   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeמַזְהִירmaz/HIRurgeאֲנִיa/NIIכִּיkithatרִאשׁוֹנָהri/sho/NAfirstלַכֹּלlak/KOLof allיֵעָשׂוּye/a/SUlet be doneתְּחִנּוֹתte/chin/NOTsupplicationsתְּפִלּוֹתte/fil/LOTprayersבַּקָּשׁוֹתbak/ka/SHOTrequestsוְתוֹדוֹתve/to/DOTand thanksבְּעַדbe/ADforכׇּל־אָדָם׃kol-a/DAMall men

   I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

   בְּעַדbe/ADforמְלָכִיםme/la/KHIMkingsוּבְעַדu/ve/ADand forכׇּל־הַשַּׁלִּיטִיםkol-hash/shal/li/TIMall the rulersלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatנִחְיֶהnich/YEwe may liveחַיֵּיchay/YEa life ofשֶׁקֶטSHE/ketquietוְשָׁלוֹםve/sha/LOMand peaceבְּכׇל־חֲסִידוּתbe/KHOL-cha/si/DUTin all godlinessוָיֹשֶׁר׃va/YO/sherand uprightness

   For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

   כִּי־זֶהki-zefor this isטוֹבtovgoodוְרָצוּיve/ra/TSUYand acceptableבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ׃Mo/shi/e/NUour Savior

   For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseחָפֵץcha/FETSdesiresכִּיkithatיִוָּשְׁעוּyiv/va/she/Ube savedכׇּל־בְּנֵיkol-be/NEall the sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenוְיָבֹאוּve/ya/VO/uand to comeלְדַעַתle/DA/atin the knowledge ofהָאֱמֶת׃ha/e/METthe truth

   Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

   כִּיkiforאֶחָדe/CHADoneהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMis Godוְאֶחָדve/e/CHADand oneהַמְּתַוֵּךְham/me/tav/VEKHthe mediatorבֵּיןbenbetweenאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוּבֵיןu/VENandבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMthe manהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

   For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנָתַןna/TANgaveאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹet-naf/SHOhis lifeכֹּפֶרKO/feras a ransomבְּעַדbe/ADforהַכֹּלhak/KOLallלְעֵדוּתle/e/DUTfor a testimonyבְּעִתָּהּ׃be/it/TAin its time

   Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERfor whichלָהּlafor itנִתַּתִּיnit/tat/TII was appointedמַגִּידmag/GIDa proclaimerוְשָׁלִיחַve/sha/LI/achand an apostleאֱמֶתe/METtruthאֲנִיa/NIIמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiahוְלֹאve/LOand notאֲשַׁקֵּרa/shak/KERI lieמוֹרֵהmo/REa teacher ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesבֶּאֱמוּנָהbe/e/mu/NAin faithוּבֶאֱמֶת׃u/ve/e/METand in truth

   Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחָפֵץcha/FETSI wantאֲנִיa/NIIכִּיkithatיִתְפַּלְלוּyit/pal/LUthey prayהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menבְּכׇל־מָקוֹםbe/KHOL-ma/KOMin every placeנֹשְׂאִיםnos/IMlifting upיָדַיִםya/DA/yimhandsקְדֹשׁוֹתke/do/SHOTholyבְּלִיbe/LIwithoutרֹגֶזRO/gezangerוּסְעִפִּים׃u/se/ip/PIMand dispute

   I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

   וְכֵןve/KHENand soגַּםgamalsoהַנָּשִׁיםhan/na/SHIMthe womenתִּתְיַפֶּינָהtit/yap/pe/NAadorn themselvesבְּתִלְבֹּשֶׁתbe/til/BO/shetin clothingצְנוּעָהtse/nu/Amodestבְּבֹשֶׁתbe/VO/shetwith shame ofפָּנִיםpa/NIMfaceוּבִתְבוּנָהu/vit/vu/NAand with understandingלֹאlonotבְּמַחְלְפוֹתbe/mach/le/FOTwith braids ofהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe headאוֹoorבְזָהָבve/za/HAVwith goldאוֹoorבִפְנִינִיםvif/ni/NIMwith pearlsאוֹoorבְּמַלְבּוּשׁbe/mal/BUSHin clothingיָקָר׃ya/KARprecious

   In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10. 10

    כִּיkibutאִם־כַּאֲשֶׁרim-ka/a/SHERrather asנָאוֶהna/VEis fittingלַנָּשִׁיםlan/na/SHIMfor womenהַמּוֹדוֹתham/mo/DOTwho confessבַּחֲסִידוּתba/cha/si/DUTin godlinessבְּמַעֲשִׂיםbe/ma/a/SIMwith worksטוֹבִים׃to/VIMgood

    But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

11. 11

    הָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanתִּלְמַדtil/MADlet learnדּוּמָםdu/MAMin silenceוְתִכָּנַעve/tik/ka/NAand submitsבְּכֹל׃be/KHOLin all

    Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12. 12

    וְלֹאve/LObut notאֶתֵּןet/TENI allowלָאִשָּׁהla/ish/SHAto the womanלְלַמֵּדle/lam/MEDto teachוְלֹאve/LOnorלִמְשֹׁלlim/SHOLto ruleבָּאִישׁba/ISHin the manכִּיkibutאִם־לִהְיוֹתim-lih/YOTrather to beדּוּמָם׃du/MAMin silence

    But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13. 13

    כִּיkiforאָדָםA/DAMAdamנוֹצַרNO/tsarwas formedבָּרִאשׁוֹנָהba/ri/sho/NAfirstוְאַחֲרָיוve/a/cha/RAYVand after himחַוָּה׃Chav/VAEve

    For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14. 14

    וְאָדָםve/A/DAMand Adamלֹאlonotנִפְתָּהnif/TAwas enticedכִּיkibutאִם־הָאִשָּׁהim-ha/ish/SHArather the womanנִפְתְּתָהnif/te/TAwas deceivedוַתְּהִיvat/te/HIand wasבַּפָּשַׁע׃bap/pa/SHAin the transgression

    And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15. 15

    אֲבָלa/VALbutתִּוָּשַׁעtiv/va/SHAshe will be savedבְּלִדְתָּהּbe/lid/TAin her bearingבָּנִיםba/NIMchildrenאִםimifתַּעֲמֹדְנָהta/a/mod/NAthey continueבָּאֱמוּנָהba/e/mu/NAin faithוּבַחֶסֶדu/va/CHE/sedand charityוּבַקְּדֻשָּׁהu/vak/ke/dush/SHAand in holinessעִם־הַתְּבוּנָה׃im-hat/te/vu/NAwith understanding

    Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
