    וְעַל־כֵּןand-thereforeלֹאnotיָכֹלְנוּwe-were-ableעוֹדany-moreלְהִתְאַפֵּקto-forbearוַנִּוָּעַץwe-thought-it-goodלְהִוָּתֵרto-be-leftלְבַדֵּנוּaloneבְּאַתּוּנָה׃in-Athens

    Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;

    וַנִּשְׁלַחand-sentאֶת־טִימוֹתִיּוֹסTimothyאָחִינוּour-brotherוּמְשָׁרֵתand-minister-ofהָאֱלֹהִיםthe-Godוְעֹזְרֵנוּand-our-helperבִּבְשׂוֹרַתin-the-gospel-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahלְחַזֵּקto-strengthenאֶתְכֶםyouוּלְהַזְהִירand-to-comfortעַל־דְּבַרconcerningאֱמוּנַתְכֶם׃your-faith

    And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

    לְמַעַןin-order-thatאֲשֶׁרthatלֹא־יִמּוֹטno-man-be-movedאִישׁa-manבַּמְּצוּקוֹתby-these-afflictionsהָאֵלֶּהtheseכִּי־יְדַעְתֶּםbecause-you-knowאַף־אַתֶּםyea-you-areכִּיbecauseלָזֹאתto-thisיֻעָדְנוּ׃we-are-appointed

    That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

    הֲלֹאdo-notכְּבָרalreadyאָמַרְנוּwe-told-you-beforeאֲלֵיכֶםunto-youבִּהְיוֹתֵנוּwhen-were-weאֶצְלְכֶםwith-youכִּי־עֲתִידִיםthat-we-shouldאֲנַחְנוּweלְהִלָּחֵץsuffer-tribulationכַּאֲשֶׁרeven-asגַּם־הָיָהit-came-to-passוְכַאֲשֶׁרand-asיְדַעְתֶּם׃you-know

    For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

    וּבַעֲבוּרand-becauseכֵּןthusלֹא־יָכֹלְתִּיnot-I-couldעוֹדany-moreלְהִתְאַפֵּקto-forbearוָאֶשְׁלַחI-sentלָדַעַתto-knowאֱמוּנַתְכֶםyour-faithכִּיbecauseאָמַרְתִּיI-saidפֶּן־נִסָּהlest-hath-temptedאֶתְכֶםyouהַמְנַסֶּהthe-tempterוְהָיְתָהand-beלָרִיקin-vainיְגִיעָתֵנוּ׃our-labor

    For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

    וְעַתָּהand-nowכְּשׁוּבwhen-cameאֵלֵינוּunto-usטִימוֹתִיּוֹסTimothyמֵאִתְּכֶםof-youוַיְבַשֵׂרand-brought-us-good-tidingsאֹתָנוּusאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרַתgood-tidings-ofאֱמוּנַתְכֶםyour-faithוְאַהֲבַתְכֶםand-your-loveוְאֵתandאֲשֶׁרwhichאַתֶּםyou-areזֹכְרִיםhave-remembrance-ofאֹתָנוּusלְטוֹבָהfor-goodבְּכׇל־עֵתwith-all-timeוְנִכְסָפִיםand-longingלִרְאוֹתto-seeאֹתָנוּusכַּאֲשֶׁרasנִכְסֹףwe-longגַּם־אֲנַחְנוּalso-weלִרְאוֹתְכֶם׃to-see-you

    But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

    אָזthenנֻחַמְנוּwe-were-comfortedעֲלֵיכֶםover-youאַחַיmy-brothersבְּכׇל־צָרָתֵנוּin-all-our-distressוְלַחֲצֵנוּand-distressעַל־יְדֵיby-means-ofאֱמוּנַתְכֶם׃your-faith

    Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

    כִּיbecauseעַתָּהnowנִחְיֶהwe-liveאִם־תַּעַמְדוּif-you-stand-fastאַתֶּםyou-areבַּאֲדֹנֵינוּ׃in-the-Lord

    For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

  9. 9

    כִּיbecauseמַה־נָּשִׁיבwhat-thanks-can-we-renderלֵאלֹהִיםto-Godלְהוֹדוֹתto-give-thanksלוֹhimבַּעֲבוּרְכֶםfor-your-sakesעַלuponכׇּל־הַשִׂמְחָהall-the-joyאֲשֶׁרthatשָׂמַחְנוּwe-joyעֲלֵיכֶםover-youלִפְנֵיbeforeאֱלֹהֵינוּ׃our-God

    For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

    לַיְלָהnightוְיוֹמָםand-by dayמִתְפַּלְּלִיםprayingאֲנַחְנוּweבְּרָב־תַּחֲנוּנִיםexceedinglyלִרְאוֹתto-seeאֶת־פְּנֵיכֶםface-of-youוּלְהַשְׁלִיםand-might-perfectאֶת־מַחֲסֹרֵיthat-which-is-lacking-inאֱמוּנַתְכֶם׃your-faith

    Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

  11. 11

    וְהָאֱלֹהִיםand-the-Godאָבִינוּour-fatherוַאֲדֹנֵינוּand-lord-ourיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahהוּאheיְיַשֵּׁרdirectאֶת־דַּרְכֵּנוּour-wayאֲלֵיכֶם׃unto-you

    Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.

    וְאֶתְכֶםand-youיַרְבֶּהmake-you-increaseהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordוְיַפְרֶהand-aboundבְּאַהֲבַתin-love-ofאִישׁa-manאֶת־רֵעֵהוּone-anotherוּבְאַהֲבַתand-a-love-ofכׇּל־אָדָםall-menכַּאֲשֶׁרeven-asאֲנַחְנוּweאֹהֲבִיםloveאֶתְכֶם׃you

    And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

    לְחַזֵּקto-strengthenאֶת־לְבַבְכֶםyour-heartsלִהְיוֹתto-beתָּמִיםunblameableבִּקְדֻשָּׁהin-holinessלִפְנֵיbeforeאֱלֹהֵינוּour-Godאָבִינוּour-fatherבְּבוֹאat-the-coming-ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַthe-Messiahאֲדֹנֵינוּour-Lordעִם־כׇּל־קְדשָׁיו׃with-all-His-saints

    To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
