   Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

   כִּיkiforיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowאֶת־הַמִּצְוֹתet-ham/mits/VOTthe commandmentsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַנּוּna/TAN/nuwe gaveלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

   For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

3. 3

   כִּיkiforזֶהzethis isרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodקְדֻשַּׁתְכֶםke/dush/shat/KHEMyour holinessלִרְחֹקlir/CHOKto keep farמִן־הַזְּנוּת׃min-haz/ze/NUTfrom fornication

   For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

4. 4

   וְיֵדַעve/ye/DAand that should knowכׇּל־אִישׁkol-ishevery manמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youלִקְנוֹתlik/NOTto acquireאֶת־כֶּלְיוֹet-kel/YOhis vesselבִּקְדֻשָּׁהbik/dush/SHAin holinessוִיקָר׃vi/KARand honor

   That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

   לֹאlonotבְּתַאֲוַתbe/ta/a/VATby the desire ofחֵשֶׁקCHE/shekthe desire ofכַּגּוֹיִםkag/Go/YIMas the Gentilesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹאlonotיָדְעוּya/de/Uknowאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים׃et-ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

   לְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notיַעֲבֹרya/a/VORtransgressאִישׁishanyoneוְיַעֲשֹׁקve/ya/a/SHOKand wrongאֶת־אָחִיוet-a/CHIVhis brotherבַּדָּבָרbad/da/VARin the matterכִּיkibecauseנֹקֵםno/KEMan avengerהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONis the Lordעַל־כׇּל־אֵלֶּהal-kol-EL/leupon all theseכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּםgamalsoהִזְהַרְנוּhiz/har/NUwe urgedאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמִקֹּדֶםmik/KO/dembeforeוְהַעִידֹנוּve/ha/i/do/NUand testifiedבָכֶם׃va/KHEMto you

   That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

   כִּיkiforלֹא־קָרָאlo-ka/RAdid not callאוֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodלַטֻּמְאָהlat/tum/Ato uncleannessכִּיkibutאִם־לַקְּדֻשָּׁה׃im-lak/ke/dush/SHArather to holiness

   For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

8. 8

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeהַבּוֹזֶהhab/bo/ZEthe one who despisesלֹאlonotאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMthe manהוּאhuheבוֹזֶהvo/ZEdespisesכִּיkibutאִם־אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםim-et-ha/e/lo/HIMrather Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoגַּם־נָתַןgam-na/TANalso has givenלָנוּLA/nuto usאֶת־רוּחַ־קׇדְשׁוֹ׃et-RU/ach-kod/SHOHis Holy Spirit

   He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

   וְעַל־אַהֲבַתve/AL-a/ha/VATand concerning love ofהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brothersאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMyou are notחֲסֵרִיםcha/se/RIMlackingכִּיkithatאֶכְתֹּבekh/TOVI writeאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMto youכִּיkiforאַתֶּםat/TEMyouלִמּוּדֵיlim/mu/DEtaught ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDלְאַהֲבָהle/a/ha/VAto loveאִישׁisheachאֶת־רֵעֵהוּ׃et-re/E/huhis neighbor

   But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

10. 10

    וְגַםve/GAMand indeedעֹשִׂיםo/SIMdoאַתֶּםat/TEMyouכֵּןkensoלְכׇל־הָאַחִיםle/KHOL-ha/a/CHIMtoward all the brothersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho areבְּכׇל־מַקְדּוֹנְיָאbe/KHOL-mak/don/YAin all Macedoniaאֲבָלa/VALbutמְבַקְשִׁיםme/vak/SHIMaskאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersכִּיkithatתוֹסִיפוּto/SI/fuwill you continueלִרְבּוֹת׃lir/BOTto increase

    And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;

11. 11

    וְתָשִׂימוּve/ta/SI/muand that you makeלִבְּכֶםlib/be/KHEMyour heartלִשְׁקֹטlish/KOTto be quietוְלַעֲשׂוֹתve/la/a/SOTand to doאִישׁisheachמְלַאכְתּוֹme/lakh/TOhis workוְלִפְעֹלve/lif/OLand to workבִּידֵיכֶםbi/de/KHEMwith your handsכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוִּינוּtsiv/vi/NUwe commandedאֶתְכֶם׃et/KHEMyou

    And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

12. 12

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתִּתְהַלְּכוּtit/hal/le/KHUyou may walkבְּיֹשֶׁרbe/YO/sherin uprightnessאֶל־אֲשֶׁרel-a/SHERtoward those who areבַּחוּץba/CHUTSoutsideוְלֹאve/LOand notתֶחְסְרוּtech/se/RUyou may lackדָבָר׃da/VARanything

    That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

13. 13

    וְלֹא־אֲכַחֵדve/LO-a/kha/CHEDand I will not hideמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersעַל־דְּבַרal-de/VARconcerningהַיְשֵׁנִיםhay/she/NIMthose who sleepלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatלֹאlonotתֵּעָצְבוּte/a/tse/VUyou grieveכַּאֲחֵרִיםka/a/che/RIMlike othersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאֵין־לָהֶםen-la/HEMhave noתִּקְוָה׃tik/VAhope

    But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14. 14

    כִּיkiforאִם־נַאֲמִיןim-na/a/MINif we believeכִּי־מֵתki-metthat diedיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוְקָםve/KAMand roseכֵּןkensoגַּםgamalsoאֶת־הַיְשֵׁנִיםet-hay/she/NIMthose who sleepבְּיֵשׁוּעַbe/Ye/SHU/ain Jesusיָבִיאya/VIwill bringהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאִתּוֹ׃it/TOwith him

    For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15. 15

    כִּיkiforאֶת־זֹאתet-zotthisנֹאמַרno/MARwe sayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבִּדְבַרbid/VARby the word ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDכִּיkithatאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMwho are aliveהַנּוֹתָרִיםhan/no/ta/RIMwho remainעַד־בֹּאad-bountil the coming ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordלֹאlonotנְקַדֵּםne/kad/DEMwill go beforeאֶת־הַיְשֵׁנִים׃et-hay/she/NIMthose who sleep

    For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16. 16

    כִּיkiforהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordהוּאhuhimselfיֵרֵדye/REDwill descendמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenבִּתְרוּעָהbit/ru/Awith a shoutבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith the voice ofשַׂרsarthe chief ofהַמַּלְאָכִיםham/mal/a/KHIMthe angelsוּבְשׁוֹפַרu/ve/sho/FARand with the trumpet ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוְהַמֵּתִיםve/ham/me/TIMand the deadבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiahיָקוּמוּya/KU/muwill riseרִאשׁוֹנָה׃ri/sho/NAfirst

    For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17. 17

    אַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenafter thatאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMwho are aliveהַנּוֹתָרִיםhan/no/ta/RIMwho remainנִלָּקַחnil/la/KACHwill be takenיַחַדYA/chadtogetherעִמָּהֶםim/ma/HEMwith themבַּעֲנָנִיםba/a/na/NIMin the cloudsלִקְרַאתlik/RATto meetהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordבָּאֲוִירba/a/VIRin the airוְכֵןve/KHENand soנִהְיֶהnih/YEwe will beעִם־הָאָדוֹןim-ha/a/DONwith the Lordתָּמִיד׃ta/MIDalways

    Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18. 18

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeנַחֲמוּna/cha/MUcomfortאִישׁishoneאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huhis neighborבַּדְּבָרִיםbad/de/va/RIMwith the wordsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
