   And it came to pass that when they had established a church in that land, that king Lamoni desired that Ammon should go with him to the land of Nephi, that he might show him unto his father.

   And the voice of the Lord came to Ammon, saying: Thou shalt not go up to the land of Nephi, for behold, the king will seek thy life; but thou shalt go to the land of Middoni; for behold, thy brother Aaron, and also Muloki and Ammah are in prison.

   Now it came to pass that when Ammon had heard this, he said unto Lamoni: Behold, my brother and brethren are in prison at Middoni, and I go that I may deliver them.

   Now Lamoni said unto Ammon: I know, in the strength of the Lord thou canst do all things. But behold, I will go with thee to the land of Middoni; for the king of the land of Middoni, whose name is Antiomno, is a friend unto me; therefore I go to the land of Middoni, that I may flatter the king of the land, and he will cast thy brethren out of prison. Now Lamoni said unto him: Who told thee that thy brethren were in prison?

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himלֹאlonotהִגִּידhig/GIDtoldלִיlimeאִישׁishany manכִּי־אִםki-imsave it beאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֵלַיe/LAYunto meלֵךְlekhgoוְהַצֵּלve/hats/TSELand deliverאֶת־אַחֶיךָet-a/CHE/khayour brethrenכִּיkiforהֵםhemtheyבְּבֵיתbe/VETinהַכֶּלֶאhak/KE/leprisonבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the landמִדּוֹנִי׃mid/DO/niof Middoni

   And Ammon said unto him: No one hath told me, save it be God; and he said unto me—Go and deliver thy brethren, for they are in prison in the land of Middoni.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּשְׁמֹעַkish/MO/awhen heardלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniזֹאתzotthisוַיְצַוvay/TSAVthat he causedאֶת־עֲבָדָיוet-a/va/DAYVhis servantsלְהָכִיןle/ha/KHINto make readyאֶת־סוּסָיוet-su/SAYVhis horsesוּמַרְכְּבוֹתָיו׃u/mar/ke/vo/TAYVand his chariots

   Now when Lamoni had heard this he caused that his servants should make ready his horses and his chariots.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֶל־עַמּוֹןel-Am/MONunto Ammonלְכָהle/KHAcomeוְאֵרֵדve/e/REDand I will go downאִתְּךָit/te/KHAwith youלְאֶרֶץle/E/retsto the landמִדּוֹנִיmid/DO/niof Middoniוְשָׁםve/SHAMand thereאֶתְחַנֵּןet/chan/NENI will pleadלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhwith the kingוְיוֹצִיאve/yo/TSIthat he will castאֶת־אַחֶיךָet-a/CHE/khayour brethrenמִבֵּיתmib/BETout ofהַכֶּלֶא׃hak/KE/leprison

   And he said unto Ammon: Come, I will go with thee down to the land of Middoni, and there I will plead with the king that he will cast thy brethren out of prison.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedבְּעוֹדbe/ODwhileעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonוְלָמוֹנִיve/La/MO/niand Lamoniנוֹסְעִיםnos/IMwere journeyingשָׁמָּהSHAM/mathitherוַיִּפְגְּשׁוּvay/yif/ge/SHUthat they metאֶת־אֲבִיet-a/VIthe fatherלָמוֹנִיla/MO/niof Lamoniאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהוּאhuwasהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingעַל־כׇּל־הָאָרֶץ׃al-kol-ha/A/retsover all the land

   And it came to pass that as Ammon and Lamoni were journeying thither, they met the father of Lamoni, who was king over all the land.

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאֲבִיa/VIthe fatherלָמוֹנִיla/MO/niof Lamoniאָמַרa/MARsaidאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyלֹאlonotבָאתָVA/tadid you comeאֶלeltoהַמִּשְׁתֶּהham/mish/TEthe feastבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatהַהוּאha/HUthatכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tiI madeמִשְׁתֶּהmish/TEa feastלְבָנַיle/va/NAYunto my sonsוּלְעַמִּי׃u/le/am/MIand unto my people

   And behold, the father of Lamoni said unto him: Why did ye not come to the feast on that great day when I made a feast unto my sons, and unto my people?

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאָמַרa/MARsaidאָנָהA/nawhitherאַתָּהat/TAare youהֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoingעִםimwithהַנֶּפִיִּיhan/NE/fiy/yithe Nephiteהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהוּאhuisמִבְּנֵיmib/be/NEof the childrenהַכּוֹזֵב׃hak/ko/ZEVof a liar

    And he also said: Whither art thou going with this Nephite, who is one of the children of a liar?

    וַיְסַפֵּרvay/sap/PERand rehearsedלוֹlounto himלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniאָנָהA/nawhitherהוּאhuheהֹלֵךְho/LEKHwas goingכִּיkiforיָרֵאya/REhe fearedמֵהַכְעִיסוֹ׃me/hakh/i/SOfrom offending him

    And it came to pass that Lamoni rehearsed unto him whither he was going, for he feared to offend him.

12. 12

    וַיַּגֶּד־לוֹvay/YAG/ged-loand he told himגַּםgamalsoאֶת־כׇּלet-kolallהַסִּבָּהhas/sib/BAthe causeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָשַׁבya/SHAVhe tarriedבְּמַמְלַכְתּוֹbe/mam/lakh/TOin his own kingdomוְכִיve/KHIand thatלֹאlonotהָלַךְha/LAKHhe wentאֶל־אָבִיוel-a/VIVunto his fatherאֶלeltoהַמִּשְׁתֶּהham/mish/TEthe feastאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵכִין׃he/KHINhe prepared

    And he also told him all the cause of his tarrying in his own kingdom, that he did not go unto his father to the feast which he had prepared.

13. 13

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenסִפֵּרsip/PERrehearsedלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniלוֹlounto himאֶת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםet-kol-had/de/va/RIMall the thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdלְתִמְהוֹנוֹle/tim/ho/NOto his astonishmentחָרָה־אַףcha/RA-afburned the angerאָבִיוa/VIVof his fatherבּוֹboagainst himוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniהִנְּךָhin/ne/KHAare youהוֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoingלְהַצִּילle/hats/TSILto deliverאֶת־הַנֶּפִיִּיםet-Han/ne/fiy/YIMthe Nephitesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseבְּנֵיbe/NEsonsכוֹזֵבkho/ZEVof a liarהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהוּאhuheגָּזַלga/ZALrobbedאֶת־אֲבוֹתֵינוּet-a/vo/TE/nuour fathersוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowגַּםgamalsoבָּנָיוba/NAYVhis childrenבָּאוּBA/uare comeבְּתוֹכֵנוּbe/to/KHE/nuamongst usלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיְרַמּוּנוּye/ram/mu/NUthey may deceive usבְּעׇרְמָתָםbe/or/ma/TAMby their cunningוּבְכִזְבֵיהֶםu/ve/khiz/ve/HEMand their lyingsלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִגְזְלוּyig/ze/LUthey may robאוֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainמֵרְכוּשֵׁנוּ׃mer/khu/SHE/nuof our property

    And now when Lamoni had rehearsed unto him all these things, behold, to his astonishment, his father was angry with him, and said: Lamoni, thou art going to deliver these Nephites, who are sons of a liar. Behold, he robbed our fathers; and now his children are also come amongst us that they may, by their cunning and their lyings, deceive us, that they again may rob us of our property.

    וַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedאֲבִיa/VIthe fatherלָמוֹנִיla/MO/niof Lamoniאוֹתוֹo/TOhimלַהֲרֹגla/ha/ROGthat he should slayאֶת־עַמּוֹןet-Am/MONAmmonבֶּחָרֶבbe/CHA/revwith the swordוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand he commandedאוֹתוֹo/TOhimגַּםgamalsoלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInot toלֶכֶתLE/khetgoאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the landמִדּוֹנִיmid/DO/niof Middoniכִּי־אִםki-imbutלָשׁוּבla/SHUVthat he should returnאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the landיִשְׁמָעֵאל׃Yish/ma/ELof Ishmael

    Now the father of Lamoni commanded him that he should slay Ammon with the sword. And he also commanded him that he should not go to the land of Middoni, but that he should return with him to the land of Ishmael.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merbut saidלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himלֹאloI will notאֶהֱרֹגe/he/ROGslayאֶת־עַמּוֹןet-Am/MONAmmonוְלֹאve/LOneitherאָשׁוּבa/SHUVwill I returnאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the landיִשְׁמָעֵאלYish/ma/ELof Ishmaelכִּיkibutהֹלֵךְho/LEKHgoאֲנִיa/NIIאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the landמִדּוֹנִיmid/DO/niof Middoniלְשַׁלֵּחַle/shal/LE/achto releaseאֶת־אֲחֵיet-a/CHEthe brethrenעַמּוֹןAm/MONof Ammonכִּיkiforיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowכִּיkithatאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmenצֶדֶקTSE/dekof righteousnessהֵםhemthey areוּנְבִיאֵיu/ne/vi/Eand prophetsאֵלelof the Godאֱמֶת׃e/METof truth

    But Lamoni said unto him: I will not slay Ammon, neither will I return to the land of Ishmael, but I go to the land of Middoni that I may release the brethren of Ammon, for I know that they are just men and holy prophets of the true God.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּשְׁמֹעַkish/MO/awhen heardאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיִּחַר־אַפּוֹvay/YI/char-ap/POand his anger burnedבוֹvoagainst himוַיִּשְׁלֹףvay/yish/LOFand he drewאֶת־חַרְבּוֹet-char/BOhis swordלְהַכּוֹתוֹle/hak/ko/TOthat he might smite himאָרְצָה׃AR/tsato the earth

    Now when his father had heard these words, he was angry with him, and he drew his sword that he might smite him to the earth.

17. 17

    וַיִּגַּשׁvay/yig/GASHbut drew nearעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלֹאloyou shall notתַהֲרֹגta/ha/ROGslayאֶת־בִּנְךָet-bin/KHAyour sonוְאוּלָםve/u/LAMneverthelessטוֹבtovit were betterכִּי־הוּאki-huthat heיִפֹּלyip/POLshould fallמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAthan youכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdשָׁבshavhe repentedמֵחַטֹּאתָיוme/chat/to/TAYVof his sinsוְאִםve/IMbut ifתִּפֹּלtip/POLshould fallאַתָּהat/TAyouבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisבַּחֲרוֹןba/cha/RONin the fiercenessאַפְּךָap/pe/KHAof your angerלֹאlonotתִוָּשַׁעtiv/va/SHAcould be savedנַפְשֶׁךָ׃naf/SHE/khayour soul

    But Ammon stood forth and said unto him: Behold, thou shalt not slay thy son; nevertheless, it were better that he should fall than thee, for behold, he has repented of his sins; but if thou shouldst fall at this time, in thine anger, thy soul could not be saved.

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againנָכוֹןna/KHONit is expedientלְךָle/KHAunto youלַחֲדֹלla/cha/DOLto forbearכִּי־אִםki-imfor ifתַּהֲרֹגta/ha/ROGyou should slayאֶת־בִּנְךָet-bin/KHAyour sonוְהוּאve/HUand heאִישׁisha manנָקִיna/KIinnocentוְדָמוֹve/da/MOand his bloodיִצְעַקyits/AKwould cryמִן־הָאֲדָמָהmin-ha/a/da/MAfrom the groundאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaiunto Adonaiאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVhis Godלִנְקֹםlin/KOMfor vengeanceמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAupon youוְאוּלַיve/u/LAYand perhapsתֹּאבַדto/VADwould perishנַפְשֶׁךָ׃naf/SHE/khayour soul

    And again, it is expedient that thou shouldst forbear; for if thou shouldst slay thy son, he being an innocent man, his blood would cry from the ground to the Lord his God, for vengeance to come upon thee; and perhaps thou wouldst lose thy soul.

19. 19

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיַּעַןvay/YA/anhe answeredאֹתוֹo/TOhimלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowכִּי־אִםki-imthat ifאֶהֱרֹגe/he/ROGI should slayאֶת־בְּנִיet-be/NImy sonוְשָׁפַכְתִּיve/sha/fakh/TIthat I should shedדָּםdambloodנָקִיna/KIinnocentכִּי־אַתָּהki-at/TAfor youהוּאhuare heאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבִּקַּשְׁתָּbik/kash/TAsoughtלְהַשְׁחִיתוֹ׃le/hash/chi/TOto destroy him

    Now when Ammon had said these words unto him, he answered him, saying: I know that if I should slay my son, that I should shed innocent blood; for it is thou that hast sought to destroy him.

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he stretched forthאֶת־יָדוֹet-ya/DOhis handלַהֲרֹגla/ha/ROGto slayאֶת־עַמּוֹןet-Am/MONAmmonוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODbut stoodעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonבִּפְנֵיbif/NEagainstמַכּוֹתָיוmak/ko/TAYVhis blowsוַיַּךְvay/YAKHand smoteגַּםgamalsoאֶת־זְרוֹעוֹet-ze/ro/Ohis armעַד־אֲשֶׁרad-a/SHERthatלֹא־יָכֹלlo-ya/KHOLhe could notלִנְטֹלlin/TOLuseבָּהּ׃bawith it

    And he stretched forth his hand to slay Ammon. But Ammon withstood his blows, and also smote his arm that he could not use it.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingכִּיkithatיוּכַלyu/KHALcouldעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonלַהֲרֹגla/ha/ROGslayאוֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/chelhe beganלְהִתְחַנֵּןle/hit/chan/NENto pleadאֶל־עַמּוֹןel-Am/MONwith Ammonלַחֲמֹלla/cha/MOLto spareעַל־נַפְשׁוֹ׃al-naf/SHOhis life

    Now when the king saw that Ammon could slay him, he began to plead with Ammon that he would spare his life.

22. 22

    וַיָּרֶםvay/YA/rembut liftedעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonאֶת־חַרְבּוֹet-char/BOhis swordוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאַכֶּכָּהak/KEK/kaI will smite youאִם־לֹאim-loexceptתִתֵּןtit/TENyou will grantלִיlimeלְהוֹצִיאle/ho/TSIto bring outאֶת־אַחַיet-a/CHAYmy brethrenמִבֵּיתmib/BETout ofהַכֶּלֶא׃hak/KE/leprison

    But Ammon raised his sword, and said unto him: Behold, I will smite thee except thou wilt grant unto me that my brethren may be cast out of prison.

23. 23

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingבְּיִרְאָתוֹbe/yir/a/TOfearingפֶּןpenlestיֹאבַדyo/VADhe should loseנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis lifeאִםimifתַּחְמֹלtach/MOLyou will spareעָלַיa/LAYmeאֶתֵּן־לְךָet/TEN-le/KHAI will grant youכֹּלkolwhatsoeverאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתִּשְׁאַלtish/ALyou will askעַדadeven toחֲצִיcha/TSIhalfהַמַּמְלָכָה׃ham/mam/la/KHAof the kingdom

    Now the king, fearing he should lose his life, said: If thou wilt spare me I will grant unto thee whatsoever thou wilt ask, even to half of the kingdom.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּרְאוֹתkir/OTwhen sawעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonכִּיkithatפָעַלfa/ALhe wroughtעַל־הַמֶּלֶךְal-ham/ME/lekhupon the kingהַזָּקֵןhaz/za/KENoldכִּרְצוֹנוֹkir/tso/NOaccording to his desireוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merhe saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himאִם־תִּתֵּןim-tit/TENif you will grantלְהוֹצִיאle/ho/TSIto bring outאֶת־אַחַיet-a/CHAYmy brethrenמִבֵּיתmib/BETout ofהַכֶּלֶאhak/KE/leprisonוְגַםve/GAMand alsoכִּיkithatיִשְׁמֹרyish/MORmay retainלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniאֶת־מַמְלַכְתּוֹet-mam/lakh/TOhis kingdomוְכִיve/KHIand thatלֹאloyou will notתִקְצֹףtik/TSOFbe displeasedעָלָיוa/LAYVwith himוְנָתַתָּve/na/tat/TAbut will grantלוֹlohimלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכִּרְצוֹנוֹkir/tso/NOaccording to his own desiresבְּכׇל־אֲשֶׁרbe/KHOL-a/SHERin whatsoeverיַחְשֹׁבyach/SHOVhe shall thinkאָזazthenאֶחְמֹלech/MOLwill I spareעָלֶיךָa/LE/khayouוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-lootherwiseאַכֶּכָּהak/KEK/kaI will smite youאָרְצָה׃AR/tsato the earth

    Now when Ammon saw that he had wrought upon the old king according to his desire, he said unto him: If thou wilt grant that my brethren may be cast out of prison, and also that Lamoni may retain his kingdom, and that ye be not displeased with him, but grant that he may do according to his own desires in whatsoever thing he thinketh, then will I spare thee; otherwise I will smite thee to the earth.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/chelbeganהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingלִשְׂמֹחַlis/MO/achto rejoiceעַל־נַפְשׁוֹ׃al-naf/SHObecause of his life

    Now when Ammon had said these words, the king began to rejoice because of his life.

26. 26

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּרְאוֹתוֹkir/o/TOwhen he sawכִּיkithatאֵיןenthere was noלְעַמּוֹןle/Am/MONunto AmmonחֵפֶץCHE/fetsdesireלְהַשְׁמִידוֹle/hash/mi/DOto destroy himוְכִיve/KHIand whenרָאָהra/Ahe sawגַםgamalsoאֶת־אַהֲבָתוֹet-a/ha/va/TOhis loveהַגְּדוֹלָהhag/ge/do/LAgreatלִבְנוֹliv/NOfor his sonלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniוַיִּתְמַהּvay/yit/MAhe was astonishedמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיַעַןYA/anbecauseכִּי־זֹאתki-zotthat this isכׇּלkolallשְׁאֵלָתְךָshe/e/la/te/KHAyour requestלְשַׁלֵּחַle/shal/LE/achto releaseאֶת־אַחֶיךָet-a/CHE/khayour brethrenוְלָתֵתve/la/TETand to sufferלִבְנִיliv/NImy sonלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORshould retainאֶת־מַמְלַכְתּוֹet-mam/lakh/TOhis kingdomהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֶתֵּןet/TENI will grantלָכֶםla/KHEMyouכִּיkithatיִשְׁמֹרyish/MORmay retainבְּנִיbe/NImy sonאֶת־מַמְלַכְתּוֹet-mam/lakh/TOhis kingdomמֵהַיּוֹםme/hay/YOMfrom the timeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְעַד־עוֹלָםve/AD-o/LAMand for everוְלֹאve/LOand notאֶמְשֹׁלem/SHOLI will governבּוֹbohimעוֹד׃odmore

    And when he saw that Ammon had no desire to destroy him, and when he also saw the great love he had for his son Lamoni, he was astonished exceedingly, and said: Because this is all that thou hast desired, that I would release thy brethren, and suffer that my son Lamoni should retain his kingdom, behold, I will grant unto you that my son may retain his kingdom from this time and forever; and I will govern him no more—

27. 27

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶתֵּן־לְךָet/TEN-le/KHAI will grant youלְהוֹצִיאle/ho/TSIto bring outאֶת־אַחֶיךָet-a/CHE/khayour brethrenמִבֵּיתmib/BETout ofהַכֶּלֶאhak/KE/leprisonוְתָבוֹאve/ta/VOand may comeאַתָּהat/TAyouוְאַחֶיךָve/a/CHE/khaand your brethrenאֵלַיe/LAYunto meבְּמַמְלַכְתִּיbe/mam/lakh/TIin my kingdomכִּיkiforאֶתְאַוֶּהet/av/VEI shall desireמְאֹדme/ODgreatlyלִרְאוֹתְךָlir/ot/KHAto see youכִּיkiforתָמַהּta/MAwas astonishedהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingמְאֹדme/ODgreatlyעַל־הַדְּבָרִיםal-had/de/va/RIMat the wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבֶּרdib/BERhe spokeוְגַםve/GAMand alsoעַל־דִּבְרֵיal-div/REat the wordsבְנוֹve/NOof his sonלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחָפֵץcha/FETShe was desirousלָדַעַתla/DA/atto learnאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    And I will also grant unto thee that thy brethren may be cast out of prison, and thou and thy brethren may come unto me, in my kingdom; for I shall greatly desire to see thee. For the king was greatly astonished at the words which he had spoken, and also at the words which had been spoken by his son Lamoni, therefore he was desirous to learn them.

28. 28

    וַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand wentעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonוְלָמוֹנִיve/La/MO/niand Lamoniלְדַרְכָּםle/dar/KAMon their wayאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retstowards the landמִדּוֹנִיmid/DO/niof Middoniוַיִּמְצָאvay/yim/TSAand foundלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniחֵןchenfavorבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyesמֶלֶךְME/lekhof the kingהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהוֹצִיאוּho/TSI/uwere brought forthאֶת־אֲחֵיet-a/CHEthe brethrenעַמּוֹןAm/MONof Ammonמִבֵּיתmib/BETout ofהַכֶּלֶא׃hak/KE/leprison

    And it came to pass that Ammon and Lamoni proceeded on their journey towards the land of Middoni. And Lamoni found favor in the eyes of the king of the land; therefore the brethren of Ammon were brought forth out of prison.

29. 29

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedבִּפְגֹּשׁbif/GOSHwhen metאוֹתָםo/TAMthemעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonוַיִּתְעַצֵּבvay/yit/ats/TSEVhe was sorrowfulמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdעֵירֻמִּיםe/rum/MIMnakedהָיוּha/YUthey wereוְעוֹרָםve/o/RAMand their skinsשָׁחוּקsha/CHUKwere wornמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyמֵהֱיוֹתָםme/he/yo/TAMbecause of beingאֲסוּרִיםa/su/RIMboundבַּעֲבֹתִיםba/a/vo/TIMwith cordsחֲזָקִיםcha/za/KIMstrongוַיִּסְבְּלוּvay/yis/be/LUand they sufferedגַםgamalsoרָעָבra/AVhungerוְצָמָאve/tsa/MAthirstוְכׇל־מִינֵיve/KHOL-mi/NEand all kindsצָרוֹתtsa/ROTof afflictionsאַךְakhneverthelessהֶאֱרִיכוּhe/e/RI/khuthey were patientרוּחַRU/achof spiritבְּכׇלbe/KHOLin allסִבְלוֹתֵיהֶם׃siv/lo/te/HEMtheir sufferings

    And when Ammon did meet them he was exceedingly sorrowful, for behold they were naked, and their skins were worn exceedingly because of being bound with strong cords. And they also had suffered hunger, thirst, and all kinds of afflictions; nevertheless they were patient in all their sufferings.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasנָפַלna/FALfellגּוֹרָלָםgo/ra/LAMtheir lotלִנְפֹּלlin/POLto fallבְּיַדbe/YADinto the handsעַםamof a peopleמַקְשֶׁה־לֵבmak/SHE-levhardenedוּקְשֵׁה־עֹרֶףu/ke/SHE-O/refand stiffneckedיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeלֹא־שָׁמְעוּlo-sha/me/Uthey would not hearkenלְדִבְרֵיהֶםle/div/re/HEMunto their wordsוַיְגָרְשׁוּםvay/ga/re/SHUMand they cast them outוַיַּכּוּםvay/yak/KUMand smote themוַיִּרְדְּפוּםvay/yir/de/FUMand drove themמִבַּיִתmib/BA/yitfrom houseאֶלeltoבַּיִתBA/yithouseוּמִמָּקוֹםu/mim/ma/KOMand from placeאֶל־מָקוֹםel-ma/KOMto placeעַד־אֲשֶׁרad-a/SHEReven untilבָּאוּBA/uthey arrivedאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsin the landמִדּוֹנִיmid/DO/niof Middoniוַיִּתְפְּשׂוּםvay/yit/pe/SUMand they were takenשָׁםshamthereוַיַּשְׁלִיכוּםvay/yash/li/KHUMand cast themלְבֵיתle/VETintoהַכֶּלֶאhak/KE/leprisonוַיַּאַסְרוּםvay/ya/as/RUMand bound themבַּעֲבֹתִיםba/a/vo/TIMwith cordsחֲזָקִיםcha/za/KIMstrongוַיַּחֲזִיקוּםvay/ya/cha/zi/KUMand kept themבְּבֵיתbe/VETinהַכֶּלֶאhak/KE/leprisonיָמִיםya/MIMdaysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַיִּגָּאֲלוּvay/yig/ga/a/LUand were deliveredבְּיַדbe/YADbyלָמוֹנִיLa/MO/niLamoniוְעַמּוֹן׃ve/Am/MONand Ammon

    And, as it happened, it was their lot to have fallen into the hands of a more hardened and a more stiffnecked people; therefore they would not hearken unto their words, and they had cast them out, and had smitten them, and had driven them from house to house, and from place to place, even until they had arrived in the land of Middoni; and there they were taken and cast into prison, and bound with strong cords, and kept in prison for many days, and were delivered by Lamoni and Ammon.
