   הוֹיhoywoeמֹרְאָהmor/Ato her that is filthyוְנִגְאָלָהve/nig/a/LAand pollutedהָעִירha/IRthe cityהַיּוֹנָה׃hay/yo/NAthe oppressing

   Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

2. 2

   לֹאlonotשָׁמְעָהsha/me/Ashe obeyedבְּקוֹלbe/KOLthe voiceלֹאlonotלָקְחָהla/ke/CHAshe receivedמוּסָרmu/SARcorrectionבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDלֹאlonotבָטָחָהva/TA/chashe trustedאֶל־אֱלֹהֶיהָel-e/lo/HE/hato her Godלֹאlonotקָרֵבָה׃ka/RE/vashe drew near

   She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.

   שָׂרֶיהָsa/RE/haher princesבְקִרְבָּהּve/kir/BAwithin herאֲרָיוֹתa/ra/YOTlionsשֹׁאֲגִיםsho/a/GIMroaringשֹׁפְטֶיהָshof/TE/haher judgesזְאֵבֵיze/E/vewolves ofעֶרֶבE/reveveningלֹאlonotגָרְמוּga/re/MUthey gnaw bonesלַבֹּקֶר׃lab/BO/kertill the morning

   Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.

   נְבִיאֶיהָne/vi/E/haher prophetsפֹּחֲזִיםpo/cha/ZIMare lightאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEthe men ofבֹּגְדוֹתbog/DOTtreacheryכֹּהֲנֶיהָko/ha/NE/haher priestsחִלְּלוּ־קֹדֶשׁchil/le/LU-KO/deshhave polluted the sanctuaryחָמְסוּcha/me/SUhave done violence toתּוֹרָה׃to/RAthe law

   Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

   יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצַדִּיקtsad/DIKis righteousבְּקִרְבָּהּbe/kir/BAin her midstלֹאlonotיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEHe doesעַוְלָהav/LAiniquityבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kermorningבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerby morningמִשְׁפָּטוֹmish/pa/TOHis judgmentיִתֵּןyit/TENHe bringsלָאוֹרla/ORto lightלֹאlonotנֶעְדָּרne/DARfailsוְלֹא־יוֹדֵעַve/LO-yo/DE/abut knows notעַוָּלav/VALthe unjustבֹּשֶׁת׃BO/shetshame

   The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.

   הִכְרַתִּיhikh/RAT/tiI have cut offגוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsנָשַׁמּוּna/SHAM/muare desolateפִּנּוֹתָםpin/no/TAMtheir towersהֶחֱרַבְתִּיhe/che/RAV/tiI have laid wasteחוּצוֹתָםchu/tso/TAMtheir streetsמִבְּלִיmib/be/LIwithoutעוֹבֵרo/VERone passingנִצְדּוּnits/DUare destroyedעָרֵיהֶםa/re/HEMtheir citiesמִבְּלִי־אִישׁmib/be/LI-ishwithout a manמֵאֵיןme/ENwithoutיוֹשֵׁב׃yo/SHEVinhabitant

   I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.

   אָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidאַךְ־תִּירְאִיakh-ti/re/Isurely you will fearאוֹתִיo/TImeתִּקְחִיtik/CHIyou will receiveמוּסָרmu/SARcorrectionוְלֹא־יִכָּרֵתve/LO-yik/ka/RETand shall not be cut offמְעוֹנָהּme/o/NAher dwellingכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁר־פָּקַדְתִּיa/SHER-pa/KAD/tihowsoever I punishedעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon herאָכֵןa/KHENsurelyהִשְׁכִּימוּhish/KI/muthey rose earlyהִשְׁחִיתוּhish/CHI/tuthey corruptedכֹּלkolallעֲלִילוֹתָם׃a/li/lo/TAMtheir doings

   I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחַכּוּ־לִיchak/KU-liwait for meנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDלְיוֹםle/YOMfor the dayקוּמִיKU/miI rise upלְעַדle/ADto the preyכִּיkiforמִשְׁפָּטִיmish/pa/TImy determinationלֶאֱסֹףle/e/SOFto gatherגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsלְקׇבְצִיle/kov/TSIto assembleמַמְלָכוֹתmam/la/KHOTkingdomsלִשְׁפֹּךְlish/POKHto pourעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themזַעְמִיza/MImy indignationכֹּלkolallחֲרוֹןcha/RONthe fierceness ofאַפִּיap/PImy angerכִּיkiforבְּאֵשׁbe/ESHwith the fire ofקִנְאָתִיkin/a/TImy jealousyתֵּאָכֵלte/a/KHELshall be devouredכׇּל־הָאָרֶץ׃kol-ha/A/retsall the earth

   Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

9. 9

   כִּי־אָזki-azfor thenאֶהְפֹּךְeh/POKHI will turnאֶל־עַמִּיםel-am/MIMto the peoplesשָׂפָהsa/FAa languageבְרוּרָהve/ru/RApureלִקְרֹאlik/ROto callכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְעׇבְדוֹle/ov/DOto serve Himשְׁכֶםshe/KHEMwith consentאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

   For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

10. 10

    מֵעֵבֶרme/E/verfrom beyondלְנַהֲרֵי־כוּשׁle/Na/ha/RE-khushthe rivers of Cushעֲתָרַיa/ta/RAYmy suppliantsבַּת־פּוּצַיbat-pu/TSAYthe daughter of my dispersedיוֹבִלוּןyo/vi/LUNshall bringמִנְחָתִי׃min/cha/TImy offering

    From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.

11. 11

    בַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatלֹאlonotתֵבוֹשִׁיte/VO/shishall you be ashamedמִכֹּלmik/KOLfor allעֲלִילֹתַיִךְa/li/lo/TA/yikhyour doingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichפָּשַׁעַתְּpa/SHA/attyou have transgressedבִּיbiagainst meכִּי־אָזki-azfor thenאָסִירa/SIRI will take awayמִקִּרְבֵּךְmik/kir/BEKHfrom your midstעַלִּיזֵיal/li/ZEthose who rejoice inגַּאֲוָתֵךְga/a/va/TEKHyour prideוְלֹא־תוֹסִפִיve/LO-to/SI/fiand you shall no moreלְגׇבְהָהle/gov/HAto be haughtyעוֹדodagainבְּהַרbe/HARon the mount ofקׇדְשִׁי׃kod/SHImy holiness

    In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.

12. 12

    וְהִשְׁאַרְתִּיve/hish/ar/TIand I will leaveבְקִרְבֵּךְve/kir/BEKHin your midstעַםama peopleעָנִיa/NIafflictedוָדָלva/DALand poorוְחָסוּve/cha/SUand they shall trustבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the name ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

13. 13

    שְׁאֵרִיתshe/e/RITthe remnant ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלֹא־יַעֲשׂוּlo-ya/a/SUshall not doעַוְלָהav/LAiniquityוְלֹא־יְדַבְּרוּve/LO-ye/dab/be/RUnor speakכָזָבkha/ZAVliesוְלֹא־יִמָּצֵאve/LO-yim/ma/TSEnor shall be foundבְּפִיהֶםbe/fi/HEMin their mouthלְשׁוֹןle/SHONa tongue ofתַּרְמִיתtar/MITdeceitfulnessכִּי־הֵמָּהki-HEM/mafor theyיִרְעוּyir/Ushall feedוְרָבְצוּve/ra/ve/TSUand lie downוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noמַחֲרִיד׃ma/cha/RIDmaking afraid

    The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

14. 14

    רׇנִּיron/NIsingבַּת־צִיּוֹןbat-Tsiy/YONO daughter of Zionהָרִיעוּha/RI/ushoutיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELO Israelשִׂמְחִיsim/CHIbe gladוְעׇלְזִיve/ol/ZIand rejoiceבְּכׇל־לֵבbe/KHOL-levwith all the heartבַּתbatO daughter ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalem

    Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

15. 15

    הֵסִירhe/SIRhas taken awayיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִשְׁפָּטַיִךְmish/pa/TA/yikhyour judgmentsפִּנָּהpin/NAHe has cast outאֹיְבֵךְoy/VEKHyour enemyמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּקִרְבֵּךְbe/kir/BEKHin your midstלֹא־תִירְאִיlo-ti/re/Iyou shall not fearרָעraevilעוֹד׃odagain

    The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

16. 16

    בַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatיֵאָמֵרye/a/MERit shall be saidלִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםlI/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalemאַל־תִּירָאִיal-ti/RA/ifear notצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONO Zionאַל־יִרְפּוּal-yir/PUlet not be slackיָדָיִךְ׃ya/DA/yikhyour hands

    In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.

17. 17

    יְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהַיִךְe/lo/HA/yikhyour Godבְּקִרְבֵּךְbe/kir/BEKHin your midstגִּבּוֹרGib/BORthe Mighty Oneיוֹשִׁיעַyo/SHI/aHe will saveיָשִׂישׂya/SISHe will rejoiceעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhover youבְּשִׂמְחָהbe/sim/CHAwith joyיַחֲרִישׁya/cha/RISHHe will be silentבְּאַהֲבָתוֹbe/a/ha/va/TOin His loveיָגִילya/GILHe will joyעָלַיִךְa/LA/yikhover youבְּרִנָּה׃be/rin/NAwith singing

    The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

18. 18

    נוּגֵיnu/GEthem that are sorrowfulמִמּוֹעֵדmim/mo/EDfor the solemn assemblyאָסַפְתִּיa/SAF/tiI will gatherמִמֵּךְmim/MEKHof youהָיוּha/YUthey wereמַשְׂאֵתmas/ETa burdenעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon herחֶרְפָּה׃cher/PAreproach

    I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.

19. 19

    הִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iעֹשֶׂהo/SEI deal withאֶת־כׇּל־מְעַנַּיִךְet-kol-me/an/NA/yikhall who afflict youבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatוְהוֹשַׁעְתִּיve/ho/sha/TIand I will saveאֶת־הַצֹּלֵעָהet-hats/tso/le/Aher that haltsוְהַנִּדָּחָהve/han/nid/da/CHAand her that was driven outאֲקַבֵּץa/kab/BETSI will gatherוְשַׂמְתִּיםve/sam/TIMand I will make themלִתְהִלָּהlit/hil/LAa praiseוּלְשֵׁםu/le/SHEMand a nameבְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץbe/KHOL-ha/A/retsin all the earthבׇּשְׁתָּם׃bosh/TAMof their shame

    Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.

20. 20

    בָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַהִיאha/HIthatאָבִיאa/VII will bringאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוּבָעֵתu/va/ETand at the timeקַבְּצִיkab/be/TSIof my gatheringאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouכִּי־אֶתֵּןki-et/TENfor I will makeאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouלְשֵׁםle/SHEMa nameוְלִתְהִלָּהve/lit/hil/LAand a praiseבְּכֹלbe/KHOLin allעַמֵּיam/MEthe peoples ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthבְּשׁוּבִיbe/shu/VIwhen I turn backאֶת־שְׁבוּתֵיכֶםet-she/vu/te/KHEMyour captivityלְעֵינֵיכֶםle/e/ne/KHEMbefore your eyesאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
