   Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

   בִּרְאוֹתָםbir/o/TAMwhen they seeאֶת־דַּרְכְּכֶןet-dar/ke/KHENyour conductהַטְּהוֹרָהhat/te/ho/RApureבְּיִרְאָה׃be/yir/Ain fear

   While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseפְּאֵרְכֶןpe/er/KHENyour adornmentאַל־יְהִיal-ye/HIlet it not beהַפְּאֵרhap/pe/ERthe adornmentאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isמִבַּחוּץmib/ba/CHUTSfrom outsideבְּמַחְלְפוֹתbe/mach/le/FOTin braids ofשֵׂעָרse/ARhairוַעֲדִיva/a/DIand ornaments ofזָהָבza/HAVgoldאוֹoorלִלְבֹּשׁlil/BOSHto wearמַחֲלָצוֹת׃ma/cha/la/TSOTfine robes

   Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

   כִּיkibutאִםimratherהָאָדָםha/a/DAMthe manהַצָּפוּןhats/tsa/FUNthe hiddenבַּלֵּבbal/LEVin the heartבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERin whatלֹאlonotיִשָּׁחֵתyish/sha/CHETis corruptedהוּאhuit isעֲדִיa/DIornaments ofרוּחַRU/acha spiritעֲנָוָהa/na/VAmeeknessוְהַשְׁקֵטve/hash/KETand quietאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלִפְנֵיlif/NEin the sight ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיָקָרya/KARpreciousמְאֹד׃me/ODvery

   But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

   For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

   כַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHEReven asשָׂרָהSa/RASaraשָׁמְעָהsha/me/Alistenedבְּקוֹלbe/KOLto the voice ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamבְּקָרְאָהּbe/ka/re/Acallingלוֹlohimאֲדֹנִיa/do/NImy lordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseאַתֶּןat/TENyouבְּנוֹתֶיהָbe/no/TE/haher daughtersכׇּל־עוֹדkol-odas long asתַּעֲשֶׂינָהta/a/SE/nadoטוֹבtovwellוְלֹאve/LOand notתִירֶאנָהti/re/NAfearingמִכׇּל־פַּחַד׃mik/KOL-PA/chadof any dread

   Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

   וְכֵןve/KHENand soאַתֶּםat/TEMyouהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMhusbandsשְׁבוּshe/VUdwellעִמָּהֶןim/ma/HENwith themבְּדַעַתbe/DA/atin the knowledge ofוּתְנוּu/te/NUand giveכָבוֹדkha/VODhonorלָאִשָּׁהla/ish/SHAto the wifeכִּכְלִיkikh/LIas a vesselחַלָּשׁchal/LASHweakוּכְיֹרְשִׁיםu/khe/yor/SHIMand as heirsיַחַדYA/chadtogetherאֶת־חֶסֶדet-CHE/sedthe grace ofהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMlifeלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatלֹאlonotתֵעָצַרְנָהte/a/tsar/NAbe restrainedתְּפִלּוֹתֵיכֶם׃te/fil/lo/te/KHEMyour prayers

   Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

   סוֹףsofthe end ofדָּבָרda/VARthe matterהֱיוּhe/YUbeכֻלְּכֶםkhul/le/KHEMall of youבְּלֵבbe/LEVwith a heartאֶחָדe/CHADoneחֹמְלִיםchom/LIMhaving compassionאִישׁisha manעַל־רֵעֵהוּal-re/E/huon his neighborאֹהֲבִיםo/ha/VIMloveכְּאַחִיםke/a/CHIMas brothersרַחֲמָנִיםra/cha/ma/NIMmercifulוּנְעִימִים׃u/ne/i/MIMand pleasant

   Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

   אַל־תְּשַׁלְּמוּal-te/shal/le/MUdo not repayרָעָהra/AevilתַּחַתTA/chatforרָעָהra/Aevilוְלֹאve/LOand notחֶרְפָּהcher/PArevilingתַּחַתTA/chatforחֶרְפָּהcher/PArevilingכִּיkibutאִם־לְהֶפֶךְim-le/HE/fekhrather the contraryבָּרְכוּba/re/KHUblessבְּדַעְתְּכֶםbe/da/te/KHEMknowingכִּיkithatלָזֹאתla/ZOTfor thisנִקְרֵאתֶםnik/re/TEMyou were calledלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּירְשׁוּti/re/SHUyou may inheritבְּרָכָה׃be/ra/KHAblessing

   Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

    כִּיkiforהֶחָפֵץhe/cha/FETSwho desiresלֶאֱהֹבle/e/HOVloveחַיִּיםchay/YIMlifeוְלִרְאוֹתve/lir/OTand to seeיָמִיםya/MIMdaysטוֹבִיםto/VIMgoodיַחְשֹׂךְyach/SOKHlet him hold backלְשׁוֹנוֹle/sho/NOhis tongueמֵרָעme/RAfrom evilוּשְׂפָתָיוu/se/fa/TAYVand his lipsמִדַּבֵּרmid/dab/BERfrom speakingמִרְמָה׃mir/MAguile

    For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

11. 11

    יָסוּרya/SURlet him departמֵרָעme/RAfrom evilוְיַעֲשֶׂה־טּוֹבve/ya/a/SE-tovand do goodיְבַקֵּשׁye/vak/KESHlet him seekשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceוְיִרְדְּפֵהוּ׃ve/yir/de/fe/HUand pursue it

    Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

12. 12

    כִּי־עֵינֵיki-e/NEfor the eyes ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־צַדִּיקִיםel-tsad/di/KIMtoward the righteousוְאׇזְנָיוve/oz/NAYVand His earsאֶל־תְּפִלָּתָםel-te/fil/la/TAMto their prayerוּפְנֵיu/fe/NEbut the face ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDבְּעֹשֵׂיbe/o/SEis against those who doרָע׃raevil

    For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

13. 13

    וּמִיu/MIand whoהוּאhuis heהַמֵּרַעham/me/RAwho will harmלָכֶםla/KHEMyouאִםimifתֵּלְכוּtel/KHUyou walkבְּעִקְּבוֹתbe/ik/ke/VOTin the footsteps ofהַטּוֹב׃hat/TOVgood

    And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

14. 14

    אֲבָלa/VALbutגַּםgamevenאִם־תִּסְבְּלוּim-tis/be/LUif you sufferלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofהַצְּדָקָהhats/tse/da/KArighteousnessאַשְׁרֵיכֶםash/re/KHEMblessed are youוְאֶת־מוֹרָאָםve/ET-mo/ra/AMand their terrorלֹאlonotתִירְאוּti/re/Ufearוְלֹאve/LOand notתִבָּהֵלוּ׃tib/ba/he/LUyou are troubled

    But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

15. 15

    אֶת־הָאָדוֹןet-ha/a/DONthe Lordאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֹתוֹo/TOHimתַקְדִּישׁוּtak/DI/shusanctifyבִּלְבַבְכֶםbil/vav/KHEMin your heartוִהְיוּvih/YUand beנְכֹנִיםne/kho/NIMreadyתָּמִידta/MIDalwaysלְהָשִׁיבle/ha/SHIVto returnלְכׇל־אִישׁle/KHOL-ishto every manהַשֹּׁאֵלhash/sho/ELthe one who asksמִכֶּםmik/KEMyouטַעַםTA/aman account ofהַתִּקְוָהhat/tik/VAthe hopeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבָּכֶםba/KHEMin youבַּעֲנָוָהba/a/na/VAwith meeknessוּבְיִרְאָה׃u/ve/yir/Aand with fear

    But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

16. 16

    וְלֵבve/LEVand a heartטוֹבtovgoodלָכֶםla/KHEMin youלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתַּחַתTA/chatinstead ofאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיְדַבְּרוּye/dab/be/RUthey speakבָכֶםva/KHEMof youכִּמְרֵעִיםkim/re/IMas evildoersיֵבֹשׁוּye/VO/shumay be ashamedהָעֹנִיםha/o/NIMwho testify againstשֶׁקֶרSHE/kerfalsehoodבְּדַרְכְּכֶםbe/dar/ke/KHEMin your conductהַטּוֹבָהhat/to/VAgoodבַּמָּשִׁיחַ׃bam/Ma/SHI/achin the Messiah

    Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

17. 17

    כִּיkiforטוֹבtovbetterאִם־כֵּןim-kenif soרְצוֹןre/TSONthe will ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלִסְבֹּלlis/BOLto sufferבַּעֲשׂוֹתba/a/SOTin doingטוֹבtovwellמִסְּבֹלmis/se/VOLthan to sufferבַּעֲשׂוֹתba/a/SOTin doingרָע׃raevil

    For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforגַםgamalsoהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahסָבַלsa/VALsufferedפַּעַםPA/ama timeאַחַתa/CHAToneעַל־חַטֹּאתֵינוּal-chat/to/TE/nufor our sinsהַצַּדִּיקhats/tsad/DIKthe righteousבְּעַדbe/ADforהָרְשָׁעִיםha/re/sha/IMthe wickedלְקָרֵבle/ka/REVto bring nearאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusאֶל־הָאֱלֹהִיםel-ha/e/lo/HIMto Godהוּמַתhu/MAThe was put to deathבַּבָּשָׂרbab/ba/SARin the fleshוַיְחִיvay/CHIand was made aliveבָרוּחַ׃Va/RU/achby the Spirit

    For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

19. 19

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּהּbain itגַּםgamalsoהָלַךְha/LAKHhe wentוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand proclaimedלָרוּחוֹתla/ru/CHOTto the spiritsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereבַּמִּשְׁמָר׃bam/mish/MARin prison

    By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

20. 20

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלְפָנִיםle/fa/NIMformerlyלֹאlonotהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nubelievedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenחִכָּהchik/KAwaitedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבְּאֹרֶךְbe/O/rekhin the length ofאַפּוֹap/POHis angerבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofנֹחַNO/achNoahבְּהֵעָשׂוֹתbe/he/a/SOTwhen was being madeהַתֵּבָהhat/te/VAthe arkאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנִמְלְטוּnim/le/TUescapedאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hainto itמְעַטִּיםme/at/TIMfewוְהֵםve/HEMand they wereשְׁמֹנֶהshe/mo/NEeightנְפָשׁוֹתne/fa/SHOTsoulsמִן־הַמָּיִם׃min-ham/MA/yimfrom the water

    Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatכִּדְמוּתוֹkid/mu/TOlike its likenessגַּםgamevenהַטְּבִילָהhat/te/vi/LAbaptismמוֹשִׁיעָהmo/shi/Asavesעַתָּהat/TAnowגַּםgamalsoאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusלֹאlonotהָסִירha/SIRthe removing ofצֹאַתtso/ATthe filth ofהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARthe fleshכִּיkibutאִם־מַעֲנֵהim-ma/a/NErather the answer ofלֵבlevheartטוֹבtovgoodלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMtoward Godעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughתְּחִיַּתte/chiy/YATthe resurrection ofיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָלַךְha/LAKHwentהַשָּׁמַיְמָהhash/sha/MAY/mainto heavenוְהוּאve/HUand he isלִימִיןli/MINat the right hand ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוְהַמַּלְאָכִיםve/ham/mal/a/KHIMand the angelsוְהַשַּׁלִּיטִיםve/hash/shal/li/TIMand the rulersוְהַגְּבוּרוֹתve/hag/ge/vu/ROTand powersנִכְנָעִיםnikh/na/IMsubmittingלוֹ׃loto him

    Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
