   And it came to pass that Alma and Amulek were commanded to depart out of that city; and they departed, and came out even into the land of Sidom; and behold, there they found all the people who had departed out of the land of Ammonihah, who had been cast out and stoned, because they believed in the words of Alma.

   וַיְסַפְּרוּvay/SAP/pe/ruand they relatedלָהֶםla/HEMunto themאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall thatקָרָהka/RAhappenedלִנְשֵׁיהֶםlin/she/HEMunto their wivesוּלְיַלְדֵיהֶםu/le/yal/de/HEMand their childrenוְגַםve/GAMand alsoעַל־אוֹדוֹתָםal-o/do/TAMconcerning themselvesוְעַל־כֹּחַve/AL-KO/achand of the powerהַצָּלָתָם׃hats/tsa/la/TAMof their deliverance

   And they related unto them all that had happened unto their wives and children, and also concerning themselves, and of their power of deliverance.

   And also Zeezrom lay sick at Sidom, with a burning fever, which was caused by the great tribulations of his mind on account of his wickedness, for he supposed that Alma and Amulek were no more; and he supposed that they had been slain because of his iniquity. And this great sin, and his many other sins, did harrow up his mind until it did become exceedingly sore, having no deliverance; therefore he began to be scorched with a burning heat.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּשׇׁמְעוֹbe/shom/Owhen he heardכִּיkithatאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaוַעֲמוּלֶקva/A/mu/lekand Amulekבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retswere in the landסִידוֹםSI/domof Sidomהֵחֵלhe/CHELbeganלִבּוֹlib/BOhis heartלְהִתְחַזֵּקle/hit/chaz/ZEKto take courageוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he sentאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themמַהֵרma/HERimmediatelyדָּבָרda/VARa messageלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHdesiringכִּי־יָבֹאוּki-ya/VO/uthat they would comeאֵלָיו׃e/LAYVunto him

   Now, when he heard that Alma and Amulek were in the land of Sidom, his heart began to take courage; and he sent a message immediately unto them, desiring them to come unto him.

   וַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentמַהֵרma/HERimmediatelyכִּשְׁמוֹעָםkish/mo/AMobeyingאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe messageאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichשָׁלַחsha/LACHhe sentאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they wentהַבַּיְתָהhab/BAY/tainto the houseאֶל־זִיזְרוֹםel-Zi/ZE/romunto Zeezromוַיִּמְצְאֻהוּvay/yim/tse/u/HUand they found himשֹׁכֵבsho/KHEVlyingעַל־מִטָּתוֹal-mit/ta/TOupon his bedחוֹלֶהcho/LEsickמְאֹדme/ODveryבְּקַדַּחַתbe/kad/DA/chatwith a feverבּוֹעֶרֶתbo/E/retburningוְגַםve/GAMand alsoנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis mindכּוֹאֶבֶתko/E/vetwas soreמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyבַּעֲוֹנוֹתָיוba/a/vo/no/TAYVbecause of his iniquitiesוַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּרְאוֹתוֹkir/o/TOwhen he sawאוֹתָםo/TAMthemוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHthat he stretched forthיָדוֹya/DOhis handוַיִּתְחַנֵּןvay/yit/chan/NENand besoughtאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemכִּיkithatיְרַפְּאוּהוּ׃ye/rap/pe/u/HUthey would heal him

   And it came to pass that they went immediately, obeying the message which he had sent unto them; and they went in unto the house unto Zeezrom; and they found him upon his bed, sick, being very low with a burning fever; and his mind also was exceedingly sore because of his iniquities; and when he saw them he stretched forth his hand, and besought them that they would heal him.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himוַיֹּאחֶזvay/YO/cheztakingבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOby his handהֲתַאֲמִיןha/ta/a/MINbelieve youבְּכֹחַbe/KHO/achin the powerהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achof Christלִישׁוּעָה׃li/shu/Aunto salvation

   And it came to pass that Alma said unto him, taking him by the hand: Believest thou in the power of Christ unto salvation?

7. 7

   וַיַּעַןvay/YA/anand he answeredוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidכֵּןkenyeaאֲנִיa/NIIמַאֲמִיןma/a/MINbelieveבְּכׇל־הַדְּבָרִיםbe/KHOL-had/de/va/RIMall the wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלִמַּדְתָּ׃lim/mad/TAyou taught

   And he answered and said: Yea, I believe all the words that thou hast taught.

8. 8

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaאִם־תַּאֲמִיןim-ta/a/MINif you believeבִּגְאֻלַּתbig/ul/LATin the redemptionהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achof Christתּוּכַלtu/KHALyou canלְהֵרָפֵא׃le/he/ra/FEbe healed

   And Alma said: If thou believest in the redemption of Christ thou canst be healed.

9. 9

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidכֵּןkenyeaאֲנִיa/NIIמַאֲמִיןma/a/MINbelieveכִּדְבָרֶיךָ׃kid/va/RE/khaaccording to your words

   And he said: Yea, I believe according to thy words.

10. 10

    וְאָזve/AZand thenקָרָאka/RAcriedאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaiunto Adonaiלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingיְהוָהAdonaiO Adonaiאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godרַחֵםra/CHEMhave mercyעַל־הָאִישׁal-ha/ISHon the manהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוּרְפָאֵהוּu/re/fa/e/HUand heal himכֶּאֱמוּנָתוֹke/e/mu/na/TOaccording to his faithבַּמָּשִׁיחַ׃bam/Ma/SHI/achin Christ

    And then Alma cried unto the Lord, saying: O Lord our God, have mercy on this man, and heal him according to his faith which is in Christ.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיְדַלֵּגvay/dal/LEGthat leapedזִיזְרוֹםZi/ZE/romZeezromעַל־רַגְלָיוal-rag/LAYVupon his feetוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto walkוַיֵּעָשׂvay/ye/ASand was doneהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלְתִמָּהוֹןle/tim/ma/HONto the astonishmentגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatבְּכׇל־הָעָםbe/KHOL-ha/AMall the peopleוַתֵּצֵאvat/te/TSEand went forthהַשְּׁמוּעָהhash/she/mu/Athe reportהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץbe/KHOL-E/retsthroughout all the landסִידוֹם׃SI/domof Sidom

    And when Alma had said these words, Zeezrom leaped upon his feet, and began to walk; and this was done to the great astonishment of all the people; and the knowledge of this went forth throughout all the land of Sidom.

12. 12

    וַיַּטְבֵּלvay/yat/BELand baptizedאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaאֶת־זִיזְרוֹםet-Zi/ZE/romZeezromלַיהוָהla-Adonaiunto Adonaiוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland he beganמֵהָעֵתme/ha/ETfrom the time forthהַהִיאha/HIthatלִדְרֹשׁlid/ROSHto preachלָעָם׃la/AMunto the people

    And Alma baptized Zeezrom unto the Lord; and he began from that time forth to preach unto the people.

13. 13

    וַיָּקֶםvay/YA/kemand establishedאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaקְהִלָּהke/hil/LAa churchבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the landסִידוֹםSI/domof Sidomוַיְקַדֵּשׁvay/kad/DESHand consecratedכֹּהֲנִיםko/ha/NIMpriestsוּמוֹרִיםu/mo/RIMand teachersבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landלְהַטְבִּילle/hat/BILto baptizeלַיהוָהla-Adonaiunto Adonaiאֶת־כׇּל־הֶחָפֵץet-kol-he/cha/FETSwhosoever was desirousלְהִטָּבֵל׃le/hit/ta/VELto be baptized

    And Alma established a church in the land of Sidom, and consecrated priests and teachers in the land, to baptize unto the Lord whosoever were desirous to be baptized.

14. 14

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyכִּיkiforנָהֲרוּna/ha/RUthey did flock inמִכׇּל־הַכִּכָּרmik/KOL-hak/kik/KARfrom all the regionסְבִיבוֹתse/vi/VOTround aboutסִידוֹםSI/domSidomוַיִּטָּבֵלוּ׃vay/yit/ta/ve/LUand were baptized

    And it came to pass that they were many; for they did flock in from all the region round about Sidom, and were baptized.

15. 15

    אַךְakhbutהָעָםha/AMthe peopleאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho wereבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the landעַמּוֹנִיהָהAm/mo/NI/haof Ammonihahנִשְׁאֲרוּnish/a/RUstill remainedעַם־קְשֵׁהam-ke/SHEa people hardלֵבlevof heartוּקְשֵׁהu/ke/SHEand stiffעֹרֶףO/refof neckוְלֹא־שָׁבוּve/LO-SHA/vuand they repented notמֵחַטֹּאתֵיהֶםme/chat/to/te/HEMof their sinsוַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUascribingאֶת־כׇּל־כֹּחַet-kol-KO/achall the powerאַלְמָאAL/maof Almaוַעֲמוּלֶקva/A/mu/lekand Amulekלַשָּׂטָןlas/sa/TANto the devilכִּיkiforהָיוּha/YUthey wereמִדֶּרֶךְmid/DE/rekhof the professionנֵהוֹרNE/horof Nehorוְלֹאve/LOand did notהֶאֱמִינוּhe/e/MI/nubelieveבִּתְשׁוּבַתbit/shu/VATin the repentanceחַטֹּאתֵיהֶם׃chat/to/te/HEMof their sins

    But as to the people that were in the land of Ammonihah, they yet remained a hard-hearted and a stiffnecked people; and they repented not of their sins, ascribing all the power of Alma and Amulek to the devil; for they were of the profession of Nehor, and did not believe in the repentance of their sins.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaוַעֲמוּלֶקva/A/mu/lekand AmulekוַעֲמוּלֶקVa/A/mu/lekAmulekעָזַבa/ZAVforsookאֶת־כׇּל־זְהָבוֹet-kol-ze/ha/VOall his goldוְכַסְפּוֹve/khas/POand his silverוּכְלֵיu/khe/LEand the thingsחֶמְדָּתוֹchem/da/TOof his desireאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich wereבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the landעַמּוֹנִיהָהAm/mo/NI/haof Ammonihahבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURforדְּבַר־אֱלֹהִיםde/VAR-e/lo/HIMthe word of Godוַיִּמָּאֵסvay/yim/ma/ESand being rejectedבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof those whoהָיוּha/YUwereלְפָנִיםle/fa/NIMformerlyרֵעָיוre/AYVhis friendsוְגַםve/GAMand alsoבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyesאָבִיוa/VIVof his fatherוּמִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹ׃u/mish/pach/TOand his kindred

    And it came to pass that Alma and Amulek, Amulek having forsaken all his gold, and silver, and his precious things, which were in the land of Ammonihah, for the word of God, he being rejected by those who were once his friends and also by his father and his kindred;

17. 17

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהֵקִיםhe/KIMestablishedאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaאֶת־הַקְּהִלָּהet-hak/ke/hil/LAthe churchבְּסִידוֹםbe/SI/domat Sidomבִּרְאוֹתוֹbir/o/TOseeingמַעְצוֹרma/TSORa checkגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatאַףafyeaבִּרְאוֹתוֹbir/o/TOseeingכִּיkithatנֶעְצַרne/TSARwere checkedהָעָםha/AMthe peopleבְּגַאֲוַתbe/ga/a/VATas to the prideלִבָּםlib/BAMof their heartsוַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luand beganלְהִכָּנַעle/hik/ka/NAto humble themselvesלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luand beganלְהִקָּהֵלle/hik/ka/HELto assemble themselvesבְּמִקְדְּשֵׁיהֶםbe/mik/de/she/HEMin their sanctuariesלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto worshipאֶת־אֱלֹהִיםet-e/lo/HIMGodלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarשֹׁמְרִיםshom/RIMwatchingוּמִתְפַּלְלִיםu/mit/pal/LIMand prayingתָּמִידta/MIDcontinuallyלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִנָּצְלוּyin/na/tse/LUthey might be deliveredמִן־הַשָּׂטָןmin-Has/sa/TANfrom Satanוּמִן־הַמָּוֶתu/MIN-ham/MA/vetand from deathוּמִן־הַכִּלָּיוֹן׃u/MIN-hak/kil/la/YONand from destruction

    Therefore, after Alma having established the church at Sidom, seeing a great check, yea, seeing that the people were checked as to the pride of their hearts, and began to humble themselves before God, and began to assemble themselves together at their sanctuaries to worship God before the altar, watching and praying continually, that they might be delivered from Satan, and from death, and from destruction—

18. 18

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidבִּרְאוֹתbir/OTwhen sawאַלְמָאAL/maAlmaאֶת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםet-kol-had/de/va/RIMall the thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeלָקַחla/KACHhe tookאֶת־עֲמוּלֶקet-A/mu/lekAmulekוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand came overאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the landזָרַהֶמְלָהZa/ra/HEM/laof Zarahemlaוַיְבִיאֵהוּvay/vi/E/huand took himאֶל־בֵּיתוֹel-be/TOto his own houseוַיְשָׁרֵתvay/sha/RETand administeredאוֹתוֹo/TOunto himבְּצָרוֹתָיוbe/tsa/ro/TAYVin his tribulationsוַיְחַזְּקֵהוּvay/chaz/ze/KE/huand strengthened himבַּיהוָה׃ba-Adonaiin Adonai

    Now as I said, Alma having seen all these things, therefore he took Amulek and came over to the land of Zarahemla, and took him to his own house, and did administer unto him in his tribulations, and strengthened him in the Lord.

19. 19

    וַתִּתֹּםvat/tit/TOMand thus endedהַשָּׁנָהhash/sha/NAthe yearהָעֲשִׂירִיתha/a/si/RITtenthלְמִמְשַׁלle/mim/SHALof the reignהַשֹּׁפְטִיםhash/shof/TIMof the judgesעַל־עַםal-amover the peopleנֶפִי׃NE/fiof Nephi

    And thus ended the tenth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi.
