   הֵןhenyeaהֲלֹאha/LOdoes notגַם־יְשַׁעְיָהוּgam-Ye/sha/YA/hueven Isaiahאָמַרa/MARsayמִיmiwhoהֶאֱמִיןhe/e/MINbelievedלִשְׁמֻעָתֵנוּlish/mu/a/TE/nuour reportוּזְרוֹעַu/ze/RO/aand the armיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiעַל־מִיal-mito whomנִגְלָתָה׃nig/LA/tahas been revealed

   Yea, even doth not Isaiah say: Who hath believed our report, and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

2. 2

   וַיַּעַלvay/YA/alfor He grew upכַּיּוֹנֵקkay/yo/NEKas a tender plantלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himוְכַשֹּׁרֶשׁve/khash/SHO/reshand as a rootמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsout of a groundצִיָּהtsiy/YAdryלֹא־תֹאַרlo-TO/arHe had no formלוֹloto himוְלֹאve/LOand notהָדָרha/DARcomelinessוְנִרְאֵהוּve/nir/E/huand when we shall see Himוְלֹא־מַרְאֶהve/LO-mar/Ethere is no beautyוְנֶחְמְדֵהוּ׃ve/nech/me/DE/huthat we should desire Him

   For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground; he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him there is no beauty that we should desire him.

   נִבְזֶהniv/ZEHe was despisedוַחֲדַלva/cha/DALand rejectedאִישִׁיםi/SHIMof menאִישׁisha manמַכְאֹבוֹתmakh/o/VOTof sorrowsוִידוּעַvi/DU/aand acquainted withחֹלִיCHO/ligriefוּכְמַסְתֵּרu/khe/mas/TERand we hid as it wereפָּנִיםpa/NIMour facesמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himנִבְזֶהniv/ZEHe was despisedוְלֹאve/LOand notחֲשַׁבְנֻהוּ׃cha/shav/NU/huwe esteemed Him

   He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

   אָכֵןa/KHENsurelyחֳלָיֵנוּcho/la/YE/nuour griefsהוּאhuheנָשָׂאna/SAHe boreוּמַכְאֹבֵינוּu/makh/o/VE/nuand our sorrowsסְבָלָםse/va/LAMcarried themוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuyet weחֲשַׁבְנֻהוּcha/shav/NU/hudid we esteem Himנָגוּעַna/GU/astrickenמֻכֵּהmuk/KEsmittenאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godוּמְעֻנֶּה׃u/me/un/NEand afflicted

   Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

   וְהוּאve/HUbut He wasמְחֹלָלme/cho/LALwoundedמִפְּשָׁעֵנוּmip/pe/sha/E/nufor our transgressionsמְדֻכָּאme/duk/KAbruisedמֵעֲוֺנֹתֵינוּme/a/vo/no/TE/nufor our iniquitiesמוּסַרmu/SARthe chastisementשְׁלוֹמֵנוּshe/lo/ME/nuof our peaceעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himוּבַחֲבֻרָתוֹu/va/cha/vu/ra/TOand with His stripesנִרְפָּא־לָנוּ׃nir/PA-LA/nuwe are healed

   But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

   כֻּלָּנוּkul/LA/nuall weכַּצֹּאןkats/TSONlike the sheepתָּעִינוּta/I/nuwent astrayאִישׁishevery oneלְדַרְכּוֹle/dar/KOto his own wayפָּנִינוּpa/NI/nuwe turnedוַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand Adonaiהִפְגִּיעַhif/GI/ahas laidבּוֹboupon Himאֵת־עֲוֹנוֹתet-a/vo/NOTthe iniquitiesכֻּלָּנוּ׃kul/LA/nuof us all

   All we, like sheep, have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquities of us all.

   נִגַּשׂnig/GASHe was oppressedוְהוּאve/HUand Heנַעֲנֶהna/a/NEwas afflictedוְלֹאve/LOyet notיִפְתַּח־פִּיוyif/TACH-pivHe would open his mouthכַּשֶּׂהkas/SEas a lambלַטֶּבַחlat/TE/vachto the slaughterיוּבָלyu/VALbroughtוּכְרָחֵלu/khe/ra/CHELand as a sheepלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeגֹזְזֶיהָgoz/ZE/haher shearersנֶאֱלָמָהne/e/LA/mais dumbכֵּןkensoלֹאlonotפָתַחfa/TACHHe openedאֶת־פִּיהוּ׃et-PI/huHis mouth

   He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb so he opened not his mouth.

   מִכֶּלֶאmik/KE/lefrom prisonוּמִמִּשְׁפָּטu/mim/mish/PATand from judgmentלֻקָּחluk/KACHHe was takenוְאֶת־דּוֹרוֹve/ET-do/ROand His generationמִיmiwhoיְשׂוֹחֵחַye/so/CHE/achshall declareכִּיkiforנִגְזַרnig/ZARHe was cut offמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsout of the landהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMof the livingמִפִּשְׁעֵיmip/pish/Efor the transgressionsעַמִּיam/MIof my peopleנֶגַעNE/gawas he strickenלָמוֹ׃LA/moto him

   He was taken from prison and from judgment; and who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living; for the transgressions of my people was he stricken.

   וַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand he madeאֶת־רְשָׁעִיםet-re/sha/IMwith the wickedקִבְרוֹkiv/ROHis graveוְאֶת־עָשִׁירve/ET-a/SHIRand with the richבְּמֹתָיוbe/mo/TAYVin His deathעַלalbecauseלֹא־רָעָהlo-ra/Aevilעָשָׂהa/SAHe didוְלֹאve/LOneither was anyמִרְמָהmir/MAdeceitבְּפִיו׃be/FIVin his mouth

   And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no evil, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

    וַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand Adonaiחָפֵץcha/FETSit pleasedדַּכְּאוֹdak/ke/Oto bruise himהֶחֱלִיhe/che/LIhe has put him to griefאִם־תָּשִׂיםim-ta/SIMwhen you shall makeאָשָׁםa/SHAMan offering for sinנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis soulיִרְאֶהyir/EHe shall seeזֶרַעZE/raHis seedיַאֲרִיךְya/a/RIKHHe shall prolongיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוְחֵפֶץve/CHE/fetsand the pleasureיְהֹוָהAdonaiof Adonaiבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOin his handיִצְלָח׃yits/LACHshall prosper

    Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief; when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

    מֵעֲמַלme/a/MALthe travailנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOof his soulיִרְאֶהyir/EHe shall seeיִשְׂבָּעyis/BAHe shall be satisfiedבְּדַעְתּוֹbe/da/TOby His knowledgeיַצְדִּיקyats/DIKshall justifyצַדִּיקtsad/DIKrighteousעַבְדִּיav/DImy servantלָרַבִּיםla/rab/BIMmanyוַעֲוֺנֹתָםva/a/vo/no/TAMand their iniquitiesהוּאhuHeיִסְבֹּל׃yis/BOLshall bear

    He shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied; by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12. 12

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֲחַלֶּק־לוֹa/chal/LEK-lowill I divide Him a portionבָרַבִּיםva/rab/BIMwith the greatוְאֶת־עֲצוּמִיםve/ET-a/tsu/MIMand with the strongיְחַלֵּקye/chal/LEKHe shall divideשָׁלָלsha/LALthe spoilתַּחַתTA/chatbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֶעֱרָהhe/e/RAHe poured outלַמָּוֶתlam/MA/vetto deathנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis soulוְאֶת־פֹּשְׁעִיםve/ET-posh/IMand with transgressorsנִמְנָהnim/NAwas He numberedוְהוּאve/HUbut Heחֲטָאֵי־רַבִּיםcha/ta/E-rab/BIMthe sins of manyנָשָׂאna/SAHe boreוְלַפֹּשְׁעִיםve/lap/posh/IMand for the transgressorsיַפְגִּיעַ׃yaf/GI/amade intercession

    Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death; and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sins of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
