   And now it came to pass that when Jesus had ascended into heaven, the multitude did disperse, and every man did take his wife and his children and did return to his own home.

   And it was noised abroad among the people immediately, before it was yet dark, that the multitude had seen Jesus, and that he had ministered unto them, and that he would also show himself on the morrow unto the multitude.

   Yea, and even all the night it was noised abroad concerning Jesus; and insomuch did they send forth unto the people that there were many, yea, an exceedingly great number, did labor exceedingly all that night, that they might be on the morrow in the place where Jesus should show himself unto the multitude.

   And it came to pass that on the morrow, when the multitude was gathered together, behold, Nephi and his brother whom he had raised from the dead, whose name was Timothy, and also his son, whose name was Jonas, and also Mathoni, and Mathonihah, his brother, and Kumen, and Kumenonhi, and Jeremiah, and Shemnon, and Jonas, and Zedekiah, and Isaiah—now these were the names of the disciples whom Jesus had chosen—and it came to pass that they went forth and stood in the midst of the multitude.

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdרַבravgreatהַקָּהָלhak/ka/HALthe multitudeמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוַיַּחְלְקוּםvay/yach/le/KUMand they separated themלִשְׁתֵּיםlish/TEMinto twoעֶשְׂרֵהes/REtenמַחְלְקוֹת׃mach/le/KOTbodies

   And behold, the multitude was so great that they did cause that they should be separated into twelve bodies.

   וַיְלַמְּדוּvay/lam/me/DUand they taughtהַשְּׁנֵיםhash/she/NEMthe twoעָשָׂרa/SARtenאֶת־הַקָּהָלet-hak/ka/HALthe multitudeוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdהִכְרִיעוּhikh/ri/Uthey caused to kneel downאֶת־הַקָּהָלet-hak/ka/HALthe multitudeעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the faceהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAof the earthלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELto prayאֶל־הָאָבel-Ha/AVunto the Fatherבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the nameיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aof Jesus

   And the twelve did teach the multitude; and behold, they did cause that the multitude should kneel down upon the face of the earth, and should pray unto the Father in the name of Jesus.

   וַיִּתְפַּלְלוּvay/yit/pal/LUand they prayedגַם־הַתַּלְמִידִיםgam-hat/tal/mi/DIMalso the disciplesאֶל־הָאָבel-Ha/AVunto the Fatherבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the nameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aof Jesusוַיָּקוּמוּvay/ya/KU/muand they aroseוַיְשָׁרְתוּvay/sha/re/TUand ministeredאֶת־הָעָם׃et-ha/AMunto the people

   And the disciples did pray unto the Father also in the name of Jesus. And it came to pass that they arose and ministered unto the people.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenשֵׁרְתוּsher/TUthey ministeredבַּדְּבָרִיםbad/de/va/RIMwith the wordsהָהֵםha/HEMthose sameאֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּרa/SHER-dib/BERwhich spokeיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלֹא־סָרוּlo-SA/ruthey did not varyמִדִּבְרֵיmid/div/REfrom the wordsיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aof Jesusוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdכָּרְעוּka/re/Uthey kneltשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainוַיִּתְפַּלְלוּvay/yit/pal/LUand they prayedאֶל־הָאָבel-Ha/AVunto the Fatherבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the nameיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aof Jesus

   And when they had ministered those same words which Jesus had spoken—nothing varying from the words which Jesus had spoken—behold, they knelt again and prayed to the Father in the name of Jesus.

   וַיִּתְפַּלְלוּvay/yit/pal/LUand they prayedעַל־אֲשֶׁרal-a/SHERfor that whichחָפְצוּcha/fe/TSUthey desiredמְאֹדme/ODmostוַיַּחְפְּצוּvay/yach/pe/TSUand they desiredכִּיkithatיִנָּתֵןyin/na/TENshould be givenלָהֶםla/HEMthemרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃RU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Ghost

   And they did pray for that which they most desired; and they desired that the Holy Ghost should be given unto them.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenהִתְפַּלְלוּhit/pal/LUthey prayedכֵןkhenthusוַיֵּרְדוּvay/yer/DUand they went downאֶל־שְׂפַתel-se/FATunto the edgeהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimof the watersוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand followedהַקָּהָלhak/ka/HALthe multitudeאַחֲרֵיהֶם׃a/cha/re/HEMafter them

    And when they had thus prayed they went down unto the water’s edge, and the multitude followed them.

    וַיֵּרֶדvay/YE/redand went downנֶפִיNE/fiNephiאֶל־הַמַּיִםel-ham/MA/yiminto the waterוַיִּטָּבֵל׃vay/yit/ta/VELand was baptized

    And it came to pass that Nephi went down into the water and was baptized.

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland he came upמִן־הַמַּיִםmin-ham/MA/yimout of the waterוַיָּחֶלvay/YA/cheland beganלְהַטְבִּילle/hat/BILto baptizeוַיַּטְבֵּלvay/yat/BELand baptizedאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall those whomבָּחַרba/CHARchoseיֵשׁוּעַ׃Ye/SHU/aJesus

    And he came up out of the water and began to baptize. And he baptized all those whom Jesus had chosen.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenנִטְבְּלוּnit/be/LUwere baptizedכֻלָּםkhul/LAMallוַיַּעֲלוּvay/ya/a/LUand came upמִן־הַמַּיִםmin-ham/MA/yimout of the waterוַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand fellעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshthe Holy Ghostוַיִּמָּלְאוּvay/yim/ma/le/Uand they were filledרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshwith the Holy Ghostוָאֵשׁ׃va/ESHand with fire

    And it came to pass when they were all baptized and had come up out of the water, the Holy Ghost did fall upon them, and they were filled with the Holy Ghost and with fire.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdהֻקְּפוּhuk/ke/FUthey were encircled aboutכְּמוֹke/MOas ifבָאֵשׁva/ESHwith fireוַתֵּרֶדvat/TE/redand it came downמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenוַיַּרְאvay/YARand witnessedהַקָּהָלhak/ka/HALthe multitudeוַיָּעִידוּvay/ya/I/duand testifiedוַיֵּרְדוּvay/yer/DUand came downמַלְאָכִיםmal/a/KHIMangelsמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimout of heavenוַיְשָׁרְתוּם׃vay/sha/re/TUMand ministered unto them

    And behold, they were encircled about as if it were by fire; and it came down from heaven, and the multitude did witness it, and did bear record; and angels did come down out of heaven and did minister unto them.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedבִּהְיוֹתbih/YOTwhile wereהַמַּלְאָכִיםham/mal/a/KHIMthe angelsמְשָׁרְתִיםme/sha/re/TIMministering untoאֶת־הַתַּלְמִידִיםet-hat/tal/mi/DIMthe disciplesוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdבָּאbacameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodבַּתָּוֶךְbat/TA/vekhin the midstוַיְשָׁרֵתvay/sha/RETand he ministeredאוֹתָם׃o/TAMunto them

    And it came to pass that while the angels were ministering unto the disciples, behold, Jesus came and stood in the midst and ministered unto them.

16. 16

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand he spokeאֶל־הַקָּהָלel-hak/ka/HALunto the multitudeוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand he commandedאֹתָםo/TAMthemלִכְרֹעַlikh/RO/athat they should kneel downשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainאַרְצָהAR/tsaupon the earthוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶת־תַּלְמִידָיוet-tal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesלִכְרֹעַlikh/RO/athat they should kneel downאַרְצָה׃AR/tsaupon the earth

    And it came to pass that he spake unto the multitude, and commanded them that they should kneel down again upon the earth, and also that his disciples should kneel down upon the earth.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenכָּרְעוּka/re/Uthey had knelt downכֻלָּםkhul/LAMallאַרְצָהAR/tsaupon the earthוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand he commandedאֶת־תַּלְמִידָיוet-tal/mi/DAYVhis disciplesלְהִתְפַּלֵּל׃le/hit/pal/LELthat they should pray

    And it came to pass that when they had all knelt down upon the earth, he commanded his disciples that they should pray.

18. 18

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdהֵחֵלּוּhe/CHEL/luthey beganלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELto prayוַיִּתְפַּלְלוּvay/yit/pal/LUand they prayedאֶל־יֵשׁוּעַel-Ye/SHU/ato Jesusוַיִּקְרְאוּvay/yik/re/Uand they calledלוֹlohimאֲדֹנָםa/do/NAMtheir Lordוֵאלֹהֵיהֶם׃ve/lo/he/HEMand their God

    And behold, they began to pray; and they did pray unto Jesus, calling him their Lord and their God.

19. 19

    וַיָּסַרvay/YA/sarand departedיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusמִתּוֹכָםmit/to/KHAMfrom among themוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentמְעַטme/ATa little wayהָלְאָהHAL/aoffמֵהֶםme/HEMfrom themוַיִּשְׁתַּחוּvay/yish/TA/chuand bowed himselfאַרְצָהAR/tsato the earthוַיֹּאמַר׃vay/yo/MARand said

    And it came to pass that Jesus departed out of the midst of them, and went a little way off from them and bowed himself to the earth, and he said:

    אָבִיA/VImy Fatherאוֹדְךָod/KHAI thank youכִּיkithatנָתַתָּna/TAT/tayou gaveאֶת־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁet-RU/ach-hak/KO/deshthe Holy Ghostלָאֵלֶּהla/EL/leunto theseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomבָּחָרְתִּיba/CHAR/tiI choseוּבַעֲבוּרu/va/a/VURand becauseאֱמוּנָתָםe/mu/na/TAMof their beliefבִּיbiin meבָּחַרְתִּיba/CHAR/tiI choseאוֹתָםo/TAMthemמִן־הָעוֹלָם׃min-ha/o/LAMout of the world

    Father, I thank thee that thou hast given the Holy Ghost unto these whom I have chosen; and it is because of their belief in me that I have chosen them out of the world.

21. 21

    אָבִיA/VImy Fatherמִתְפַּלֵּלmit/pal/LELprayאֲנִיa/NIIאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khaunto youכִּיkithatתִתֵּןtit/TENyou will giveאֶת־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁet-RU/ach-hak/KO/deshthe Holy Ghostלְכׇל־הַמַּאֲמִינִיםle/KHOL-ham/ma/a/mi/NIMunto all them that shall believeבְּדִבְרֵיהֶם׃be/div/re/HEMin their words

    Father, I pray thee that thou wilt give the Holy Ghost unto all them that shall believe in their words.

    Father, thou hast given them the Holy Ghost because they believe in me; and thou seest that they believe in me because thou hearest them, and they pray unto me; and they pray unto me because I am with them.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאָבִיA/VImy Fatherמִתְפַּלֵּלmit/pal/LELprayאֲנִיa/NIIבַּעֲדָםba/a/DAMfor themוְגַםve/GAMand alsoבְּעַדbe/ADforכׇּל־הַמַּאֲמִינִיםkol-ham/ma/a/mi/NIMall those who shall believeבְּדִבְרֵיהֶםbe/div/re/HEMon their wordsלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיַאֲמִינוּya/a/MI/nuthey may believeבִיviin meלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatאֶשְׁכֹּןesh/KONI may beבְּקִרְבָּםbe/kir/BAMin themכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאַתָּהat/TAyouאָבִיA/VImy Fatherבִיviare in meלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatנִהְיֶהnih/YEwe may beלְאֶחָד׃le/e/CHADone

    And now Father, I pray unto thee for them, and also for all those who shall believe on their words, that they may believe in me, that I may be in them as thou, Father, art in me, that we may be one.

    And it came to pass that when Jesus had thus prayed unto the Father, he came unto his disciples, and behold, they did still continue, without ceasing, to pray unto him; and they did not multiply many words, for it was given unto them what they should pray, and they were filled with desire.

    And it came to pass that Jesus blessed them as they did pray unto him; and his countenance did smile upon them, and the light of his countenance did shine upon them, and behold they were as white as the countenance and also the garments of Jesus; and behold the whiteness thereof did exceed all the whiteness, yea, even there could be nothing upon earth so white as the whiteness thereof.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themהוֹסִיפוּho/si/FUcontinueלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELto prayוְלֹאve/LOand notחָדְלוּcha/de/LUceasedמִתְּפִלָּה׃mit/te/fil/LAfrom praying

    And Jesus said unto them: Pray on; nevertheless they did not cease to pray.

    וַיִּפֶןvay/YI/fenand he turnedמֵהֶםme/HEMfrom themשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentמְעַטme/ATa little wayהָלְאָהHAL/aoffוַיִּשְׁתַּחוּvay/yish/TA/chuand bowed himselfאַרְצָהAR/tsato the earthוַיִּתְפַּלֵּלvay/yit/pal/LELand he prayedשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainאֶל־הָאָבel-Ha/AVunto the Fatherלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And he turned from them again, and went a little way off and bowed himself to the earth; and he prayed again unto the Father, saying:

    אָבִיA/VImy Fatherאוֹדְךָod/KHAI thank youכִּיkithatטִהַרְתָּti/har/TAyou purifiedאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthose whomבָּחַרְתִּיba/CHAR/tiI choseבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofאֱמוּנָתָםe/mu/na/TAMtheir faithוּמִתְפַּלֵּלu/mit/pal/LELand prayאֲנִיa/NIIבַּעֲדָםba/a/DAMfor themוּבְעַדu/ve/ADand also forהַמַּאֲמִינִיםham/ma/a/mi/NIMthem who shall believeבְּדִבְרֵיהֶםbe/div/re/HEMon their wordsלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִטָּהֲרוּyit/ta/ha/RUthey may be purifiedבִיviin meבֶּאֱמוּנָתָםbe/e/mu/na/TAMthrough their faithבְּדִבְרֵיהֶםbe/div/re/HEMon their wordsכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHEReven asטָהֲרוּta/ha/RUthey are purifiedבִי׃viin me

    Father, I thank thee that thou hast purified those whom I have chosen, because of their faith, and I pray for them, and also for them who shall believe on their words, that they may be purified in me, through faith on their words, even as they are purified in me.

    אָבִיA/VImy Fatherלֹאlonotבְעַדve/ADforהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMthe worldאֶתְפַּלֵּלet/pal/LELI prayכִּי־אִםki-imbutבְּעַדbe/ADforאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthose whomנָתַתָּna/TAT/tayou gaveלִיlimeמִן־הָעוֹלָםmin-ha/o/LAMout of the worldבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofאֱמוּנָתָםe/mu/na/TAMtheir faithלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִטָּהֲרוּyit/ta/ha/RUthey may be purifiedבִיviin meלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatאֶשְׁכֹּןesh/KONI may beבְּקִרְבָּםbe/kir/BAMin themכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאַתָּהat/TAyouאָבִיA/VImy Fatherבִּיbiare in meלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatנִהְיֶהnih/YEwe may beלְאֶחָדle/e/CHADoneלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatאֶתְכַּבֵּדet/kab/BEDI may be glorifiedבָּם׃bamin them

    Father, I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me out of the world, because of their faith, that they may be purified in me, that I may be in them as thou, Father, art in me, that we may be one, that I may be glorified in them.

30. 30

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכְּכַלּוֹתke/khal/LOTwhen finishedיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainאֶל־תַּלְמִידָיוel-tal/mi/DAYVto his disciplesוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdהִתְפַּלְלוּhit/pal/LUthey prayedבְּחׇזְקָהbe/choz/KAsteadfastlyבְּלֹאbe/LOwithoutחֲדֹלcha/DOLceasingאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himוַיָּאֶרvay/YA/erand did smileפָּנָיוpa/NAYVhis countenanceעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdהָיוּha/YUthey wereלְבָנִיםle/va/NIMwhiteכְּיֵשׁוּעַ׃ke/Ye/SHU/aeven as Jesus

    And when Jesus had spoken these words he came again unto his disciples; and behold they did pray steadfastly, without ceasing, unto him; and he did smile upon them again; and behold they were white, even as Jesus.

31. 31

    וַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand he wentשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainמְעַטme/ATa little wayהָלְאָהHAL/aoffוַיִּתְפַּלֵּלvay/yit/pal/LELand he prayedאֶל־הָאָב׃el-Ha/AVunto the Father

    And it came to pass that he went again a little way off and prayed unto the Father;

32. 32

    וְלֹאve/LOand notתוּכַלtu/KHALcanלָשׁוֹןla/SHONtongueלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהִתְפַּלֵּלhit/pal/LELhe prayedוְלֹא־יוּכַלve/LO-yu/KHALneither canאָדָםa/DAMmanלִכְתֹּבlikh/TOVto writeאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהִתְפַּלֵּל׃hit/pal/LELhe prayed

    And tongue cannot speak the words which he prayed, neither can be written by man the words which he prayed.

33. 33

    וַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand heardהַקָּהָלhak/ka/HALthe multitudeוַיָּעִידוּvay/ya/I/duand testifiedוַיִּפָּתְחוּvay/yip/pa/te/CHUand were openedלִבּוֹתָםlib/bo/TAMtheir heartsוַיָּבִינוּvay/ya/VI/nuand they understoodבִלְבָבָםvil/va/VAMin their heartsאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהִתְפַּלֵּל׃hit/pal/LELhe prayed

    And the multitude did hear and do bear record; and their hearts were open and they did understand in their hearts the words which he prayed.

34. 34

    אַךְakhneverthelessגְּדֹלִיםge/do/LIMso greatוְנִפְלָאִיםve/nif/la/IMand marvelousהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהִתְפַּלֵּלhit/pal/LELhe prayedעַד־כִּיad-kiinsomuch thatלֹא־יוּכְלוּlo-yukh/LUthey cannotלְהִכָּתֵבle/hik/ka/TEVbe writtenוְלֹא־יוּכַלve/LO-yu/KHALneither canאָדָםa/DAMmanלְהַבִּיעָם׃le/hab/bi/AMto utter them

    Nevertheless, so great and marvelous were the words which he prayed that they cannot be written, neither can they be uttered by man.

35. 35

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכְּכַלּוֹתke/khal/LOTwhen made an endיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELto prayוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainאֶל־הַתַּלְמִידִיםel-hat/tal/mi/DIMunto the disciplesוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatכָּזֹאתka/ZOTsuch as thisלֹאlonotרָאִיתִיra/I/tihave I seenבְּכׇל־הַיְּהוּדִיםbe/KHOL-hay/ye/hu/DIMamong all the Jewsלָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeלֹא־יָכֹלְתִּיlo-ya/KHOL/tiI could notלְהַרְאוֹתle/har/OTto showלָהֶםla/HEMthemנִפְלָאוֹתnif/la/OTmiraclesגְּדוֹלוֹתge/do/LOTgreatכָּאֵלֶּהka/EL/lesuch as theseבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofמַעֲלָם׃ma/a/LAMtheir unbelief

    And it came to pass that when Jesus had made an end of praying he came again to the disciples, and said unto them: So great faith have I never seen among all the Jews; wherefore I could not show unto them so great miracles, because of their unbelief.

    אָמֵןa/MENverilyאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMto youאֵיןenthere are noneבָּהֶםba/HEMof themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאוּra/Usawדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsגְּדוֹלִיםge/do/LIMso greatכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasרְאִיתֶםre/i/TEMyou sawוְלֹאve/LOneitherשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uhave they heardדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsגְּדוֹלִיםge/do/LIMso greatכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasשְׁמַעְתֶּם׃she/ma/TEMyou heard

    Verily I say unto you, there are none of them that have seen so great things as ye have seen; neither have they heard so great things as ye have heard.
