֹׁמֵמָהve/sho/me/MAdesolateבֹּטַחַתbo/TA/chattrustsבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMin Godוְשֹׁקֶדֶתve/sho/KE/detand persistsעַל־הַתְּחִנּוֹתal-hat/te/chin/NOTin supplicationsוְהַתְּפִלּוֹתve/hat/te/fil/LOTand prayersלַיְלָהLAY/lanightוְיוֹמָם׃ve/yo/MAMand day

   Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

6. 6

   אַךְakhbutהַחַיָּהha/chay/YAthe one who livesבְּתַעֲנוּגוֹתbe/ta/a/nu/GOTin pleasuresמֵתָהME/tadeadהִיאhishe isבְּחַיֶּיהָ׃be/chay/YE/hain her life

   But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

7. 7

   וְאֶת־אֵלֶּהve/ET-EL/leand theseתְּצַוֶּהte/tsav/VEcommandלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתִּהְיֶינָהtih/YE/nathey may beנְקִיּוֹת׃ne/kiy/YOTblameless

   And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

8. 8

   וְאִםve/IMbut ifאִישׁishanyלֹאlonotיְכַלְכֵּלye/khal/KELprovides forאֶת־קְרוֹבָיוet-ke/ro/VAYVhis relativesוְיוֹתֵרve/yo/TERand moreאֶת־בְּנֵיet-be/NEthe sons ofבֵיתוֹve/TOhis houseכִּחֵשׁki/CHESHhe has deniedבָּאֱמוּנָהba/e/mu/NAthe faithוְרַעve/RAand worseהוּאhuhe isמֵאֲשֶׁרme/a/SHERthan one whoאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuis notמַאֲמִין׃ma/a/MINa believer

   But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

9. 9

   אַל־תִּמָּנֶהal-tim/ma/NElet not be enrolledאַלְמָנָהal/ma/NAa widowזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIexceptבַּת־שִׁשִּׁיםbat-shish/SHIMa daughter of sixtyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוָמַעְלָהva/MA/laand aboveאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasאֵשֶׁתE/shetthe wife ofאִישׁisha manאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

   Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,

    וְשֵׁםve/SHEMand a nameטוֹבtovgoodלָהּlato herבְּמַעֲשִׂיםbe/ma/a/SIMin worksטוֹבִיםto/VIMgoodאִם־גִּדְּלָהim-gid/de/LAif she raisedבָנִיםva/NIMchildrenאִם־הֵלִינָהim-he/li/NAif she lodgedגֵּרִיםge/RIMstrangersאִם־רָחֲצָהim-ra/cha/TSAif she washedרַגְלֵיrag/LEthe feet ofקְדוֹשִׁיםke/do/SHIMsaintsאִם־תָּמְכָהim-ta/me/KHAif she supportedבַּעֲשׁוּקִיםba/a/shu/KIMthe oppressedאִם־רָדְפָהim-ra/de/FAif she pursuedכׇּל־מַעֲשֶׂהkol-ma/a/SEevery workטוֹב׃tovgood

    Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

11. 11

    וְאֶת־הָאַלְמָנוֹתve/ET-ha/al/ma/NOTand the widowsהַצְּעִירוֹתhats/tse/i/ROTyoungמְאַסme/ASrejectכִּיkiforכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenהֵחֵלּוּhe/CHEL/lubeganלִבְעֹטliv/OTto kickבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiahחֲפֵצוֹתcha/fe/TSOTthey wantהֵןhentheyלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beלְאִישׁ׃le/ISHto a man

    But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;

12. 12

    וְדִיןve/DINand judgmentעֲלֵיהֶןa/le/HENupon themכִּיkibecauseזָנְחוּza/ne/CHUthey have cast offאֶת־אֱמוּנָתָןet-e/mu/na/TANtheir faithהָרִאשֹׁנָה׃ha/ri/sho/NAthe first

    Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

13. 13

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoלָמְדוּla/me/DUthey learnלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beעֲצֵלוֹתa/tse/LOTidleמְשׁוֹטְטוֹתme/shot/TOTwandering aboutמִבַּיִתmib/BA/yitfrom houseלְבָיִתle/VA/yitto houseוְלֹאve/LOand notעֲצֵלוֹתa/tse/LOTidleלְבַדle/VADonlyכִּיkibutאִם־גַּםim-gamrather alsoהוֹלְכוֹתhol/KHOTgoing aboutרָכִילra/KHILslanderוּמִתְגַּלְּעוֹתu/mit/gal/le/OTand meddlersמְדַבְּרוֹתme/dab/be/ROTspeakingאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatלֹאlonotנָאוֶה׃na/VEis fitting

    And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

14. 14

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחָפֵץcha/FETSI wantאֲנִיa/NIIכִּיkithatהַצְּעִירוֹתhats/tse/i/ROTyoungתִּהְיֶינָהtih/YE/nabeלְאִישׁle/ISHto a husbandתֵּלַדְנָהte/lad/NAbearבָנִיםva/NIMchildrenתִּמְשֹׁלְנָהtim/shol/NAruleבַּבַּיִתbab/BA/yitthe houseוְלֹאve/LOand notתִתֵּנָּהtit/ten/NAgiveתֹּאֲנָהto/a/NAan occasionלַצָּרlats/TSARto the adversaryלְחָרֵף׃le/cha/REFto reproach

    I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

15. 15

    כִּיkiforכְבָרkhe/VARalreadyסָרוּSA/ruhave turned asideמֵהֶןme/HENof themאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַשָּׂטָן׃Has/sa/TANSatan

    For some are already turned aside after Satan.

16. 16

    וְאִםve/IMand ifיֵשׁyeshhaveאַלְמָנוֹתal/ma/NOTwidowsלְמַאֲמִיןle/ma/a/MINa believerאוֹoorלְמַאֲמִינָהle/ma/a/mi/NAa believing womanיְכַלְכְּלֵןye/khal/ke/LENlet her support themוְלֹאve/LOand notתִּהְיֶינָהtih/YE/nalet beלְמַשָּׂאle/mas/SAa burdenעַל־הַקְּהִלָּהal-hak/ke/hil/LAon the churchלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתְּכַלְכֵּלte/khal/KELit may supportאֶת־הָאַלְמָנוֹתet-ha/al/ma/NOTwidowsבֶּאֱמֶת׃be/e/METtruly

    If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

17. 17

    הַזְּקֵנִיםhaz/ze/ke/NIMthe eldersהַמֹּשְׁלִיםham/mosh/LIMwho ruleהֵיטֵבhe/TEVwellיֵחָשְׁבוּye/cha/she/VUlet be countedרְאוּיִיםre/u/YIMworthyלְמִשְׁנֵהle/mish/NEof doubleכָבוֹדkha/VODhonorוְיוֹתֵרve/yo/TERand moreהָעֲמֵלִיםha/a/me/LIMthose who laborבַּדָּבָרbad/da/VARin the wordוּבַלֶּקַח׃u/val/LE/kachand the teaching

    Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

18. 18

    כִּי־הַכָּתוּבki-hak/ka/TUVfor the scriptureאֹמֵרo/MERsaysלֹא־תַחְסֹםlo-tach/SOMyou shall not muzzleשׁוֹרshoran oxבְּדִישׁוֹbe/di/SHOwhen it threshesוְנֶאֱמַרve/ne/e/MARand it is saidרָאוּיra/UYworthyהַפּוֹעֵלhap/po/ELthe workerלִשְׂכָרוֹ׃lis/kha/ROof his wages

    For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

19. 19

    עַל־זָקֵןal-za/KENagainst an elderאַל־תְּקַבֵּלal-te/kab/BELdo not receiveשִׂטְנָהsit/NAan accusationבִּלְתִּיbil/TIexceptאִם־עַל־פִּיim-al-piif at the mouth ofשְׁנַיִםshe/NA/yimtwoאוֹoorשְׁלֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAthreeעֵדִים׃e/DIMwitnesses

    Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

20. 20

    אֶת־הַחֹטְאִיםet-ha/chot/IMthose who sinתּוֹכִיחַto/KHI/achrebukeבִּפְנֵיbif/NEbeforeכֹלkholallלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִירְאוּyi/re/Umay fearגַּם־הָאֲחֵרִים׃gam-ha/a/che/RIMthe others also

    Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

21. 21

    מֵעִידme/IDtestifyאֲנִיa/NIIבְּךָbe/KHAto youלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְהָאָדוֹןve/ha/a/DONand the LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahוְהַמַּלְאָכִיםve/ham/mal/a/KHIMand the angelsהַבְּחִירִיםhab/be/chi/RIMthe electאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתִּשְׁמֹרtish/MORyou keepאֶת־אֵלֶּהet-EL/lethese thingsוְלֹאve/LOand notתַקְדִּיםtak/DIMfavoringאִישׁishoneלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/hubefore his neighborוְלֹאve/LOand notתַעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEdoingדָבָרda/VARanythingבְּמַשֹּׂאbe/mas/SOby lifting ofפָנִים׃fa/NIMfaces

    I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

22. 22

    אַל־תִּסְמֹךְal-tis/MOKHdo not layיָדֶיךָya/DE/khayour handsמַהֵרma/HERquicklyעַל־אִישׁal-ishon a manוְאַל־תְּהִיve/AL-te/HIand be notחָבֵרcha/VERa companionלְחַטֹּאתle/chat/TOTin sins ofאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMothersשְׁמֹרshe/MORkeepאֶת־נַפְשְׁךָet-naf/she/KHAyourselfבְּטׇהֳרָה׃be/to/ho/RAin purity

    Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

23. 23

    אַל־תִּשְׁתֶּהal-tish/TEdo not drinkעוֹדodany longerמַיִםMA/yimwaterכִּיkibutאִם־קַחim-kachrather takeלְךָle/KHAfor youמְעַטme/ATa littleיַיִןYA/yinwineלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofמֵעֶיךָme/E/khayour stomachוְחֳלָיֶיךָve/cho/la/ye/KHAand your weaknessesהָרַבִּים׃ha/rab/BIMthe many

    Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

24. 24

    יֵשׁyeshthere areאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatחַטֹּאתֵיהֶםchat/to/te/HEMtheir sinsגְּלוּיוֹתge/lu/YOTare openמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHbeforehandוּמַקְדִּימוֹתu/mak/di/MOTand go beforeלַמִּשְׁפָּטlam/mish/PATto the judgmentוְיֵשׁve/YESHand there areאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּבֹאנָהta/VO/nawill comeאַחֲרֵיהֶם׃a/cha/re/HEMafter them

    Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

25. 25

    וְכָכָהve/KHA/khaand soגַּם־הַמַּעֲשִׂיםgam-ham/ma/a/SIMthe works alsoהַטּוֹבִיםhat/to/VIMthe goodגְּלוּיִםge/lu/YIMare openמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHbeforehandוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand those thatלֹא־כֵןlo-khenare not soלֹאlonotיוּכְלוּyukh/LUcanלְהִסָּתֵר׃le/his/sa/TERbe hid

    Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
