1. 1

   וְעוֹדand-againנְבַקְשָׁהwe-beseechמִכֶּםfrom-youאַחַיmy-brothersוְנַזְהִירand-exhortאֶתְכֶםyouבַּאֲדֹנֵינוּby-the-LordיֵשׁוּעַJesusכִּיbecauseכַּאֲשֶׁרasקִבַּלְתֶּםreceivedמֵאִתָּנוּfrom-among-usאֵיךְhowעֲלֵיכֶםyou-oughtלְהִתְהַלֵּךְto-walkוְלִמְצֹאand-to-findחֵןfavorבְּעֵינֵיin-the-eyes-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godוְכַאֲשֶׁרand-asגַּם־הִתְהַלַּכְתֶּםalso-you-walkכֵּןthusתּוֹסִיפוּyou-would-aboundוְכֵןand-soתַּרְבּוּabound-more-and-moreעוֹד׃any-more

   Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

2. 2

   כִּיbecauseיְדַעְתֶּםyou-knowאֶת־הַמִּצְוֹתthe-commandmentsאֲשֶׁרwhichנָתַנּוּwe-gaveלָכֶםto-youבְּשֵׁםby-nameהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordיֵשׁוּעַ׃Jesus

   For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

3. 3

   כִּיbecauseזֶהthisרְצוֹןthe-will-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godקְדֻשַּׁתְכֶםyour-sanctificationלְהִתְרַחֵקthat-you-abstainמִן־הַזְּנוּת׃from-fornication

   For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

4. 4

   וְיֵדַּעthat-should-knowכׇּל־אִישׁevery-manמִכֶּםfrom-youלְהִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁto-useבְּכִלְיוֹin-his-vesselבִּקְדֻשָּׁהin-holinessוִיקָר׃and-honor

   That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

   וְלֹא־בְתַאֲוַתand-not-in-lust-ofזִמָּהof-concupiscenceכְּדֶרֶךְafter-manner-ofהַגּוֹיִםthe-nationsאֲשֶׁר־אֵינָםwhose-they-are-notיֹדְעִיםknowingהָאֱלֹהִים׃the-God

   Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

   וְלֹא־יַעֲשֹׁקthat-no-man-go-beyondאִישׁa-manוְיוֹנֶהand-defraudאֶת־אָחִיוhis-brotherבְּמַשָׂאin-anyוּמַתָּןmatterכִּי־נוֹקֵםbecause-an-avengerהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordעַל־כׇּל־זֹאתupon-all-thisכַּאֲשֶׁרasכְּבָרalreadyאָמַרְנוּwe-have-forewarnedאֲלֵיכֶםunto-youוְהַעִידֹנוּand-testifiedבָכֶם׃in-you

   That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

7. 7

   כִּיbecauseלֹא־קָרָאhath-not-calledאוֹתָנוּusהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godלַטֻּמְאָהunto-uncleannessכִּיbecauseאִם־לַקְּדֻשָּׁה׃but-to-the-holiness

   For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

8. 8

   עַל־כֵּןthereforeהַבּוֹזֶהhe-that-despisethלֹאnotבֶן־אָדָםmanהוּאheבוֹזֶהdespisethכִּיbecauseאִם־אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםif-the-Godאֲשֶׁרwhichגַּם־שָׂםhath-also-givenבְּקִרְבֵּנוּunto-usאֶת־רוּחַ־קׇדְשׁוֹ׃his-holy-Spirit

   He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

   וְעַל־אַהֲבַתand-upon-love-ofהָאַחִיםthe-brethrenאֵין־צֹרֶךְthere-is-no-needלִכְתֹּבto-writeאֲלֵיכֶםunto-youהֲלֹאdo-notאַף־אַתֶּםyea-you-areלְמוּדֵיtaught-ofיְהוָֹהGodלְאַהֲבָהto-loveאִישׁa-manאֶת־רֵעֵהוּ׃one-another

   But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

    וְגַםand-alsoעֲשִׂיתֶםyou-have-doneכֵּןthusלְכׇל־אֲחֵיכֶםto-all-your-brethrenאֲשֶׁרwhichבְּכׇל־מַקְדּוֹנְיָאin-all-Macedoniaאֲבָלbutנְבַקְשָׁהwe-beseechמִכֶּםfrom-youאַחַיmy-brothersאֲשֶׁרwhichכֵּןthusתַּעֲשׂוּyou-doוְכֵןand-soתּוֹסִיפוּ׃you-would-abound

    And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;

11. 11

    וְתִשְׁתַּדְּלוּand-that-you-studyלָשֶׁבֶתto-be-quietבְּנָחַתin-quietnessוְתַעֲשׂוּand-performאִישׁa-manמְלַאכְתּוֹhis-own-businessבַּעֲמַלand-to-work-withיְדֵיכֶםyour-handsכַּאֲשֶׁרasצִוִּינוּwe-commandedאֶתְכֶם׃you

    And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

12. 12

    לְמַעַןin-order-thatתִּתְהַלְּכוּyou-may-walkכְהֹגֶןhonestlyעִם־אֹתָםwith-thoseשֶׁבַּחוּץthat-are-outsideוְלֹאand-notתִּצְטָרֲכוּyou-may-have-lackלְאָדָם׃to-man

    That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

13. 13

    וְעַל־דְּבַרand-upon-the-word-ofהַיְשֵׁנִיםthem-which-are-asleepאֶחָיbrothers-myלֹא־נְכַחֵדwe-would-not-have-you-ignorantמִכֶּםfrom-youדָּבָרa-wordלְמַעַןin-order-thatלֹאnotתֵּעָצְבוּyou-sorrowכַּאֲחֵרִיםeven-as-othersאֲשֶׁרwhichאֵין־לָהֶםthere-is-no-to-themתִּקְוָה׃hope

    But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14. 14

    כִּיbecauseאִם־נַאֲמִיןif-we-believeאֲשֶׁר־מֵתthat-diedיֵשׁוּעַJesusוַיֶּחִיand-rose-againכֵּןthusיָבִיאshall-bringהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godגַּםalsoאֶת־הַיְשֵׁנִיםthem-which-are-asleepבְּיֵשׁוּעַin-Jesusאִתּוֹ׃with-him

    For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15. 15

    כִּיbecauseאֶת־זֹאתthisנֹאמַרwe-sayלָכֶםto-youבִּדְבַרby-the-word-ofיְהוָֹהthe-Lordכִּיbecauseאֲנַחְנוּweהַחַיִּיםwhich-are-aliveהַנּוֹתָרִיםand-remainעַד־בֹּאuntil-comeהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordלֹאֹnotנְקַדֵּםshall-preventאֶת־הַיְשֵׁנִים׃them-which-are-asleep

    For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16. 16

    כִּיbecauseהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordהוּאhimselfיֵרֵדshall-descendמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםfrom-heavenבִּתְרוּעָהwith-a-shoutבְּקוֹלwith-the-voice-ofשַׂרthe-chief-ofהַמַּלְאָכִיםthe-angelsוּבְשׁוֹפַרand-with-the-trump-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodוְאָזand-thenיָקוּמוּshall-riseרִאשׁוֹנָהfirstהַמֵּתִיםthe-deadבַּמָּשִׁיחַ׃in-the-Messiah

    For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17. 17

    אַחֲרֵי־כֵןhereafterאֲנַחְנוּweהַחַיִּיםwhich-are-aliveהַנּוֹתָרִיםand-remainנִלָּקַחwe-will-be-caught-upאִתָּםwith-themיַחְדָּוtogetherבַּעֲנָנִיםin-the-cloudsלִקְרַאתto-meetהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordלָאֲוִירto-the-airוּבְכֵןand-soנִהְיֶהshall-we-beתָמִידcontinuallyעִם־הָאָדוֹן׃with-the-Lord

    Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18. 18

    לָכֵןthereforeנַחֲמוּcomfortזֶהoneאֶת־זֶהanotherבַּדְּבָרִיםin-the-wordsהָאֵלֶּה׃these

    Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
