   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterיוֹמַיִםyo/MA/yimtwo daysוּשְׁנֵיu/she/NEand twoלֵילוֹתle/LOTnightsעָמְדוּa/me/DUthey were aboutלָשֵׂאתla/SETto takeאֶת־גְּוִיָּתוֹet-ge/viy/ya/TOhis bodyוּלְשׂוּמָהּu/le/su/MAand lay itבַּקֶּבֶרbak/KE/verin a sepulchreאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעָשׂוּa/SUthey madeלִקְבֹּרlik/BORto buryאֶת־מֵתֵיהֶם׃et-me/te/HEMtheir dead

   And it came to pass that after two days and two nights they were about to take his body and lay it in a sepulchre, which they had made for the purpose of burying their dead.

   וְהַמַּלְכָּהve/ham/mal/KAnow the queenשָׁמְעָהsha/me/Ahaving heardאֶת־שֵׁמַעet-SHE/maof the fameעַמּוֹןAm/MONof Ammonוַתִּשְׁלַחvat/tish/LACHand she sentוַתְּבַקֵּשׁvat/te/vak/KESHand desiredכִּיkithatיָבוֹאya/VOhe should come inאֵלֶיהָ׃e/LE/haunto her

   Now the queen having heard of the fame of Ammon, therefore she sent and desired that he should come in unto her.

   וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand didעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצֻוָּהtsuv/VAhe was commandedוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand went inאֶל־הַמַּלְכָּהel-ham/mal/KAunto the queenוַיְבַקֵּשׁvay/vak/KESHand desiredלָדַעַתla/DA/atto knowמַה־תַּחְפֹּץma-tach/POTSwhat she wouldכִּיkithatיַעֲשֶׂה׃ya/a/SEhe should do

   And it came to pass that Ammon did as he was commanded, and went in unto the queen, and desired to know what she would that he should do.

   וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand she saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himעַבְדֵיav/DEthe servantsאִישִׁיi/SHIof my husbandהוֹדִיעוּho/DI/umade knownלִיliunto meכִּיkithatנָבִיאna/VIa prophetאַתָּהat/TAyou areלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMof a Godקָדוֹשׁka/DOSHholyוְכִיve/KHIand thatיֶשׁ־לְךָyesh-le/KHAyou haveכֹּחַKO/achpowerלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doגְּבוּרוֹתge/vu/ROTmighty worksבִּשְׁמוֹ׃bish/MOin his name

   And she said unto him: The servants of my husband have made it known unto me that thou art a prophet of a holy God, and that thou hast power to do many mighty works in his name;

   Therefore, if this is the case, I would that ye should go in and see my husband, for he has been laid upon his bed for the space of two days and two nights; and some say that he is not dead, but others say that he is dead and that he stinketh, and that he ought to be placed in the sepulchre; but as for myself, to me he doth not stink.

   Now, this was what Ammon desired, for he knew that king Lamoni was under the power of God; he knew that the dark veil of unbelief was being cast away from his mind, and the light which did light up his mind, which was the light of the glory of God, which was a marvelous light of his goodness—yea, this light had infused such joy into his soul, the cloud of darkness having been dispelled, and that the light of everlasting life was lit up in his soul, yea, he knew that this had overcome his natural frame, and he was carried away in God—

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחֵפֶץCHE/fetsthe desireהַמַּלְכָּהham/mal/KAof the queenהָיָהha/YAwasחֶפְצוֹchef/TSOhis desireהַיָּחִידhay/ya/CHIDonlyוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he came inלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasבִּקְּשָׁהbik/ke/SHAdesiredהַמַּלְכָּהham/mal/KAthe queenוַיַּרְאvay/YARand he sawאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיֵּדַעvay/YE/daand he knewכִּי־לֹאki-lothat he was notמֵת׃metdead

   Therefore, what the queen desired of him was his only desire. Therefore, he went in to see the king according as the queen had desired him; and he saw the king, and he knew that he was not dead.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֶל־הַמַּלְכָּהel-ham/mal/KAunto the queenלֹא־מֵתlo-metis not deadהוּאhuheכִּי־אִםki-imbutיָשֵׁןya/SHENsleepsבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMin Godוּמָחָרu/ma/CHARand on the morrowיָקוּםya/KUMhe shall riseשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַל־תִּקְבְּרֻהוּ׃al-tik/be/ru/HUbury him not

   And he said unto the queen: He is not dead, but he sleepeth in God, and on the morrow he shall rise again; therefore bury him not.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonאֵלֶיהָe/LE/haunto herהֲתַאֲמִינִיha/ta/a/mi/NIbelieve youבָזֹאתva/ZOTthisוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand she saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himאֵין־לִיen-liI have noעֵדedwitnessזוּלַתzu/LATsaveדְבָרְךָde/va/re/KHAyour wordוּדְבַרu/de/VARand the wordעֲבָדֵינוּa/va/de/NUof our servantsאַךְakhneverthelessמַאֲמִינָהma/a/mi/NAbelieveאֲנִיa/NIIכִּיkithatיִהְיֶהyih/YEit shall beכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERaccording asאָמַרְתָּ׃a/MAR/tayou said

   And Ammon said unto her: Believest thou this? And she said unto him: I have had no witness save thy word, and the word of our servants; nevertheless I believe that it shall be according as thou hast said.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonאֵלֶיהָe/LE/haunto herבְּרוּכָהbe/ru/KHAblessedאַתְּattare youבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofאֱמוּנָתֵךְe/mu/na/TEKHyour faithהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAexceedingאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָךְlakhunto youאִשָּׁהish/SHAwomanלֹא־הָיְתָהlo-ha/ye/TAthere has not beenאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatכָּזֹאתka/ZOTsuchבְּכׇל־עַםbe/KHOL-amamong all the peopleהַנֶּפִיִּים׃han/Ne/fiy/YIMof the Nephites

    And Ammon said unto her: Blessed art thou because of thy exceeding faith; I say unto thee, woman, there has not been such great faith among all the people of the Nephites.

    וַתִּשְׁמֹרvat/tish/MORand she watchedעַל־מִטַּתal-mit/TATover the bedאִישָׁהּi/SHAof her husbandמֵהָעֵתme/ha/ETfrom the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatוְעַד־הָעֵתve/AD-ha/ETeven until the timeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָעַדya/ADwas appointed byעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonלְמָחָרle/ma/CHARon the morrowכִּיkithatיָקוּם׃ya/KUMhe should rise

    And it came to pass that she watched over the bed of her husband, from that time even until that time on the morrow which Ammon had appointed that he should rise.

    וַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand he aroseכִּדְבַרkid/VARaccording to the wordsעַמּוֹןAm/MONof Ammonוּבְקוּמוֹu/ve/ku/MOand as he aroseשָׁלַחsha/LACHhe stretched forthיָדוֹya/DOhis handאֶל־הָאִשָּׁהel-ha/ish/SHAunto the womanוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidבָּרוּךְba/RUKHblessed beשֵׁםshemthe nameאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godוּבְרוּכָהu/ve/ru/KHAand blessedאָתְּ׃attare you

    And it came to pass that he arose, according to the words of Ammon; and as he arose, he stretched forth his hand unto the woman, and said: Blessed be the name of God, and blessed art thou.

    כִּיkiforחֵי־נַפְשֵׁךְche-naf/SHEKHas sure as you liveהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawאֶת־גֹּאֲלִיet-GO/a/limy Redeemerוְהוּאve/HUand heיֵצֵאye/TSEshall come forthוְיִוָּלֵדve/yiv/va/LEDand be bornמֵאִשָּׁהme/ish/SHAof a womanוְיִגְאַלve/yig/ALand he shall redeemאֶת־כׇּל־בְּנֵיet-kol-be/NEall the childrenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menהַמַּאֲמִינִיםham/ma/a/mi/NIMwho believeבִּשְׁמוֹbish/MOon his nameוַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכְּאׇמְרוֹke/om/ROwhen he saidאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיִּרְחַבvay/yir/CHAVand swelledלְבָבוֹle/va/VOhis heartבְּקִרְבּוֹbe/kir/BOwithin himוַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand he sunkשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainמִשִּׂמְחָהmis/sim/CHAwith joyוְגַםve/GAMand alsoהַמַּלְכָּהham/mal/KAthe queenנָפְלָהna/fe/LAsunk downכִּיkiforגָבַרga/VARprevailedעָלֶיהָa/LE/haover herהָרוּחַ׃ha/RU/achthe Spirit

    For as sure as thou livest, behold, I have seen my Redeemer; and he shall come forth, and be born of a woman, and he shall redeem all mankind who believe on his name. Now, when he had said these words, his heart was swollen within him, and he sunk again with joy; and the queen also sunk down, being overpowered by the Spirit.

    Now Ammon seeing the Spirit of the Lord poured out according to his prayers upon the Lamanites, his brethren, who had been the cause of so much mourning among the Nephites, or among all the people of God because of their iniquities and their traditions, he fell upon his knees, and began to pour out his soul in prayer and thanksgiving to God for what he had done for his brethren; and he was also overpowered with joy; and thus they all three had sunk to the earth.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawעַבְדֵיav/DEthe servantsהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhof the kingכִּיkithatנָפְלוּna/fe/LUthey fellוַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luthey beganגַם־הֵםgam-hemalsoלִזְעֹקliz/OKto cryאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםel-e/lo/HIMunto Godכִּיkiforנָפְלָהna/fe/LAcameעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themיִרְאַתyir/ATthe fearיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiכִּיkiforהֵםhemtheyהָיוּha/YUwereאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoעָמְדוּa/me/DUstoodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיָּעִידוּvay/ya/I/duand testifiedלוֹlounto himעַל־כֹּחַal-KO/achconcerning the powerעַמּוֹןAm/MONof Ammonהַגָּדוֹל׃hag/ga/DOLthe great

    Now, when the servants of the king had seen that they had fallen, they also began to cry unto God, for the fear of the Lord had come upon them also, for it was they who had stood before the king and testified unto him concerning the great power of Ammon.

    וַיִּקְרְאוּvay/yik/re/Uand they calledבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMon the nameיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiבְּכׇל־כֹּחָםbe/KHOL-ko/CHAMwith all their mightעַד־כִּיad-kieven untilנָפְלוּna/fe/LUfellכֻלָּםkhul/LAMthey allאַרְצָהAR/tsato the earthזוּלַתzu/LATsaveאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanאַחַתa/CHAToneמִנְּשֵׁיmin/ne/SHEof the womenהַלָּמָנִיםhal/La/ma/NIMof the Lamanitesוּשְׁמָהּu/she/MAwhose name wasאָבִישׁA/vishAbishוְהִיאve/HIand sheשָׁבָהSHA/vahad been convertedאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaiunto Adonaiזֶהzeforשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURon account ofמַרְאֵהmar/Ea visionאָבִיהָa/VI/haof her fatherהַנִּפְלָא׃han/nif/LAthe remarkable

    And it came to pass that they did call on the name of the Lord, in their might, even until they had all fallen to the earth, save it were one of the Lamanitish women, whose name was Abish, she having been converted unto the Lord for many years, on account of a remarkable vision of her father—

    Thus, having been converted to the Lord, and never having made it known, therefore, when she saw that all the servants of Lamoni had fallen to the earth, and also her mistress, the queen, and the king, and Ammon lay prostrate upon the earth, she knew that it was the power of God; and supposing that this opportunity, by making known unto the people what had happened among them, that by beholding this scene it would cause them to believe in the power of God, therefore she ran forth from house to house, making it known unto the people.

    And they began to assemble themselves together unto the house of the king. And there came a multitude, and to their astonishment, they beheld the king, and the queen, and their servants prostrate upon the earth, and they all lay there as though they were dead; and they also saw Ammon, and behold, he was a Nephite.

    וַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganהָעָםha/AMthe peopleלְהַלִּיןle/hal/LINto murmurאִישׁishoneאֶל־רֵעֵהוּel-re/E/huwith anotherוְיֵשׁve/YESHand someאֹמְרִיםom/RIMsaidכִּיkithatרָעָהra/Aan evilגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatבָּאָהba/Acameעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themאוֹoorעַל־הַמֶּלֶךְal-ham/ME/lekhupon the kingוּבֵיתוֹu/ve/TOand his houseכִּיkibecauseהִנִּיחַhin/NI/achhe sufferedלַנֶּפִיִּיlan/NE/fiy/yithat the Nephiteלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetshould remainבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/A/retsin the land

    And now the people began to murmur among themselves; some saying that it was a great evil that had come upon them, or upon the king and his house, because he had suffered that the Nephite should remain in the land.

    וַאֲחֵרִיםva/a/che/RIMbut othersגָּעֲרוּga/a/RUrebukedבָםvamthemלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingהֵבִיאhe/VIbroughtאֶת־הָרָעָהet-ha/ra/Athe evilהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisעַל־בֵּיתוֹal-be/TOupon his houseכִּיkibecauseהָרַגha/RAGhe slewאֶת־עֲבָדָיוet-a/va/DAYVhis servantsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseנָפוֹצוּna/fo/TSUwere scatteredעֶדְרֵיהֶםed/re/HEMtheir flocksעַל־מֵיal-meat the watersסֶבוּס׃SE/vusof Sebus

    But others rebuked them, saying: The king hath brought this evil upon his house, because he slew his servants who had had their flocks scattered at the waters of Sebus.

21. 21

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoעָמְדוּa/me/DUstoodעַל־מֵיal-meat the watersסֶבוּסSE/vusof Sebusוַיָּפִיצוּvay/ya/fi/TSUand scatteredאֶת־הָעֲדָרִיםet-ha/a/da/RIMthe flocksאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhbelonged to the kingגָּעֲרוּga/a/RUrebukedבָהֶםva/HEMthemכִּיkibecauseכָּעֲסוּka/a/SUthey were angryעַל־עַמּוֹןal-Am/MONwith Ammonבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofמִסְפַּרmis/PARthe numberאֲחֵיהֶםa/che/HEMof their brethrenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomהֵמִיתhe/MIThe slewעַל־מֵיal-meat the watersסֶבוּסSE/vusof Sebusבְּהָגִנּוֹbe/ha/gin/NOwhile defendingעַל־עֶדְרֵיal-ed/REthe flocksהַמֶּלֶךְ׃ham/ME/lekhof the king

    And they were also rebuked by those men who had stood at the waters of Sebus and scattered the flocks which belonged to the king, for they were angry with Ammon because of the number which he had slain of their brethren at the waters of Sebus, while defending the flocks of the king.

22. 22

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAnowאֶחָדe/CHADoneמֵהֶםme/HEMof themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseאָחִיוa/CHIVbrotherהוּמַתhu/MAThad been slainבְּחֶרֶבbe/CHE/revwith the swordעַמּוֹןAm/MONof Ammonוַיִּחַרvay/YI/charand it burnedלוֹlounto himמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyעַל־עַמּוֹןal-Am/MONwith Ammonוַיִּשְׁלֹףvay/yish/LOFdrewחַרְבּוֹchar/BOhis swordוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went forthלְהוֹרִידָהּle/ho/ri/DAto let it fallעַל־עַמּוֹןal-Am/MONupon Ammonלַהֲרֹגla/ha/ROGto slayאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּהֲרִימוֹka/ha/ri/MOas he liftedאֶת־הַחֶרֶבet-ha/CHE/revthe swordלְהַכּוֹתוֹle/hak/ko/TOto smite himוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdנָפַלna/FALhe fellמֵת׃metdead

    Now, one of them, whose brother had been slain with the sword of Ammon, being exceedingly angry with Ammon, drew his sword and went forth that he might let it fall upon Ammon, to slay him; and as he lifted the sword to smite him, behold, he fell dead.

23. 23

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAnowרָאִינוּra/I/nuwe seeכִּי־לֹאki-lothat notיוּמַתyu/MATcould be slainעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonכִּיkiforאָמַרa/MARsaidיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiלְמוֹשִׁיָּהle/Mo/SHIY/yaunto Mosiahאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherאֶחְמֹלech/MOLI will spareעָלָיוa/LAYVhimוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beלוֹlounto himכֶּאֱמוּנָתֶךָke/e/mu/na/te/KHAaccording to your faithלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִפְקִידhif/KIDtrustedמוֹשִׁיָּהMo/SHIY/yaMosiahאוֹתוֹo/TOhimבְּיַד־יְהוָה׃be/YAD-Adonaiunto the hand of Adonai

    Now we see that Ammon could not be slain, for the Lord had said unto Mosiah, his father: I will spare him, and it shall be unto him according to thy faith—therefore, Mosiah trusted him unto the Lord.

24. 24

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe multitudeכִּי־נָפַלki-na/FALthat fellהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manמֵתmetdeadאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֵרִיםhe/RIMliftedאֶת־הַחֶרֶבet-ha/CHE/revthe swordלַהֲרֹגla/ha/ROGto slayאֶת־עַמּוֹןet-Am/MONAmmonוַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLfellפַּחַדPA/chadfearעַל־כֻּלָּםal-kul/LAMupon them allוְלֹא־הֵעֵזּוּve/LO-he/ez/ZUand they durst notלִשְׁלֹחַlish/LO/achput forthיָדָםya/DAMtheir handsלָגַעַתla/GA/atto touchבּוֹbohimאוֹoorבְּאַחַדbe/a/CHADany oneמֵהַנֹּפְלִיםme/han/nof/LIMof those who fellוַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luand they beganלְהִתְפַּלֵּאle/hit/pal/LEto marvelשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainאִישׁishoneאֶל־רֵעֵהוּel-re/E/huwith anotherמָהmawhatהַכֹּחַhak/KO/achthe powerהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLthe greatהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאוֹoorמַה־פֵּשֶׁרma-PE/sherwhat is the meaningכׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםkol-had/de/va/RIMof all the thingsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    And it came to pass that when the multitude beheld that the man had fallen dead, who lifted the sword to slay Ammon, fear came upon them all, and they durst not put forth their hands to touch him or any of those who had fallen; and they began to marvel again among themselves what could be the cause of this great power, or what all these things could mean.

25. 25

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatרַבִּיםrab/BIMthere were manyמֵהֶםme/HEMamong themאָמְרוּa/me/RUwho saidכִּיkithatעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonהוּאhuwasהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe SpiritהַגְּדוֹלָהHag/ge/do/LAGreatוַאֲחֵרִיםva/a/che/RIMand othersאָמְרוּa/me/RUsaidכִּיkithatנִשְׁלַחnish/LACHhe was sentבְּיַדbe/YADbyהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritהַגְּדוֹלָה׃Hag/ge/do/LAGreat

    And it came to pass that there were many among them who said that Ammon was the Great Spirit, and others said he was sent by the Great Spirit;

26. 26

    וַאֲחֵרִיםva/a/che/RIMbut othersגָּעֲרוּga/a/RUrebukedבְּכֻלָּםbe/khul/LAMthem allלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמִפְלֶצֶתmif/LE/tseta monsterהוּאhuhe isאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנִשְׁלַחnish/LACHhas been sentמֵאֵתme/ETfromהַנֶּפִיִּיםhan/Ne/fiy/YIMthe Nephitesלְעַנּוֹתָם׃le/an/no/TAMto torment them

    But others rebuked them all, saying that he was a monster, who had been sent from the Nephites to torment them.

27. 27

    וְיֵשׁve/YESHand there wereאֲשֶׁר־אָמְרוּa/SHER-a/me/RUsome who saidכִּיkithatנִשְׁלַחnish/LACHwas sentעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonבְּיַדbe/YADbyהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe SpiritהַגְּדוֹלָהHag/ge/do/LAGreatלְיַסְּרָםle/yas/se/RAMto afflict themבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofעֲוֹנוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/no/te/HEMtheir iniquitiesוְכִיve/KHIand thatזֶהzeit wasהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe SpiritהַגְּדוֹלָהHag/ge/do/LAGreatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּמִידta/MIDalwaysהָיָהha/YAwasעִם־הַנֶּפִיִּיםim-Han/ne/fiy/YIMwith the Nephitesוְהִצִּילve/hits/TSILand deliveredאוֹתָםo/TAMthemמִיָּדָםmiy/ya/DAMout of their handsתָּמִידta/MIDeverוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidכִּי־זֶהki-zethat it was thisהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe SpiritהַגְּדוֹלָהHag/ge/do/LAGreatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהִשְׁמִידhish/MIDdestroyedרַבִּיםrab/BIMso manyמֵאֲחֵיהֶםme/a/che/HEMof their brethrenהַלָּמָנִים׃hal/La/ma/NIMthe Lamanites

    And there were some who said that Ammon was sent by the Great Spirit to afflict them because of their iniquities; and that it was the Great Spirit that had always attended the Nephites, who had ever delivered them out of their hands; and they said that it was this Great Spirit who had destroyed so many of their brethren, the Lamanites.

28. 28

    וְכֵןve/KHENand thusהֵחֵלhe/CHELbeganהָרִיבha/RIVthe contentionלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beקָשֶׁהka/SHEsharpמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyבֵּינֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMamong themוּבְעוֹדָםu/ve/o/DAMand while they wereרָבִיםra/VIMcontendingכֵּןkenthusבָּאָהba/Acameהָאָמָהha/a/MAthe woman servantאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהִקְהִילָהhik/hi/LAgatheredאֶת־הֶהָמוֹןet-he/ha/MONthe multitudeוַתֵּרֶאvat/TE/reand when she sawאֶת־הָרִיבet-ha/RIVthe contentionאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich wasבֵּיןbenamongהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe multitudeוַתִּתְעַצֵּבvat/tit/ats/TSEVshe was sorrowfulמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyעַדadeven untoדְּמָעוֹת׃de/ma/OTtears

    And thus the contention began to be exceedingly sharp among them. And while they were thus contending, the woman servant who had caused the multitude to be gathered together came, and when she saw the contention which was among the multitude she was exceedingly sorrowful, even unto tears.

29. 29

    וַתֵּלֶךְvat/TE/lekhand she wentוַתֹּאחֶזvat/TO/chezand tookבְּיַדbe/YADby the handהַמַּלְכָּהham/mal/KAof the queenאוּלַיu/LAYthat perhapsתּוּכַלtu/KHALshe mightלַהֲקִימָהּla/ha/ki/MAraise herמִן־הָאָרֶץmin-ha/A/retsfrom the groundוַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכְּנׇגְעָהּke/nog/Aas she touchedבְּיָדָהּbe/ya/DAher handוַתָּקׇםvat/TA/komthat she aroseוַתַּעֲמֹדvat/ta/a/MODand stoodעַל־רַגְלֶיהָal-rag/LE/haupon her feetוַתִּזְעַקvat/tiz/AKand criedבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aO Jesusהַמְּבֹרָךְham/me/vo/RAKHthe blessedאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהִצַּלְתָּhits/TSAL/tasavedאוֹתִיo/TImeמִשְּׁאוֹלmish/she/OLfrom a hellנוֹרָאָהno/ra/Aawfulאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMO Godמְבֹרָךְme/vo/RAKHblessedרַחֵםra/CHEMhave mercyעַל־הָעָםal-ha/AMon the peopleהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And it came to pass that she went and took the queen by the hand, that perhaps she might raise her from the ground; and as soon as she touched her hand she arose and stood upon her feet, and cried with a loud voice, saying: O blessed Jesus, who has saved me from an awful hell! O blessed God, have mercy on this people!

30. 30

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכְּאׇמְרָהּke/om/RAwhen she saidזֹאתzotthisוַתַּחְבֹּקvat/tach/BOKand claspedכַּפֶּיהָkap/PE/haher handsוַתִּמָּלֵאvat/tim/ma/LEbeing filled withשִׂמְחָהsim/CHAjoyוַתְּדַבֵּרvat/te/dab/BERspeakingדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMwordsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹאlonotהוּבְנוּhuv/NUwere understoodוּכְכַלּוֹתָהּu/khe/khal/lo/TAand when she didאֶת־זֹאתet-zotthisוַתֹּאחֶזvat/TO/chezshe tookבְּיַדbe/YADby the handהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhof the kingלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdקָםkamhe aroseוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodעַל־רַגְלָיו׃al-rag/LAYVupon his feet

    And when she had said this, she clasped her hands, being filled with joy, speaking many words which were not understood; and when she had done this, she took the king, Lamoni, by the hand, and behold he arose and stood upon his feet.

31. 31

    וְהוּאve/HUand heמַהֵרma/HERimmediatelyבִּרְאוֹתוֹbir/o/TOseeingאֶת־הָרִיבet-ha/RIVthe contentionבְּקֶרֶבbe/KE/revamongעַמּוֹam/MOhis peopleיָצָאya/TSAwent forthוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganלִגְעֹרlig/ORto rebukeבָּםbamthemוּלְלַמְּדָםu/le/lam/me/DAMand to teach themאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichשָׁמַעsha/MAhe heardמִפִּיmip/PIfrom the mouthעַמּוֹןAm/MONof Ammonוְכׇל־הַשֹּׁמְעִיםve/KHOL-hash/shom/IMand as many as heardאֶת־דְּבָרָיוet-de/va/RAYVhis wordsהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nubelievedוַיָּשׁוּבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand were convertedאֶל־יְהוָה׃el-Adonaiunto Adonai

    And he, immediately, seeing the contention among his people, went forth and began to rebuke them, and to teach them the words which he had heard from the mouth of Ammon; and as many as heard his words believed, and were converted unto the Lord.

32. 32

    אַךְakhbutרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyבָּםbamamong themלֹא־אָבוּlo-a/VUwould notלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ahearאֶת־דְּבָרָיוet-de/va/RAYVhis wordsוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentלְדַרְכָּם׃le/dar/KAMtheir way

    But there were many among them who would not hear his words; therefore they went their way.

33. 33

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenקָםkamaroseעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonוַיְשָׁרֵתvay/sha/RETthat he administeredגַּם־הוּאgam-hualsoלָהֶםla/HEMunto themוְכֵןve/KHENand likewise didכׇּל־עַבְדֵיkol-av/DEall the servantsלָמוֹנִיla/MO/niof Lamoniוַיַּגִּידוּvay/yag/GI/duand they declaredכֻלָּםkhul/LAMallלָעָםla/AMunto the peopleדָּבָרda/VARa thingאֶחָדe/CHADoneכִּי־נֶהְפְּכוּki-neh/pe/KHUthat were changedלִבּוֹתֵיהֶםlib/bo/te/HEMtheir heartsוְכִיve/KHIand thatאֵיןenthere was noלָהֶםla/HEMunto themעוֹדodmoreחֵפֶץCHE/fetsdesireלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doרָע׃raevil

    And it came to pass that when Ammon arose he also administered unto them, and also did all the servants of Lamoni; and they did all declare unto the people the selfsame thing—that their hearts had been changed; that they had no more desire to do evil.

34. 34

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyהִגִּידוּhig/GI/dudeclaredלָעָםla/AMunto the peopleכִּיkithatרָאוּra/Uthey sawמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMangelsוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand conversedעִמָּםim/MAMwith themוְכֵןve/KHENand thusהִגִּידוּhig/GI/duthey toldלָהֶםla/HEMthemדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthingsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godוְצִדְקָתוֹ׃ve/tsid/ka/TOand his righteousness

    And behold, many did declare unto the people that they had seen angels and had conversed with them; and thus they had told them things of God, and of his righteousness.

35. 35

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatרַבִּיםrab/BIMthere were manyהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nuthat believedבְּדִבְרֵיהֶםbe/div/re/HEMin their wordsוְכׇל־הַמַּאֲמִינִיםve/KHOL-ham/ma/a/mi/NIMand as many as believedנִטְבְּלוּnit/be/LUwere baptizedוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they becameלְעַםle/AMa peopleצַדִּיקtsad/DIKrighteousוַיָּקִימוּvay/ya/KI/muand they establishedקְהִלָּהke/hil/LAa churchבֵּינֵיהֶם׃be/ne/HEMamong them

    And it came to pass that there were many that did believe in their words; and as many as did believe were baptized; and they became a righteous people, and they did establish a church among them.

36. 36

    וְכֵןve/KHENand thusהֵחֵלhe/CHELcommencedמַעֲשֵׂהma/a/SEthe workיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiבְּקֶרֶבbe/KE/revamongהַלָּמָנִיםhal/La/ma/NIMthe Lamanitesוְכֵןve/KHENthusהֵחֵלhe/CHELbeganיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiלִשְׁפֹּךְlish/POKHto pour outאֶת־רוּחוֹet-Ru/CHOhis Spiritעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themוְרָאִינוּve/ra/I/nuand we seeכִּיkithatזְרוֹעוֹze/ro/Ohis armנְטוּיָהne/tu/YAis extendedאֶלeltoכׇּל־הָעַמִּיםkol-ha/am/MIMall peopleאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuwill repentוְיַאֲמִינוּve/ya/a/MI/nuand believeבִּשְׁמוֹ׃bish/MOon his name

    And thus the work of the Lord did commence among the Lamanites; thus the Lord did begin to pour out his Spirit upon them; and we see that his arm is extended to all people who will repent and believe on his name.
