   And now, as I have spoken concerning these plates, behold they are not the plates upon which I make a full account of the history of my people; for the plates upon which I make a full account of my people I have given the name of Nephi; wherefore, they are called the plates of Nephi, after mine own name; and these plates also are called the plates of Nephi.

   Nevertheless, I have received a commandment of the Lord that I should make these plates, for the special purpose that there should be an account engraven of the ministry of my people.

   וְעַל־הַלֻּחוֹתve/AL-hal/lu/CHOTand upon the platesהָאֲחֵרִיםha/a/che/RIMthe otherיֻחַקyu/CHAKshould be engravenדְּבַרde/VARan accountמֶמְשֶׁלֶתmem/SHE/letof the reignהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMof the kingsוּמִלְחֲמוֹתu/mil/cha/MOTand the warsוּמְרִיבוֹתu/me/ri/VOTand contentionsעַמִּיam/MIof my peopleוְעַל־כֵּןve/AL-kenwhereforeהַלֻּחוֹתhal/lu/CHOTthe platesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלְרֹבle/ROVare for the more partהָעֲבוֹדָהha/a/vo/DAof the ministryוְהַלֻּחוֹתve/hal/lu/CHOTand the platesהָאֲחֵרִיםha/a/che/RIMthe otherרֹבrovare for the more partדִּבְרֵיהֶםdiv/re/HEMof their mattersבְּמֶמְשֶׁלֶתbe/mem/SHE/letof the reignהַמְּלָכִיםham/me/la/KHIMof the kingsוּבְמִלְחֲמוֹתu/ve/mil/cha/MOTand the warsוּבִמְרִיבוֹתu/vim/ri/VOTand contentionsעַמִּי׃am/MIof my people

   Upon the other plates should be engraven an account of the reign of the kings, and the wars and contentions of my people; wherefore these plates are for the more part of the ministry; and the other plates are for the more part of the reign of the kings and the wars and contentions of my people.

   עַל־כֵּןal-kenwhereforeצִוַּנִיtsiv/VA/nicommanded meיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto makeאֶת־הַלּוּחוֹתet-hal/lu/CHOTthe platesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלְמַעַןle/MA/anforעֵצָתוֹe/tsa/TOHis purposeהַחֲכָמָהha/cha/kha/MAthe wiseוְהָעֵצָהve/ha/e/TSAand the purposeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלֹאlonotיָדָעְתִּי׃ya/DA/tiI know

   Wherefore, the Lord hath commanded me to make these plates for a wise purpose in him, which purpose I know not.

   אַךְakhbutיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiיָדַעya/DAknowsכׇּל־דָּבָרkol-da/VARall thingsמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHfrom the beginningוְעַל־כֵּןve/AL-kenwhereforeיָכִיןya/KHINHe preparesדֶּרֶךְDE/rekha wayלְהָקִיםle/ha/KIMto accomplishאֶת־כׇּל־מַעֲשָׂיוet-kol-ma/a/SAYVall His worksבִּבְנֵיbiv/NEamong the childrenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOin His hand isכׇּל־כֹּחַkol-KO/achall powerלְהָקִיםle/ha/KIMunto the fulfillingאֶת־כׇּל־דְּבָרָיוet-kol-de/va/RAYVof all His wordsכֵּןkenthusהוּאhuit isאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

   But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words. And thus it is. Amen.
