   Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

   To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

   Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

   אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּהּbain itתָּגִילוּta/gi/LUyou rejoiceמְאֹדme/ODgreatlyגַּםgamevenכִּיkithoughעַתָּהat/TAnowמְעַטme/ATa littleאִםimifצֹרֶךְTSO/rekhneedהוּאhuit isבְּתוּגָהbe/tu/GAin heavinessאַתֶּםat/TEMyouבְּמַסּוֹתbe/mas/SOTthrough trialsרַבּוֹת׃rab/BOTmany

   Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

   That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

   Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

   לֹקְחִיםlok/CHIMreceivingאֶת־אַחֲרִיתet-a/cha/RITthe latter end ofאֱמוּנַתְכֶםe/mu/nat/KHEMyour faithהִיאhiit isיְשׁוּעַתye/shu/ATthe salvation ofנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם׃naf/sho/te/KHEMyour souls

   Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעַל־הַיְשׁוּעָהal-hay/shu/Aabout the salvationהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisדָּרְשׁוּda/re/SHUinquiredוְחָקְרוּve/cha/ke/RUand searchedהֵיטֵבhe/TEVdiligentlyהַנְּבִיאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsהַנִּבְּאִיםhan/nib/be/IMwho prophesiedעַל־הַחֶסֶדal-ha/CHE/sedabout the graceהַבָּאhab/BAthat is comingאֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMto you

    Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

    חֹקְרִיםchok/RIMsearchingמָהmawhatאוֹoorאֵי־זֶהe-zewhatעֵתettimeהוֹדִיעַho/DI/ahas made knownרוּחַRU/achthe Spirit ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wasבְּקִרְבָּםbe/kir/BAMwithin themבְּהָעִידוֹbe/ha/i/DOwhen it testifiedמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHbeforehandעַל־עִנּוּיֵיal-in/nu/YEabout the afflictions ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahוְעַל־הַכָּבוֹדve/AL-hak/ka/VODand about the gloryאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat comeאַחֲרֵיהֶם׃a/cha/re/HEMafter them

    Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

    Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחִגְרוּchig/RUgirdמׇתְנֵיmot/NEthe loins ofשִׂכְלְכֶםsikh/le/KHEMyour mindהֱיוּhe/YUbeנְבוֹנִיםne/vo/NIMprudentוְקַוּוּve/kav/VUand hopeעַד־הַקֵּץad-hak/KETSto the endלַחֶסֶדla/CHE/sedfor the graceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיוּבָאyu/VAis to be broughtלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבְּהִגָּלוֹתbe/hig/ga/LOTwhen is revealedיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

    כִּבְנֵיkiv/NEas children ofמִשְׁמַעַתmish/MA/atobedienceאַל־תִּדַּמּוּal-tid/DAM/mudo not be likeכַּתַּאֲוֹתkat/ta/a/VOTaccording to the desiresהָרִאשֹׁנוֹתha/ri/sho/NOTformerבִּבְלִיbiv/LIin lack ofדַעְתְּכֶם׃da/te/KHEMyour knowledge

    As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

15. 15

    כִּיkibutאִםimratherכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהַקֹּרֵאhak/ko/REthe one who calledאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouקָדוֹשׁka/DOSHholyהוּאhuHe isכֵּןkensoהֱיוּhe/YUbeגַם־אַתֶּםgam-at/TEMyou alsoקְדֹשִׁיםke/do/SHIMholyבְּכׇל־דַּרְכֵיכֶם׃be/KHOL-dar/khe/KHEMin all your ways

    But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

16. 16

    כִּיkiforכָּתוּבka/TUVit is writtenוִהְיִיתֶםvih/yi/TEMand you shall beקְדֹשִׁיםke/do/SHIMholyכִּיkiforקָדוֹשׁka/DOSHholyאָנִי׃A/niam I

    Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

17. 17

    וְאִם־תִּקְרְאוּve/IM-tik/re/Uand if you callאֶל־הָאָבel-Ha/AVto the Fatherהַשֹּׁפֵטhash/sho/FETwho judgesבְּלִיbe/LIwithoutמַשֹּׂאmas/SOlifting ofפָנִיםfa/NIMfacesכְּמַעֲשֵׂהke/ma/a/SElike the deed ofאִישׁisheachוָאִישׁva/ISHand every manהִתְהַלְּכוּhit/hal/le/KHUwalkבְיִרְאָהve/yir/Ain fearבִּימֵיbi/MEin the days ofמְגוּרֵיכֶםme/gu/re/KHEMyour sojourningפֹּה׃pohere

    And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

18. 18

    בַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowכִּיkithatלֹאlonotבִּדְבָרִיםbid/va/RIMwith thingsנִשְׁחָתִיםnish/cha/TIMcorruptibleכְּכֶסֶףke/KHE/sefas silverוְזָהָבve/za/HAVand goldנִפְדֵּיתֶםnif/de/TEMyou were redeemedמִדֶּרֶךְmid/DE/rekhfrom the way ofהַבְלְכֶםhav/le/KHEMyour vanityאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהׇנְחַלְתֶּםhon/chal/TEMyou inheritedמֵאֵתme/ETfromאֲבוֹתֵיכֶם׃a/vo/te/KHEMyour fathers

    Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

    כִּיkibutאִם־בְּדַםim-be/DAMrather with bloodהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahהַיָּקָרhay/ya/KARthe preciousכְּשֶׂהke/SEas a lambתָמִיםta/MIMperfectוּבְלִיu/ve/LIand withoutמוּם׃mumblemish

    But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

20. 20

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאׇמְנָםom/NAMtrulyהוּכַןhu/KHANwas preparedמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHfrom the beginningלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeמוֹסְדוֹתmos/DOTthe foundations ofהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMthe worldאֲבָלa/VALbutנִגְלָהnig/LAwas revealedבָּעִתִּיםba/it/TIMin those timesהָאַחֲרוֹנִיםha/a/cha/ro/NIMthe lastהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלְמַעַנְכֶם׃le/ma/an/KHEMfor your sake

    Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

21. 21

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoעַל־יָדוֹal-ya/DOby himמַאֲמִינִיםma/a/mi/NIMbelieveבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMin Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֵקִיםhe/KIMraisedאֹתוֹo/TOhimמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadוַיִּתֶּן־לוֹvay/YIT/ten-loand gave himכָבוֹדkha/VODgloryלְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתִּהְיֶהtih/YEmight beאֱמוּנַתְכֶםe/mu/nat/KHEMyour faithוְתִקְוַתְכֶםve/tik/vat/KHEMand your hopeבֵּאלֹהִים׃be/lo/HIMin God

    Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

    בַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERsinceזִכִּיתֶםzik/ki/TEMyou have purifiedאֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶםet-naf/sho/te/KHEMyour soulsבְּשָׁמְעֲכֶםbe/sha/me/a/KHEMin your hearingבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voice ofהָאֱמֶתha/e/METthe truthעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritלְאַהֲבַתle/a/ha/VATto the love ofהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brothersבְּלִיbe/LIwithoutחֲנֻפָּהcha/nup/PAhypocrisyאֶהֱבוּe/he/VUloveאִישׁisha manאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huhis neighborבְּלֵבbe/LEVwith a heartטָהוֹרta/HORpureבְּחׇזְקָה׃be/choz/KAwith strength

    Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

23. 23

    וְהִנְּכֶםve/hin/ne/KHEMand you areנוֹלָדִיםno/la/DIMbornשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainלֹאlonotמִזֶּרַעmiz/ZE/raof seedנִשְׁחָתnish/CHATcorruptibleכִּיkibutאִםimratherמִזֶּרַעmiz/ZE/raof seedלֹאlonotיִשָּׁחֵתyish/sha/CHETwill be corruptedבִּדְבַרbid/VARby the word ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodהַחַיha/CHAYlivingוְהָעֹמֵדve/ha/o/MEDand the abidingלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

    Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

    כִּיkiforכׇל־בָּשָׂרkhol-ba/SARall fleshכֶּחָצִירke/cha/TSIRlike grassוְכׇל־כְּבוֹדve/KHOL-ke/VODand all the glory ofאָדָםa/DAMmanכְּצִיץke/TSITSas the flower ofחָצִירcha/TSIRgrassיָבֵשׁya/VESHwithersהֶחָצִירhe/cha/TSIRthe grassוְצִיצוֹve/tsi/TSOand its flowerנָפָל׃na/FALfalls

    For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

25. 25

    וּדְבַרu/de/VARbut the word ofיְהוָֹהAdonaithe LORDעֹמֵדo/MEDstandsלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverוְזֶהve/ZEand thisהוּאhuisהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe wordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבַּבְּשׂוֹרָהbab/be/so/RAin the gospelהֻגַּדhug/GADwas proclaimedלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

    But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
