   And again, I, Alma, having been commanded of God that I should take Amulek and go forth and preach again unto this people, or the people who were in the city of Ammonihah, it came to pass as I began to preach unto them, they began to contend with me, saying:

   מִיmiwhoאַתָּהat/TAare youהֲתַחְשֹׁבha/tach/SHOVdo you supposeכִּיkithatנַאֲמִיןna/a/MINwe shall believeלְעֵדוּתle/e/DUTthe testimonyאִישׁishof a manאֶחָדe/CHADoneגַּם־כִּיgam-kialthoughיִדְרֹשׁyid/ROSHhe should preachאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuunto usכִּיkithatהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthתַּעֲבֹר׃ta/a/VORshould pass away

   Who art thou? Suppose ye that we shall believe the testimony of one man, although he should preach unto us that the earth should pass away?

   וְהֵםve/HEMand theyלֹא־הֵבִינוּlo-he/VI/nuunderstood notאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUspokeכִּי־לֹאki-lofor notיָדְעוּya/de/Uthey knewכִּיkithatהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthתַּעֲבֹר׃ta/a/VORshould pass away

   Now they understood not the words which they spake; for they knew not that the earth should pass away.

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidגַםgammoreoverלֹאlowe will notנַאֲמִיןna/a/MINbelieveלִדְבָרֶיךָlid/va/RE/khayour wordsאִםimthoughתִּנָּבֵאtin/na/VEyou should prophesyכִּיkithatהָעִירha/IRcityהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAgreatהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisתִּשָּׁמֵדtish/sha/MEDshould be destroyedבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin a dayאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

   And they said also: We will not believe thy words if thou shouldst prophesy that this great city should be destroyed in one day.

   וְהֵםve/HEMand theyלֹא־יָדְעוּlo-ya/de/Uknew notכִּיkithatיוּכַלyu/KHALcouldאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTdoנִפְלָאוֹתnif/la/OTmarvelous worksכָּאֵלֶּהka/EL/lesuch as theseכִּיkiforהָיוּha/YUthey wereעַםama peopleקְשֵׁה־לֵבke/SHE-levhard-heartedוְעַםve/AMand a peopleקְשֵׁה־עֹרֶף׃ke/SHE-O/refstiffnecked

   Now they knew not that God could do such marvelous works, for they were a hard-hearted and a stiffnecked people.

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidמִיmiwhoהוּאhuisאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlowill notיִשְׁלַחyish/LACHsendשִׁלְטוֹןshil/TONauthorityרַקrakmore thanאִישׁisha manאֶחָדe/CHADoneבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongהָעָם־הַזֶּהha/AM-haz/ZEthis peopleלְהַגִּידle/hag/GIDto declareלָהֶםla/HEMunto themאֶת־אֱמֶתet-e/METthe truthהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMof thingsהַגְּדֹלִיםhag/ge/do/LIMgreatוְהַנִּפְלָאִיםve/han/nif/la/IMand marvelousהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lesuch

   And they said: Who is God, that sendeth no more authority than one man among this people, to declare unto them the truth of such great and marvelous things?

   וַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUand stood forthלִשְׁלֹחַlish/LO/achto layיְדֵיהֶםye/de/HEMtheir handsבִּיbion meוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEbut beholdלֹאlothey did notעָשׂוּa/SUdo itוָאֶעֱמֹדva/e/e/MODand I stoodבְּעֹזbe/OZwith boldnessלְהַגִּידle/hag/GIDto declareלָהֶםla/HEMunto themאַףafyeaהֵעַדְתִּיhe/ad/TII testifiedבָהֶםva/HEMagainst themבְּעֹזbe/OZboldlyלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And they stood forth to lay their hands on me; but behold, they did not. And I stood with boldness to declare unto them, yea, I did boldly testify unto them, saying:

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהַדּוֹרhad/DORO you generationהָרָשָׁעha/ra/SHAwickedוְהַנַּעֲוֶהve/han/na/a/VEand perverseאֵיךְekhhowשְׁכַחְתֶּםshe/khach/TEMhave you forgottenאֶת־מָסֹרֶתet-ma/SO/retthe traditionאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםa/vo/te/KHEMof your fathersאַףafyeaמַה־מַּהֵרma-ma/HERhow soonשְׁכַחְתֶּםshe/khach/TEMyou forgotאֶת־מִצְוֹתet-mits/VOTthe commandmentsאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMof God

   Behold, O ye wicked and perverse generation, how have ye forgotten the tradition of your fathers; yea, how soon ye have forgotten the commandments of God.

   הֲלֹאha/LOdo you notתִזְכְּרוּtiz/ke/RUrememberכִּיkithatאָבִינוּa/VI/nuour fatherלֶחִיLE/chiLehiהוּצָאhu/TSAwas brought outמִירוּשָׁלַיִםmI/ru/sha/LA/yimof Jerusalemבְּיַד־אֱלֹהִיםbe/YAD-e/lo/HIMby the hand of Godהֲלֹאha/LOdo you notתִזְכְּרוּtiz/ke/RUrememberכִּיkithatכֻלָּםkhul/LAMthey were allנִנְהֲגוּnin/ha/GUledעַל־יָדוֹal-ya/DOby HimדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhthroughהַמִּדְבָּר׃ham/mid/BARthe wilderness

   Do ye not remember that our father, Lehi, was brought out of Jerusalem by the hand of God? Do ye not remember that they were all led by him through the wilderness?

    וְהַשְׁכַחְתֶּםve/hash/khach/TEMand have you forgottenכֹּהkosoמַהֵרma/HERsoonכַּמָּהkam/MAhow manyפְעָמִיםfe/a/MIMtimesהִצִּילhits/TSILHe deliveredאֶת־אֲבוֹתֵינוּet-a/vo/TE/nuour fathersמִיַּדmiy/YADout of the handsאֹיְבֵיהֶםoy/ve/HEMof their enemiesוְשָׁמַרve/sha/MARand preservedאוֹתָםo/TAMthemמֵהִשָּׁמֵדme/hish/sha/MEDfrom being destroyedאַףafevenבְּיַדbe/YADby the handsאֲחֵיהֶם׃a/che/HEMof their own brethren

    And have ye forgotten so soon how many times he delivered our fathers out of the hands of their enemies, and preserved them from being destroyed, even by the hands of their own brethren?

    הֵןhenyeaוְלוּלֵאve/lu/LEand had it not been forכֹחוֹkho/CHOHis powerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֵיןenthere is noneכָּמֹהוּka/MO/hulike itוְחַסְדּוֹve/chas/DOand His mercyוְאֶרֶךְve/E/rekhand the long-sufferingאַפּוֹap/POof His angerאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nutowards usהָיִינוּha/YI/nuwe should have beenנִכְרָתִיםnikh/ra/TIMcut offבְּאֵיןbe/ENwithoutמָנוֹסma/NOSescapeמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEfrom off the faceהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAof the earthהַרְבֵּהhar/BElongלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָעֵתha/ETthe timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוְאוּלַיve/u/LAYand perchanceהוּבַלְנוּhu/val/NUbeen consignedאֶל־אֻמְלָלוּתel-um/la/LUTto a state of miseryוָיָגוֹןva/ya/GONand woeאֵין־קֵץ׃en-ketsendless

    Yea, and if it had not been for his matchless power, and his mercy, and his long-suffering towards us, we should unavoidably have been cut off from the face of the earth long before this period of time, and perhaps been consigned to a state of endless misery and woe.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdעַתָּהat/TAnowאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכִּי־הוּאki-huthat Heמְצַוֶּהme/tsav/VEcommandsאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouלָשׁוּבla/SHUVto repentוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand exceptתָשׁוּבוּta/shu/VUyou repentלֹאlonotתוּכְלוּtukh/LUyou canלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverלָרֶשֶׁתla/RE/shetinheritאֶת־מַלְכוּתet-mal/KHUTthe kingdomהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMof Godוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdזֹאתzotthisאֵינָהּe/NAis notהַכֹּלhak/KOLallכִּי־צִוָּהki-tsiv/VAHe commandedאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouלָשׁוּבla/SHUVto repentאוֹoorהַשְׁמֵדhash/MEDutterlyיַשְׁמִידyash/MIDhe will destroyאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמֵעַלme/ALfrom offפְּנֵיpe/NEthe faceהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAof the earthאַףafyeaיִפְקֹדyif/KODHe will visitאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבְּאַפּוֹbe/ap/POin His angerוּבַחֲרוֹןu/va/cha/RONand in the fiercenessאַפּוֹap/POof His angerלֹאlonotיָשִׁיב׃ya/SHIVwill He turn away

    Behold, now I say unto you that he commandeth you to repent; and except ye repent, ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God. But behold, this is not all—he has commanded you to repent, or he will utterly destroy you from off the face of the earth; yea, he will visit you in his anger, and in his fierce anger he will not turn away.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהֲלֹאha/LOdo you notתִזְכְּרוּtiz/ke/RUrememberאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרa/SHER-dib/BERwhich He spokeאֶל־לֶחִיel-LE/chiunto Lehiלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERinasmuch asתִּשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou shall keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתַיet-mits/vo/TAYmy commandmentsתַּצְלִיחוּtats/li/CHUyou shall prosperבָאָרֶץva/A/retsin the landוְעוֹדve/ODand againנֶאֱמַרne/e/MARit is saidכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERinasmuch asלֹאloyou will notתִשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUkeepאֶת־מִצְוֹתַיet-mits/vo/TAYmy commandmentsתִּכָּרְתוּtik/ka/re/TUyou shall be cut offמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEfrom the presenceיְהוָה׃Adonaiof Adonai

    Behold, do ye not remember the words which he spake unto Lehi, saying that: Inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper in the land? And again it is said that: Inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from the presence of the Lord.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowחָפַצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiI wouldכִּיkithatתִזְכְּרוּtiz/ke/RUyou should rememberכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERthat inasmuch asהַלָּמָנִיםhal/La/ma/NIMthe Lamanitesלֹאlohave notשָׁמְרוּsha/me/RUkeptאֶת־מִצְוֹתet-mits/VOTthe commandmentsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godנִכְרְתוּnikh/re/TUthey have been cut offמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEfrom the presenceיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowרֹאִיםro/IMseeאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweכִּיkithatדְבַר־יְהוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of Adonaiנֶאֱמַןne/e/MANhas been verifiedבַּדָּבָרbad/da/VARin the thingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְהַלָּמָנִיםve/hal/La/ma/NIMand the Lamanitesנִכְרְתוּnikh/re/TUhave been cut offמִלְּפָנָיוmil/le/fa/NAYVfrom His presenceמֵרֵאשִׁיתme/re/SHITfrom the beginningפִּשְׁעֵיהֶםpish/e/HEMof their transgressionsבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/A/retsin the land

    Now I would that ye should remember, that inasmuch as the Lamanites have not kept the commandments of God, they have been cut off from the presence of the Lord. Now we see that the word of the Lord has been verified in this thing, and the Lamanites have been cut off from his presence, from the beginning of their transgressions in the land.

15. 15

    אַךְakhneverthelessאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכִּיkithatיֵקַלye/KALit shall be tolerableלָהֶםla/HEMfor themיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreבְּיוֹםbe/YOMat the dayהַמִּשְׁפָּטham/mish/PATof judgmentמִלָּכֶםmil/la/KHEMthan for youאִםimifתַּעַמְדוּta/am/DUyou remainבַחֲטָאֵיכֶםva/cha/ta/e/KHEMin your sinsהֵןhenyeaוְאַףve/AFand evenיֵקַלye/KALit shall be tolerableלָהֶםla/HEMfor themיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreבַּחַיִּיםba/chay/YIMin the lifeהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseמִלָּכֶםmil/la/KHEMthan for youאִם־לֹאim-loexceptתָשׁוּבוּ׃ta/shu/VUyou repent

    Nevertheless I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for them in the day of judgment than for you, if ye remain in your sins, yea, and even more tolerable for them in this life than for you, except ye repent.

16. 16

    כִּיkiforהַבְטָחוֹתhav/ta/CHOTpromisesרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyנִמְשְׁכוּnim/she/KHUhave been extendedאֶל־הַלָּמָנִיםel-Hal/la/ma/NIMunto the Lamanitesכִּיkiforבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofמָסֹרוֹתma/so/ROTthe traditionsאֲבוֹתָםa/vo/TAMof their fathersעָמְדוּa/me/DUthat caused them to remainבְּסִכְלוּתָםbe/sikh/lu/TAMin their state of ignoranceעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiיְרַחֵםye/ra/CHEMwill be mercifulעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themוְיַאֲרִיךְve/ya/a/RIKHand will prolongאֶת־יְמֵיהֶםet-ye/me/HEMtheir existenceבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/A/retsin the land

    For there are many promises which are extended to the Lamanites; for it is because of the traditions of their fathers that caused them to remain in their state of ignorance; therefore the Lord will be merciful unto them and prolong their existence in the land.

17. 17

    וּבְעֵתu/ve/ETand at a timeמָהmasomeיֻבְאוּyuv/Uthey will be broughtלְהַאֲמִיןle/ha/a/MINto believeבִּדְבָרוֹbid/va/ROin His wordוְלָדַעַתve/la/DA/atand to knowאֶת־שֶׁקֶרet-SHE/kerof the incorrectnessמָסֹרוֹתma/so/ROTof the traditionsאֲבוֹתָםa/vo/TAMof their fathersוְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyמֵהֶםme/HEMof themיִוָּשְׁעוּyiv/va/she/Uwill be savedכִּי־יְהוָהki-Adonaifor Adonaiיְרַחֵםye/ra/CHEMwill be mercifulעַל־כׇּל־הַקֹּרְאִיםal-kol-hak/kor/IMunto all who callבִּשְׁמוֹ׃bish/MOon His name

    And at some period of time they will be brought to believe in his word, and to know of the incorrectness of the traditions of their fathers; and many of them will be saved, for the Lord will be merciful unto all who call on his name.

18. 18

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youאִםimifתַּעַמְדוּta/am/DUyou persistבְרִשְׁעַתְכֶםve/rish/at/KHEMin your wickednessלֹאlonotיַאֲרִיכוּya/a/RI/khushall be prolongedיְמֵיכֶםye/me/KHEMyour daysבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landכִּיkiforהַלָּמָנִיםhal/La/ma/NIMthe Lamanitesיִשָּׁלְחוּyish/sha/le/CHUshall be sentעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notתָשׁוּבוּta/shu/VUyou repentיָבֹאוּya/VO/uthey shall comeבְּעֵתbe/ETat a timeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhenלֹאlonotתֵדְעוּted/Uyou knowוְנִפְקַדְתֶּםve/nif/kad/TEMand you shall be visitedבְּכָלָהbe/kha/LAwith utter destructionוְיִהְיֶהve/yih/YEand it shall beכְּחָרוֹןke/cha/RONaccording to the fiercenessאַףafof the angerיְהוָה׃Adonaiof Adonai

    But behold, I say unto you that if ye persist in your wickedness that your days shall not be prolonged in the land, for the Lamanites shall be sent upon you; and if ye repent not they shall come in a time when you know not, and ye shall be visited with utter destruction; and it shall be according to the fierce anger of the Lord.

19. 19

    כִּי־לֹאki-lofor He will notיִסְבֹּלyis/BOLsufferאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouכִּיkithatתִחְיוּtich/YUyou shall liveבַעֲוֹנֹתֵיכֶםva/a/vo/no/te/KHEMin your iniquitiesלְהַשְׁחִיתle/hash/CHITto destroyאֶת־עַמּוֹet-am/MOHis peopleאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youלֹאlonayכִּי־יֹאבֶהki-yo/VEfor He would ratherלִסְבֹּלlis/BOLsufferכִּיkithatהַלָּמָנִיםhal/La/ma/NIMthe Lamanitesיַשְׁמִידוּyash/MI/dushall destroyאֶת־כׇּל־עַמּוֹet-kol-am/MOall His peopleהַנִּקְרָאִיםhan/nik/ra/IMwho are calledעַם־נֶפִיam-NE/fithe people of Nephiאִם־יוּכַלim-yu/KHALif it were possibleלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beכִּיkithatיִפְּלוּyip/pe/LUthey could fallבַחֲטָאִיםva/cha/ta/IMinto sinsוּפְשָׁעִיםu/fe/sha/IMand transgressionsאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterקַבֵּלkab/BELhaving hadאוֹרorlightכֹּהkosoרַבravmuchוְדַעַתve/DA/atand knowledgeכֹּהkosoרַבָּהrab/BAmuchמֵיְהוָהme-Adonaiof Adonaiאֱלֹהֵיהֶם׃e/lo/he/HEMtheir God

    For he will not suffer you that ye shall live in your iniquities, to destroy his people. I say unto you, Nay; he would rather suffer that the Lamanites might destroy all his people who are called the people of Nephi, if it were possible that they could fall into sins and transgressions, after having had so much light and so much knowledge given unto them of the Lord their God;

    Yea, after having been such a highly favored people of the Lord; yea, after having been favored above every other nation, kindred, tongue, or people; after having had all things made known unto them, according to their desires, and their faith, and prayers, of that which has been, and which is, and which is to come;

    Having been visited by the Spirit of God; having conversed with angels, and having been spoken unto by the voice of the Lord; and having the spirit of prophecy, and the spirit of revelation, and also many gifts, the gift of speaking with tongues, and the gift of preaching, and the gift of the Holy Ghost, and the gift of translation;

    Yea, and after having been delivered of God out of the land of Jerusalem, by the hand of the Lord; having been saved from famine, and from sickness, and all manner of diseases of every kind; and they having waxed strong in battle, that they might not be destroyed; having been brought out of bondage time after time, and having been kept and preserved until now; and they have been prospered until they are rich in all manner of things—

23. 23

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youאִםimthat ifהָעָם־הַזֶּהha/AM-haz/ZEthis peopleאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho haveקִבֵּלkib/BELreceivedבְּרָכוֹתbe/ra/KHOTblessingsכֹּהkosoרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the handיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiיַעַבְרוּya/av/RUshall transgressנֶגֶדNE/gedcontrary toהָאוֹרha/ORthe lightוְהַדַּעַתve/had/DA/atand knowledgeאֲשֶׁר־יֵשׁa/SHER-yeshwhich they doלָהֶםla/HEMhaveאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youאִם־יִהְיֶהim-yih/YEthat if it shall beכֵןkhensoאִם־יִפְּלוּim-yip/pe/LUthat they fallבְפֶשַׁעve/FE/shainto transgressionיֵקַלye/KALit would be tolerableהַרְבֵּהhar/BEfarיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreלַלָּמָנִיםlal/La/ma/NIMfor the Lamanitesמֵהֶם׃me/HEMthan for them

    And now behold I say unto you, that if this people, who have received so many blessings from the hand of the Lord, should transgress contrary to the light and knowledge which they do have, I say unto you that if this be the case, that if they should fall into transgression, it would be far more tolerable for the Lamanites than for them.

24. 24

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהַבְטָחוֹתhav/ta/CHOTthe promisesיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiנִמְשְׁכוּnim/she/KHUare extendedאֶל־הַלָּמָנִיםel-Hal/la/ma/NIMto the Lamanitesוְלֹאve/LObut notאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMunto youאִם־תַּעַבְרוּim-ta/av/RUif you transgressכִּיkiforהֲלֹאha/LOhas notהִבְטִיחַhiv/TI/achpromisedיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiבְּמֵישָׁרִיםbe/me/sha/RIMexpresslyוְגָזַרve/ga/ZARand decreedבְּחׇזְקָהbe/choz/KAfirmlyכִּי־אִםki-imthat ifתַּמְרוּtam/RUyou rebelבוֹvoagainst Himהִשָּׁמֵדhish/sha/MEDutterlyתִּשָּׁמְדוּtish/sha/me/DUyou shall be destroyedמֵעַלme/ALfrom offפְּנֵיpe/NEthe faceהָאֲדָמָה׃ha/a/da/MAof the earth

    For behold, the promises of the Lord are extended to the Lamanites, but they are not unto you if ye transgress; for has not the Lord expressly promised and firmly decreed, that if ye will rebel against him that ye shall utterly be destroyed from off the face of the earth?

25. 25

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofזֹאתzotthisלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat you may notתִּשָּׁמְדוּtish/sha/me/DUbe destroyedשָׁלַחsha/LACHsentיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֶת־מַלְאָכוֹet-mal/a/KHOHis angelלִפְקֹדlif/KODto visitרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵעַמּוֹme/am/MOof His peopleלְהַגִּידle/hag/GIDdeclaringלָהֶםla/HEMunto themכִּיkithatיֵלְכוּyel/KHUthey must go forthוְיִזְעֲקוּve/yiz/a/KUand cryבְּכֹחַbe/KHO/achmightilyאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMunto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשׁוּבוּSHU/vurepent youכִּיkiforקׇרְבָהkor/VAis at handמַלְכוּתmal/KHUTthe kingdomהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimof heaven

    And now for this cause, that ye may not be destroyed, the Lord has sent his angel to visit many of his people, declaring unto them that they must go forth and cry mightily unto this people, saying: Repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is nigh at hand;

26. 26

    וְלֹאve/LOand notיָמִיםya/MIMdaysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵהֵנָּהme/HEN/nahenceיָבֹאya/VOshall comeבֶּן־אֱלֹהִיםben-E/lo/HIMthe Son of Godבִּכְבוֹדוֹbikh/vo/DOin His gloryוּכְבוֹדוֹu/khe/vo/DOand His gloryיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beכִּכְבוֹדkikh/VODthe gloryבֵּן־יָחִידben-Ya/CHIDof the Only Begottenלְאָבִיוle/A/VIVof the Fatherמָלֵאma/LEfullחֵןchenof graceוָצֶדֶקva/TSE/dekequityוֶאֱמֶתve/e/METand truthמָלֵאma/LEfullאֹרֶךְO/rekhof the patienceרוּחַRU/achof spiritוְרַחֲמִיםve/ra/cha/MIMmercyוְאֶרֶךְ־אַפַּיִםve/E/rekh-ap/PA/yimand long-sufferingמַהֵרma/HERquickלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearזַעֲקַתza/a/KATthe criesעַמּוֹam/MOof His peopleוְלַעֲנוֹתve/la/a/NOTand to answerתְּפִלָּתָם׃te/fil/la/TAMtheir prayers

    And not many days hence the Son of God shall come in his glory; and his glory shall be the glory of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, equity, and truth, full of patience, mercy, and long-suffering, quick to hear the cries of his people and to answer their prayers.

27. 27

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdיָבֹאya/VOHe comesלִגְאֹלlig/OLto redeemאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthose whoיִטָּבְלוּyit/ta/ve/LUwill be baptizedלִתְשׁוּבָהlit/shu/VAunto repentanceבֶּאֱמוּנָהbe/e/mu/NAthrough faithבִשְׁמוֹ׃vish/MOon His name

    And behold, he cometh to redeem those who will be baptized unto repentance, through faith on his name.

28. 28

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהָכִינוּha/KHI/nuprepare youדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhthe wayיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiכִּיkiforקׇרְבָהkor/VAis at handהָעֵתha/ETthe timeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhenכׇּל־אִישׁkol-ishevery manיִקְצֹרyik/TSORshall reapשְׂכַרse/KHARa rewardמַעֲשָׂיוma/a/SAYVof his worksכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERaccording to that whichהָיָהha/YAhas beenאִם־הָיוּim-ha/YUif they have beenצַדִּיקִיםtsad/di/KIMrighteousיִקְצְרוּyik/tse/RUthey shall reapאֶת־יְשׁוּעַתet-ye/shu/ATthe salvationנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMof their soulsכְּכֹחַke/KHO/achaccording to the powerוּגְאֻלַּתu/ge/ul/LATand deliveranceיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aof JesusהַמָּשִׁיחַHam/ma/SHI/achChristוְאִםve/IMand ifהָיוּha/YUthey have beenרָעִיםra/IMevilיִקְצְרוּyik/tse/RUthey shall reapאֶת־דִּיןet-dinthe damnationנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMof their soulsכְּכֹחַke/KHO/achaccording to the powerוּשְׁבִיu/she/VIand captivationהַשָּׂטָן׃has/sa/TANof the devil

    Therefore, prepare ye the way of the Lord, for the time is at hand that all men shall reap a reward of their works, according to that which they have been—if they have been righteous they shall reap the salvation of their souls, according to the power and deliverance of Jesus Christ; and if they have been evil they shall reap the damnation of their souls, according to the power and captivation of the devil.

29. 29

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdזֶהzethis isקוֹלkolthe voiceהַמַּלְאָךְham/mal/AKHof the angelהַזּוֹעֵקhaz/zo/EKcryingאֶל־הָעָם׃el-ha/AMunto the people

    Now behold, this is the voice of the angel, crying unto the people.

30. 30

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאַחַיa/CHAYmy brethrenהַיְקָרִיםhay/ka/RIMbelovedכִּיkiforאַחַיa/CHAYmy brethrenאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areוּרְאוּיִיםu/re/u/YIMand worthyאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areלְהֵאָהֵבle/he/a/HEVto be belovedוּרְאוּיִיםu/re/u/YIMand worthyאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areלְהוֹצִיאle/ho/TSIto bring forthמַעֲשִׂיםma/a/SIMworksרְאוּיִיםre/u/YIMwhich are meetלַתְּשׁוּבָהlat/te/shu/VAfor repentanceבִּרְאוֹתְכֶםbir/ot/KHEMseeingכִּיkithatלִבְּכֶםlib/be/KHEMyour heartsהִקְשָׁהhik/SHAhardenedמְאֹדme/ODgrosslyנֶגֶדNE/gedagainstדְּבַר־אֱלֹהִיםde/VAR-e/lo/HIMthe word of Godוּבִרְאוֹתְכֶםu/vir/ot/KHEMand seeingכִּיkithatעַםama peopleאֹבֵדo/VEDlostוְנוֹפֵלve/no/FELand fallenאַתֶּם׃at/TEMyou are

    And now, my beloved brethren, for ye are my brethren, and ye ought to be beloved, and ye ought to bring forth works which are meet for repentance, seeing that your hearts have been grossly hardened against the word of God, and seeing that ye are a lost and a fallen people.

31. 31

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI spokeאֲנִיa/NIIאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEbeholdקָצַףka/TSAFwere wrothהָעָםha/AMthe peopleעָלַיa/LAYwith meכִּיkibecauseאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidלָהֶםla/HEMunto themכִּיkithatהֵםhemthey wereעַםama peopleקְשֵׁה־לֵבke/SHE-levhard-heartedוְעַםve/AMand a peopleקְשֵׁה־עֹרֶף׃ke/SHE-O/refstiffnecked

    Now it came to pass that when I, Alma, had spoken these words, behold, the people were wroth with me because I said unto them that they were a hard-hearted and a stiffnecked people.

32. 32

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoכִּיkibecauseאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidלָהֶםla/HEMunto themכִּיkithatהֵםhemthey wereעַםama peopleאֹבֵדo/VEDlostוְנוֹפֵלve/no/FELand fallenכָּעֲסוּka/a/SUthey were angryעָלַיa/LAYwith meוַיְבַקְשׁוּvay/vak/SHUand soughtלִשְׁלֹחַlish/LO/achto layיְדֵיהֶםye/de/HEMtheir handsבִּיbiupon meלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיַשְׁלִיכֻנִיyash/li/khu/NIthey might cast meלְבֵיתle/VETintoהַכֶּלֶא׃hak/KE/leprison

    And also because I said unto them that they were a lost and a fallen people they were angry with me, and sought to lay their hands upon me, that they might cast me into prison.

33. 33

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּי־לֹאki-lothat notנָתַןna/TANsufferedיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiלָהֶםla/HEMthemלְקַחְתֵּנִיle/kach/te/NIto take meבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatוּלְהַשְׁלִיכֵנִיu/le/hash/li/khe/NIand cast meלְבֵיתle/VETintoהַכֶּלֶא׃hak/KE/leprison

    But it came to pass that the Lord did not suffer them that they should take me at that time and cast me into prison.

34. 34

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatהָלַךְha/LAKHwentעֲמוּלֶקA/mu/lekAmulekוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stood forthוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganלִדְרֹשׁlid/ROSHto preachאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themגַּם־הוּאgam-hualsoוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe wordsעֲמוּלֶקA/mu/lekof Amulekלֹא־נִכְתְּבוּlo-nikh/te/VUare not writtenכֻלָּםkhul/LAMallאַךְakhbutחֵלֶקCHE/leka partמִדְּבָרָיוmid/de/va/RAYVof his wordsכָּתוּבka/TUVare writtenבַּסֵּפֶרbas/SE/ferin the bookהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And it came to pass that Amulek went and stood forth, and began to preach unto them also. And now the words of Amulek are not all written, nevertheless a part of his words are written in this book.
