   וְעַל־דְּבַרve/AL-de/VARand concerningהָעִתִּיםha/it/TIMthe timesוְהַזְּמַנִּיםve/haz/ze/man/NIMand the seasonsאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMyou are notחֲסֵרִיםcha/se/RIMlackingכִּיkithatאֶכְתֹּבekh/TOVI writeאֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMto you

   But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2. 2

   כִּיkiforאַתֶּםat/TEMyourselvesיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowהֵיטֵבhe/TEVwellכִּיkithatיוֹם־יְהוָֹהyom-Adonaithe day of the LORDכֵּןkensoיָבוֹאya/VOcomesכַּגַּנָּבkag/gan/NAVlike a thiefבַּלַּיְלָה׃bal/LAY/lain the night

   For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

   כִּיkiforבְאָמְרָםve/a/me/RAMwhen they sayשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceוָבֶטַחva/VE/tachand securityאָזazthenיָבֹאya/VOwill comeעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themשֶׁבֶרSHE/verruinפִּתְאֹםpit/OMsuddenlyכְּחֶבְלֵיke/chev/LElike the pangs ofיוֹלֵדָהyo/le/DAa woman giving birthוְלֹאve/LOand notיִמָּלֵטוּ׃yim/ma/le/TUwill they escape

   For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

   וְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMbut youאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersלֹאlonotבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin darknessאַתֶּםat/TEMareאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיַשִּׂיגyas/SIGwould overtakeאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַהוּאha/HUthatכַּגַּנָּב׃kag/gan/NAVlike a thief

   But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

   אַתֶּםat/TEMyouכֻּלְּכֶםkul/le/KHEMall of youבְּנֵיbe/NEsons ofהָאוֹרha/ORlightוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand sons ofהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayלֹאlonotבְנֵי־הַלַּיְלָהve/NE-hal/LAY/lasons of the nightאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuare weוְלֹאve/LOand notבְּנֵיbe/NEsons ofהַחֹשֶׁךְ׃ha/CHO/shekhdarkness

   Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַל־נִישַׁןal-ni/SHANlet us not sleepכַּאֲחֵרִיםka/a/che/RIMlike othersכִּיkibutאִם־נִשְׁקֹדim-nish/KODrather let us watchוְנִהְיֶהve/nih/YEand let us beנְבוֹנִים׃ne/vo/NIMprudent

   Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

   כִּיkiforהַיְשֵׁנִיםhay/she/NIMthose who sleepיְשֵׁנִיםye/she/NIMsleepingבַּלַּיְלָהbal/LAY/lain the nightוְהַמִּשְׁתַּכְּרִיםve/ham/mish/tak/ke/RIMand those who get drunkמִשְׁתַּכְּרִיםmish/tak/ke/RIMget drunkבַּלָּיְלָה׃bal/LAY/laat night

   For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

   וַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho areמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEof the sons ofהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayנִהְיֶהnih/YEbeנְבוֹנִיםne/vo/NIMprudentלֹבְשִׁיםlov/SHIMputting onאֶת־שִׁרְיוֹןet-shir/YONthe breastplate ofהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithוְהָאַהֲבָהve/ha/a/ha/VAand loveוּלְכוֹבַעu/le/kho/VAand for a helmetאֶת־תִּקְוַתet-tik/VATthe hope ofהַיְשׁוּעָה׃hay/shu/Asalvation

   But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9. 9

   כִּיkibutלֹא־יְעָדָנוּlo-ye/a/da/NUdid not appoint usהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלְחָרוֹןle/cha/RONto wrathכִּיkibutאִם־לְהַשִּׂיגim-le/has/SIGrather to obtainיְשׁוּעָהye/shu/Asalvationעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

   For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10. 10

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoמֵתmetdiedבַּעֲדֵנוּba/a/DE/nufor usלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatאִם־נִשְׁקֹדim-nish/KODwhether we wakeוְאִם־נִישַׁןve/IM-ni/SHANor sleepנִחְיֶהnich/YEwe may liveיַחַדYA/chadtogetherעִמּוֹ׃im/MOwith him

    Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11. 11

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeנַחֲמוּna/cha/MUcomfortזֶהzeoneאֶת־זֶהet-zeanotherוּבְנוּu/ve/NUand build upאִישׁisheachאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huhis neighborכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּםgamalsoעֹשִׂיםo/SIMdoאַתֶּם׃at/TEMyou

    Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

12. 12

    וּמְבַקְשִׁיםu/me/vak/SHIMand askאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersלָדַעַתla/DA/atto knowאֶת־הָעֲמֵלִיםet-ha/a/me/LIMthose who laborבָּכֶםba/KHEMamong youוְהַנִּצָּבִיםve/han/nits/tsa/VIMand who are overעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMover youבָּאָדוֹןba/a/DONin the Lordוּמוֹכִיחִיםu/mo/khi/CHIMand admonishאֶתְכֶם׃et/KHEMyou

    And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

13. 13

    וְלַחְשֹׁבve/lach/SHOVand to esteemאֹתָםo/TAMthemיְקָרִיםye/ka/RIMdearעַד־מְאֹדad-me/ODveryבְּאַהֲבָהbe/a/ha/VAin loveלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofפְּעֻלָּתָםpe/ul/la/TAMtheir workוִיהִיvi/HIand let there beשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceבֵּינֵיכֶם׃be/ne/KHEMamong you

    And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

14. 14

    וּמַזְהִירִיםu/maz/hi/RIMand urgeאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersהוֹכִיחוּho/khi/CHUadmonishאֶת־הַמְעַקְּשִׁיםet-ham/ak/ke/SHIMthose who make crookedדַּרְכֵיהֶםdar/khe/HEMtheir waysנַחֲמוּna/cha/MUcomfortאֶת־רַכֵּיet-rak/KEthe tender ofהַלֵּבָבhal/le/VAVheartתִּמְכוּtim/KHUsupportאֶת־הָרָפִיםet-ha/ra/FIMthe weakוְהַאֲרִיכוּve/ha/a/ri/KHUand lengthenרוּחַRU/achspiritאֶל־כׇּל־אָדָם׃el-kol-a/DAMtoward every man

    Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

15. 15

    רְאוּre/Useeפֶּן־יְשַׁלֵּםpen-ye/shal/LEMlest repayאִישׁishanyoneלְאִישׁle/ISHfor eachרָעָהra/AevilתַּחַתTA/chatforרָעָהra/Aevilכִּיkibutאִם־רִדְפוּim-rid/FUrather pursueתָמִידta/MIDalwaysאֶת־הַטּוֹבet-hat/TOVthe goodגַּםgambothאִישׁishoneלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/huhis neighborגַּםgamandלְכׇל־אָדָם׃le/KHOL-a/DAMfor all men

    See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

16. 16

    שִׂמְחוּsim/CHUrejoiceתָּמִיד׃ta/MIDalways

    Rejoice evermore.

17. 17

    הִתְפַּלְלוּhit/pal/LUprayוְלֹאve/LOand notתֶחְדָּלוּ׃tech/da/LUcease

    Pray without ceasing.

18. 18

    בְּכׇל־דָּבָרbe/KHOL-da/VARin everythingהוֹדוּho/DUgive thanksכִּי־זֶהki-zefor this isרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the MessiahיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusעֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMfor you

    In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

19. 19

    אֶת־הָרוּחַet-Ha/RU/achthe Spiritלֹאlonotתְּכַבּוּ׃te/khab/BUquench

    Quench not the Spirit.

20. 20

    אֶת־הַנְּבוּאוֹתet-han/ne/vu/OTpropheciesלֹאlonotתִמְאָסוּ׃tim/a/SUdespise

    Despise not prophesyings.

21. 21

    בַּחֲנוּba/cha/NUtestכׇּל־דָּבָרkol-da/VAReverythingוּבַטּוֹבu/vat/TOVand to the goodאֱחֹזוּ׃e/cho/ZUhold fast

    Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

22. 22

    הִתְרַחֲקוּhit/ra/cha/KUkeep farמִכׇּל־הַדּוֹמֶהmik/KOL-had/do/MEfrom all that resemblesלָרָע׃la/RAevil

    Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23. 23

    וֵאלֹהֵיve/lo/HEand the God ofהַשָּׁלוֹםhash/sha/LOMpeaceהוּאhuHeיְקַדֵּשׁye/kad/DESHsanctifyאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבִּקְדֻשָּׁהbik/dush/SHAin holinessשְׁלֵמָהshe/le/MAcompleteוְכׇל־רוּחֲכֶםve/KHOL-ru/cha/KHEMand all your spiritוְנַפְשְׁכֶםve/naf/she/KHEMand your soulוְגוּפְכֶםve/guf/KHEMand your bodyיִשָּׁמֵרyish/sha/MERbe keptתָּמִיםta/MIMblamelessבְּבוֹאbe/VOat the coming ofאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24. 24

    נֶאֱמָןne/e/MANfaithfulהוּאhuisהַקּוֹרֵאhak/Ko/REthe One who callsאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoגַּם־יַעֲשֶׂה׃gam-ya/a/SEwill also do it

    Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

25. 25

    אַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersהִתְפַּלֲלוּhit/pa/la/LUprayבַעֲדֵנוּ׃va/a/DE/nufor us

    Brethren, pray for us.

26. 26

    שַׁאֲלוּsha/a/LUaskלִשְׁלוֹםlish/LOMafter the peace ofכׇּל־הָאַחִיםkol-ha/a/CHIMall the brothersבַּנְּשִׁיקָהban/ne/shi/KAwith the kissהַקְּדוֹשָׁה׃hak/ke/do/SHAholy

    Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

27. 27

    הִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמַשְׁבִּיעֲכֶםmash/bi/a/KHEMadjure youבָּאָדוֹןba/a/DONby the Lordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתִּקָּרֵאtik/ka/REbe readהָאִגֶּרֶתha/ig/GE/retthe letterהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisבְּאׇזְנֵיbe/oz/NEin the ears ofכׇּל־הָאַחִיםkol-ha/a/CHIMall the brothersהַקְּדוֹשִׁים׃hak/ke/do/SHIMholy

    I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

28. 28

    חֶסֶדCHE/sedgraceיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour Lordעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youאָמֵן׃a/MENamen

    The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
