   Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;

   וַנִּשְׁלַחvan/nish/LACHand we sentאֶת־טִימוֹתִיּוֹסet-Ti/mo/tiy/YOSTimotheusאָחִינוּa/CHI/nuour brotherוּמְשָׁרֵתu/me/sha/RETand minister ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוְעֹזְרֵנוּve/oz/re/NUand our helperבִּבְשׂוֹרַתbiv/so/RATin the gospel ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahלְחַזֵּקle/chaz/ZEKto strengthenאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוּלְנַחֵםu/le/na/CHEMand to comfortאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouעַל־דְּבַרal-de/VARconcerningאֱמוּנַתְכֶם׃e/mu/nat/KHEMyour faith

   And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

   לְמַעַןle/MA/ansoאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־יִמּוֹטlo-yim/MOTwould not be movedאִישׁishanyoneבַּצָּרוֹתbats/tsa/ROTin troublesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכִּיkithatאַתֶּםat/TEMyourselvesיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowכִּיkithatלָזֹאתla/ZOTfor thisיְעָדָנוּ׃ye/a/da/NUHe appointed us

   That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

   כִּיkiforאׇמְנָםom/NAMtrulyבִּהְיוֹתֵנוּbih/yo/TE/nuwhen we wereעִמָּכֶםim/ma/KHEMwith youאָמַרְנוּa/MAR/nuwe tellלָכֶםla/KHEMyouמִקֹּדֶםmik/KO/dembeforeכִּיkithatתִמְצָאֵנוּtim/tsa/e/NUwould find usצָרָהtsa/RAtribulationכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּם־הָיָהgam-ha/YAalso it came to passוִידַעְתֶּם׃vi/da/TEMand you know

   For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenלֹא־יָכֹלְתִּיlo-ya/KHOL/tiI could notעוֹדodany longerלְהִתְאַפֵּקle/hit/ap/PEKhold backוָאֶשְׁלַחva/esh/LACHand I sentלָדַעַתla/DA/atto knowאֶת־אֱמוּנַתְכֶםet-e/mu/nat/KHEMyour faithכִּיkiforאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidפֶּן־נִסָּהpen-nis/SAlest has temptedאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouהַמְנַסֶּהham/nas/SEthe tempterוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand beלָרִיקla/RIKfor nothingעֲמָלֵנוּ׃a/ma/LE/nuour labor

   For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowכְּבוֹאke/VOwhen cameטִימוֹתִיּוֹסTi/mo/tiy/YOSTimotheusמֵאִתְּכֶםme/it/te/KHEMfrom youאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuto usוַיְבַשֵּׂרvay/vas/SERand brought good newsאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusאֶת־אֱמוּנַתְכֶםet-e/mu/nat/KHEMyour faithוְאֶת־חַסְדְּכֶםve/ET-chas/de/KHEMand your charityוְכִיve/KHIand thatזֹכְרִיםzokh/RIMrememberאַתֶּםat/TEMyouאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusלְטוֹבָהle/to/VAfor goodתָּמִידta/MIDalwaysנִכְסָפִיםnikh/sa/FIMlongingלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּם־אֲנַחְנוּgam-a/NACH/nuwe alsoלִרְאוֹתְכֶם׃lir/ot/KHEMto see you

   But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersנֻחַמְנוּnu/cham/NUwe were comfortedעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMabout youבְּכׇל־צָרָתֵנוּbe/KHOL-tsa/ra/te/NUin all our troubleוּמְצוּקָתֵנוּu/me/tsu/ka/te/NUand our distressבֶּאֱמוּנַתְכֶם׃be/e/mu/nat/KHEMin your faith

   Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

   כִּיkiforעַתָּהat/TAnowנִחְיֶהnich/YEwe liveאִם־תַּעַמְדוּim-ta/am/DUif stand firmאַתֶּםat/TEMyouבָּאָדוֹן׃ba/a/DONin the Lord

   For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

   כִּיkiforמַה־נָּשִׁיבma-na/SHIVwhat can we returnלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godלְהוֹדוֹתle/ho/DOTin thanksלוֹloto Himבַּעֲבוּרְכֶםba/a/vur/KHEMfor youעַלalforכׇּל־הַשִּׂמְחָהkol-has/sim/CHAall the joyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwith whichשָׂמַחְנוּsa/mach/NUwe rejoiceעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMover youלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהֵינוּ׃e/lo/HE/nuour God

   For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

    לַיְלָהLAY/lanightוְיוֹמָםve/yo/MAMand dayמִתְפַּלְלִיםmit/pal/LIMprayingאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweעַד־מְאֹדad-me/ODexceedinglyלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאֶת־פְּנֵיכֶםet-pe/ne/KHEMyour faceוּלְהַשְׁלִיםu/le/hash/LIMand to completeאֶת־חֶסְרוֹןet-ches/RONthe lack ofאֱמוּנַתְכֶם׃e/mu/nat/KHEMyour faith

    Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

11. 11

    וְהָאֱלֹהִיםve/ha/e/lo/HIMand GodהוּאhuHeוְאָבִינוּve/A/VI/nuand our Fatherוַאֲדֹנֵינוּva/a/do/NE/nuand our LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahיְיַשֵּׁרye/yash/SHERmake straightאֶת־דַּרְכֵּנוּet-dar/KE/nuour wayאֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMto you

    Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.

12. 12

    וְאֶתְכֶםve/et/KHEMand youיַרְבֶּהyar/BEmake increaseהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordוְיוֹתִירve/yo/TIRand aboundבְּאַהֲבָהbe/a/ha/VAin loveאִישׁisheachאֶל־רֵעֵהוּel-re/E/huto his neighborוְאֶל־כׇּל־אָדָםve/EL-kol-a/DAMand to all menכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasגַּם־אֲנַחְנוּgam-a/NACH/nuwe alsoאֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMtoward you

    And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

13. 13

    לְחַזֵּקle/chaz/ZEKto strengthenאֶת־לְבַבְכֶםet-le/vav/KHEMyour heartsתָּמִיםta/MIMblamelessבְּקֹדֶשׁbe/KO/deshin holinessלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאָבִינוּA/VI/nuour Fatherבְּבוֹאbe/VOat the coming ofאֲדֹנֵינוּa/do/NE/nuour LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahעִם־כׇּל־קְדֹשָׁיו׃im-kol-ke/do/SHAYVwith all his saints

    To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
