   And it came to pass that we had gathered together all manner of seeds of every kind, both of grain of every kind, and also of the seeds of fruit of every kind.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedבְּשֶׁבֶתbe/SHE/vetwhile tarriedאָבִיa/VImy fatherבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merhe spokeאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuunto usלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdחֲלוֹםcha/LOMa dreamחָלַמְתִּיcha/LAM/tiI dreamedאוֹoorבְּמִלִּיםbe/mil/LIMin wordsאֲחֵרוֹתa/che/ROTotherרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawמַרְאֶה׃mar/Ea vision

   And it came to pass that while my father tarried in the wilderness he spake unto us, saying: Behold, I have dreamed a dream; or, in other words, I have seen a vision.

   And behold, because of the thing which I have seen, I have reason to rejoice in the Lord because of Nephi and also of Sam; for I have reason to suppose that they, and also many of their seed, will be saved.

   But behold, Laman and Lemuel, I fear exceedingly because of you; for behold, methought I saw in my dream, a dark and dreary wilderness.

   וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawאִישׁisha manוְהוּאve/HUand he wasלָבוּשׁla/VUSHdressed inמְעִילme/ILa robeלָבָןla/VANwhiteוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYbefore me

   And it came to pass that I saw a man, and he was dressed in a white robe; and he came and stood before me.

   וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand he spokeאֵלַיe/LAYunto meוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand badeלִיlimeלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetfollowאַחֲרָיו׃a/cha/RAYVhim

   And it came to pass that he spake unto me, and bade me follow him.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happened thatבְּלֶכְתִּיbe/lekh/TIas I followedאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVhimוָאֵרֶאva/E/reI beheldוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאֲנִיa/NII wasבְּמִדְבַּרbe/mid/BARin a wasteחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhdarkוּשְׁמָמָה׃u/she/ma/MAand dreary

   And it came to pass that as I followed him I beheld myself that I was in a dark and dreary waste.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterלֶכְתִּיlekh/TII traveledעֵתetfor the spaceרַבָּהrab/BAof many hoursבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin darknessוָאָחֵלva/a/CHELI beganלְהִתְפַּלֵּלle/hit/pal/LELto prayאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaiunto Adonaiכִּיkithatיְחׇנֵּנִיye/chon/ne/NIHe would have mercy on meכְּרֹבke/ROVaccording to the multitudeרַחֲמָיו׃ra/cha/MAYVof His tender mercies

   And after I had traveled for the space of many hours in darkness, I began to pray unto the Lord that he would have mercy on me, according to the multitude of his tender mercies.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהִתְפַּלְלִיhit/pal/LII prayedאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaiunto Adonaiוָאֵרֶאva/E/reI beheldשָׂדֶהsa/DEa fieldגָּדוֹלga/DOLlargeוּרְחַב־יָדַיִם׃u/re/CHAV-ya/DA/yimand spacious

   And it came to pass after I had prayed unto the Lord I beheld a large and spacious field.

    וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I beheldעֵץetsa treeוּפִרְיוֹu/fir/YOwhose fruit wasנֶחְמָדnech/MADdesirableלְשַׂמֵּחַle/sam/ME/achto make happyלְבַב־אֱנוֹשׁ׃le/VAV-e/NOSHone

    And it came to pass that I beheld a tree, whose fruit was desirable to make one happy.

    וָאֵלֵךְva/e/LEKHand I went forthוָאֹכַלva/o/KHALand partookמִפִּרְיוֹmip/pir/YOof the fruit thereofוָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I beheldכִּי־מָתוֹקki-ma/TOKthat sweet wasהוּאhuitמִכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרmik/KOL-a/SHERabove all thatטָעַמְתִּיta/AM/tiI tastedעַד־הֵנָּהad-HEN/nahithertoוָאֵרֶאva/E/reyea, and I beheldכִּי־לָבָןki-la/VANthat white wasהוּאhuitלְהַפְלִיאle/haf/LIto exceedמִכׇּל־לֹבֶןmik/KOL-LO/venall the whitenessאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרָאִיתִי׃ra/I/tiI had ever seen

    And it came to pass that I did go forth and partake of the fruit thereof; and I beheld that it was most sweet, above all that I ever before tasted. Yea, and I beheld that the fruit thereof was white, to exceed all the whiteness that I had ever seen.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedבְּאׇכְלִיbe/okh/LIas I partookמִפִּרְיוֹmip/pir/YOof the fruit thereofוַיְמַלֵּאvay/mal/LEit filledאֶת־נַפְשִׁיet-naf/SHImy soulשִׂמְחָהsim/CHAjoyגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyעַל־כֵּןal-kenwhereforeהַחִלֹּתִיha/chil/LO/tiI beganלַחְפֹּץlach/POTSto desireכִּי־יֹאכְלוּki-yo/khe/LUthat should partakeמִשְׁפַּחְתִּיmish/pach/TImy familyגַּם־הֵםgam-hemalsoמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof itכִּיkiforיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knewכִּי־נֶחְמָדki-nech/MADthat desirableהוּאhuit wasמִכׇּל־פְּרִי׃mik/KOL-pe/RIabove all fruit

    And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand asבְּהַבִּיטִיbe/hab/bi/TII cast my eyesסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutאוּלַיu/LAYthat perhapsאֶמְצָאem/TSAI might discoverגַּםgamalsoאֶת־מִשְׁפַּחְתִּיet-mish/pach/TImy familyוָאֵרֶאva/E/reI beheldנְהַר־מַיִםne/HAR-MA/yima river of waterוַיִּזְרֹםvay/yiz/ROMand it ranהָלוֹךְha/LOKHalongוְהוּאve/HUand it wasאֵצֶלE/tselnearהָעֵץha/ETSthe treeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whichאָכַלְתִּיa/KHAL/tiI was partakingמִפִּרְיוֹ׃mip/pir/YOof the fruit

    And as I cast my eyes round about, that perhaps I might discover my family also, I beheld a river of water; and it ran along, and it was near the tree of which I was partaking the fruit.

    וָאַבִּיטva/ab/BITand I lookedלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto beholdמֵאַיִןme/A/yinfrom whenceיָבֹאya/VOit cameוָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawאֶת־רֹאשׁוֹet-ro/SHOthe head thereofמֵרָחוֹקme/ra/CHOKafar offמְעָטme/ATa littleוָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I beheldבְּרֹאשׁוֹbe/ro/SHOat the head thereofאֶת־שְׂרָיָהet-Se/ra/YASariahאִמְּכֶםim/me/KHEMyour motherוְאֶת־סָםve/ET-samand Samוְאֶת־נֶפִיve/ET-NE/fiand Nephiוַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUand they stoodכְּלֹאke/LOas notיָדְעוּya/de/Uthey knewאָנָהA/nawhitherיֵלֵכוּ׃ye/LE/khuthey should go

    And I looked to behold from whence it came; and I saw the head thereof a little way off; and at the head thereof I beheld your mother Sariah, and Sam, and Nephi; and they stood as if they knew not whither they should go.

    וָאֶרְמֹזva/er/MOZand I beckonedאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themוְגַם־קָרָאתִיve/GAM-ka/RA/tiand I also calledאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingבֹּאוּBO/ucome youאֵלַיe/LAYunto meוְאִכְלוּve/ikh/LUand partakeמִן־הַפְּרִיmin-hap/pe/RIof the fruitהַנֶּחְמָדhan/nech/MADwhich was desirableמִכׇּל־פְּרִי׃mik/KOL-pe/RIabove all fruit

    And it came to pass that I beckoned unto them; and I also did say unto them with a loud voice that they should come unto me, and partake of the fruit, which was desirable above all other fruit.

16. 16

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֵלַיe/LAYunto meוַיֹּאכְלוּvay/yo/khe/LUand partookגַּם־הֵםgam-hemthey alsoמִן־הַפְּרִי׃min-hap/pe/RIof the fruit

    And it came to pass that they did come unto me and partake of the fruit also.

17. 17

    וָאֶתְאָוva/et/AVand I was desirousכִּי־יָבֹאוּki-ya/VO/uthat should comeלָמָןLA/manLamanוּלְמוּאֵלu/Le/mu/ELand Lemuelוְיֹאכְלוּve/yo/khe/LUand partakeגַּם־הֵםgam-hemthey alsoמִן־הַפְּרִיmin-hap/pe/RIof the fruitעַל־כֵּןal-kenwhereforeנָשָׂאתִיna/SA/tiI castעֵינַיe/NAYmy eyesאֶל־רֹאשׁel-roshtowards the headהַנָּהָרhan/na/HARof the riverאוּלַיu/LAYthat perhapsאֶרְאֵם׃er/EMI might see them

    And it came to pass that I was desirous that Laman and Lemuel should come and partake of the fruit also; wherefore, I cast mine eyes towards the head of the river, that perhaps I might see them.

    וָאֶרְאֵםva/er/EMand I beheld themוְלֹאve/LObut notאָבוּa/VUwould theyלָבוֹאla/VOcomeאֵלַיe/LAYunto meוְלֶאֱכֹלve/le/e/KHOLand partakeמִן־הַפְּרִי׃min-hap/pe/RIof the fruit

    And it came to pass that I saw them, but they would not come unto me and partake of the fruit.

    וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I beheldמַעֲקֵהma/a/KEa rodבַרְזֶלvar/ZELof ironוַיִּנָּטvay/yin/NATand it extendedעַל־שְׂפַתal-se/FATalong the bankהַנָּהָרhan/na/HARof the riverוַיּוֹבִילvay/yo/VILand ledאֶל־הָעֵץel-ha/ETSto the treeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whichעָמַדְתִּיa/MAD/tiI stoodאֶצְלוֹ׃ets/LOby it

    And I beheld a rod of iron, and it extended along the bank of the river, and led to the tree by which I stood.

    וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I also beheldגַּם־אֹרַחgam-O/rachalso a pathצָרוּרtsa/RURstraitצַרtsarnarrowוַיַּעֲבֹרvay/ya/a/VORwhich cameאֵצֶלE/tselalong byמַעֲקֵהma/a/KEthe rodהַבַּרְזֶלhab/bar/ZELof ironעַד־הָעֵץad-ha/ETSeven to the treeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whichעָמַדְתִּיa/MAD/tiI stoodאֶצְלוֹets/LOby itוְגַם־הוֹבִילve/GAM-ho/VILand it also ledאֵצֶלE/tselbyרֹאשׁroshthe headהַמַּעְיָןham/ma/YANof the fountainאֶל־שָׂדֶהel-SA/deunto a fieldגָּדוֹלga/DOLlargeוּרְחַב־יָדַיִםu/re/CHAV-ya/DA/yimand spaciousכְּתֵבֵל׃ke/te/VELas if it had been a world

    And I also beheld a strait and narrow path, which came along by the rod of iron, even to the tree by which I stood; and it also led by the head of the fountain, unto a large and spacious field, as if it had been a world.

    וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawקְהַלke/HALa concourseעַםamof peopleאֵיןenwithoutמִסְפָּרmis/PARnumberוְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyמֵהֶםme/HEMof themדֹחֲקִיםdo/cha/KIMwere pressingקָדִימָהka/DI/maforwardלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיַשִּׂיגוּyas/SI/guthey might obtainאֶת־הָאֹרַחet-ha/o/RACHthe pathהַהֹלֵךְha/ho/LEKHwhich ledאֶל־הָעֵץel-ha/ETSunto the treeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whichעָמַדְתִּיa/MAD/tiI stoodאֶצְלוֹ׃ets/LOby it

    And I saw numberless concourses of people, many of whom were pressing forward, that they might obtain the path which led unto the tree by which I stood.

22. 22

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they came forthוַיָּחֵלּוּvay/ya/CHEL/luand commencedלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto walkבָּאֹרַחba/O/rachin the pathהַהֹלֵךְha/ho/LEKHwhich ledאֶל־הָעֵץ׃el-ha/ETSto the tree

    And it came to pass that they did come forth, and commence in the path which led to the tree.

23. 23

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland there aroseעֲרָפֶלa/ra/FELa mistחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhof darknessוַיְהִיvay/HIyea, evenעֲרָפֶלa/ra/FELa mistחֹשֶׁךְCHO/shekhof darknessגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyעַד־כִּיad-kiinsomuch thatתָעוּta/Uwanderedהַהֹלְכִיםha/hol/KHIMthose who walkedבָּאֹרַחba/O/rachin the pathוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they walkedבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhin a wayלֹא־דָרַךְlo-da/RAKHnot troddenוַיֹּאבְדוּ׃vay/yo/ve/DUand were lost

    And it came to pass that there arose a mist of darkness; yea, even an exceedingly great mist of darkness, insomuch that they who had commenced in the path did lose their way, that they wandered off and were lost.

    וָאֵרֶאva/E/reand I sawאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMothersדֹחֲקִיםdo/cha/KIMpressingקָדִימָהka/DI/maforwardוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameוַיַּחֲזִיקוּvay/ya/cha/ZI/kuand caught holdבִּקְצֵהbik/TSEof the endמַעֲקֵהma/a/KEof the rodהַבַּרְזֶלhab/bar/ZELof ironוַיִּדְחֲקוּvay/yid/cha/KUand they pressed forwardבַּעֲרָפֶלba/a/ra/FELthrough the mistמַחֲזִיקִיםma/cha/zi/KIMclingingבְּמַעֲקֵהbe/ma/a/KEto the rodהַבַּרְזֶלhab/bar/ZELof ironעַד־בֹּאָםad-bo/AMeven until they came forthוַיֹּאכְלוּvay/yo/khe/LUand partookמִפְּרִיmip/pe/RIof the fruitהָעֵץ׃ha/ETSof the tree

    And it came to pass that I beheld others pressing forward, and they came forth and caught hold of the end of the rod of iron; and they did press forward through the mist of darkness, clinging to the rod of iron, even until they did come forth and partake of the fruit of the tree.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REthat afterאׇכְלָםokh/LAMthey partookמִפְּרִיmip/pe/RIof the fruitהָעֵץha/ETSof the treeוַיִּשְׂאוּvay/yis/Uthey castאֶת־עֵינֵיהֶםet-e/ne/HEMtheir eyesסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutכְּמִתְבּוֹשְׁשִׁים׃ke/mit/bosh/SHIMas if they were ashamed

    And after they had partaken of the fruit of the tree they did cast their eyes about as if they were ashamed.

    וָאֶשָּׂאva/es/SAand I liftedגַּם־אֲנִיgam-a/NII alsoאֶת־עֵינַיet-e/NAYmy eyesסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutוָאֵרֶאva/E/reand beheldמֵעֵבֶרme/E/veron the other sideלִנְהַרlin/HARof the riverהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimof waterבִּנְיָןbin/YANa buildingגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatוְרָחָבve/ra/CHAVand spaciousוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand it stoodכְּמוֹke/MOas it wereבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin the airגָּבֹהַּga/VO/ahhighמֵעַלme/ALaboveהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

    And I also cast my eyes round about, and beheld, on the other side of the river of water, a great and spacious building; and it stood as it were in the air, high above the earth.

    וַיִּמָּלֵאvay/yim/ma/LEand was filledהַבִּנְיָןhab/bin/YANthe buildingאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMwith peopleזְקֵנִיםze/ke/NIMboth oldוּנְעָרִיםu/ne/a/RIMand youngגַּם־זְכָרִיםgam-ze/kha/RIMboth maleוּנְקֵבוֹתu/ne/ke/VOTand femaleוּמַלְבּוּשֵׁיהֶםu/mal/bu/she/HEMand their manner of dress wasיְקָרִיםye/ka/RIMfineמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand they wereמְלַעֲגִיםme/la/a/GIMin the attitude of mockingוְשֹׁלְחִיםve/shol/CHIMand pointingאֶצְבַּעets/BAtheir fingersאֶל־הַבָּאִיםel-hab/ba/IMtowards those who came atוְהָאֹכְלִיםve/ha/okh/LIMand were partakingמִן־הַפְּרִי׃min-hap/pe/RIof the fruit

    And it was filled with people, both old and young, both male and female; and their manner of dress was exceedingly fine; and they were in the attitude of mocking and pointing their fingers towards those who had come at and were partaking of the fruit.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REthat afterטׇעֳמָםto/o/MAMthey tastedמִן־הַפְּרִיmin-hap/pe/RIof the fruitוַיִּכָּלְמוּvay/yik/KAL/muthey were ashamedמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהַמַּלְעִיגִיםham/mal/i/GIMthose that were scoffing atעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemוַיִּפְּלוּvay/yip/pe/LUand they fell awayבְּאׇרְחוֹתbe/or/CHOTinto pathsאֲסוּרוֹתa/su/ROTforbiddenוַיֹּאבְדוּ׃vay/yo/ve/DUand were lost

    And after they had tasted of the fruit they were ashamed, because of those that were scoffing at them; and they fell away into forbidden paths and were lost.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowלֹאlonotאֲדַבֵּרa/dab/BERspeakאֲנִיa/NIIנֶפִיNE/fiNephiאֶת־כׇּל־דִּבְרֵיet-kol-div/REall the wordsאָבִי׃a/VIof my father

    And now I, Nephi, do not speak all the words of my father.

    But, to be short in writing, behold, he saw other multitudes pressing forward; and they came and caught hold of the end of the rod of iron; and they did press their way forward, continually holding fast to the rod of iron, until they came forth and fell down and partook of the fruit of the tree.

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand he also sawגַּם־הֲמוֹנִיםgam-ha/mo/NIMalso multitudesאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherמְמַשְּׁשִׁיםme/mash/she/SHIMfeelingדַּרְכָּםdar/KAMtheir wayאֶל־הַבִּנְיָןel-hab/bin/YANtowards the buildingהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLthe greatוְהָרָחָב׃ve/ha/ra/CHAVand spacious

    And he also saw other multitudes feeling their way towards that great and spacious building.

32. 32

    וַיִּטְבְּעוּvay/yit/be/Uand were drownedרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyבִּמְצוּלוֹתbim/tsu/LOTin the depthsהַמַּעְיָןham/ma/YANof the fountainוְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyאָבְדוּa/ve/DUwere lostמֵעֵינָיוme/e/NAYVfrom his viewתֹּעִיםto/IMwanderingבִּדְרָכִיםbid/ra/KHIMin roadsזָרוֹת׃za/ROTstrange

    And it came to pass that many were drowned in the depths of the fountain; and many were lost from his view, wandering in strange roads.

33. 33

    וְרַבve/RAVand greatהָיָהha/YAwasהֶהָמוֹןhe/ha/MONthe multitudeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבָּאbaenteredאֶל־הַבִּנְיָןel-hab/bin/YANinto the buildingהַזָּרhaz/ZARthe strangeוַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedבְּבֹאָםbe/vo/AMwhen they enteredאֶל־הַבִּנְיָןel-hab/bin/YANinto the buildingוַיִּשְׁלְחוּvay/yish/le/CHUthey pointedאֶצְבַּעets/BAthe fingerלַעַגLA/agof scornעָלַיa/LAYat meוְעַל־הָאֹכְלִיםve/AL-ha/okh/LIMand those that were partakingמִן־הַפְּרִיmin-hap/pe/RIof the fruitגַּם־הֵםgam-hemalsoוְלֹאve/LObut notשַׁתְנוּshat/NUdid weלִבֵּנוּlib/BE/nuheedאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMunto them

    And great was the multitude that did enter into that strange building. And after they did enter into that building they did point the finger of scorn at me and those that were partaking of the fruit also; but we heeded them not.

34. 34

    וְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand these areדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe wordsאָבִיa/VIof my fatherכִּיkiforכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoשָׁתוּSHA/tudidלִבָּםlib/BAMheedאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themנָפְלוּ׃na/fe/LUfell away

    These are the words of my father: For as many as heeded them, had fallen away.

35. 35

    וְלָמָןve/LA/manand Lamanוּלְמוּאֵלu/Le/mu/ELand Lemuelלֹאlonotאָכְלוּa/khe/LUpartookמִן־הַפְּרִיmin-hap/pe/RIof the fruitאָמַרa/MARsaidאָבִי׃a/VImy father

    And Laman and Lemuel partook not of the fruit, said my father.

36. 36

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterדִּבֶּרdib/BERspokeאָבִיa/VImy fatherאֶת־כׇּל־דִּבְרֵיet-kol-div/REall the wordsחֲלוֹמוֹcha/lo/MOof his dreamאוֹoorמַרְאֵהוּmar/E/huvisionאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהָיוּha/YUwereרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merhe saidאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuunto usכִּיkithatבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichרָאָהra/Ahe sawבַּמַּרְאֶהbam/mar/Ein a visionיָרֹאya/ROexceedinglyיָרֵאya/REhe fearedלְלָמָןle/LA/manfor Lamanוּלְמוּאֵלu/Le/mu/ELand Lemuelוַיִּירָאvay/yi/RAyea, he fearedפֶּן־יֻשְׁלְכוּpen-yush/le/KHUlest they should be cast offמִלִּפְנֵיmil/lif/NEfrom the presenceיְהוָה׃Adonaiof Adonai

    And it came to pass after my father had spoken all the words of his dream or vision, which were many, he said unto us, because of these things which he saw in a vision, he exceedingly feared for Laman and Lemuel; yea, he feared lest they should be cast off from the presence of the Lord.

37. 37

    אָזazthenהִזְהִירhiz/HIRhe exhortedאֹתָםo/TAMthemבְּכׇל־רַחֲמֵיbe/KHOL-ra/cha/MEwith all the feelingאָבavof a parentרַחוּםra/CHUMtenderכִּיkithatיִשְׁמְעוּyish/me/Uthey would hearkenלִדְבָרָיוlid/va/RAYVto his wordsאוּלַיu/LAYthat perhapsיְרַחֵםye/ra/CHEMwould be mercifulיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto themוְלֹאve/LOand notיַשְׁלִיכֵםyash/li/KHEMcast them offאַףafyeaדָּרַשׁda/RASHpreachedאָבִיa/VImy fatherאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMunto them

    And he did exhort them then with all the feeling of a tender parent, that they would hearken to his words, that perhaps the Lord would be merciful to them, and not cast them off; yea, my father did preach unto them.

38. 38

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REthat afterדָּרַשׁda/RASHhe preachedאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themוְגַם־נִבָּאve/GAM-nib/BAand also prophesiedלָהֶםla/HEMunto themדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMof thingsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַיְצַוvay/TSAVhe badeאוֹתָםo/TAMthemלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתet-mits/VOTthe commandmentsיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiוַיֶּחְדַּלvay/yech/DALand he ceasedמִדַּבֵּרmid/dab/BERspeakingאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMunto them

    And after he had preached unto them, and also prophesied unto them of many things, he bade them to keep the commandments of the Lord; and he did cease speaking unto them.
