   וְכֵןve/KHENand thusנוּכַלnu/KHALwe canלִרְאוֹתlir/OTbeholdאֶת־שֶׁקֶרet-SHE/kerthe falsenessוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־מְנוֹדet-me/NODthe unsteadinessלְבַבle/VAVof the heartsבְּנֵי־הָאָדָםbe/NE-ha/a/DAMof the children of menאַףafyeaנִרְאֶהnir/Ewe can seeכִּי־יְהוָהki-Adonaithat Adonaiבְּחַסְדּוֹbe/chas/DOin his goodnessהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatאֵין־קֵץen-ketsinfiniteיְבָרֵךְye/va/REKHblessesוְיַצְלִיחַve/yats/LI/achand prosperאֶת־הַבּוֹטְחִיםet-hab/bot/CHIMthose who put their trustבּוֹ׃boin him

   And thus we can behold how false, and also the unsteadiness of the hearts of the children of men; yea, we can see that the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him.

   Yea, and we may see at the very time when he doth prosper his people, yea, in the increase of their fields, their flocks and their herds, and in gold, and in silver, and in all manner of precious things of every kind and art; sparing their lives, and delivering them out of the hands of their enemies; softening the hearts of their enemies that they should not declare wars against them; yea, and in fine, doing all things for the welfare and happiness of his people; yea, then is the time that they do harden their hearts, and do forget the Lord their God, and do trample under their feet the Holy One—yea, and this because of their ease, and their exceedingly great prosperity.

   וְכֵןve/KHENand thusנִרְאֶהnir/Ewe seeכִּיkithatאִם־לֹאim-loexceptיְיַסֵּרye/yas/SERchastensיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֶת־עַמּוֹet-am/MOhis peopleבְּצָרוֹתbe/tsa/ROTwith afflictionsרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyאַףafyeaאִם־לֹאim-loexceptיִפְקְדֵםyif/ke/DEMhe visits themבְּמָוֶתbe/MA/vetwith deathוּבְחִתָּהu/ve/chit/TAand with terrorוּבְרָעָבu/ve/ra/AVand with famineוּבְכׇל־מִינֵיu/ve/KHOL-mi/NEand with all mannerדֶבֶרDE/verof pestilenceלֹאlonotיִזְכְּרוּהוּ׃yiz/ke/ru/HUthey will remember him

   And thus we see that except the Lord doth chasten his people with many afflictions, yea, except he doth visit them with death and with terror, and with famine and with all manner of pestilence, they will not remember him.

   O how foolish, and how vain, and how evil, and devilish, and how quick to do iniquity, and how slow to do good, are the children of men; yea, how quick to hearken unto the words of the evil one, and to set their hearts upon the vain things of the world!

   הֵןhenyeaמַה־מְמַהֲרִיםma-me/ma/ha/RIMhow quickלְהִתְנַשֵּׂאle/hit/nas/SEto be lifted upבְגַאֲוָהve/ga/a/VAin prideאַףafyeaמַה־מְמַהֲרִיםma-me/ma/ha/RIMhow quickלְהִתְהַלֵּלle/hit/hal/LELto boastוְלַעֲשׂוֹתve/la/a/SOTand doכׇּל־מִינֵיkol-mi/NEall mannerעָוֹןa/VONof iniquityוּמַה־מְאַחֲרִיםu/MA-me/a/cha/RIMand how slowהֵםhemare theyלִזְכֹּרliz/KORto rememberאֶת־יְהוָהet-AdonaiAdonaiאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godוּלְהַאֲזִיןu/le/ha/a/ZINand to give earלַעֲצָתוֹla/a/tsa/TOunto his counselsאַףafyeaמַה־מְאַחֲרִיםma-me/a/cha/RIMhow slowלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto walkבְּאׇרְחוֹתbe/or/CHOTin the pathsחׇכְמָה׃chokh/MAof wisdom

   Yea, how quick to be lifted up in pride; yea, how quick to boast, and do all manner of that which is iniquity; and how slow are they to remember the Lord their God, and to give ear unto his counsels, yea, how slow to walk in wisdom’s paths!

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלֹאlonotיַחְפְּצוּyach/pe/TSUthey desireכִּי־יְהוָהki-Adonaithat Adonaiאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoבְּרָאָםbe/ra/AMcreated themיִמְשֹׁלyim/SHOLshould ruleוְיִמְלֹךְve/yim/LOKHand reignעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMover themעַלalnotwithstandingחַסְדּוֹchas/DOhis goodnessהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatוְרַחֲמָיוve/ra/cha/MAYVand his mercyעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMtowards themיָשִׂימוּya/SI/muthey setלְאַיִןle/A/yinat naughtאֶת־עֲצָתוֹet-a/tsa/TOhis counselsוְלֹאve/LOand notיֹאבוּyo/VUthey willכִּיkithatיִהְיֶהyih/YEhe should beלָהֶםla/HEMto themלְמוֹרֶה׃le/mo/REa guide

   Behold, they do not desire that the Lord their God, who hath created them, should rule and reign over them; notwithstanding his great goodness and his mercy towards them, they do set at naught his counsels, and they will not that he should be their guide.

   הוֹיhoyOמַה־גָּדוֹלma-ga/DOLhow greatהוּאhuisאֶפֶסE/festhe nothingnessבְּנֵי־הָאָדָםbe/NE-ha/a/DAMof the children of menאַףafyeaקַלִּיםkal/LIMlessהֵםhemthey areמֵעֲפַרme/a/FARthan the dustהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsof the earth

   O how great is the nothingness of the children of men; yea, even they are less than the dust of the earth.

   כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdעֲפַרa/FARthe dustהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the earthיִתְנוֹעֵעַyit/no/E/amovesהֵנָּהHEN/nahitherוָהֵנָּהva/HEN/naand thitherלְהֵחָלֵקle/he/cha/LEKto the dividingלַחֲלָקִיםla/cha/la/KIMasunderבְּמִצְוַתbe/mits/VATat the commandאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuof our Godהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatוַאֲשֶׁר־לְעוֹלָם׃va/a/SHER-le/o/LAMand everlasting

   For behold, the dust of the earth moveth hither and thither, to the dividing asunder, at the command of our great and everlasting God.

   אַףafyeaהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלְקוֹלוֹle/ko/LOat his voiceיִרְעֲשׁוּyir/a/SHUtrembleוְיִרְגְּזוּve/yir/ge/ZUand quakeהַגְּבָעוֹתhag/ge/va/OTthe hillsוְהֶהָרִים׃ve/he/ha/RIMand the mountains

   Yea, behold at his voice do the hills and the mountains tremble and quake.

10. 10

    וּבְכֹחַu/ve/KHO/achand by the powerקוֹלוֹko/LOof his voiceיִשָּׁבֵרוּyish/sha/ve/RUthey are broken upוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand becomeלְמִישׁוֹרle/mi/SHORsmoothאַףafyeaכְּעֵמֶק׃ke/E/mekeven like unto a valley

    And by the power of his voice they are broken up, and become smooth, yea, even like unto a valley.

11. 11

    הֵןhenyeaבְּכֹחַbe/KHO/achby the powerקוֹלוֹko/LOof his voiceתִּרְעַדtir/ADshakesכׇּל־הָאָרֶץ׃kol-ha/A/retsthe whole earth

    Yea, by the power of his voice doth the whole earth shake;

    הֵןhenyeaבְּכֹחַbe/KHO/achby the powerקוֹלוֹko/LOof his voiceיִתְרוֹפְפוּyit/rof/FUdo rockהַמּוֹסָדוֹתham/mo/sa/DOTthe foundationsעַד־הַתָּוֶךְ׃ad-hat/TA/vekhto the very center

    Yea, by the power of his voice, do the foundations rock, even to the very center.

13. 13

    הֵןhenyeaוְאִם־יֹאמַרve/IM-yo/MARand if he sayלָאָרֶץla/A/retsto the earthמוּשִׁיmu/SHImoveוּמָשָׁה׃u/ma/SHAit is moved

    Yea, and if he say unto the earth—Move—it is moved.

14. 14

    הֵןhenyeaאִם־יֹאמַרim-yo/MARif he sayלָאָרֶץla/A/retsto the earthשׁוּבִיSHU/viyou shall go backלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיֶאֱרַךְye/e/RAKHit lengthen outהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayשָׁעוֹתsha/OThoursרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyוְנַעֲשָׂה׃ve/na/a/SAit is done

    Yea, if he say unto the earth—Thou shalt go back, that it lengthen out the day for many hours—it is done;

    וְכֵןve/KHENand thusכִּדְבָרוֹkid/va/ROaccording to his wordתָּשׁוּבta/SHUVgoes backהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוְנִרְאֶהve/nir/Eand it appearsלָאָדָםla/a/DAMunto manכִּיkithatהַשֶּׁמֶשׁhash/SHE/meshthe sunעוֹמֵדo/MEDstands stillאַףafyeaוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdכֵּןkensoהוּאhuthis isכִּיkiforאׇמְנָםom/NAMsurelyהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthהִיאhiit isהַנָּעָהhan/na/Athat movesוְלֹאve/LOand notהַשֶּׁמֶשׁ׃hash/SHE/meshthe sun

    And thus, according to his word the earth goeth back, and it appeareth unto man that the sun standeth still; yea, and behold, this is so; for surely it is the earth that moveth and not the sun.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdגַםgamalsoאִם־יֹאמַרim-yo/MARif he sayלְמֵיle/MEto the watersתְּהוֹםte/HOMof the deepרַבָּהrab/BAgreatחִרְבוּchir/VUbe dried upוְנַעֲשָׂה׃ve/na/a/SAit is done

    And behold, also, if he say unto the waters of the great deep—Be thou dried up—it is done.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאִם־יֹאמַרim-yo/MARif he sayלָהָרla/HARunto the mountainהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisהִתְנַשֵּׂאhit/nas/SEbe raised upוַעֲבֹרva/a/VORand come overוּנְפֹלu/ne/FOLand fallעַל־הָעִירal-ha/IRupon the cityהַהִיאha/HIthatוְתִקָּבֵרve/tik/ka/VERthat it be buried upהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdנַעֲשָׂה׃na/a/SAit is done

    Behold, if he say unto this mountain—Be thou raised up, and come over and fall upon that city, that it be buried up—behold it is done.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאִם־יִטְמֹןim-yit/MONif hide upאִישׁisha manמַטְמוֹןmat/MONa treasureבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the earthוְיֹאמַרve/yo/MARand shall sayיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiיְהִיye/HIlet it beאָרוּרa/RURaccursedבַּעֲוֹןba/a/VONbecause of the iniquityהַטּוֹמֵןhat/to/MENof him who hid upאוֹתוֹo/TOitהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beאָרוּר׃a/RURaccursed

    And behold, if a man hide up a treasure in the earth, and the Lord shall say—Let it be accursed, because of the iniquity of him who hath hid it up—behold, it shall be accursed.

19. 19

    וְאִם־יֹאמַרve/IM-yo/MARand if shall sayיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiהֱיֵהhe/YEbeאָרוּרa/RURaccursedלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notיִמְצָאֲךָyim/tsa/a/KHAshall find youאִישׁishany manמֵהַיּוֹםme/hay/YOMfrom the timeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְעַד־עוֹלָםve/AD-o/LAMhenceforth and foreverהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלֹאlonoיַשִּׂיגֶנּוּyas/si/gen/NUgets itאִישׁishmanמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAhenceforthוְעַד־עוֹלָם׃ve/AD-o/LAMand forever

    And if the Lord shall say—Be thou accursed, that no man shall find thee from this time henceforth and forever—behold, no man getteth it henceforth and forever.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאִם־יֹאמַרim-yo/MARif shall sayיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiלְאִישׁle/ISHunto a manבַּעֲוֹנוֹתֶיךָba/a/vo/no/te/KHAbecause of your iniquitiesתִּהְיֶהtih/YEyou shall beאָרוּרa/RURaccursedעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMforeverוְנַעֲשָׂה׃ve/na/a/SAit shall be done

    And behold, if the Lord shall say unto a man—Because of thine iniquities, thou shalt be accursed forever—it shall be done.

21. 21

    וְאִם־יֹאמַרve/IM-yo/MARand if shall sayיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiבַּעֲוֹנוֹתֶיךָba/a/vo/no/te/KHAbecause of your iniquitiesתִּכָּרֵתtik/ka/RETyou shall be cut offמִלְּפָנַיmil/le/fa/NAYfrom my presenceיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEhe will causeכִּיkithatיִהְיֶהyih/YEit shall beכֵן׃khenso

    And if the Lord shall say—Because of thine iniquities thou shalt be cut off from my presence—he will cause that it shall be so.

22. 22

    וְאוֹיve/OYand woלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERunto him to whomיֹאמַרyo/MARhe shall sayלוֹloto himזֹאתzotthisכִּיkithatיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beלְעֹשֵׂהle/o/SEunto him that will doהָעָוֹןha/a/VONiniquityוְלֹא־יוּכַלve/LO-yu/KHALand he cannotלְהִוָּשֵׁעַle/hiv/va/SHE/abe savedלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִוָּשְׁעוּyiv/va/she/Umight be savedבְּנֵי־הָאָדָםbe/NE-ha/a/DAMmenהֻגְּדָהhug/ge/DAhas been declaredהַתְּשׁוּבָה׃hat/te/shu/VArepentance

    And wo unto him to whom he shall say this, for it shall be unto him that will do iniquity, and he cannot be saved; therefore, for this cause, that men might be saved, hath repentance been declared.

23. 23

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַשְׁרֵיash/REblessed areהַשָּׁבִיםhash/sha/VIMthey who will repentוְהַמַּקְשִׁיבִיםve/ham/mak/shi/VIMand hearkenלְקוֹלle/KOLunto the voiceיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godכִּיkiforהֵםhemtheyיִוָּשֵׁעוּ׃yiv/va/she/Ushall be saved

    Therefore, blessed are they who will repent and hearken unto the voice of the Lord their God; for these are they that shall be saved.

24. 24

    וְיִתֵּןve/yit/TENand may grantהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבִּמְלוֹאוֹbim/lo/Oin his fulnessהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatכִּיkithatיוּבְאוּyuv/Umight be broughtבְנֵיve/NEthe childrenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menלִתְשׁוּבָהlit/shu/VAunto repentanceוּלְמַעֲשִׂיםu/le/ma/a/SIMand to worksטוֹבִיםto/VIMgoodלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיוּשְׁבוּyush/VUthey might be restoredלְחֵןle/CHENunto graceתַּחַתTA/chatforחֵןchengraceכְּפִיke/FIaccording toמַעֲשֵׂיהֶם׃ma/a/se/HEMtheir works

    And may God grant, in his great fulness, that men might be brought unto repentance and good works, that they might be restored unto grace for grace, according to their works.

25. 25

    וְחָפַצְתִּיve/cha/FATS/tiand I wouldכִּיkithatיִוָּשְׁעוּyiv/va/she/Umight be savedכׇּל־בְּנֵיkol-be/NEall the childrenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menאַךְakhbutקָרָאנוּka/ra/NUwe readכִּיkithatבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLthe greatוְהָאַחֲרוֹןve/ha/a/cha/RONand the lastיֵשׁyeshthere are someאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיֻשְׁלְכוּyush/le/KHUshall be cast outאַףafyeaאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִכָּרְתוּyik/ka/re/TUshall be cut offמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEfrom the presenceיְהוָה׃Adonaiof Adonai

    And I would that all men might be saved. But we read that in the great and last day there are some who shall be cast out, yea, who shall be cast off from the presence of the Lord;

26. 26

    הֵןhenyeaאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִנָּתְנוּyin/na/te/NUshall be consignedלְאֻמְלָלוּתle/um/la/LUTto a state of miseryעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMendlessלְמַלֹּאתle/mal/LOTfulfillingאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאוֹמְרִיםha/om/RIMwhich sayעֹשֵׂיo/SEthey that didהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodיִהְיוּyih/YUthere shall beלָהֶםla/HEMto themחַיֵּי־עוֹלָםchay/YE-o/LAMeverlasting lifeוְעֹשֵׂיve/o/SEand they that didהָרָעha/RAevilיִהְיוּyih/YUthere shall beלָהֶםla/HEMto themדִּרְאוֹןdir/ONdamnationעוֹלָםo/LAMeverlastingוְכֵןve/KHENand thusהוּאhuit isאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

    Yea, who shall be consigned to a state of endless misery, fulfilling the words which say: They that have done good shall have everlasting life; and they that have done evil shall have everlasting damnation. And thus it is. Amen.
