   And it came to pass that after the space of two years that Abinadi came among them in disguise, that they knew him not, and began to prophesy among them, saying: Thus has the Lord commanded me, saying—Abinadi, go and prophesy unto this my people, for they have hardened their hearts against my words; they have repented not of their evil doings; therefore, I will visit them in my anger, yea, in my fierce anger will I visit them in their iniquities and abominations.

   הוֹיhoywoeלַדּוֹרlad/DORunto the generationהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֵלַיe/LAYunto meשְׁלַחshe/LACHstretch forthיָדְךָya/de/KHAyour handוְהִנָּבֵאve/hin/na/VEand prophesyלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiהָיֹהha/YOsurelyיִהְיֶהyih/YEit shall beכִּיkithatהַדּוֹרhad/DORthe generationהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisבַּעֲוֹנוֹתֵיהֶםba/a/vo/no/te/HEMbecause of their iniquitiesיוּבְאוּyuv/Ushall be broughtלְעַבְדוּתle/av/DUTinto bondageוְיֻכּוּve/yuk/KUand shall be smittenעַל־הַלֶּחִיal-hal/LE/chiupon the cheekוְיִנָּהֲגוּve/yin/na/ha/GUand shall be drivenבִּידֵיbi/DEby the handאָדָםa/DAMof manוְיֵהָרְגוּve/ye/ha/re/GUand shall be slainוְנִשְׁרֵיve/nish/REand the vulturesהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimof the airוְהַכְּלָבִיםve/hak/ke/la/VIMand the dogsוְחַיַּתve/chay/YATand the beastsהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEof the fieldיֹאכְלוּyo/khe/LUshall devourאֶת־בְּשָׂרָם׃et-be/sa/RAMtheir flesh

   Yea, wo be unto this generation! And the Lord said unto me: Stretch forth thy hand and prophesy, saying: Thus saith the Lord, it shall come to pass that this generation, because of their iniquities, shall be brought into bondage, and shall be smitten on the cheek; yea, and shall be driven by men, and shall be slain; and the vultures of the air, and the dogs, yea, and the wild beasts, shall devour their flesh.

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכִּיkithatחַיֵּיchay/YEthe lifeהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhof the kingנֹחַNO/achNoahיֵחָשְׁבוּye/cha/she/VUshall be valuedכְּבֶגֶדke/VE/gedas a garmentבְּכוּרbe/KHURin a furnaceאֵשׁeshof fireוְיָדַעve/ya/DAand he shall knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהוָה׃AdonaiAdonai

   And it shall come to pass that the life of king Noah shall be valued even as a garment in a hot furnace; for he shall know that I am the Lord.

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכִּיkithatאַכֶּהak/KEI will smiteאֶת־עַמִּיet-am/MImy peopleזֶהzethisבְּצָרוֹתbe/tsa/ROTwith afflictionsקָשׁוֹתka/SHOTsoreבְּרָעָבbe/ra/AVwith famineוּבְדֶבֶרu/ve/DE/verand with pestilenceוּנְתַתִּיםu/ne/tat/TIMand I will cause that theyלְהֵילִילle/he/LILshall howlכׇּל־הַיּוֹם׃kol-hay/YOMall the day long

   And it shall come to pass that I will smite this my people with sore afflictions, yea, with famine and with pestilence; and I will cause that they shall howl all the day long.

   וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶתֵּןet/TENI shall layמַשָּׂאmas/SAburdensעַל־גַּבָּםal-gab/BAMupon their backsוְיִנָּהֲגוּve/yin/na/ha/GUand they shall be drivenכַּחֲמוֹרka/cha/MORas an assאִלֵּם׃il/LEMdumb

   Yea, and I will cause that they shall have burdens lashed upon their backs; and they shall be driven before like a dumb ass.

6. 6

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכִּיkithatאַשְׁלִיךְash/LIKHI shall castבָּרָדba/RADhailעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themוְהִכָּהve/hik/KAand it shall smiteאֹתָםo/TAMthemוְגַם־יֻכּוּve/GAM-yuk/KUand they shall also be smittenבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achwith the windהַקָּדִיםhak/ka/DIMof the eastוְשֶׁרֶץve/SHE/retsand insectsיְשַׁחֵתye/sha/CHETshall pesterאֶת־אַרְצָםet-ar/TSAMtheir landוְיֹאכַלve/YO/khaland shall devourאֶת־דְּגָנָם׃et-de/ga/NAMtheir grain

   And it shall come to pass that I will send forth hail among them, and it shall smite them; and they shall also be smitten with the east wind; and insects shall pester their land also, and devour their grain.

   וְיֻכּוּve/yuk/KUand they shall be smittenבְּדֶבֶרbe/DE/verwith pestilenceגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatוְכׇל־זֹאתve/KHOL-zotand all thisאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEwill I doבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofעֲוֹנוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/no/te/HEMtheir iniquitiesוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶם׃ve/to/a/vo/te/HEMand abominations

   And they shall be smitten with a great pestilence—and all this will I do because of their iniquities and abominations.

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beאִם־לֹאim-loif notיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey shall repentוְהַשְׁמִידve/hash/MIDutterlyאַשְׁמִידֵםash/mi/DEMI shall destroy themמֵעַלme/ALfrom uponפְּנֵיpe/NEthe faceהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAof the earthאַךְakhyetיַשְׁאִירוּyash/I/ruthey shall leaveסֵפֶרSE/fera recordאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMbehind themוְשָׁמַרְתִּיve/sha/MAR/tiand I will preserveאוֹתוֹo/TOitלְגוֹיִםle/go/YIMfor nationsאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיִירְשׁוּYI/re/shushall possessאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landגַּם־זֹאתgam-zoteven thisאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEwill I doלְמַעַןle/MA/anthat I mayגַּלּוֹתgal/LOTdiscoverאֶת־תּוֹעֲבוֹתet-to/a/VOTthe abominationsהָעָם־הַזֶּהha/AM-haz/ZEof this peopleלְגוֹיִםle/go/YIMto nationsאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherוּדְבָרִיםu/de/va/RIMand thingsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyנִבָּאnib/BAprophesiedאֲבִינָדִיA/VI/na/diAbinadiעַל־הָעָםal-ha/AMagainst the peopleהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

   And it shall come to pass that except they repent I will utterly destroy them from off the face of the earth; yet they shall leave a record behind them, and I will preserve them for other nations which shall possess the land; yea, even this will I do that I may discover the abominations of this people to other nations. And many things did Abinadi prophesy against this people.

   וַיִּקְצְפוּvay/yik/tse/FUand they were wrothעָלָיוa/LAYVwith himוַיִּתְפְּשׂוּvay/yit/pe/SUand they seizedאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיְבִיאֻהוּvay/vi/U/huand brought himאָסוּרa/SURboundלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhunto the kingהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהֵבֵאנוּhe/ve/NUwe broughtלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore youאִישׁisha manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנִבָּאnib/BAprophesiedרָעָהra/Aevilעַל־עַמֶּךָal-am/ME/khaconcerning your peopleוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saysכִּיkithatאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיַשְׁמִידֵם׃yash/mi/DEMwill destroy them

   And it came to pass that they were angry with him; and they took him and carried him bound before the king, and said unto the king: Behold, we have brought a man before thee who has prophesied evil concerning thy people, and saith that God will destroy them.

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoעַל־חַיֶּיךָal-chay/YE/khaconcerning your lifeנִבָּאnib/BAhe prophesiedרָעָהra/Aevilוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saysכִּיkithatחַיֶּיךָchay/YE/khayour lifeיִהְיוּyih/YUshall beכְּבֶגֶדke/VE/gedas a garmentבְּכוּרbe/KHURin a furnaceאֵשׁ׃eshof fire

    And he also prophesieth evil concerning thy life, and saith that thy life shall be as a garment in a furnace of fire.

11. 11

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאָמַרa/MARhe saidכִּי־תִהְיֶהki-tih/YEthat you shall beכְּקָנֶהke/ka/NEas a stalkאַףafevenכְּקַשׁke/KASHas a stalkהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEof the fieldהַיָּבֵשׁhay/ya/VESHdryאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichתְּדוּשֶׁנּוּte/du/shen/NUis run over byהַחַיָּהha/chay/YAthe beastsוְתִרְמְסֶנּוּve/tir/me/sen/NUand troddenבְּרַגְלֶיהָ׃be/rag/LE/haunder foot

    And again, he saith that thou shalt be as a stalk, even as a dry stalk of the field, which is run over by the beasts and trodden under foot.

12. 12

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאָמַרa/MARhe saidכִּי־תִהְיֶהki-tih/YEthat you shall beכְּצִיץke/TSITSas a blossomהַקּוֹץhak/KOTSof a thistleאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich whenבְּהַבְשִׁילוֹbe/hav/shi/LOit is ripeאִם־תִּשֹּׁבim-tish/SHOVif blowsהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe windיִנָּדֵףyin/na/DEFit is drivenעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the faceהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landוַיִּתְיַמֵּרvay/yit/yam/MERand he pretendsכִּי־יְהוָהki-Adonaithat Adonaiדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saysכִּיkithatכׇּל־אֵלֶּהkol-EL/leall these thingsיָבֹאוּya/VO/ushall comeעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaupon youאִם־לֹאim-lounlessתָשׁוּבta/SHUVyou repentוְזֹאתve/ZOTand this isבַּעֲוֹנוֹתֶיךָ׃ba/a/vo/no/te/KHAbecause of your iniquities

    And again, he saith thou shalt be as the blossoms of a thistle, which, when it is fully ripe, if the wind bloweth, it is driven forth upon the face of the land. And he pretendeth the Lord hath spoken it. And he saith all this shall come upon thee except thou repent, and this because of thine iniquities.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhO kingמֶה־רָעָהme-ra/Awhat evilגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatעָשִׂיתָa/SI/tahave you doneאוֹoorמֶה־חֲטָאִיםme-cha/ta/IMwhat sinsגְּדוֹלִיםge/do/LIMgreatחָטְאוּcha/te/Usinnedעַמְּךָam/me/KHAyour peopleכִּיkithatנֵחָשֵׁבne/cha/SHEVwe should be reckonedלִרְשָׁעִיםlir/sha/IMas wickedלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאוֹoorנִשָּׁפֵטnish/sha/FETbe judgedבְּיַד־הָאִישׁbe/YAD-ha/ISHby the hand of the manהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And now, O king, what great evil hast thou done, or what great sins have thy people committed, that we should be condemned of God or judged of this man?

14. 14

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhO kingהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdנְקִיִּיםne/kiy/YIMare guiltlessאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhO kingלֹאlohave notחָטָאתָcha/TA/tasinnedלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeשִׁקֵּרshik/KERliedהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaconcerning youוַיִּנָּבֵאvay/yin/na/VEand prophesiedלַשָּׁוְא׃lash/SHAVin vain

    And now, O king, behold, we are guiltless, and thou, O king, hast not sinned; therefore, this man has lied concerning you, and he has prophesied in vain.

15. 15

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdחֲזָקִיםcha/za/KIMare strongאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweלֹאlonotנָבוֹאna/VOwe shall comeבְּעַבְדוּתbe/av/DUTinto bondageוְלֹאve/LOand notנִלָּכֵדnil/la/KHEDbe takenבְּיַד־אוֹיְבֵינוּbe/YAD-oy/VE/nuby our enemiesוְגַם־הִצְלַחְתָּve/GAM-hits/lach/TAand you prosperedבָאָרֶץva/A/retsin the landוְעוֹדve/ODand againתַּצְלִיחַ׃tats/LI/achyou shall prosper

    And behold, we are strong, we shall not come into bondage, or be taken captive by our enemies; yea, and thou hast prospered in the land, and thou shalt also prosper.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manנְתַנֻּהוּne/tan/nu/HUwe deliver himבְיָדֶךָve/ya/DE/khainto your handוַעֲשֵׂה־לוֹva/a/SE-loand do with himכַּטּוֹבkat/TOVas is goodבְּעֵינֶיךָ׃be/e/NE/khain your eyes

    Behold, here is the man, we deliver him into thy hands; thou mayest do with him as seemeth thee good.

17. 17

    וַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingנֹחַNO/achNoahלְהַשְׁלִיךְle/hash/LIKHto castאֶת־אֲבִינָדִיet-A/VI/na/diAbinadiלְבֵיתle/VETto the houseהַכֶּלֶאhak/KE/leof prisonוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand he commandedלְהַקְהִילle/hak/HILto gatherאֶת־הַכֹּהֲנִיםet-hak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doעִמָּםim/MAMwith themעֵצָהe/TSAcounselמַה־יַּעֲשֶׂהma-ya/a/SEwhat he should doלוֹ׃lowith him

    And it came to pass that king Noah caused that Abinadi should be cast into prison; and he commanded that the priests should gather themselves together that he might hold a council with them what he should do with him.

18. 18

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhunto the kingהֲבִיאֵהוּha/vi/e/HUbring himהֵנָּהHEN/nahitherוְנַחְקְרֵהוּve/nach/ke/re/HUand we shall question himוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingלַהֲבִיאוֹla/ha/vi/Oto bring himלִפְנֵיהֶם׃lif/ne/HEMbefore them

    And it came to pass that they said unto the king: Bring him hither that we may question him; and the king commanded that he should be brought before them.

    וַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luand they beganלְחׇקְרוֹle/chok/ROto question himלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיַכְשִׁילֻהוּyakh/shi/lu/HUthey might cross himוְיִמְצְאוּve/yim/tse/Uthat thereby they might haveבַּמֶּהbam/MEwherewithלְהַאֲשִׁימוֹle/ha/a/shi/MOto accuse himוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredאֹתָםo/TAMthemבְּאֹמֶץbe/O/metswith boldnessוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand he withstoodבְּכׇל־שְׁאֵלוֹתֵיהֶםbe/KHOL-she/e/lo/te/HEMall their questionsוַיְהִיvay/HIand it becameלְפֶלֶאle/FE/lea wonderבְּעֵינֵיהֶםbe/e/ne/HEMin their eyesכִּיkiforעָמַדa/MADhe withstoodבְּכׇל־שְׁאֵלוֹתֵיהֶםbe/KHOL-she/e/lo/te/HEMall their questionsוַיַּכְלִימֵםvay/yakh/li/MEMand confounded themבְּכׇלbe/KHOLin allדִּבְרֵיהֶם׃div/re/HEMtheir words

    And they began to question him, that they might cross him, that thereby they might have wherewith to accuse him; but he answered them boldly, and withstood all their questions, yea, to their astonishment; for he did withstand them in all their questions, and did confound them in all their words.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵהֶםme/HEMof themמַה־פִּתְרוֹןma-pit/RONwhat meansהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe wordsהַכְּתוּבִיםhak/ke/tu/VIMwhich are writtenוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whichלִמְּדוּlim/me/DUtaughtאֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And it came to pass that one of them said unto him: What meaneth the words which are written, and which have been taught by our fathers, saying:

21. 21

    מַה־נָּאווּma-na/VUhow beautifulעַל־הֶהָרִיםal-he/ha/RIMupon the mountainsרַגְלֵיrag/LEare the feetמְבַשֵּׂרme/vas/SERof him that brings good tidingsמַשְׁמִיעַmash/MI/athat publishesשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceמְבַשֵּׂרme/vas/SERthat brings good tidingsטוֹבtovof goodמַשְׁמִיעַmash/MI/athat publishesיְשׁוּעָהye/shu/Asalvationאֹמֵרo/MERthat saithלְצִיּוֹןle/Tsiy/YONunto Zionמָלַךְma/LAKHreignsאֱלֹהָיִךְ׃e/lo/HA/yikhyour God

    How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings; that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good; that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth;

22. 22

    קוֹלkolthe voiceצֹפַיִךְtso/FA/yikhof your watchmenנָשְׂאוּna/se/Uthey lift upקוֹלkolthe voiceיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherיְרַנֵּנוּye/ran/NE/nushall they singכִּיkiforעַיִןA/yineyeבְּעַיִןbe/A/yinto eyeיִרְאוּyir/Uthey shall seeבְּשׁוּבbe/SHUVwhen returnsיְהֹוָהAdonaiAdonaiצִיּוֹן׃Tsiy/YONZion

    Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing; for they shall see eye to eye when the Lord shall bring again Zion;

23. 23

    פִּצְחוּpits/CHUbreak forthרַנְּנוּran/ne/NUsingיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherחׇרְבוֹתchor/VOTyou waste placesיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimof Jerusalemכִּי־נִחַםki-ni/CHAMfor comfortedיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiעַמּוֹam/MOHis peopleגָּאַלga/ALHe redeemedיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    Break forth into joy; sing together ye waste places of Jerusalem; for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem;

24. 24

    חָשַׂףcha/SAFmade bareיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֶת־זְרוֹעַet-ze/RO/athe armקׇדְשׁוֹkod/SHOof His holinessלְעֵינֵיle/e/NEin the eyesכׇּל־הַגּוֹיִםkol-hag/go/YIMof all the nationsוְרָאוּve/ra/Uand shall seeכׇּל־אַפְסֵי־אָרֶץkol-af/SE-A/retsall the ends of the earthאֵת־יְשׁוּעַתet-ye/shu/ATthe salvationאֱלֹהֵינוּ׃e/lo/HE/nuof our God

    The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God?

    And now Abinadi said unto them: Are you priests, and pretend to teach this people, and to understand the spirit of prophesying, and yet desire to know of me what these things mean?

    אֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youאוֹיoywoלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youעַל־עַקֵּשׁal-ak/KESHfor pervertingדַּרְכֵיdar/KHEthe waysיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiכִּי־אִםki-imfor ifהֲבִינֹתֶםha/vi/no/TEMyou understoodאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלֹאloyou have notהוֹרֵיתֶםho/re/TEMtaughtאֹתָםo/TAMthemלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeעִקַּשְׁתֶּםik/kash/TEMyou pervertedאֶת־דַּרְכֵיet-dar/KHEthe waysיְהוָה׃Adonaiof Adonai

    I say unto you, wo be unto you for perverting the ways of the Lord! For if ye understand these things ye have not taught them; therefore, ye have perverted the ways of the Lord.

27. 27

    לֹא־שַׂמְתֶּםlo-sam/TEMyou have not setלִבְּכֶםlib/be/KHEMyour heartsלַבִּינָהlab/bi/NAto understandingלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeלֹאloyou have notהִשְׂכַּלְתֶּםhis/kal/TEMbeen wiseלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeמַה־תּוֹרוּma-to/RUwhat teach youאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Ye have not applied your hearts to understanding; therefore, ye have not been wise. Therefore, what teach ye this people?

28. 28

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidתּוֹרַתto/RATthe lawמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEof Mosesאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweמוֹרִים׃mo/RIMteach

    And they said: We teach the law of Moses.

29. 29

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themעוֹדodagainאִם־תּוֹרוּim-to/RUif you teachאֶת־תּוֹרַתet-to/RATthe lawמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEof MosesלָמָּהLAM/mawhyלֹאlonotתִשְׁמְרוּהָtish/me/ru/HAdo you keep itלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתָשִׂימוּta/SI/mudo you setלִבְּכֶםlib/be/KHEMyour heartsעַל־הָעֹשֶׁרal-ha/O/sherupon richesלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתִזְנוּtiz/NUdo you commit whoredomsוּתְבַלּוּu/te/val/LUand spendכֹּחֲכֶםko/cha/KHEMyour strengthעִם־זוֹנוֹתim-zo/NOTwith harlotsוְגַםve/GAMand alsoתַּעֲשׂוּta/a/SUyou causeאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלַחֲטֹאla/cha/TOto sinעַד־אֲשֶׁרad-a/SHERuntilשָׁלַחsha/LACHsentיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֹתִיo/TImeלְהִנָּבֵאle/hin/na/VEto prophesyעַל־הָעָםal-ha/AMagainst the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְגַםve/GAMand alsoרָעָהra/Aevilגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatעַל־הָעָםal-ha/AMagainst the peopleהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And again he said unto them: If ye teach the law of Moses why do ye not keep it? Why do ye set your hearts upon riches? Why do ye commit whoredoms and spend your strength with harlots, yea, and cause this people to commit sin, that the Lord has cause to send me to prophesy against this people, yea, even a great evil against this people?

30. 30

    הֲלֹאha/LOdo you notיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMknowכִּיkithatאֱמֶתe/METthe truthאֲנִיa/NIIדֹבֵרdo/VERspeakאַףafyeaיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowכִּיkithatאֱמֶתe/METthe truthאֲנִיa/NIIדֹבֵרdo/VERspeakוַחֲרֹדva/cha/RODand trembleתֶּחֶרְדוּte/cher/DUyou ought to trembleלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    Know ye not that I speak the truth? Yea, ye know that I speak the truth; and you ought to tremble before God.

31. 31

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכִּיkithatתֻכּוּtuk/KUyou shall be smittenבַּעֲוֹנֹתֵיכֶםba/a/vo/no/te/KHEMin your iniquitiesכִּיkiforאֲמַרְתֶּםa/mar/TEMyou saidמוֹרִיםmo/RIMteachאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweתּוֹרַתto/RATthe lawמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEof Mosesוּמַה־יְּדַעְתֶּםu/MA-ye/da/TEMand what do you knowמִתּוֹרַתmit/to/RATconcerning the lawמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEof Mosesהֲתָבֹאha/ta/VOdoes comeיְשׁוּעָהye/shu/Asalvationמִתּוֹרַתmit/to/RATby the lawמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEof Mosesמַה־תֹּאמְרוּ׃ma-to/me/RUwhat do you say

    And it shall come to pass that ye shall be smitten for your iniquities, for ye have said that ye teach the law of Moses. And what know ye concerning the law of Moses? Doth salvation come by the law of Moses? What say ye?

32. 32

    וַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand they answeredוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidכִּיkithatתָבֹאta/VOdoes comeהַיְשׁוּעָהhay/shu/Asalvationמִתּוֹרַתmit/to/RATby the lawמֹשֶׁה׃Mo/SHEof Moses

    And they answered and said that salvation did come by the law of Moses.

33. 33

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themאֲבִינָדִיA/VI/na/diAbinadiיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowכִּי־אִםki-imthat ifתִּשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou shall keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתet-mits/VOTthe commandmentsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godתִּוָּשֵׁעוּtiv/va/she/Uyou shall be savedאַףafyeaאִם־תִּשְׁמְרוּim-tish/me/RUif you keepאֶת־הַמִּצְוֹתet-ham/mits/VOTthe commandmentsאֲשֶׁר־נָתַןa/SHER-na/TANwhich gaveיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiלְמֹשֶׁהle/Mo/SHEunto Mosesבְּהַרbe/HARin the mountסִינַיSi/NAYof Sinaiלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    But now Abinadi said unto them: I know if ye keep the commandments of God ye shall be saved; yea, if ye keep the commandments which the Lord delivered unto Moses in the mount of Sinai, saying:

    אָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהוֹצֵאתִיךָho/tse/TI/khabrought youמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsout of the landמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimof Egyptמִבֵּיתmib/BETout of the houseעֲבָדִים׃a/va/DIMof bondage

    I am the Lord thy God, who hath brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

35. 35

    לֹא־יִהְיֶהlo-yih/YEshall not beלְךָle/KHAunto youאֵלelGodאַחֵרa/CHERotherעַל־פָּנָי׃al-pa/NAYbefore Me

    Thou shalt have no other God before me.

36. 36

    לֹא־תַעֲשֶׂהlo-ta/a/SEyou shall not makeלְךָle/KHAunto youפֶסֶלFE/selany graven imageוְכׇל־תְּמוּנָהve/KHOL-te/mu/NAor any likenessאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof that whichבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alaboveוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERor thatבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the earthמִתָּחַת׃mit/TA/chatbeneath

    Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing in heaven above, or things which are in the earth beneath.

37. 37

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲבִינָדִיA/VI/na/diAbinadiאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themהַעֲשִׂיתֶםha/a/si/TEMhave you doneכׇּל־אֵלֶּהkol-EL/leall theseאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youלֹאlonayלֹאlonotעֲשִׂיתֶםa/si/TEMyou didוְהַאִםve/ha/IMand have youלִמַּדְתֶּםlim/mad/TEMtaughtאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםkol-had/de/va/RIMall the thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youלֹאlonayלֹאlonotלִמַּדְתֶּם׃lim/mad/TEMyou taught

    Now Abinadi said unto them, Have ye done all this? I say unto you, Nay, ye have not. And have ye taught this people that they should do all these things? I say unto you, Nay, ye have not.
