   And Adam hearkened unto the voice of God, and called upon his sons to repent.

   And Adam knew his wife again, and she bare a son, and he called his name Seth. And Adam glorified the name of God; for he said: God hath appointed me another seed, instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

   And God revealed himself unto Seth, and he rebelled not, but offered an acceptable sacrifice, like unto his brother Abel. And to him also was born a son, and he called his name Enos.

   And then began these men to call upon the name of the Lord, and the Lord blessed them;

   וְסֵפֶרve/SE/ferand a bookזִכָּרוֹןzik/ka/RONof remembranceנִשְׁמַרnish/MARwas keptאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin the whichבּוֹbothereinנִכְתַּבnikh/TAVwas recordedבִּלְשׁוֹןbil/SHONin the languageאָדָםA/DAMof Adamכִּיkiforנִתַּןnit/TANit was givenלְכׇל־הַקֹּרְאִיםle/KHOL-hak/kor/IMunto as many as calledאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםel-e/lo/HIMupon Godלִכְתֹּבlikh/TOVto writeבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achby the spiritנְשָׁמָה׃ne/sha/MAof inspiration

   And a book of remembrance was kept, in the which was recorded, in the language of Adam, for it was given unto as many as called upon God to write by the spirit of inspiration;

   And by them their children were taught to read and write, having a language which was pure and undefiled.

   וְהַכְּהֻנָּהve/hak/Ke/hun/NAnow the same Priesthoodהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasבָרֵאשִׁיתva/re/SHITin the beginningתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beגַּםgamalsoבְּאַחֲרִיתbe/a/cha/RITin the endהָעוֹלָם׃ha/o/LAMof the world

   Now this same Priesthood, which was in the beginning, shall be in the end of the world also.

   Now this prophecy Adam spake, as he was moved upon by the Holy Ghost, and a genealogy was kept of the children of God. And this was the book of the generations of Adam, saying: In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

   In the image of his own body, male and female, created he them, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created and became living souls in the land upon the footstool of God.

    And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his own image, and called his name Seth.

    And the days of Adam, after he had begotten Seth, were eight hundred years, and he begat many sons and daughters;

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand wereכׇּל־יְמֵיkol-ye/MEall the daysאָדָםA/DAMof Adamאֲשֶׁר־חַיa/SHER-chaywhich he livedתְּשַׁעte/SHAnineמֵאוֹתme/OThundredוּשְׁלֹשִׁיםu/she/lo/SHIMand thirtyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוַיָּמֹת׃vay/ya/MOTand he died

    And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died.

    Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begat Enos, and prophesied in all his days, and taught his son Enos in the ways of God; wherefore Enos prophesied also.

    And Seth lived, after he begat Enos, eight hundred and seven years, and begat many sons and daughters.

    And the children of men were numerous upon all the face of the land. And in those days Satan had great dominion among men, and raged in their hearts; and from thenceforth came wars and bloodshed; and a man's hand was against his own brother, in administering death, because of secret works, seeking for power.

16. 16

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand wereכׇּל־יְמֵיkol-ye/MEall the daysשֵׁתShetof Sethתְּשַׁעte/SHAnineמֵאוֹתme/OThundredוּשְׁתֵּיםush/TEMand twoעֶשְׂרֵהes/REtenשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוַיָּמֹת׃vay/ya/MOTand he died

    All the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died.

    And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan. And Enos and the residue of the people of God came out from the land, which was called Shulon, and dwelt in a land of promise, which he called after his own son, whom he had named Cainan.

    And this is the genealogy of the sons of Adam, who was the son of God, with whom God, himself, conversed.

    And they were preachers of righteousness, and spake and prophesied, and called upon all men, everywhere, to repent; and faith was taught unto the children of men.

    And it came to pass that all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years, and he died.

    And Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begat Methuselah.

    And it came to pass that Enoch journeyed in the land, among the people; and as he journeyed, the Spirit of God descended out of heaven, and abode upon him.

    And he heard a voice from heaven, saying: Enoch, my son, prophesy unto this people, and say unto them—Repent, for thus saith the Lord: I am angry with this people, and my fierce anger is kindled against them; for their hearts have waxed hard, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes cannot see afar off;

    וּמִדֹּרוֹתu/mid/do/ROTand for generationsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyאֵלֶּהEL/letheseמִיּוֹםmiy/YOMever since the day thatבְּרָאתִיםbe/ra/TIMI created themסָרוּSA/ruhave they gone astrayוְכִחֲשׁוּve/khi/cha/SHUand deniedבִיvimeוַיְבַקְּשׁוּvay/vak/ke/SHUand soughtעֲצָתָםa/tsa/TAMtheir own counselsבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin the darkוּבְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםu/ve/to/a/vo/te/HEMand in their own abominationsחָשְׁבוּcha/she/VUhave they devisedרֶצַחRE/tsachmurderוְלֹאve/LOand have notשָׁמְרוּsha/me/RUkeptאֶת־הַמִּצְוֹתet-ham/mits/VOTthe commandmentsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלַאֲבִיהֶםla/a/vi/HEMunto their fatherאָדָם׃A/DAMAdam

    And for these many generations, ever since the day that I created them, have they gone astray, and have denied me, and have sought their own counsels in the dark; and in their own abominations have they devised murder, and have not kept the commandments, which I gave unto their father, Adam.

29. 29

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeנִשְׁבְּעוּnish/be/Uthey sworeלַשֶּׁקֶרlash/SHE/kerfalselyוּבִשְׁבוּעֹתֵיהֶםu/vish/vu/o/te/HEMand by their oathsהֵבִיאוּhe/VI/uthey broughtעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themselvesמָוֶתMA/vetdeathוּשְׁאוֹלu/she/OLand a hellהֲכִינוֹתִיha/khi/NO/tiI preparedלָהֶםla/HEMfor themאִם־לֹאim-loif notיָשׁוּבוּ׃ya/SHU/vuthey repent

    Wherefore, they have foresworn themselves, and, by their oaths, they have brought upon themselves death; and a hell I have prepared for them, if they repent not;

30. 30

    וְזֹאתve/ZOTand this isגְּזֵרָהge/ze/RAa decreeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichשָׁלַחְתִּיsha/LACH/tiI sent forthבְּרֵאשִׁיתbe/re/SHITin the beginningהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMof the worldמִפִּיmip/PIfrom my own mouthמִיְּסוֹדוֹmiy/ye/so/DOfrom the foundation thereofוּבְפִיu/ve/FIand by the mouthsעֲבָדַיa/va/DAYof my servantsאֲבוֹתֶיךָa/vo/TE/khayour fathersגְּזַרְתִּיהָge/zar/ti/HAhave I decreed itכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHEReven asתִּשָּׁלַחtish/sha/LACHit shall be sent forthבָּעוֹלָםba/o/LAMin the worldעַד־קִצּוֹ׃ad-kits/TSOunto the ends thereof

    And this is a decree, which I have sent forth in the beginning of the world, from my own mouth, from the foundation thereof, and by the mouths of my servants, thy fathers, have I decreed it, even as it shall be sent forth in the world, unto the ends thereof.

31. 31

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERthat whenשָׁמַעsha/MAheardחֲנוֹךְCha/NOKHEnochאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיִּשְׁתַּחוּvay/yish/TA/chubowed himselfאַרְצָהAR/tsato the earthלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spakeלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhy is it thatמָצָאתִיma/TSA/tiI foundחֵןchenfavorבְּעֵינֶיךָbe/e/NE/khain your sightוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand am butנַעַרNA/ara ladוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleשֹׂנְאִיםson/IMhateאֹתִיo/TImeכִּיkiforכְבַד־פֶּהkhe/VAD-peslow of speechאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIam Iוְלָמָּהve/LAM/mawhereforeאֲנִיa/NIam Iעַבְדֶּךָ׃av/DE/khayour servant

    And when Enoch had heard these words, he bowed himself to the earth, before the Lord, and spake before the Lord, saying: Why is it that I have found favor in thy sight, and am but a lad, and all the people hate me; for I am slow of speech; wherefore am I thy servant?

32. 32

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶל־חֲנוֹךְel-Cha/NOKHunto Enochלֵךְlekhgo forthוַעֲשֵׂהva/a/SEand doכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוִּיתִיךָtsiv/vi/TI/khaI commanded youוְאִישׁve/ISHand no manלֹאlonotיִדְקׇרְךָyid/kor/KHAshall pierce youפְּתַחpe/TACHopenפִּיךָPI/khayour mouthוְיִמָּלֵאve/yim/ma/LEand it shall be filledוְאֶתֵּןve/et/TENand I will giveלְךָle/KHAyouמַעֲנֶהma/a/NEutteranceכִּיkiforכׇל־בָּשָׂרkhol-ba/SARall fleshבְּיָדִיbe/ya/DIis in my handsוְאֶעֱשֶׂהve/e/e/SEand I will doכַּטּוֹבkat/TOVas goodבְּעֵינָי׃be/e/NAYin mine eyes

    And the Lord said unto Enoch: Go forth and do as I have commanded thee, and no man shall pierce thee. Open thy mouth, and it shall be filled, and I will give thee utterance, for all flesh is in my hands, and I will do as seemeth me good.

33. 33

    אֱמֹרe/MORsayאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMunto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisבַּחֲרוּba/cha/RUchoose youהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto serveאֶת־יְהוָהet-Adonaithe Lordאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoעֲשָׂכֶם׃a/sa/KHEMmade you

    Say unto this people: Choose ye this day, to serve the Lord God who made you.

34. 34

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdרוּחִיRu/CHImy Spirit isעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaupon youלָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeכׇּל־דְּבָרֶיךָkol-de/va/RE/khaall your wordsאֲצַדֵּקa/tsad/DEKwill I justifyוְהֶהָרִיםve/he/ha/RIMand the mountainsיָנוּסוּya/NU/sushall fleeמִפָּנֶיךָmip/pa/NE/khabefore youוְהַנְּהָרוֹתve/han/ne/ha/ROTand the riversיִסַּבּוּyis/SAB/bushall turnמִדַּרְכָּםmid/dar/KAMfrom their courseוְתִשְׁכֹּןve/tish/KONand you shall abideבִּיbiin meוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iבְּךָbe/KHAin youלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִתְהַלֵּךְhit/hal/LEKHwalkעִמִּי׃im/MIwith me

    Behold my Spirit is upon you, wherefore all thy words will I justify; and the mountains shall flee before you, and the rivers shall turn from their course; and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me.

35. 35

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spakeיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶל־חֲנוֹךְel-Cha/NOKHunto Enochוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himמְשַׁחme/SHACHanointעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khayour eyesבְּטִיטbe/TITwith clayוּרְחָצֵםu/re/cha/TSEMand wash themוְתִרְאֶהve/tir/Eand you shall seeוַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand he didכֵּן׃kenso

    And the Lord spake unto Enoch, and said unto him: Anoint thine eyes with clay, and wash them, and thou shalt see. And he did so.

36. 36

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand he beheldאֶת־הָרוּחוֹתet-ha/ru/CHOTthe spiritsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּרָאba/RAcreatedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוַיַּרְאvay/YARand he beheldגַּםgamalsoדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹאlonotנִרְאוּnir/Uare seenלְעֵיןle/ENby the eyeהַבָּשָׂרhab/ba/SARof the fleshוּמֵאָזu/me/AZand from thenceforthיָצָאya/TSAwent forthהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe sayingבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingרֹאֶהro/Ea seerהֵקִיםhe/KIMraised upיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordלְעַמּוֹ׃le/am/MOunto his people

    And he beheld the spirits that God had created; and he beheld also things which were not visible to the natural eye; and from thenceforth came the saying abroad in the land: A seer hath the Lord raised up unto his people.

37. 37

    וַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went forthחֲנוֹךְCha/NOKHEnochבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand standingעַל־הַגְּבָעוֹתal-hag/ge/va/OTupon the hillsוְעַל־הַמְּקֹמוֹתve/AL-ham/me/ko/MOTand the placesהַגְּבֹהִיםhag/ge/vo/HIMhighוַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand criedבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudוַיָּעַדvay/YA/adand testifiedעַל־מַעֲשֵׂיהֶםal-ma/a/se/HEMagainst their worksוַיִּכָּשְׁלוּvay/yik/ka/she/LUand were offendedכׇל־הָאֲנָשִׁיםkhol-ha/a/na/SHIMall menבּוֹ׃bobecause of him

    And it came to pass that Enoch went forth in the land, among the people, standing upon the hills and the high places, and cried with a loud voice, testifying against their works; and all men were offended because of him.

38. 38

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they came forthלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearאֹתוֹo/TOhimעַל־הַמְּקֹמוֹתal-ham/me/ko/MOTupon the placesהַגְּבֹהִיםhag/ge/vo/HIMhighוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUsayingאֶל־שֹׁמְרֵיel-shom/REunto the keepersהָאֹהָלִיםha/o/ha/LIMof the tentsשְׁבוּshe/VUtarry youפֹהfohereוְשִׁמְרוּve/shim/RUand keepאֶת־הָאֹהָלִיםet-ha/o/ha/LIMthe tentsוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuwhile weנֵלְכָהnel/KHAgoשָׁמָּהSHAM/mayonderלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto beholdאֶת־הָרֹאֶהet-ha/ro/Ethe seerכִּיkiforהוּאhuheמִתְנַבֵּאmit/nab/BEprophesiethוְדָבָרve/da/VARand a thingזָרzarstrangeבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landאִישׁisha manפֶּרֶאPE/rewildבָּאbacameבֵינֵינוּ׃ve/NE/nuamong us

    And they came forth to hear him, upon the high places, saying unto the tent-keepers: Tarry ye here and keep the tents, while we go yonder to behold the seer, for he prophesieth, and there is a strange thing in the land; a wild man hath come among us.

39. 39

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uthey heardאֹתוֹo/TOhimוְאִישׁve/ISHno manלֹאlonotשָׁלַחsha/LACHlaidבּוֹboupon himיָדyadhis handsכִּיkiforפַחַדFA/chadfearבָּאbacameעַל־כׇּל־הַשֹּׁמְעִיםal-kol-hash/shom/IMon all them that heard himכִּיkiforהִתְהַלֶּךְhit/hal/LEKHhe walkedעִם־אֱלֹהִים׃im-e/lo/HIMwith God

    And it came to pass when they heard him, no man laid hands on him; for fear came on all them that heard him; for he walked with God.

40. 40

    וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand there cameאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himאִישׁisha manוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOwhose name wasמָחִיָּהMa/chiy/YAMahijahוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himהַגֶּד־נָאhag/GED-natell I prayלָנוּLA/nuusנְכֹחָהne/kho/CHAplainlyמִיmiwhoאַתָּהat/TAyou areוּמֵאַיִןu/me/A/yinand from whenceבָּאתָ׃BA/tayou come

    And there came a man unto him, whose name was Mahijah, and said unto him: Tell us plainly who thou art, and from whence thou comest?

41. 41

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the landקֵינָןKe/NANof Cainanיָצָאתִיya/TSA/ticame IאֶרֶץE/retsthe landאֲבוֹתַיa/vo/TAYof my fathersאֶרֶץE/retsa landצֶדֶקTSE/dekof righteousnessעַדaduntoהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְאָבִיve/a/VIand my fatherלִמְּדַנִיlim/me/da/NItaught meבְּכׇל־דַּרְכֵיbe/KHOL-dar/KHEin all the waysאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMof God

    And he said unto them: I came out from the land of Cainan, the land of my fathers, a land of righteousness unto this day. And my father taught me in all the ways of God.

42. 42

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָלַכְתִּיha/LAKH/tiI journeyedמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the landקֵינָןKe/NANof Cainanעַל־יַדal-yadbyהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaמִזְרָחָהmiz/RA/chaeastרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI beheldמַרְאָהmar/Aa visionוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand loרָאִיתִיra/I/tiI sawאֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִםet-hash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spakeיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordעִמִּיim/MIwith meוַיִּתֶּן־לִיvay/YIT/ten-liand gave meמִצְוָהmits/VAcommandmentלָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor this causeשְׁמֹרshe/MORto keepאֶת־הַמִּצְוָהet-ham/mits/VAthe commandmentאֲנִיa/NIIמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    And it came to pass, as I journeyed from the land of Cainan, by the sea east, I beheld a vision; and lo, the heavens I saw, and the Lord spake with me, and gave me commandment; wherefore, for this cause, to keep the commandment, I speak forth these words.

43. 43

    וַיּוֹסֶףvay/YO/sefand continuedחֲנוֹךְCha/NOKHEnochלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבֶּרdib/BERspakeעִמִּיim/MIwith meהוּאhuthe sameאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEis the Godהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimof heavenוְהוּאve/HUand he isאֱלֹהַיe/lo/HAYmy Godוֵאלֹהֵיכֶםve/lo/he/KHEMand your Godוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand you areאַחַיa/CHAYmy brethrenוְלָמָּהve/LAM/maand whyתִּוָּעֲצוּtiv/va/a/TSUcounsel youבֵינֵיכֶםve/ne/KHEMyourselvesוּתְכַחֲשׁוּu/te/kha/cha/SHUand denyבֵּאלֹהֵיbe/lo/HEthe Godהַשָּׁמָיִם׃hash/sha/MA/yimof heaven

    And Enoch continued his speech, saying: The Lord which spake with me, the same is the God of heaven, and he is my God, and your God, and ye are my brethren, and why counsel ye yourselves, and deny the God of heaven?

44. 44

    הַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensהוּאhuheעָשָׂהa/SAmadeוְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsthe earth isהֲדֹםha/DOMa footstoolרַגְלָיוrag/LAYVof his feetוִיסוֹדָהּvi/so/DAand the foundation thereof isלוֹlohisהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהוּאhuheיְסָדָהּye/sa/DAlaid itוַהֲמוֹןva/ha/MONand an hostאָדָםa/DAMof menהֵבִיאhe/VIhath he broughtעַל־פָּנֶיהָ׃al-pa/NE/haupon the face thereof

    The heavens he made; the earth is his footstool; and the foundation thereof is his. Behold, he laid it, an host of men hath he brought in upon the face thereof.

45. 45

    וְהַמָּוֶתve/ham/MA/vetand deathבָּאbacameעַל־אֲבוֹתֵינוּal-a/vo/TE/nuupon our fathersאַךְakhneverthelessיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowאֹתָםo/TAMthemוְלֹאve/LOand notנוּכַלnu/KHALcan weלְכַחֵשׁle/kha/CHESHdenyוְגַםve/GAMand evenאֶת־הָרִאשׁוֹןet-ha/ri/SHONthe firstלְכֻלָּםle/khul/LAMof allיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowאֶת־אָדָם׃et-A/DAMeven Adam

    And death hath come upon our fathers; nevertheless we know them, and cannot deny, and even the first of all we know, even Adam.

46. 46

    כִּיkiforסֵפֶרSE/fera bookזִכָּרוֹןzik/ka/RONof remembranceכָּתַבְנוּka/tav/NUhave we writtenבֵינֵינוּve/NE/nuamong usכְּתַבְנִיתke/tav/NITaccording to the patternהַנְּתוּנָהhan/ne/tu/NAgivenבְּאֶצְבַּעbe/ets/BAby the fingerאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godוְהוּאve/HUand it isנָתוּןna/TUNgivenבִּלְשׁוֹנֵנוּ׃bil/sho/ne/NUin our own language

    For a book of remembrance we have written among us, according to the pattern given by the finger of God; and it is given in our own language.

47. 47

    וּכְדַבֵּרu/khe/dab/BERand as spakeחֲנוֹךְCha/NOKHEnochאֶת־דִּבְרֵיet-div/REthe wordsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godוַיֶּחֶרְדוּvay/ye/cher/DUtrembledהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוְלֹאve/LOand notיָכְלוּya/khe/LUcouldלַעֲמֹדla/a/MODstandלְפָנָיו׃le/fa/NAYVin his presence

    And as Enoch spake forth the words of God, the people trembled, and could not stand in his presence.

48. 48

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand he saidאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themיַעַןYA/anbecause thatנָפַלna/FALfellאָדָםA/DAMAdamאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areוּבִנְפִלָתוֹu/vin/fi/la/TOand by his fallבָּאbacameהַמָּוֶתham/MA/vetdeathוְהָיִינוּve/ha/YI/nuand we becameשֻׁתָּפִיםshut/ta/FIMpartakersלְיָגוֹןle/ya/GONof miseryוּמְצוּקָה׃u/me/tsu/KAand woe

    And he said unto them: Because that Adam fell, we are; and by his fall came death; and we are made partakers of misery and woe.

49. 49

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהַשָּׂטָןHas/sa/TANSatanבָּאbacameבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongבְּנֵיbe/NEthe childrenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menוַיְנַסֵּםvay/nas/SEMand tempteth themלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹתle/hish/ta/cha/VOTto worshipלוֹlohimוַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand becameאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmenבָשָׂרva/SARcarnalוְתַאֲוָנִיִּיםve/ta/a/va/niy/YIMsensualוְשֵׁדִיִּיםve/she/diy/YIMand devilishוַיִּסָּגְרוּvay/yis/sa/ge/RUand are shut outמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEfrom the presenceאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMof God

    Behold Satan hath come among the children of men, and tempteth them to worship him; and men have become carnal, sensual, and devilish, and are shut out from the presence of God.

50. 50

    אַךְakhbutהוֹדִיעַho/DI/amade knownאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלַאֲבוֹתֵינוּla/a/vo/TE/nuunto our fathersכִּיkithatכׇל־הָאָדָםkhol-ha/a/DAMall menיָשׁוּבוּ׃ya/SHU/vumust repent

    But God hath made known unto our fathers that all men must repent.

51. 51

    And he called upon our father Adam by his own voice, saying: I am God; I made the world, and men before they were in the flesh.

    And he also said unto him: If thou wilt turn unto me, and hearken unto my voice, and believe, and repent of all thy transgressions, and be baptized, even in water, in the name of mine Only Begotten Son, who is full of grace and truth, which is Jesus Christ, the only name which shall be given under heaven, whereby salvation shall come unto the children of men, ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, asking all things in his name, and whatsoever ye shall ask, it shall be given you.

    And our father Adam spake unto the Lord, and said: Why is it that men must repent and be baptized in water? And the Lord said unto Adam: Behold I have forgiven thee thy transgression in the Garden of Eden.

    וּמֵאָזu/me/AZhenceיָצָאya/TSAwent forthהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe sayingבָּעָםba/AMabroad among the peopleלֵאמֹרle/MORthatבֶּן־אֱלֹהִיםben-E/lo/HIMthe Son of Godכִּפֶּרkip/PERatonedעַל־הָאַשְׁמָהal-ha/ash/MAfor guiltהָרִאשׁוֹנָהha/ri/sho/NAoriginalוְחַטֹּאתve/chat/TOTwherein the sinsהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTof the parentsלֹאlocannotיֵעָנְשׁוּye/a/ne/SHUbe answeredעַל־רָאשֵׁיal-ra/SHEupon the headsהַבָּנִיםhab/ba/NIMof the childrenכִּיkiforשְׁלֵמִיםshe/le/MIMwholeהֵםhemthey areמִיְּסוֹדmiy/ye/SODfrom the foundationהָעוֹלָם׃ha/o/LAMof the world

    Hence came the saying abroad among the people, that the Son of God hath atoned for original guilt, wherein the sins of the parents cannot be answered upon the heads of the children, for they are whole from the foundation of the world.

55. 55

    וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spakeיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶל־אָדָםel-A/DAMunto Adamלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingיַעַןYA/aninasmuch asבָּנֶיךָba/NE/khayour childrenהֹרוּho/RUare conceivedבַחֵטְאva/CHETin sinכֵּןkeneven soכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenיִגְדְּלוּyig/de/LUthey begin to grow upיַהֲרֶהya/ha/REconceivethהַחֵטְאha/CHETsinבְּלִבָּםbe/lib/BAMin their heartsוְיִטְעֲמוּve/yit/a/MUand they tasteאֶת־הַמַּרet-ham/MARthe bitterלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיֵדְעוּyed/Uthey may knowלְהוֹקִירle/ho/KIRto prizeאֶת־הַטּוֹב׃et-hat/TOVthe good

    And the Lord spake unto Adam, saying: Inasmuch as thy children are conceived in sin, even so when they begin to grow up, sin conceiveth in their hearts, and they taste the bitter, that they may know to prize the good.

56. 56

    וְנִתַּןve/nit/TANand it is givenלָהֶםla/HEMthemלָדַעַתla/DA/atto knowטוֹבtovgoodוָרָעva/RAfrom evilלָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeפֹּעֲלִיםpo/a/LIMagentsהֵםhemthey areלְעַצְמָםle/ats/MAMunto themselvesוְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand I gaveלָכֶםla/KHEMyouתּוֹרָהto/RAa lawוּמִצְוָהu/mits/VAand a commandmentאַחֶרֶת׃a/CHE/retanother

    And it is given unto them to know good from evil; wherefore they are agents unto themselves, and I have given unto you another law and commandment.

    Wherefore teach it unto your children, that all men, everywhere, must repent, or they can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God, for no unclean thing can dwell there, or dwell in his presence; for, in the language of Adam, Man of Holiness is his name, and the name of his Only Begotten is the Son of Man, even Jesus Christ, a righteous Judge, who shall come in the meridian of time.

58. 58

    Therefore I give unto you a commandment, to teach these things freely unto your children, saying:

    That by reason of transgression cometh the fall, which fall bringeth death, and inasmuch as ye were born into the world by water, and blood, and the spirit, which I have made, and so became of dust a living soul, even so ye must be born again into the kingdom of heaven, of water, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood, even the blood of mine Only Begotten; that ye might be sanctified from all sin, and enjoy the words of eternal life in this world, and eternal life in the world to come, even immortal glory;

60. 60

    כִּיkiforבַמַּיִםvam/MA/yimby the waterתִּשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou keepאֶת־הַמִּצְוָהet-ham/mits/VAthe commandmentבָּרוּחַba/RU/achby the Spiritתִּצָּדְקוּtits/tsa/de/KUyou are justifiedוּבַדָּםu/vad/DAMand by the bloodתִּתְקַדְּשׁוּ׃tit/kad/de/SHUyou are sanctified

    For by the water ye keep the commandment; by the Spirit ye are justified, and by the blood ye are sanctified;

61. 61

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeנִתַּןnit/TANit is givenלָשֶׁבֶתla/SHE/vetto abideבָּכֶםba/KHEMin youעֵדוּתe/DUTthe recordהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimof heavenהַמְּנַחֵםham/Me/na/CHEMthe Comforterשַׁלְוַתshal/VATthe peaceable thingsכְּבוֹדke/VODof gloryאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלֹאlonotיָמוּתya/MUTdiethאֱמֶתe/METthe truthכׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםkol-had/de/va/RIMof all thingsהַמְחַיֶּהham/chay/YEthat which quickenethאֶת־כֹּלet-kolall thingsהַנֹּתֵןhan/no/TENwhich makethחַיִּיםchay/YIMaliveלַכֹּלlak/KOLall thingsהַיֹּדֵעַhay/yo/DE/athat which knowethכֹּלkolall thingsוְלוֹve/LOand hathכׇל־כֹּחַkhol-KO/achall powerכְּחׇכְמָהke/chokh/MAaccording to wisdomוּכְחֶסֶדu/khe/CHE/sedmercyוְכֶאֱמֶתve/khe/e/METtruthוּכְצֶדֶקu/khe/TSE/dekjusticeוּכְמִשְׁפָּט׃u/khe/mish/PATand judgment

    Therefore it is given to abide in you; the record of heaven; the Comforter; the peaceable things of immortal glory; the truth of all things; that which quickeneth all things, which maketh alive all things; that which knoweth all things, and hath all power according to wisdom, mercy, truth, justice, and judgment.

62. 62

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֹמֵרo/MERI sayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youזֹאתzotthisהִיאhiisעֲצַתa/TSATthe planהַיְשׁוּעָהhay/shu/Aof salvationלְכׇל־הָאָדָםle/KHOL-ha/a/DAMunto all menבְּדַםbe/DAMthrough the bloodיְחִידִיYe/chi/DIof mine Only Begottenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיָבֹאya/VOshall comeבְּאֶמְצַעbe/em/TSAin the meridianהָעִתִּים׃ha/it/TIMof time

    And now, behold, I say unto you: This is the plan of salvation unto all men, through the blood of mine Only Begotten, who shall come in the meridian of time.

63. 63

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdלְכׇל־הַדְּבָרִיםle/KHOL-had/de/va/RIMall thingsדְּמוּתָםde/mu/TAMhave their likenessוְכׇל־הַדְּבָרִיםve/KHOL-had/de/va/RIMand all thingsנִבְרְאוּniv/re/Uare createdוְנַעֲשׂוּve/na/a/SUand madeלְהָעִידle/ha/IDto bear recordעָלַיa/LAYof meדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsגַּשְׁמִיִּיםgash/miy/YIMtemporalוְדָבָרִיםve/da/va/RIMand thingsרוּחָנִיִּיםru/cha/niy/YIMspiritualדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich areבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin the heavensמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alaboveוְדָבָרִיםve/da/va/RIMand thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich areעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retson the earthוְדָבָרִיםve/da/va/RIMand thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich areבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the earthוְדָבָרִיםve/da/va/RIMand thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich areמִתַּחַתmit/TA/chatunderלָאָרֶץla/A/retsthe earthמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alboth aboveוּמִתָּחַתu/mit/TA/chatand beneathכׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםkol-had/de/va/RIMall thingsמְעִידִיםme/i/DIMbear recordעָלָי׃a/LAYof me

    And behold, all things have their likeness, and all things are created and made to bear record of me, both things which are temporal, and things which are spiritual; things which are in the heavens above, and things which are on the earth, and things which are in the earth, and things which are under the earth, both above and beneath: all things bear record of me.

64. 64

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenדִּבֶּרdib/BERspakeיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordעִם־אָדָםim-A/DAMunto Adamאָבִינוּa/VI/nuour fatherוַיִּצְעַקvay/yits/AKcriedאָדָםA/DAMAdamאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaiunto the Lordוַיִּלָּקַחvay/yil/la/KACHand he was caught awayבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achby the SpiritיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordוַיּוּבַלvay/yu/VALand was carried downאֶל־הַמַּיִםel-ham/MA/yiminto the waterוַיּוּשַׂםvay/yu/SAMand was laidתַּחַתTA/chatunderהַמַּיִםham/MA/yimthe waterוַיּוּצָאvay/yu/TSAand was brought forthמִן־הַמָּיִם׃min-ham/MA/yimout of the water

    And it came to pass, when the Lord had spoken with Adam, our father, that Adam cried unto the Lord, and he was caught away by the Spirit of the Lord, and was carried down into the water, and was laid under the water, and was brought forth out of the water.

65. 65

    וְכֵןve/KHENand thusנִטְבַּלnit/BALhe was baptizedוַתֵּרֶדvat/TE/redand descendedרוּחַRU/achthe Spiritאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himוְכֵןve/KHENand thusנוֹלַדno/LADhe was bornמִן־הָרוּחַmin-Ha/RU/achof the Spiritוַיְחִיvay/CHIand was quickenedבָּאָדָםba/a/DAMin the manהַפְּנִימִי׃hap/pe/ni/MIinner

    And thus he was baptized, and the Spirit of God descended upon him, and thus he was born of the Spirit, and became quickened in the inner man.

66. 66

    וַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand he heardקוֹלkola voiceמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingנִטְבַּלְתָּnit/bal/TAyou are baptizedבָּאֵשׁba/ESHwith fireוּבְרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁu/ve/RU/ach-hak/KO/deshand with the Holy Ghostזֹאתzotthis isעֵדוּתe/DUTthe recordהָאָבha/AVof the Fatherוְהַבֵּןve/hab/BENand the Sonמֵעַתָּהme/at/TAfrom henceforthוְעַד־עוֹלָם׃ve/AD-o/LAMand forever

    And he heard a voice out of heaven, saying: Thou art baptized with fire, and with the Holy Ghost. This is the record of the Father, and the Son, from henceforth and forever;

67. 67

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAand you areעַל־דִּבְרָתִיal-div/ra/TIafter the orderאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof himאֵיןenwho wasלוֹlowithoutרֵאשִׁיתre/SHITbeginningיָמִיםya/MIMof daysוְאֵיןve/ENorקֵץketsendשָׁנִיםsha/NIMof yearsמֵעוֹלָםme/o/LAMfrom all eternityוְעַד־עוֹלָם׃ve/AD-o/LAMto all eternity

    And thou art after the order of him who was without beginning of days or end of years, from all eternity to all eternity.

68. 68

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאַתָּהat/TAyou areאֶחָדe/CHADoneבִּיbiin meבֶּן־אֱלֹהִיםben-e/lo/HIMa son of Godוְכֵןve/KHENand thusיוּכְלוּyukh/LUmayכֻלָּםkhul/LAMallלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTbecomeבָּנָיba/NAYmy sonsאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

    Behold, thou art one in me, a son of God; and thus may all become my sons. Amen.
