   וְאָזve/AZand thenאָשִׁירָהa/SHI/rawill I singלִידִידִיli/di/DIto my well-belovedשִׁירַתshi/RATa songדּוֹדִיdo/DIof my belovedלְכַרְמוֹle/khar/MOtouching his vineyardכֶּרֶםKE/rema vineyardהָיָהha/YAhasלִידִידִיli/di/DIto my belovedבְּקֶרֶןbe/KE/renon a hillבֶּן־שָׁמֶן׃ben-SHA/menvery fruitful

   And then will I sing to my well-beloved a song of my beloved, touching his vineyard. My well-beloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill.

   וַיְעַזְּקֵהוּvay/az/ze/KE/huand he fenced itוַיְסַקְּלֵהוּvay/sak/ke/LE/huand gathered out the stonesוַיִּטָּעֵהוּvay/yit/ta/E/huand planted itשֹׂרֵקso/REKwith the choicest vineוַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand builtמִגְדָּלmig/DALtowerבְּתוֹכוֹbe/to/KHOin the midst of itוְגַם־יֶקֶבve/GAM-YE/kevand also a winepressחָצֵבcha/TSEVmadeבּוֹbothereinוַיְקַוvay/KAVand he lookedלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTthat it should bring forthעֲנָבִיםa/na/VIMgrapesוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand it brought forthבְּאֻשִׁים׃be/u/SHIMwild grapes

   And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a wine-press therein; and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVO inhabitantיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimof Jerusalemוְאִישׁve/ISHand manיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAof Judahשִׁפְטוּ־נָאshif/TU-najudge I pray youבֵּינִיbe/NIbetween meוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenכַּרְמִי׃kar/MImy vineyard

   And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.

   מַה־לַּעֲשׂוֹתma-la/a/SOTwhat could be doneעוֹדodmoreלְכַרְמִיle/khar/MIfor my vineyardוְלֹאve/LOthat I have notעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tidoneבּוֹboin itמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhereforeקִוֵּיתִיkiv/VE/tiI lookedלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTthat it should bring forthעֲנָבִיםa/na/VIMgrapesוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand it brought forthבְּאֻשִׁים׃be/u/SHIMwild grapes

   What could have been done more to my vineyard that I have not done in it? Wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes it brought forth wild grapes.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאוֹדִיעָה־נָּאo/DI/a-naI will tellאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִיet-a/SHER-a/NIwhat Iעֹשֶׂהo/SEwill doלְכַרְמִיle/khar/MIto my vineyardהָסֵרha/SERI will take awayמְשׂוּכָּתוֹme/suk/ka/TOits hedgeוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beלְבָעֵרle/va/EReaten upפָּרֹץpa/ROTSI will break downגְּדֵרוֹge/de/ROits wallוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beלְמִרְמָס׃le/mir/MAStrodden down

   And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard—I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and I will break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down;

6. 6

   וַאֲשִׁיתֵהוּva/a/shi/TE/huand I will lay itבָתָהva/TAwasteלֹאloit shall notיִזָּמֵרyiz/za/MERbe prunedוְלֹאve/LOnorיֵעָדֵרye/a/DERdiggedוְעָלָהve/a/LAbut shall come upשָׁמִירsha/MIRbriersוָשָׁיִתva/SHA/yitand thornsוְעַלve/ALand uponהֶעָבִיםhe/a/VIMthe cloudsאֲצַוֶּהa/tsav/VEI will also commandמֵהַמְטִירme/ham/TIRfrom rainingעָלָיוa/LAYVupon itמָטָר׃ma/TARrain

   And I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns; I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

   כִּיkiforכֶרֶםKHE/remthe vineyardיְהוָהAdonaiof AdonaiצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsבֵּית־יִשְׂרָאֵלbet-Yis/ra/ELis the house of Israelוְאִישׁve/ISHand the menיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAof Judahנְטַעne/TAthe plantingשַׁעֲשׁוּעָיוsha/a/shu/AYVof his delightsוַיְקַוvay/KAVand he lookedלְמִשְׁפָּטle/mish/PATto judgmentוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdמִשְׂפָּחmis/PACHoppressionלִצְדָקָהlits/da/KAfor righteousnessוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEbut beholdצְעָקָה׃tse/a/KAa cry

   For the vineyard of the Lord of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant; and he looked for judgment, and behold, oppression; for righteousness, but behold, a cry.

   הוֹיhoywoמַגִּיעֵיmag/gi/Eunto those who joinבַיִתVA/yithouseבְּבַיִתbe/VA/yitto houseעַדaduntilאֶפֶסE/festhere be noמָקוֹםma/KOMplaceוְהוּשַׁבְתֶּםve/hu/shav/TEMthat you may be placedלְבַדְּכֶםle/vad/de/KHEMaloneבְּקֶרֶבbe/KE/revin the midstהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsof the earth

   Wo unto them that join house to house, till there can be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!

9. 9

   בְּאׇזְנָיbe/oz/NAYin my earsאָמַרa/MARsaidיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsאִם־לֹאim-loif notבָּתִּיםbat/TIMhousesרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyלְשַׁמָּהle/sham/MAmade desolateיִהְיוּyih/YUthen they shall beוְעָרִיםve/a/RIMand citiesגְּדֹלוֹתge/do/LOTgreatוְטוֹבוֹתve/to/VOTand fairמֵאֵיןme/ENwithoutיוֹשֵׁב׃yo/SHEVinhabitant

   In mine ears, said the Lord of Hosts, of a truth many houses shall be desolate, and great and fair cities without inhabitant.

10. 10

    כִּיkiforעֲשֶׂרֶתa/SE/rettenצִמְדֵּי־כֶרֶםtsim/DE-KHE/remacres of vineyardיַעֲשׂוּya/a/SUthey shall yieldבַּתbata bathאֶחָתe/CHAToneוְזֶרַעve/ZE/raand the seedחֹמֶרCHO/merof a homerיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEhe shall yieldאֵיפָה׃e/FAan ephah

    Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of a homer shall yield an ephah.

11. 11

    הוֹיhoywoמַשְׁכִּימֵיmash/ki/MEunto them that rise up earlyבַבֹּקֶרvab/BO/kerin the morningשֵׁכָרshe/KHARstrong drinkיִרְדֹּפוּyir/DO/futhat they may followמְאַחֲרֵיme/a/cha/REthat continueבַנֶּשֶׁףvan/NE/shefuntil nightיַיִןYA/yinwineיַדְלִיקֵם׃yad/li/KEMinflame them

    Wo unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink, that continue until night, and wine inflame them!

12. 12

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand areכִנּוֹרkhin/NORthe harpוָנֶבֶלva/NE/veland the violתֹּףtofthe tabretוְחָלִילve/cha/LILand pipeוָיַיִןva/YA/yinand wineמִשְׁתֵּיהֶםmish/te/HEMin their feastsוְאֵתve/ETbutפֹּעַלPO/althe workיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiלֹאlonotיַבִּיטוּyab/BI/tudo they regardוּמַעֲשֵׂהu/ma/a/SEnor the operationיָדָיוya/DAYVof his handsלֹא־רָאוּ׃lo-ra/Uneither do they see

    And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands.

13. 13

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeגָּלָהga/LAwent into captivityעַמִּיam/MImy peopleמִבְּלִי־דָעַתmib/be/LI-DA/atbecause of no knowledgeוּכְבוֹדוֹu/khe/vo/DOand his honorableמְתֵיme/TEare menרָעָבra/AVof hungerוַהֲמוֹנוֹva/ha/mo/NOand his multitudeצִחֵהtsi/CHEparched withצָמָא׃tsa/MAthirst

    Therefore, my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

14. 14

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִרְחִיבָהhir/CHI/vaenlargedשְּׁאוֹלshe/OLhellנַפְשָׁהּnaf/SHAherselfוּפָעֲרָהu/fa/a/RAand openedפִיהָFI/haher mouthלִבְלִי־חֹקliv/LI-chokwithout measureוְיָרַדve/ya/RADand shall descendהֲדָרָהּha/da/RAtheir gloryוַהֲמוֹנָהּva/ha/mo/NAand their multitudeוּשְׁאוֹנָהּu/she/o/NAand their pompוְעָלֵזve/a/LEZand he that rejoicesבָּהּ׃bainto it

    Therefore, hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure; and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

15. 15

    וַיִּשַּׁחvay/yish/SHACHand shall be brought downאָדָםa/DAMthe mean manוַיִּשְׁפַּלvay/yish/PALand shall be humbledאִישׁishthe mighty manוְעֵינֵיve/e/NEand the eyesגְבֹהִיםge/vo/HIMof the loftyתִּשְׁפַּלְנָה׃tish/PAL/nathey shall be humbled

    And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled.

16. 16

    וַיִּגְבַּהּvay/yig/BAbut shall be exaltedיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsבַּמִּשְׁפָּטbam/mish/PATin judgmentוְהָאֵלve/ha/ELand Godהַקָּדוֹשׁhak/ka/DOSHthat is holyנִקְדָּשׁnik/DASHshall be sanctifiedבִּצְדָקָה׃bits/da/KAin righteousness

    But the Lord of Hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

17. 17

    וְרָעוּve/ra/Uthen shall feedכְבָשִׂיםkhe/va/SIMthe lambsכְּדׇבְרָםke/dov/RAMafter their mannerוְחׇרְבוֹתve/chor/VOTand the waste placesמֵחִיםme/CHIMof the fat onesגָּרִיםga/RIMstrangersיֹאכֵלוּ׃yo/KHE/lushall eat

    Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.

18. 18

    הוֹיhoywoמֹשְׁכֵיmosh/KHEunto them that drawהֶעָוֹןhe/a/VONiniquityבְּחַבְלֵיbe/chav/LEwith cordsהַשָּׁוְאhash/SHAVof the vanityוְכַעֲבוֹתve/kha/a/VOTand as it were with a ropeהָעֲגָלָהha/a/ga/LAof the cartחַטָּאָה׃chat/ta/Asin

    Wo unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope;

19. 19

    הָאֹמְרִיםha/om/RIMthat sayיְמַהֵרye/ma/HERlet him make speedיָחִישָׁהya/CHI/shalet him hastenמַעֲשֵׂהוּma/a/SE/huhis workלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatנִרְאֶהnir/Ewe may seeוְתִקְרַבve/tik/RAVand let draw nighוְתָבוֹאָהve/ta/VO/aand comeעֲצַתa/TSATthe counselקְדוֹשׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵלke/DOSH-Yis/ra/ELof the Holy One of Israelוְנֵדָעָה׃ve/ne/DA/athat we may know it

    That say: Let him make speed, hasten his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it.

20. 20

    הוֹיhoywoהָאֹמְרִיםha/om/RIMunto them that callלָרַעla/RAevilטוֹבtovgoodוְלַטּוֹבve/lat/TOVand goodרָעraevilשָׂמִיםsa/MIMthat putחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhdarknessלְאוֹרle/ORfor lightוְאוֹרve/ORand lightלְחֹשֶׁךְle/CHO/shekhfor darknessשָׂמִיםsa/MIMthat putמַרmarbitterלְמָתוֹקle/ma/TOKfor sweetוּמָתוֹקu/ma/TOKand sweetלְמָר׃le/MARfor bitter

    Wo unto them that call evil good, and good evil, that put darkness for light, and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

21. 21

    הוֹיhoywoחֲכָמִיםcha/kha/MIMunto the wiseבְּעֵינֵיהֶםbe/e/ne/HEMin their own eyesוְנֶגֶדve/NE/gedand inפְּנֵיהֶםpe/ne/HEMtheir own sightנְבֹנִים׃ne/vo/NIMprudent

    Wo unto the wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight!

22. 22

    הוֹיhoywoגִּבּוֹרִיםgib/bo/RIMunto the mightyלִשְׁתּוֹתlish/TOTto drinkיָיִןYA/yinwineוְאַנְשֵׁי־חַיִלve/an/SHE-CHA/yiland men of strengthלִמְסֹךְlim/SOKHto mingleשֵׁכָר׃she/KHARstrong drink

    Wo unto the mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;

23. 23

    מַצְדִּיקֵיmats/di/KEwho justifyרָשָׁעra/SHAthe wickedעֵקֶבE/kevforשֹׁחַדSHO/chadrewardוְצִדְקַתve/tsid/KATand the righteousnessצַדִּיקִיםtsad/di/KIMof the righteousיָסִירוּya/SI/ruthey take awayמִמֶּנּוּ׃mim/MEN/nufrom him

    Who justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

24. 24

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֶּאֱכֹלke/e/KHOLas devoursקַשׁkashthe stubbleלְשׁוֹןle/SHONthe tongueאֵשׁeshof fireוַחֲשַׁשׁva/cha/SHASHand as the chaffלֶהָבָהle/ha/VAa flameיִרְפֶּהyir/PEis consumedשׇׁרְשָׁםshor/SHAMtheir rootכַּמָּקkam/MAKrottennessיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beוּפִרְחֵיהֶםu/fir/che/HEMand their blossomsכָּאָבָקka/a/VAKas dustיַעֲלֶהya/a/LEshall go upכִּיkibecauseמָאֲסוּma/a/SUthey cast awayאֵת־תּוֹרַתet-to/RATthe lawיְהוָהAdonaiof AdonaiצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsוְאֵתve/ETandאִמְרַתim/RATthe wordקְדוֹשׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵלke/DOSH-Yis/ra/ELof the Holy One of Israelנִאֵצוּ׃ni/E/tsuthey despised

    Therefore, as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, their root shall be rottenness, and their blossoms shall go up as dust; because they have cast away the law of the Lord of Hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

25. 25

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeחָרָהcha/RAis kindledאַף־יְהוָהaf-Adonaithe anger of Adonaiבְּעַמּוֹbe/am/MOagainst his peopleוַיֵּטvay/YETand he stretched forthיָדוֹya/DOhis handעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst themוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/huand smote themוַיִּרְגְּזוּvay/yir/ge/ZUand trembledהֶהָרִיםhe/ha/RIMthe hillsוַתְּהִיvat/te/HIand wereנִבְלָתָםniv/la/TAMtheir carcassesכַּסּוּחָהkas/su/CHAtornבְּקֶרֶבbe/KE/revin the midstחוּצוֹתchu/TSOTof the streetsבְּכׇל־זֹאתbe/KHOL-zotfor all thisלֹא־שָׁבlo-shavis not turned awayאַפּוֹap/POhis angerוְעוֹדve/ODbut stillיָדוֹya/DOhis handנְטוּיָה׃ne/tu/YAis stretched out

    Therefore, is the anger of the Lord kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them; and the hills did tremble, and their carcasses were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

26. 26

    וְנָשָׂא־נֵסve/na/SA-nesand he will lift up an ensignלַגּוֹיִםlag/go/YIMto the nationsמֵרָחוֹקme/ra/CHOKfrom farוְשָׁרַקve/SHA/rakand will hissלוֹlounto themמִקְצֵהmik/TSEfrom the endהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the earthוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdמְהֵרָהme/he/RAwith speedקַלkalswiftlyיָבוֹאya/VOthey shall comeאֵין־עָיֵףen-a/YEFnone shall be wearyוְאֵין־כּוֹשֵׁלve/EN-ko/SHELnor stumbleבּוֹ׃boamong them

    And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth; and behold, they shall come with speed swiftly; none shall be weary nor stumble among them.

27. 27

    לֹאlonotיָנוּםya/NUMshall slumberוְלֹאve/LOnorיִישָׁןyi/SHANhe shall sleepוְלֹאve/LOneitherנִפְתַּחnif/TACHbe loosedאֵזוֹרe/ZORthe girdleחֲלָצָיוcha/la/TSAYVof his loinsוְלֹאve/LOnorנִתַּקnit/TAKbe brokenשְׂרוֹךְse/ROKHthe latchetנְעָלָיו׃ne/a/LAYVof his shoes

    None shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken;

28. 28

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseחִצָּיוchits/TSAYVtheir arrowsשְׁנוּנִיםshe/nu/NIMare sharpוְכׇל־קַשְּׁתֹתָיוve/KHOL-kash/she/to/TAYVand all their bowsדְּרֻכוֹתde/ru/KHOTare bentפַּרְסוֹתpar/SOTthe hoovesסוּסָיוsu/SAYVof their horsesכַּצַּרkats/TSARas flintנֶחְשָׁבוּnech/SHA/vuare countedוְגַלְגִּלָּיוve/gal/gil/LAYVand their wheelsכַּסּוּפָהkas/su/FAas a whirlwindשַׁאֲגָתָםsha/a/ga/TAMtheir roaringכַּלָּבִיא׃kal/la/VIas a lion

    Whose arrows shall be sharp, and all their bows bent, and their horses’ hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind, their roaring like a lion.

29. 29

    יִשְׁאֲגוּyish/a/GUthey shall roarכַּכְּפִירִיםkak/ke/fi/RIMas young lionsאַףafyeaיִשְׁאֲגוּyish/a/GUthey shall roarוְיֹאחֲזוּve/yo/cha/ZUand lay holdטֶרֶףTE/refof the preyוְיַפְלִיטוּve/yaf/li/TUand shall carry away safeוְאֵיןve/ENand noneמַצִּיל׃mats/TSILshall deliver

    They shall roar like young lions; yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry away safe, and none shall deliver.

30. 30

    וְיִנְהֹםve/yin/HOMand they shall roarעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst themבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatכְּנַהֲמַת־יָםke/na/ha/MAT-yamlike the roaring of the seaוְהִבִּיטוּve/hib/BI/tuand if they lookלָאָרֶץla/A/retsunto the landוְהִנֵּה־חֹשֶׁךְve/hin/NE-CHO/shekhbehold darknessצַרtsarsorrowוָאוֹרva/ORand the lightחָשַׁךְcha/SHAKHis darkenedבַּעֲרִיפֶיהָ׃ba/a/ri/FE/hain the heavens thereof

    And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea; and if they look unto the land, behold, darkness and sorrow, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.
