   Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

   וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iמְשַׁבֵּחַme/shab/BE/achpraiseאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאֶחָיe/CHAYmy brothersכִּיkithatזְכַרְתֶּםze/khar/TEMyou rememberאֹתִיo/TImeבַּכֹּלbak/KOLin allוּשְׁמַרְתֶּםu/she/mar/TEMand keepאֶת־הַחֻקּוֹתet-ha/chuk/KOTthe ordinancesכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasמָסַרְתִּיma/sar/TII deliveredלָכֶם׃la/KHEMto you

   Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

   וְחָפֵץve/cha/FETSand I wantאֲנִיa/NIIכִּיkithatתֵדְעוּted/Uyou knowכִּיkithatרֹאשׁroshthe head ofכׇּל־אִישׁkol-ishevery manהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achis the Messiahוְרֹאשׁve/ROSHand the head ofהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanהָאִישׁha/ISHis the manוְרֹאשׁve/ROSHand the head ofהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahהוּאhuisהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

   כׇּל־אִישׁkol-ishevery manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִתְפַּלֵּלyit/pal/LELpraysאוֹoorיִתְנַבֵּאyit/nab/BEprophesiesוְרֹאשׁוֹve/ro/SHOand his head isמְכֻסֶּהme/khus/SEcoveredמְנַבֵּלme/nab/BELdishonorsהוּאhuheאֶת־רֹאשׁוֹ׃et-ro/SHOhis head

   Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.

   וְכׇל־אִשָּׁהve/KHOL-ish/SHAand every womanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoתִּתְפַּלֵּלtit/pal/LELpraysאוֹoorתִתְנַבֵּאtit/nab/BEprophesiesוְרֹאשָׁהּve/ro/SHAand her head isפָּרוּעַpa/RU/auncoveredאֶת־רֹאשָׁהּet-ro/SHAher headהִיאhisheמְנַבֶּלֶתme/nab/BE/letdishonorsכִּיkiforאַחַתa/CHAToneהִיאhishe isעִם־הַמְגֻלָּחָה׃im-ham/gul/la/CHAwith the shaven woman

   But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

   כִּיkiforהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanאִם־לֹאim-loif notתִתְכַּסֶּהtit/kas/SEis coveredגַּםgamalsoתִּגָּזֵזtig/ga/ZEZlet her be shornוְאִם־חֶרְפָּהve/IM-cher/PAand if a shameהוּאhuit isלָאִשָּׁהla/ish/SHAfor a womanלָגֹזla/GOZto be shornאוֹoorלְגַלֵּחַle/gal/LE/achto shaveאֶת־שְׂעָרָהּet-se/a/RAher hairתִּתְכַּסֶּה׃tit/kas/SElet her be covered

   For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

   אׇמְנָםom/NAMindeedאֵיןennotלָאִישׁla/ISHfor the manלְכַסּוֹתle/khas/SOTto coverאֶת־רֹאשׁוֹet-ro/SHOhis headכִּיkiforהוּאhuhe isצֶלֶםTSE/lemthe image ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוּכְבוֹדוֹu/khe/vo/DOand His gloryוְהָאִשָּׁהve/ha/ish/SHAand the womanהִיאhiisכְּבוֹדke/VODthe glory ofהָאִישׁ׃ha/ISHthe man

   For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

   כִּיkiforאֵין־הָאִישׁen-ha/ISHthe man is notמִן־הָאִשָּׁהmin-ha/ish/SHAfrom the womanכִּיkibutאִם־הָאִשָּׁהim-ha/ish/SHArather the womanמִן־הָאִישׁ׃min-ha/ISHfrom the man

   For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.

   גַּם־לֹא־נִבְרָאgam-lo-niv/RAand also was not createdהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURfor the sake ofהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanכִּיkibutאִם־הָאִשָּׁהim-ha/ish/SHArather the womanבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURfor the sake ofהָאִישׁ׃ha/ISHthe man

   Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

10. 10

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeעַל־הָאִשָּׁהal-ha/ish/SHAon the womanלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto haveלָהּlato herרִשְׁיוֹןrish/YONrightעַל־רֹאשָׁהּal-ro/SHAon her headבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofהַמַּלְאָכִים׃ham/mal/a/KHIMthe angels

    For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

11. 11

    אֲבָלa/VALbutאֵיןenthere is notהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manבְּלֹאbe/LOwithoutאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanוְאֵיןve/ENand there is notהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanבְּלֹאbe/LOwithoutאִישׁisha manבָּאָדוֹן׃ba/a/DONin the Lord

    Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

12. 12

    כִּיkiforכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanמִן־הָאִישׁmin-ha/ISHis from the manכֵּןkensoגַּם־הָאִישׁgam-ha/ISHalso the manעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEbyהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanוְהַכֹּלve/hak/KOLand allמֵאֵתme/ETofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

    שִׁפְטוּ־נָאshif/TU-najudge nowבְנַפְשְׁכֶםve/naf/she/KHEMin yourselvesהֲנָאוָהha/na/VAis it comelyלְאִשָּׁהle/ish/SHAfor a womanלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELto prayאֶל־הָאֱלֹהִיםel-ha/e/lo/HIMto Godוְרֹאשָׁהּve/ro/SHAand her headמְגֻלָּה׃me/gul/LAuncovered

    Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

14. 14

    הֲלֹאha/LOdoes notגַם־דֶּרֶךְgam-DE/rekheven the way ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthתְּלַמֵּדte/lam/MEDteachאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouכִּיkithatאִישׁisha manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיְגַדֵּלye/gad/DELgrowsפֶּרַעPE/rathe locks ofשְׂעַרse/ARthe hair ofרֹאשׁוֹro/SHOhis headחֶרְפָּהcher/PAa reproachהִיאhiit isלוֹ׃loto him

    Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

15. 15

    אֲבָלa/VALbutהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanכִּיkiifתְגַדֵּלte/gad/DELgrowsשְׂעָרָהּse/a/RAher hairפְּאֵרpe/ERa gloryהוּאhuit isלָהּlato herכִּי־נִתָּןki-nit/TANfor is givenלָהּlato herהַשֵּׂעָרhas/se/ARthe hairלְצָנִיף׃le/tsa/NIFas a veil

    But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

16. 16

    וְאִם־יֵרָאֶהve/IM-ye/ra/Eand if seemsאִישׁisha manאִישׁ־רִיבish-riva man of strifeלֹאlonotזוּzuis thisדַרְכֵּנוּdar/ke/NUour wayוְלֹאve/LOneitherדֶרֶךְDE/rekhthe way ofקְהִלּוֹתke/hil/LOTthe churches ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

    But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

17. 17

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdבְּצַוֹּתִיbe/tsav/vo/TIin my commandingאֶת־זֹאתet-zotthisלֹאlonotאֲשַׁבֵּחַa/shab/BE/achI praiseאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouעַל־אֲשֶׁרal-a/SHERbecauseתֵּאָסְפוּte/a/se/FUyou gatherיַחַדYA/chadtogetherלֹאlonotלְטוֹבָהle/to/VAfor goodכִּיkibutאִםimratherלְרָעָה׃le/ra/Afor evil

    Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforרִאשׁוֹנָהri/sho/NAfirstבְּהִקָּהֶלְכֶםbe/hik/ka/hel/KHEMwhen you gatherבַּקְּהִלָּהbak/ke/hil/LAin the churchשָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tiI have heardכִּיkithatיֵשׁyeshthere areמַחֲלֹקוֹתma/cha/lo/KOTdivisionsבֵּינֵיכֶםbe/ne/KHEMamong youוּמִקְצָתu/mik/TSATand part ofהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe matterאֲנִיa/NIIמַאֲמִין׃ma/a/MINbelieve

    For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

19. 19

    כִּיkiforכִּתּוֹתkit/TOTsectsגַּםgamalsoהָיֹהha/YObeתִהְיֶינָהtih/YE/nalet them beבֵּינֵיכֶםbe/ne/KHEMamong youלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִגָּלוּyig/ga/LUmay be revealedהַבְּחוּנִיםhab/be/chu/NIMthey which are approvedבָּכֶם׃ba/KHEMamong you

    For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

20. 20

    בְּהִקָּהֶלְכֶםbe/hik/ka/hel/KHEMwhen you gatherאֵפוֹאe/FOthenאֶל־מָקוֹםel-ma/KOMto a placeאֶחָדe/CHADoneאֵין־זֶהen-zethis is notלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatסְעוּדַתse/u/DATa meal ofהָאָדוֹן׃ha/a/DONthe Lord

    When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.

21. 21

    כִּיkiforבֶּאֱכֹלbe/e/KHOLin eatingאִישׁisheveryאִישׁishoneמַקְדִּיםmak/DIMgoes aheadלָקַחַתla/KA/chatto takeאֶת־סְעוּדָתוֹet-se/u/da/TOhis supperוְזֶהve/ZEand this oneיִרְעַבyir/AVis hungryוְזֶהve/ZEand this oneיִשְׁתַּכָּר׃yish/tak/KARis drunk

    For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

22. 22

    הֲכִיha/KHIis it thatאֵיןenthere are noלָכֶםla/KHEMto youבָּתִּיםbat/TIMhousesלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatוְלִשְׁתּוֹתve/lish/TOTand to drinkאוֹoorהֲתָבוּזוּha/ta/vu/ZUdo you despiseאֶת־קְהִלַּתet-ke/hil/LATthe church ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוְתָבִישׁוּve/ta/VI/shuand you shameאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthose whoאֵין־לָהֶםen-la/HEMhave notמָהmawhatאֹמַרo/MARshall I sayלָכֶםla/KHEMto youהַעַל־זֹאתHA/al-zotfor thisאֲשַׁבֵּחַa/shab/BE/achshall I praiseאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאֵינֶנִּיe/NEN/niI do notמְשַׁבֵּחַ׃me/shab/BE/achpraise

    What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

23. 23

    כִּיkiforקִבַּלְתִּיkib/bal/TII receivedאֲנִיa/NIIמִן־הָאָדוֹןmin-ha/a/DONfrom the Lordאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthat whichגַּם־מָסַרְתִּיgam-ma/sar/TIalso I deliveredלָכֶםla/KHEMto youכִּיkithatהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusבַּלַּיְלָהbal/LAY/lain the nightאֲשֶׁר־נִמְסַרa/SHER-nim/SARthat he was deliveredבּוֹboin itלָקַחla/KACHtookלָחֶם׃LA/chembread

    For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24. 24

    וַיּוֹדֶהvay/yo/DEand gave thanksוַיִּבְצַעvay/yiv/TSAand brokeוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidקְחוּke/CHUtakeאִכְלוּikh/LUeatזֶהzethisגוּפִיgu/FIis my bodyהַנִּבְצָעhan/niv/TSAthat is brokenבַּעַדְכֶםba/ad/KHEMfor youעֲשׂוּ־זֹאתa/SU-zotdo thisלְזִכְרִי׃le/zikh/RIfor my remembrance

    And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25. 25

    וְכֵןve/KHENand soגַּםgamalsoלָקַחla/KACHhe tookאֶת־הַכּוֹסet-hak/KOSthe cupאַחַרa/CHARafterהַסְּעוּדָהhas/se/u/DAthe supperלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהַכּוֹסhak/KOSthe cupהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisהִיאhiisהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantהַחֲדָשָׁהha/cha/da/SHAnewבְּדָמִיbe/da/MIin my bloodעֲשׂוּ־זֹאתa/SU-zotdo thisבְּכׇל־עֵתbe/KHOL-etat every timeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichתִּשְׁתּוּtish/TUyou will drinkלְזִכְרִי׃le/zikh/RIfor my remembrance

    After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

    כִּיkiforבְּכׇל־עֵתbe/KHOL-etat every timeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichתֹּאכְלוּto/khe/LUyou eatאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםet-hal/LE/chemthe breadהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְתִשְׁתּוּve/tish/TUand drinkאֶת־הַכּוֹסet-hak/KOSthe cupהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisתַּגִּידוּtag/GI/duyou proclaimאֶת־מוֹתet-motthe death ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordעַדadtillכִּיkithatיָבוֹא׃ya/VOhe comes

    For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

27. 27

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERwhoeverיֹאכַלyo/KHALeatsאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםet-hal/LE/chemthe breadהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְיִשְׁתֶּהve/yish/TEand drinkאֶת־כּוֹסet-kosthe cup ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלֹאlonotכָרָאוּיkha/ra/UYas is fittingיֶאְשַׁםye/SHAMwill be guiltyבְּגוּףbe/GUFagainst the body ofהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordוּבְדָמוֹ׃u/ve/da/MOand against his blood

    Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28. 28

    יִבְחַןyiv/CHANlet testהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹet-naf/SHOhis soulוְאָזve/AZand thenיֹאכַלyo/KHALlet him eatמִן־הַלֶּחֶםmin-hal/LE/chemfrom the breadוְיִשְׁתֶּהve/yish/TEand drinkמִן־הַכּוֹס׃min-hak/KOSfrom the cup

    But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29. 29

    כִּיkiforהָאֹכֵלha/o/KHELthe one who eatsוְהַשֹּׁתֶהve/hash/sho/TEand drinksלֹאlonotכָרָאוּיkha/ra/UYas is fittingאֹכֵלo/KHELeatsוְשֹׁתֶהve/sho/TEand drinksדִּיןdinjudgmentלְנַפְשׁוֹle/naf/SHOfor his soulכִּיkibecauseלֹא־הִפְלָהlo-hif/LAdoes not discernאֶת־גּוּףet-gufthe body ofהָאָדוֹן׃ha/a/DONthe Lord

    For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

30. 30

    בִּגְלַלbig/LALbecause ofהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe matterהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisיֵשׁ־בָּכֶםyesh-ba/KHEMthere are among youחַלָּשִׁיםchal/la/SHIMweakוְחוֹלִיםve/cho/LIMand sicklyרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyיָשְׁנוּya/she/NUsleepהַמָּוֶת׃ham/MA/vetthe death

    For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31. 31

    כִּיkiforאִם־נִשְׁפֹּטim-nish/POTif we judgedאֶת־נַפְשֵׁנוּet-naf/SHE/nuour soulsלֹאlonotנִשָּׁפֵט׃nish/sha/FETwe would be judged

    For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

32. 32

    וּבְהִשָּׁפְטֵנוּu/ve/hish/sha/fe/te/NUand when we are judgedיִסְּרֵנוּyis/se/re/NUHe chastens usהָאָדוֹןha/a/DONthe Lordלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notנֶאְשַׁםne/SHAMwe be condemnedעִם־הָעוֹלָם׃im-ha/o/LAMwith the world

    But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

33. 33

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאַחַיa/CHAYmy brothersבְּהִוָּעֶדְכֶםbe/hiv/va/ed/KHEMwhen you meetיַחַדYA/chadtogetherלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatחַכּוּchak/KUwaitזֶהzeoneלָזֶה׃la/ZEfor another

    Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

34. 34

    וְכִי־יִרְעַבve/KHI-yir/AVand if is hungryאִישׁisha manיֹאכַלyo/KHALlet him eatבְּבֵיתוֹbe/ve/TOin his houseפֶּן־תִּוָּעֲדוּpen-tiv/va/a/DUlest you meetלְאַשְׁמָהle/ash/MAfor guiltוְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the rest ofהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsאֲתַקֵּןa/tak/KENI will set in orderבְּבֹאִי׃be/vo/Iwhen I come

    And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
