    לְכוּfollowבְּעִקְּבוֹתָיin-my-stepsכַּאֲשֶׁרeven-asגַּם־אֲנִיI-alsoהֹלֵךְfollowבְּעִקְּבוֹתin-the-steps-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃Christ

    Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

    וְעַל־זֹאתnowאֲנִיIמְשַׁבֵּחַpraiseאֶתְכֶםyouאֶחָיbrethrenשֶׁזְּכַרְתֶּםthat-you-rememberאֹתִיmeבַּכֹּלin-all-thingsלִשְׁמֹרand-keepאֶת־הַקַּבָּלוֹתthe-ordinancesכַּאֲשֶׁרasמָסַרְתִּיI-deliveredלָכֶם׃to-you

    Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

    וּרְצוֹנִיbut-I-wouldשֶׁתִּהְיוּthat-youיֹדְעִיםknowשֶׁרֹאשׁthat-the-head-ofכׇּל־אִישׁevery-manהַמָּשִׁיחַis-Christוְרֹאשׁand-the-head-ofהָאִשָּׁהthe-womanהָאִישׁis-the-manוְרֹאשׁand-the-head-ofהַמָּשִׁיחַChristהוּאisהָאֱלֹהִים׃God

    But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

    כׇּל־אִישׁevery-manאֲשֶׁרwhichיִתְפַּלֵּלprayethאוֹorיִתְנַבֵּאprophesiethוְרֹאשׁוֹhaving-his-headמְכֻסֶּהcoveredמְנַוֵּלdishonorethהוּאheאֶת־רֹאשׁוֹ׃his-head

    Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.

    וְכׇל־אִשָּׁהbut-every-womanאֲשֶׁרthatתִּתְפַּלֵּלprayethאוֹorתִתְנַבֵּאprophesiethוְרֹאשָׁהּwith-her-headפָּרוּעַuncoveredאֶת־רֹאשָׁהּher-headהִיאsheמְנַוָּלֶתdishonorethכִּיforשָׁוָהeven-the-sameהִיאshe-isלִמְגֻלָּחָה׃as-if-shaven

    But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

    כִּיforהָאִשָּׁהthe-womanאִם־לֹאif-notתִתְכַּסֶּהbe-coveredגַּםalsoתִּתְגַּלָּחlet-her-be-shornוְאִם־בִּזָּיוֹןbut-if-a-shameהוּאit-beלָאִשָּׁהfor-a-womanלָגֹזto-be-shornאוֹorלְגַלֵּחַshavenאֶת־שְׂעָרָהּher-hairתִּתְכַּסֶּה׃let-her-be-covered

    For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

    אׇמְנָםindeedהָאִישׁthe-manאֵינֶנּוּnotחַיָּבoughtלְכַסּוֹתto-coverאֶת־רֹאשׁוֹhis-headכִּיforasmuch-asהוּאhe-isצֶלֶםthe-image-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodוּכְבוֹדוֹand-his-gloryוְהָאִשָּׁהbut-the-womanהִיאisכְּבוֹדthe-glory-ofהָאִישׁ׃the-man

    For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

    כִּיforאֵין־הָאִישׁthe-man-is-notמִן־הָאִשָּׁהof-the-womanכִּיbutאִם־הָאִשָּׁהthe-womanמִן־הָאִישׁ׃of-the-man

    For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.

    גַּם־לֹא־נִבְרָאneither-was-createdהָאִישׁthe-manבַּעֲבוּרforהָאִשָּׁהthe-womanכִּיbutאִם־הָאִשָּׁהthe-womanבַּעֲבוּרforהָאִישׁ׃the-man

    Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

    עַל־כֵּןfor-this-causeהָאִשָּׁהthe-womanחַיֶּבֶתoughtלִהְיוֹתto-haveאוֹתa-sign-ofמִשְׁמַעְתָּהּauthorityעַל־רֹאשָׁהּon-her-headבַּעֲבוּרbecause-ofהַמַּלְאָכִים׃the-angels

    For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

    אֲבַָלneverthelessאֵיןneither-isהָאִישׁthe-manבְּלֹאwithoutאִשָּׁהthe-womanוְאֵיןneitherהָאִשָּׁהthe-womanבְּלֹאwithoutאִישׁthe-manבָּאָדוֹן׃in-the-Lord

    Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

    כִּיforכַּאֲשֶׁרasהָאִשָּׁהthe-womanמִן־הָאִישׁis-of-the-manכֵּןeven-soגַּם־הָאִישׁis-the-man-alsoעַל־יְדֵיbyהָאִשָּׁהthe-womanוְכׇל־אֵלֶּהbut-all-theseמֵאֱלֹהִים׃of-God

    For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

    שִׁפְטוּ־נָאjudgeבְנַפְשְׁכֶםin-yourselvesהֲנָאֲוָהis-it-comelyלְאִשָּׁהfor-a-womanלְהִתְפַּלֵּלto-prayאֶל־הָאֱלֹהִיםunto-Godוְרֹאשָׁהּwith-her-headמְגֻלָּה׃uncovered

    Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

  14. 14

    וַהֲלֹאand-doth-notתִלְמְדוּyou-learnמִנּוֹהַגfrom-the-customשֶׁבָּעוֹלָםof-natureכִּיthatאִישׁa-manאֲשֶׁרwhichיְגַדֵּלlet-growפֶּרַעthe-locks-ofשְׂעַרthe-hair-ofרֹאשׁוֹhis-headחֶרְפָּהa-shameהִיאit-isלוֹ׃unto-him

    Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

  15. 15

    אֲבָלbutהָאִשָּׁהthe-womanכִּיifתְגַדֵּלhave-longשְׂעָרָהּhairפְּאֵרa-gloryהוּאit-isלָהּto-herכִּי־נִתָּןfor-is-givenלָהּherהַשֵּׂעָרthe-hairלְצָנִיף׃for-a-covering

    But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

    וְאִם־יֶאֱהַבbut-if-loveאִישׁany-manלָרִיבto-contendלֹאnotזוּsuch-isדַרְכֵּנוּour-customוְלֹאneitherדֶרֶךְthe-custom-ofקְהִלּוֹתthe-churches-ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃God

    But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

    וְהִנֵּהnowבְּצַוֹּתִיin-that-I-declareאֶת־זֹאתthisלֹאnotאוּכַלI-canלְשַׁבֵּחַpraiseאֶתְכֶםyouעַל־אֲשֶׁרthatתֵּאָסְפוּyou-come-togetherיַחַדtogetherלֹאnotלְטוֹבָהfor-the-betterכִּיbutאִםratherלְרָעָה׃for-the-worse

    Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

    כִּיforשָׁמַעְתִּיI-hearשֶׁיֵּשׁthat-there-beמַחֲלֹקוֹתdivisionsבֵּינֵיכֶםamong-youכְּשֶׁתִּוָּעֲדוּwhen-you-come-togetherבַקָּהָלin-the-churchוּמִקְצָתand-part-ofהַדָּבָרthe-matterאֲנִיIמַאֲמִין׃believe

    For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

    כִּיforכִּתּוֹתheresiesצְרִיכוֹתmustלִהְיוֹתbeבֵּינֵיכֶםamong-youלְמַעַןthatיִוָּדְעוּmay-be-made-manifestהַנֶּאֱמָנִיםthey-which-are-approvedשֶׁבָּכֶם׃among-you

    For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

  20. 20

    וְעַתָּהthereforeכַּאֲשֶׁרwhenתֵּאָסְפוּyou-come-togetherיָחַדinto-one-placeאֵין־זֶהthis-is-notלֶאֱכֹלto-eatסְעוּדָתוֹthe-supperשֶׁל־הָאָדוֹן׃of-the-Lord

    When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.

    כִּיforכׇל־אֶחָדevery-oneמַקְדִּיםtaketh-firstלָקַחַתto-takeסְעוּדָתוֹhis-own-supperבְּשַׁעַתat-the-time-ofהָאֲכִילָהeatingוְזֶהand-oneיִרְעַבis-hungryוְזֶהand-anotherיִשְׁתַּכָּר׃is-drunken

    For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

    הֲכִיwhatאֵיןhave-notלָכֶםyouבָּתִּיםhousesלֶאֱכֹלto-eatוְלִשְׁתּוֹתand-to-drinkאוֹorהֲתָבוּזוּdespise-youאֶת־קְהַלthe-church-ofאֱלֹהִיםGodוּתְבַיְּשׁוּand-shameאֶת־מִיthoseשֶׁאֵין־לוֹwho-have-notמָהanythingאֹמַרwhat-shall-I-sayלָכֶםto-youהַעַל־זֹאתin-thisאֲשַׁבֵּחַshall-I-praiseאֶתְכֶםyouאֵינֶנִּיI-do-notמְשַׁבֵּחַ׃praise-you

    What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

    כִּי־כֵןforקִבַּלְתִּיhave-receivedאֲנִיIמִן־הָאָדוֹןof-the-Lordוּמָסַרְתִּיthat-which-I-deliveredלָכֶםunto-youכִּיthatהָאָדוֹןthe-LordיֵשׁוּעַJesusבַּלַּיְלָהin-the-nightאֲשֶׁר־נִמְסַרwherein-he-was-betrayedבּוֹthereinלָקַחtookאֶת־הַלָּחֶם׃bread

    For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

  24. 24

    וַיְבָרֶךְand-when-he-had-given-thanksוַיִּבְצַעhe-brake-itוַיֹּאמַרand-saidקְחוּtakeאִכְלוּeatזֶהthis-isגוּפִיmy-bodyהַנִּבְצָעwhich-is-brokenבַּעַדְכֶםfor-youעֲשׂוּ־זֹאתthis-doלְזִכְרִי׃in-remembrance-of-me

    And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

    וּכְמוֹ־כֵןafter-the-same-manner-alsoאֶת־הַכּוֹסthe-cupאַחַרafterהַסְּעוּדָהthe-supperוַיֹּאמַרsayingהַכּוֹסthe-cupהַזֹּאתthisהִיאisהַבְּרִיתthe-testamentהַחֲדָשָׁהnewבְּדָמִיin-my-bloodעֲשׂוּ־זֹאתthis-do-youלְזִכְרִיin-remembrance-of-meבְּכׇל־זְמַןas-oft-asשֶׁתִּשְׁתּוּ׃you-drink

    After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

    כִּיforבְּכׇל־זְמַןas-often-asשֶׁתֹּאכְלוּyou-eatאֶת־הַלֶּחֶםbreadהַזֶּהthisוְתִשְׁתּוּand-drinkאֶת־הַכּוֹסcupהַזֹּאתthisהַזְכֵּרsurelyתַּזְכִּירוּyou-do-shewאֶת־מוֹתthe-death-ofאֲדֹנֵינוּour-Lordעַדtillכִּיthatיָבוֹא׃he-come

    For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

    לָכֵןwhereforeמִיwhosoeverשֶׁיֹּאכַלshall-eatמִן־הַלֶּחֶםof-breadהַזֶּהthisאוֹ־יִשְׁתֶּהor-drinkמִכּוֹסthe-cup-ofהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordשֶׁלּאnotכָרָאוּיas-is-fittingיֶאְשַׁםshall-be-guiltyלְגוּףof-the-body-ofאֲדֹנֵינוּour-Lordוּלְדָמוֹ׃and-of-his-blood

    Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

  28. 28

    יִבְחַןlet-examineהָאִישׁa-manאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹhimselfוְאָזand-soיֹאכַלlet-him-eatמִן־הַלֶּחֶםof-the-breadוְיִשְׁתֶּהand-drinkמִן־הַכּוֹס׃of-the-cup

    But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

    כִּיforהָאֹכֵלhe-that-eatethוְהַשֹּׁתֶהand-drinkethשֶׁלּאnotכָרָאוּיas-is-fittingאֹכֵלeatethוְשֹׁתֶהand-drinkethדִּיןdamnationלְנַפְשׁוֹto-himselfלְפִיin-thatשֶׁלּא־הִפְלָהhe-discerneth-notאֶת־גּוּףthe-body-ofהָאָדוֹן׃the-Lord

    For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

  30. 30

    בִּגְלַלforהַדָּבָרthe-causeהַזֶּהthisיֵשׁ־בָּכֶםamong-you-areחוֹלִיםsicklyוְחַלָּשִׁיםand-weakרַבִּיםmanyוְהַרְבֵּהand-manyיָשְׁנוּsleep-inהַמָּוֶת׃death

    For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

  31. 31

    כִּיforאִם־נִבְחַןif-we-would-judgeאֶת־נַפְשֵׁנוּourselvesלֹאnotנִהְיֶהwe-should-beנִדּוֹנִים׃judged

    For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

  32. 32

    וּכְשֶׁאֲנוּbut-when-weנִדּוֹנִיםare-judgedנִוָּסֵרwe-are-chastenedעַל־יַדofהָאָדוֹןthe-Lordכְּדֵיthatשֶׁלּאnotנְחֻיַּבwe-should-be-condemnedעִם־הָעוֹלָם׃with-the-world

    But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

  33. 33

    עַל־כֵּןwhereforeאַחַיmy-brethrenבְּהִוָּעֶדְכֶםwhen-you-come-togetherיַחַדtogetherלֶאֱכֹלto-eatהַמְתִּינוּtarryזֶהoneלָזֶה׃for-another

    Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

    וְכִי־יִרְעַבand-if-hungerאִישׁany-manיֹאכַלlet-him-eatבְּבֵיתוֹat-homeפֶּן־תִּוָּעֲדוּthat-you-come-not-togetherלְאַשְׁמָהunto-condemnationוְיֶתֶרand-the-rest-ofהַדְּבָרִיםthe-thingsאֲתַקֵּןwill-I-set-in-orderבְּבֹאִי׃when-I-come

    And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
