   And now it came to pass that when Jesus had told these things he expounded them unto the multitude; and he did expound all things unto them, both great and small.

   And he saith: These scriptures, which ye had not with you, the Father commanded that I should give unto you; for it was wisdom in him that they should be given unto future generations.

   וַיְבָאֵרvay/va/ERand expoundedלָהֶםla/HEMunto themאֶת־כׇּל־דָּבָרet-kol-da/VARall thingsמֵרֵאשִׁיתme/re/SHITfrom the beginningוְעַד־עֵתve/AD-eteven until the timeבּוֹאוֹbo/Oof his comingבִּכְבוֹדוֹbikh/vo/DOin his gloryאַףafyeaכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHEReven all things whichיִהְיֶהyih/YEshould comeעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the faceהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the earthעַד־אֲשֶׁרad-a/SHERuntilיִמַּסּוּyim/mas/SUshall meltהַיְסוֹדוֹתhay/so/DOTthe elementsבְּחֹםbe/CHOMwith heatעַזazferventוְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsand the earthתִּגֹּלtig/GOLshould be wrapt togetherכַּסֵּפֶרkas/SE/feras a scrollוְהַשָּׁמַיִםve/hash/sha/MA/yimand the heavensוְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsand the earthיַעַבְרוּ׃ya/av/RUshall pass away

   And he did expound all things, even from the beginning until the time that he should come in his glory—yea, even all things which should come upon the face of the earth, even until the elements should melt with fervent heat, and the earth should be wrapt together as a scroll, and the heavens and the earth should pass away;

   And even unto the great and last day, when all people, and all kindreds, and all nations and tongues shall stand before God, to be judged of their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil—

   אִם־טוֹבִיםim-to/VIMif they be goodלִתְחִיַּתlit/chiy/YATunto the resurrectionחַיֵּי־עוֹלָםchay/YE-o/LAMof everlasting lifeוְאִם־רָעִיםve/IM-ra/IMand if they be evilלִתְחִיַּתlit/chiy/YATunto the resurrectionהָאַשְׁמָהha/ash/MAof damnationוְהֵםve/HEMand theyמִקְבִּילִיםmik/bi/LIMbeing on a parallelזֶהzethe oneלָזֶהla/ZEon the otherכְּחֶסֶדke/CHE/sedaccording to the mercyוּמִשְׁפָּטu/mish/PATand the justiceוּקְדֻשָּׁהu/ke/dush/SHAand the holinessאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבַּמָּשִׁיחַbam/Ma/SHI/achis in Christאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָיָהha/YAwasלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהֱיוֹתhe/YOTthe beingהָעוֹלָם׃ha/o/LAMof the world

   If they be good, to the resurrection of everlasting life; and if they be evil, to the resurrection of damnation; being on a parallel, the one on the one hand and the other on the other hand, according to the mercy, and the justice, and the holiness which is in Christ, who was before the world began.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowלֹא־יוּכַלlo-yu/KHALthere cannotלְהִכָּתֵבle/hik/ka/TEVbe writtenבַּסֵּפֶרbas/SE/ferin the bookהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisגַּםgamevenמְאַתme/ATa hundredth partהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMof the thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלִמֵּדlim/MEDtaughtיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleבֶּאֱמֶת׃be/e/METtruly

   And now there cannot be written in this book even a hundredth part of the things which Jesus did truly teach unto the people;

   אֲבָלa/VALbutהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלֻחֹתlu/CHOTthe platesנֶפִיNE/fiof Nephiבָּהֶםba/HEMcontainרֹבrovthe more partהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMof the thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלִמֵּדlim/MEDhe taughtאֶת־הָעָם׃et-ha/AMthe people

   But behold the plates of Nephi do contain the more part of the things which he taught the people.

   וְאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםve/ET-had/de/va/RIMand the thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכָּתַבְתִּיka/TAV/tiI have writtenוְהֵםve/HEMand theyחֵלֶקCHE/leka partקָטָןka/TANlesserמֵהַדְּבָרִיםme/had/de/va/RIMof the thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלִמֵּדlim/MEDhe taughtאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleוָאֶכְתְּבֵםva/ekh/te/VEMand I wrote themלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיוּבְאוּyuv/Uthey might be broughtעוֹדodagainאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMunto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisמֵאֵתme/ETfromהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesכִּדְבַרkid/VARaccording to the wordיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aof Jesus

   And these things have I written, which are a lesser part of the things which he taught the people; and I have written them to the intent that they may be brought again unto this people, from the Gentiles, according to the words which Jesus hath spoken.

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenיְקַבְּלוּye/kab/be/LUthey shall have receivedאֶת־זֹאתet-zotthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָכוֹןna/KHONis expedientלְקַבֵּלle/kab/BELthat they should haveרִאשׁוֹנָהri/sho/NAfirstלִבְחֹןliv/CHONto tryאֶת־אֱמוּנָתָםet-e/mu/na/TAMtheir faithוְאִם־יַאֲמִינוּve/IM-ya/a/MI/nuand if it so be that they shall believeבַּדְּבָרִיםbad/de/va/RIMin the thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאָזazthenיִגָּלוּyig/ga/LUshall be made manifestלָהֶםla/HEMunto themהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהַגְּדוֹלִים׃hag/ge/do/LIMthe greater

   And when they shall have received this, which is expedient that they should have first, to try their faith, and if it shall so be that they shall believe these things then shall the greater things be made manifest unto them.

    וְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notיַאֲמִינוּya/a/MI/nuthey will believeבַּדְּבָרִיםbad/de/va/RIMin the thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאָזazthenיִמָּנְעוּyim/ma/ne/Ushall be withheldמֵהֶםme/HEMfrom themהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהַגְּדוֹלִיםhag/ge/do/LIMthe greaterלְאַשְׁמָתָם׃le/ash/ma/TAMunto their condemnation

    And if it so be that they will not believe these things, then shall the greater things be withheld from them, unto their condemnation.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEbeholdעָמַדְתִּיa/MAD/tiI was aboutלִכְתֹּבlikh/TOVto writeאֶת־כֻּלָּםet-kul/LAMall of themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichחֲרוּתִיםcha/ru/TIMwere engravenעַל־לֻחֹתal-lu/CHOTupon the platesנֶפִיNE/fiof Nephiאֲבָלa/VALbutאָסַרa/SARforbadeיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiעָלַיa/LAYmeלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאֶבְחַןev/CHANI will tryאֶת־אֱמוּנַתet-e/mu/NATthe faithעַמִּי׃am/MIof my people

    Behold, I was about to write them, all which were engraven upon the plates of Nephi, but the Lord forbade it, saying: I will try the faith of my people.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכּוֹתֵבko/TEVwriteאֲנִיa/NIIמוֹרְמוֹןMOR/monMormonאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצִוָּנִיtsiv/VA/nicommanded meיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiוְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowמְכַלֶּהme/khal/LEmake an endאֲנִיa/NIIמוֹרְמוֹןMOR/monMormonאֶת־דְּבָרַיet-de/va/RAYmy sayingsוּפוֹנֶהu/fo/NEand proceedלִכְתֹּבlikh/TOVto writeאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthat whichצֻוֵּיתִי׃tsuv/VE/tiI have been commanded

    Therefore I, Mormon, do write the things which have been commanded me of the Lord. And now I, Mormon, make an end of my sayings, and proceed to write the things which have been commanded me.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeרְצוֹנִיre/tso/NII wouldכִּיkithatתִרְאוּtir/Uyou should beholdכִּיkithatבֶּאֱמֶתbe/e/METtrulyלִמֵּדlim/MEDtaughtיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleשְׁלוֹשָׁהshe/lo/SHAfor the space of threeיָמִיםya/MIMdaysוְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand after thatנִרְאָהnir/Ashowed himselfאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyוַיִּבְצַעvay/yiv/TSAand brokeלֶחֶםLE/chembreadפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyוַיְבָרֵךְvay/va/REKHand blessedוַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand he gaveלָהֶם׃la/HEMthem

    Therefore, I would that ye should behold that the Lord truly did teach the people, for the space of three days; and after that he did show himself unto them oft, and did break bread oft, and bless it, and give it unto them.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenלִמֵּדlim/MEDhe taughtוַיְשָׁרֵתvay/sha/RETand he ministeredלְיַלְדֵיle/yal/DEunto the childrenהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONof the multitudeהַהוּאha/HUthatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whomדֻּבַּרdub/BARhas been spokenעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMconcerning themוַיַּתֵּרvay/yat/TERand he loosedאֶת־לְשׁוֹנָםet-le/sho/NAMtheir tonguesוַיְדַבְּרוּvay/dab/be/RUand they spokeאֶל־אֲבוֹתֵיהֶםel-a/vo/te/HEMto their fathersדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsגְּדוֹלִיםge/do/LIMgreatוְנִפְלָאִיםve/nif/la/IMand marvelousגְּדוֹלִיםge/do/LIMeven greaterמֵאֲשֶׁרme/a/SHERthanגִּלָּהgil/LAhe revealedלָעָםla/AMto the peopleוַיַּתֵּרvay/yat/TERand he loosedאֶת־לְשׁוֹנָםet-le/sho/NAMtheir tonguesלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיוּכְלוּyukh/LUthey couldלְהַבִּיעַ׃le/hab/BI/autter

    And it came to pass that he did teach and minister unto the children of the multitude of whom hath been spoken, and he did loose their tongues, and they did speak unto their fathers great and marvelous things, even greater than he had revealed unto the people; and he loosed their tongues that they could utter.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterעֲלוֹתוֹa/lo/TOhe ascendedהַשָּׁמַיְמָהhash/sha/MAY/mainto heavenבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amthe timeהַשְּׁנִיָּהhash/she/niy/YAthe secondאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנִגְלָהnig/LAshowed himselfלָהֶםla/HEMunto themוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentאֶל־הָאָבel-Ha/AVunto the Fatherאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterרַפְּאוֹrap/pe/Ohaving healedאֶת־כׇּל־חוֹלֵיהֶםet-kol-cho/le/HEMall their sickוְאֶת־פִּסְחֵיהֶםve/ET-pis/che/HEMand their lameוַיִּפְקַחvay/yif/KACHand openedאֶת־עֵינֵיet-e/NEthe eyesעִוְרֵיהֶםiv/re/HEMof their blindוַיִּפְתַּחvay/yif/TACHand unstoppedאֶת־אׇזְנֵיet-oz/NEthe earsחֵרְשֵׁיהֶםcher/she/HEMof the deafוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand even didבְּקִרְבָּםbe/kir/BAMamong themכׇּל־מִינֵיkol-mi/NEall mannerרְפוּאוֹתre/fu/OTof curesוַיְקִיםvay/KIMand raisedאִישׁisha manמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMfrom the deadוַיַּרְאֵםvay/yar/EMand showed forth unto themאֶת־גְּבוּרָתוֹet-ge/vu/ra/TOhis powerוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland ascendedאֶל־הָאָב׃el-Ha/AVunto the Father

    And it came to pass that after he had ascended into heaven—the second time that he showed himself unto them, and had gone unto the Father, after having healed all their sick, and their lame, and opened the eyes of their blind and unstopped the ears of the deaf, and even had done all manner of cures among them, and raised a man from the dead, and had shown forth his power unto them, and had ascended unto the Father—

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedלְמׇחֳרָתle/mo/cho/RATon the morrowוַיִּקָּהֵלvay/yik/ka/HELand there assembledהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe multitudeוַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand they sawוַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand they heardאֶת־הַיְלָדִיםet-hay/la/DIMthe childrenהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseגַּםgamevenפָּתְחוּpa/te/CHUopenedעוֹלָלִיםo/la/LIMbabesאֶת־פִּיהֶםet-pi/HEMtheir mouthsוַיַּבִּיעוּvay/yab/BI/uand utteredדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsנִפְלָאִיםnif/la/IMmarvelousוְנֶאֶסְרוּve/ne/es/RUand they were forbiddenהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהִבִּיעוּhib/bi/Uthey utteredמִלִּכְתֹּבmil/likh/TOVthat should not writeאִישׁ׃ishany man

    Behold, it came to pass on the morrow that the multitude gathered themselves together, and they both saw and heard these children; yea, even babes did open their mouths and utter marvelous things; and the things which they did utter were forbidden that there should not any man write them.

    וַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luand beganהַתַּלְמִידִיםhat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּחַר־בָּםba/CHAR-bamchoseיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusמֵהָעֵתme/ha/ETfrom the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatלְהַטְבִּילle/hat/BILto baptizeוּלְלַמֵּדu/le/lam/MEDand to teachאֶת־כׇּל־הַבָּאִיםet-kol-hab/ba/IMas many as cameאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themוְנִמְלְאוּve/nim/le/Uand were filledכׇל־הַנִּטְבָּלִיםkhol-han/nit/ba/LIMall who were baptizedבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the nameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aof Jesusרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃RU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Ghost

    And it came to pass that the disciples whom Jesus had chosen began from that time forth to baptize and to teach as many as did come unto them; and as many as were baptized in the name of Jesus were filled with the Holy Ghost.

    וַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand they sawרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵהֶםme/HEMof themוַיִּשְׁמְעוּvay/yish/me/Uand they heardדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹא־נִתַּןlo-nit/TANcannot beלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERutteredוַאֲסוּרִיםva/a/su/RIMwhich are not lawfulלִכְתֹּב׃likh/TOVto write

    And many of them saw and heard unspeakable things, which are not lawful to be written.

    וַיְלַמְּדוּvay/lam/me/DUand they taughtוַיְשָׁרְתוּvay/sha/re/TUand ministeredאִישׁishoneאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huto anotherוַיְהִיvay/HIand there wasכׇּל־דָּבָרkol-da/VARall thingsיַחְדָּוyach/DAVcommonבֵּינֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMamong themוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand dealtאִישׁishevery manצְדָקָהtse/da/KAjustlyאִישׁishoneעִם־רֵעֵהוּ׃im-re/E/huwith another

    And they taught, and did minister one to another; and they had all things common among them, every man dealing justly, one with another.

    וַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they didכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatצִוָּםtsiv/VAMcommanded themיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    And it came to pass that they did do all things even as Jesus had commanded them.

    וַיִּקָּרְאוּvay/yik/ka/re/Uand they were calledהַנִּטְבָּלִיםhan/nit/ba/LIMthose who were baptizedבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the nameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aof Jesusקְהִלַּתke/hil/LATthe churchהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achof Christ

    And they who were baptized in the name of Jesus were called the church of Christ.
