   Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

   לְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIso as notיִחְיֶהyich/YEhe should liveעוֹדodany longerאֶת־יֶתֶרet-YE/terthe rest ofיָמָיוya/MAYVhis daysבַּבָּשָׂרbab/ba/SARin the fleshלְתַאֲוֹתle/ta/a/VOTfor the desires ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofאָדָםa/DAMmenכִּיkibutאִם־לִרְצוֹןim-lir/TSONrather to the will ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

   That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

   כִּיkiforרַב־לָנוּrav-LA/nuenough for usהַזְּמַןhaz/ze/MANthe timeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעָבַרa/VARpassedמִיְּמֵיmiy/ye/MEfrom the days ofחַיֵּינוּchay/YE/nuour lifeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doחֵפֶץCHE/fetsthe desire ofהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesבְּלֶכְתֵּנוּbe/lekh/te/NUas we wentבְּזִמָּהbe/zim/MAin lewdnessבְּתַאֲוֹתbe/ta/a/VOTin desiresבְּסֹבְאֵיbe/sov/Eamong drinkers ofיַיִןYA/yinwineבְּזֹלְלֵיbe/zol/LEamong gluttons ofבָשָׂרva/SARmeatבְּמִשְׁתִּיםbe/mish/TIMin feastsוּבְתוֹעֲבוֹתu/ve/to/a/VOTand in abominations ofעֲבֹדַתa/vo/DATthe worship ofאֱלִילִים׃e/li/LIMidols

   For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּזֶהba/ZEin thisיִתְמְהוּyit/me/HUthey are amazedכִּיkithatלֹאlonotתָרוּצוּta/ru/TSUyou runעִמָּהֶםim/ma/HEMwith themאֶל־שֶׁטֶףel-SHE/tefto the flood ofהַזּוֹלְלוּתhaz/zol/LUTthe carousingהַהוּאha/HUthatוּמְדַבְּרִיםu/me/dab/be/RIMand speakingבָּכֶם׃ba/KHEMof you

   Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִתְּנוּyit/te/NUwill giveחֶשְׁבּוֹןchesh/BONan accountלַנָּכוֹןlan/na/KHONto the one who is readyלִשְׁפֹּטlish/POTto judgeהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMthe livingוְהַמֵּתִים׃ve/ham/me/TIMand the dead

   Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

   כִּיkiforעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeהִתְבַּשְּׂרוּhit/bas/se/RUreceived good newsגַּם־הַמֵּתִיםgam-ham/me/TIMthe dead alsoלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִדּוֹנוּyid/do/NUthey may be judgedבַבָּשָׂרvab/ba/SARin the fleshכִּבְנֵי־אָדָםkiv/NE-a/DAMas the sons of menוְיִחְיוּve/yich/YUand liveבָּרוּחַba/RU/achin the spiritכְּדֶרֶךְke/DE/rekhafter the way ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

   For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

   אֲבָלa/VALbutקֵץketsthe end ofהַכֹּלhak/KOLallקָרוֹבka/ROVis nearהֱיוּhe/YUbeאֵפוֹאe/FOthenנְבוֹנִיםne/vo/NIMprudentוְשִׁקְדוּve/shik/DUand keep watchעַל־הַתְּפִלָּה׃al-hat/te/fil/LAto prayer

   But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

   וְעַל־כֹּלve/AL-koland above allיְהִיye/HIlet there beלָכֶםla/KHEMto youחֶסֶדCHE/sedcharityעַזazstrongאִישׁisha manלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/huto his neighborכִּיkiforהַחֶסֶדha/CHE/sedcharityיְכַסֶּהye/khas/SEwill coverעַל־רֹבal-rovover a multitude ofחֲטָאִים׃cha/ta/IMsins

   And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

   פִּתְחוּpit/CHUopenדַּלְתְּכֶםdal/te/KHEMyour doorאִישׁisha manלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/huto his neighborבְּלִיbe/LIwithoutתְלֻנּוֹת׃te/lun/NOTmurmurings

   Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

10. 10

    כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasלָקַחla/KACHreceivedאִישׁisheachאִישׁishmanמַתָּנָהmat/ta/NAa giftכֵּןkeneven soשָׁרְתוּsha/re/TUserveבָּהּbain itאִישׁisha manלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/huhis neighborכְּסֹכְנִיםke/sokh/NIMas stewardsטוֹבִיםto/VIMgoodלְחַסְדֵיle/chas/DEof the grace ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהָרַבִּים׃ha/rab/BIMmany

    As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

    אִםimifיְדַבֵּרye/dab/BERspeaksאִישׁishany manיְדַבֵּרye/dab/BERlet him speakכְּדִבְרֵיke/div/REas the words ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאִםimifיְשָׁרֵתye/sha/RETservesאִישׁishany manיְשָׁרֵתye/sha/RETlet him serveכְּכֹחַke/KHO/achaccording to the strengthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִתֵּןyit/TENgivesאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatיִכָּבֵדyik/ka/VEDmay be glorifiedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבַּכֹּלbak/KOLin allעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלוֹloto himהַתְּהִלָּהhat/te/hil/LAthe praiseוְהַמֶּמְשָׁלָהve/ham/mem/sha/LAand the dominionלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMfor everוָעֶדva/EDand everאָמֵן׃a/MENamen

    If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

    יְדִידַיye/di/DAYmy belovedאַל־תִּתְמְהוּal-tit/me/HUdo not be amazedעַל־הַבֹּחַןal-hab/bo/CHANabout the trialאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isבָּאֵשׁba/ESHin the fireאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isלְנַסּוֹתְכֶםle/nas/sot/KHEMto try youכְּמִקְרֶהke/mik/REas an occurrenceזָרzarstrangeהַקֹּרֶהhak/ko/REthat happensאֶתְכֶם׃et/KHEMto you

    Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

13. 13

    כִּיkibutאִם־שִׂמְחוּim-sim/CHUrather rejoiceכְּפִיke/FIaccording toאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasחֵלֶקCHE/leka shareלָכֶםla/KHEMyou haveבְּעִנּוּיֵיbe/in/nu/YEin the sufferings ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatבְּהִגָּלוֹתbe/hig/ga/LOTwhen is revealedכְּבוֹדוֹke/vo/DOhis gloryתִּשְׂמְחוּtis/me/CHUyou will rejoiceגַּםgamalsoוְתָגִילוּve/ta/gi/LUand exultמְאֹד׃me/ODgreatly

    But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

    אִם־יְחָרְפוּim-ye/cha/re/FUif they reproachאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURforשֵׁםshemthe name ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאַשְׁרֵיכֶםash/re/KHEMblessed are youכִּיkiforנָחָהNA/charestsעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMon youרוּחַRU/achthe Spirit ofהַכָּבוֹדhak/ka/VODgloryוְרוּחַve/RU/achand the Spirit ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶצְלָםets/LAMwith themמִנֹּאָץmin/no/ATSdespisedהוּאhuhe isוְאֶצְלְכֶםve/ets/le/KHEMbut with youנִכְבָּד׃nikh/BADhe is glorified

    If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

15. 15

    אַךְakhbutאַל־יִסְבֹּלal-yis/BOLlet not sufferאִישׁisha manמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youכְּרֹצֵחַke/ro/TSE/achas a murdererאוֹoorכְגַנָּבkhe/gan/NAVas a thiefאוֹoorכִּמְרֵעַkim/RE/aas an evildoerאוֹoorכְּמִתְעָרֵבke/mit/a/REVas a meddlerבְּדִבְרֵיbe/div/REin the matters ofאֲחֵרִים׃a/che/RIMothers

    But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

16. 16

    וְאִםve/IMand ifיִסְבֹּלyis/BOLsuffersאִישׁishany manכִּמְשִׁיחִיKim/shi/CHIas a Christianאַל־יֵבוֹשׁal-ye/VOSHlet him not be ashamedכִּיkibutאִם־יְכַבֵּדim-ye/khab/BEDrather let him glorifyאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodעַל־זֶה׃al-zeabout this

    Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

17. 17

    כִּיkiforבָאvahas comeהָעֵתha/ETthe timeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָחֵלya/CHELwill beginהַמִּשְׁפָּטham/mish/PATthe judgmentמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom the house ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוְאִםve/IMand ifרִאשֹׁנָהri/sho/NAfirstמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom usיָחֵלya/CHELwill beginמַה־תִּהְיֶהma-tih/YEwhat will beאַחֲרִיתa/cha/RITthe end ofאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthose whoלֹאlonotשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Ulistenedלִבְשׂוֹרַתliv/so/RATthe gospel ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

18. 18

    וְאִםve/IMand ifצַדִּיקtsad/DIKthe righteousכִּמְעַטkim/ATbarelyלֹאlonotיִוָּשֵׁעַyiv/va/SHE/ais savedאֵיפֹהe/FOwhereיֵרָאֶהye/ra/Ewill appearהָרָשָׁעha/ra/SHAthe wicked oneוְהַחוֹטֵא׃ve/ha/cho/TEand the sinner

    And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

19. 19

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהַסֹּבְלִיםhas/sov/LIMthose who sufferכִּרְצוֹןkir/TSONaccording to the will ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיַפְקִידוּyaf/ki/DUlet them commitאֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיהֶםet-naf/sho/te/HEMtheir soulsלְמִשְׁמֶרֶתle/mish/ME/retfor keepingבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOinto His handבַּעֲשׂוֹתba/a/SOTin doingטוֹבtovwellכְּבוֹרֵאke/Vo/REas to a Creatorנֶאֱמָן׃ne/e/MANfaithful

    Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
