   Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;

   בְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeלֶדֶתLE/detbrings forthחֹקchokthe decreeכְּמֹץke/MOTSlike chaffעָבַרa/VARpassesיוֹםyomthe dayבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeלֹא־יָבוֹאlo-ya/VOcomes notעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youחֲרוֹןcha/RONthe fierceness ofאַף־יְהֹוָהaf-Adonaithe anger of the LORDבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeלֹא־יָבוֹאlo-ya/VOcomes notעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youיוֹםyomthe day ofאַף־יְהֹוָה׃af-Adonaithe anger of the LORD

   Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD's anger come upon you.

   בַּקְּשׁוּbak/ke/SHUseekאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDכׇּל־עַנְוֵיkol-an/VEall the meek ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoמִשְׁפָּטוֹmish/pa/TOHis judgmentפָּעָלוּpa/A/luhave wroughtבַּקְּשׁוּ־צֶדֶקbak/ke/SHU-TSE/dekseek righteousnessבַּקְּשׁוּbak/ke/SHUseekעֲנָוָהa/na/VAmeeknessאוּלַיu/LAYit may beתִּסָּתְרוּtis/sa/te/RUyou shall be hidבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofאַף־יְהֹוָה׃af-Adonaithe anger of the LORD

   Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD's anger.

   כִּיkiforעַזָּהAz/ZAGazaעֲזוּבָהa/zu/VAforsakenתִהְיֶהtih/YEshall beוְאַשְׁקְלוֹןve/Ash/ke/LONand Ashkelonלִשְׁמָמָהlish/ma/MAa desolationאַשְׁדּוֹדAsh/DODAshdodבַּצׇּהֳרַיִםbats/tso/ho/RA/yimat the noon dayיְגָרְשׁוּהָye/ga/re/SHU/hathey shall drive her outוְעֶקְרוֹןve/Ek/RONand Ekronתֵּעָקֵר׃te/a/KERshall be rooted up

   For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.

   הוֹיhoywoeיֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEto the inhabitants ofחֶבֶלCHE/velthe coast ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaגּוֹיgoythe nation ofכְּרֵתִיםke/Re/TIMthe Cherethitesדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMagainst youכְּנַעַןke/NA/anO CanaanאֶרֶץE/retsthe land ofפְּלִשְׁתִּיםPe/lish/TIMthe Philistinesוְהַאֲבַדְתִּיךְve/ha/a/vad/TIKHand I will destroy youמֵאֵיןme/ENthat there is noיוֹשֵׁב׃yo/SHEVinhabitant

   Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.

   וְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand shall beחֶבֶלCHE/velthe coast ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaנְוֺתne/VOTdwellingsכְּרֹתke/ROTcottagesרֹעִיםro/IMfor shepherdsוְגִדְרוֹתve/gid/ROTand folds forצֹאן׃tsonflocks

   And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.

7. 7

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand shall beחֶבֶלCHE/velthe coastלִשְׁאֵרִיתlish/e/RITfor the remnant ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthereuponיִרְעוּןyir/UNthey shall feedבְּבָתֵּיbe/vat/TEin the houses ofאַשְׁקְלוֹןAsh/ke/LONAshkelonבָּעֶרֶבba/E/revin the eveningיִרְבָּצוּןyir/ba/TSUNthey shall lie downכִּיkiforיִפְקְדֵםyif/ke/DEMshall visit themיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godוְשָׁבve/SHAVand turn back(שבותם)shavavatam[שְׁבִיתָם]׃she/vi/TAMtheir captivity

   And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.

   שָׁמַעְתִּיsha/MA/tiI have heardחֶרְפַּתcher/PATthe reproach ofמוֹאָבMo/AVMoabוְגִדֻּפֵיve/gid/du/FEand the revilings ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwith whichחֵרְפוּcher/FUthey have reproachedאֶת־עַמִּיet-am/MImy peopleוַיַּגְדִּילוּvay/yag/DI/luand they have magnified themselvesעַל־גְּבוּלָם׃al-ge/vu/LAMagainst their border

   I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחַי־אָנִיchay-A/nias I liveנְאֻםne/UMsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכִּי־מוֹאָבki-Mo/AVsurely MoabכִּסְדֹםKis/DOMas Sodomתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofעַמּוֹןAm/MONAmmonכַּעֲמֹרָהka/A/mo/RAlike Gomorrahמִמְשַׁקmim/SHAKthe breeding ofחָרוּלcha/RULnettlesוּמִכְרֵה־מֶלַחu/mikh/RE-ME/lachand saltpitsוּשְׁמָמָהu/she/ma/MAand a desolationעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMforeverשְׁאֵרִיתshe/e/RITthe residue ofעַמִּיam/MImy peopleיְבׇזּוּםye/voz/ZUMshall spoil themוְיֶתֶרve/YE/terand the remnant ofגּוֹיִgo/YImy nationיִנְחָלוּם׃yin/cha/LUMshall inherit them

   Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

    This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.

11. 11

    נוֹרָאno/RAterribleיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themכִּיkiforרָזָהra/ZAHe has famishedאֵת־כׇּל־אֱלֹהֵיet-kol-e/lo/HEall the gods ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthוְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־לוֹve/yish/ta/cha/VU-loand shall worship Himאִישׁishevery oneמִמְּקוֹמוֹmim/me/ko/MOfrom his placeכֹּלkolallאִיֵּיiy/YEthe isles ofהַגּוֹיִם׃hag/go/YIMthe nations

    The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

12. 12

    גַּם־אַתֶּםgam-at/TEMyou alsoכּוּשִׁיםKu/SHIMO Cushitesחַלְלֵיchal/LEthe slain ofחַרְבִּיchar/BImy swordהֵמָּה׃HEM/maare they

    Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.

13. 13

    וְיֵטve/YETand He will stretch outיָדוֹya/DOHis handעַל־צָפוֹןal-tsa/FONagainst the northוִיאַבֵּדvi/ab/BEDand destroyאֶת־אַשּׁוּרet-Ash/SHURAssyriaוְיָשֵׂםve/ya/SEMand will makeאֶת־נִינְוֵהet-Ni/ne/VENinevehלִשְׁמָמָהlish/ma/MAa desolationצִיָּהtsiy/YAdryכַּמִּדְבָּר׃kam/mid/BARas the wilderness

    And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.

14. 14

    וְרָבְצוּve/ra/ve/TSUand shall lie downבְתוֹכָהּve/to/KHAin the midst of herעֲדָרִיםa/da/RIMflocksכׇּל־חַיְתוֹ־גוֹיkol-chay/TO-goyall the beasts of the nationsגַּם־קָאַתgam-ka/ATalso desert owlגַּם־קִפֹּדgam-kip/PODalso the bitternבְּכַפְתֹּרֶיהָbe/khaf/to/RE/hain her capitalsיָלִינוּya/LI/nushall lodgeקוֹלkola voiceיְשׁוֹרֵרye/sho/RERshall singבַּחַלּוֹןba/chal/LONin the windowחֹרֶבCHO/revdesolationבַּסַּףbas/SAFon the thresholdכִּיkiforאַרְזָהֿar/ZAher cedar workעֵרָה׃e/RAHe has laid bare

    And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.

    זֹאתzotthisהָעִירha/IRthe cityהָעַלִּיזָהha/al/li/ZAthe rejoicingהַיּוֹשֶׁבֶתhay/yo/SHE/vetthat dweltלָבֶטַחla/VE/tachsecurelyהָאֹמְרָהha/om/RAthat saidבִּלְבָבָהּbil/va/VAin her heartאֲנִיa/NII amוְאַפְסִיve/af/SIand none besides meעוֹדodelseאֵיךְekhhowהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhas she becomeלְשַׁמָּהle/sham/MAa desolationמַרְבֵּץmar/BETSa resting placeלַחַיָּהla/chay/YAfor beastsכֹּלkolevery oneעוֹבֵרo/VERthat passes byעָלֶיהָa/LE/haherיִשְׁרֹקyish/ROKshall hissיָנִיעַya/NI/ashall wagיָדוֹ׃ya/DOhis hand

    This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
