Zechariah 6 זְכַרְיָה פרק ו׳

1. 1

   וָאָשֻׁבand I returnedוָאֶשָּׂאand I took upעֵינַיmy eyesוָאֶרְאֶהand I sawוְהִנֵּהand beholdאַרְבַּעfourמַרְכָּבוֹתchariotsיֹצְאוֹתcoming outמִבֵּיןfrom betweenשְׁנֵיtwoהֶהָרִיםthe mountainsוְהֶהָרִיםand the mountainsהָרֵיthe mountains ofנְחֹשֶׁת׃brass

   And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.

   בַּמֶּרְכָּבָהin the chariotהָרִאשֹׁנָהthe firstסוּסִיםhorsesאֲדֻמִּיםredוּבַמֶּרְכָּבָהand were with the chariotהַשֵּׁנִיתthe secondסוּסִיםhorsesשְׁחֹרִים׃black

   In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;

   וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָהand were with the chariotהַשְּׁלִשִׁיתthe thirdסוּסִיםhorsesלְבָנִיםwhiteוּבַמֶּרְכָּבָהand were with the chariotהָרְבִעִיתthe fourthסוּסִיםhorsesבְּרֻדִּיםdappledאֲמֻצִּים׃bay

   And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.

   וָאַעַןand I answeredוָאֹמַרand I saidאֶל־הַמַּלְאָךְto the angelהַדֹּבֵרthe one who spokeבִּיwith meמָה־אֵלֶּהwhat theseאֲדֹנִי׃my lord

   Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?

   וַיַּעַןand he answeredהַמַּלְאָךְthe angelוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלָיunto meאֵלֶּהtheseאַרְבַּעfourרוּחוֹתspirits ofהַשָּׁמַיִםthe heavensיוֹצְאוֹתwere going forthמֵהִתְיַצֵּבfrom standingעַל־אֲדוֹןupon the master ofכׇּל־הָאָרֶץ׃all the earth

   And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

   אֲשֶׁר־בָּהּwhich in itהַסּוּסִיםthe horsesהַשְּׁחֹרִיםthe blackיֹצְאִיםgoing outאֶל־אֶרֶץto the land ofצָפוֹןthe northוְהַלְּבָנִיםand the white horsesיָצְאוּwent forthאֶל־אַחֲרֵיהֶםto after themוְהַבְּרֻדִּיםand the dappled horsesיָצְאוּwent forthאֶל־אֶרֶץto the land ofהַתֵּימָן׃the south

   The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.

   וְהָאֲמֻצִּיםand the strong horsesיָצְאוּwent forthוַיְבַקְשׁוּand soughtלָלֶכֶתto goלְהִתְהַלֵּךְto walkבָּאָרֶץin the landוַיֹּאמֶרand saidלְכוּgoהִתְהַלְּכוּthey walked aboutבָאָרֶץin the landוַתִּתְהַלַּכְנָהand they went aboutבָּאָרֶץ׃in the land

   And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.

   וַיַּזְעֵקand he summonedאֹתִיmeוַיְדַבֵּרand spokeאֵלַיto meלֵאמֹרsayingרְאֵהbeholdהַיּוֹצְאִיםthe going outאֶל־אֶרֶץto the land ofצָפוֹןthe northהֵנִיחוּthey have caused to restאֶת־רוּחִיmy spiritבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofצָפוֹן׃the north

   Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

   וַיְהִיand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDאֵלַיto meלֵאמֹר׃saying

   And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

    לָקוֹחַtakeמֵאֵתfromהַגּוֹלָהthe exilesמֵחֶלְדַּיfrom Heldaiוּמֵאֵתand from withטוֹבִיָּהTobiahוּמֵאֵתand from withיְדַעְיָהJedaiahוּבָאתָand you shall comeאַתָּהyouבַּיּוֹםin the dayהַהוּאthatוּבָאתָand you shall comeבֵּיתthe house ofיֹאשִׁיָּהJosiahבֶן־צְפַנְיָהson of Zephaniahאֲשֶׁר־בָּאוּwhich cameמִבָּבֶל׃from Babylon

    Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;

11. 11

    וְלָקַחְתָּand you will takeכֶסֶף־וְזָהָבsilver and goldוְעָשִׂיתָand doעֲטָרוֹתcrownsוְשַׂמְתָּand you will putבְּרֹאשׁin the top ofיְהוֹשֻׁעַJoshuaבֶּן־יְהוֹצָדָקson of Jehozadakהַכֹּהֵןthe priestהַגָּדוֹל׃the great

    Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;

12. 12

    וְאָמַרְתָּand sayאֵלָיוto himלֵאמֹרsayingכֹּהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsלֵאמֹרsayingהִנֵּה־אִישׁbehold man ofצֶמַחthe Sproutשְׁמוֹhis nameוּמִתַּחְתָּיוand from under himיִצְמָחhe shall grow upוּבָנָהand he will rebuildאֶת־הֵיכַלthe temple ofיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:

13. 13

    וְהוּאand heיִבְנֶהhe will buildאֶת־הֵיכַלthe temple ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDוְהוּא־יִשָּׂאand he shall bearהוֹדsplendorוְיָשַׁבand satוּמָשַׁלand he will have dominionעַל־כִּסְאוֹupon his throneוְהָיָהand beכֹהֵןa priestעַל־כִּסְאוֹupon his throneוַעֲצַתand the plan ofשָׁלוֹםpeaceתִּהְיֶהshall beבֵּיןamongשְׁנֵיהֶם׃the two

    Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

14. 14

    וְהָעֲטָרֹתand the crownsתִּהְיֶהshall beלְחֵלֶםto Helemוּלְטוֹבִיָּהand to Tobiahוְלִידַעְיָהand to Jedaiahוּלְחֵןand to Henבֶּן־צְפַנְיָהson of Zephaniahלְזִכָּרוֹןin remembranceבְּהֵיכַלin the temple ofיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD.

15. 15

    וּרְחוֹקִיםand distant onesיָבֹאוּcomeוּבָנוּand shall buildבְּהֵיכַלin the temple ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDוִידַעְתֶּםand you shall knowכִּי־יְהֹוָהfor the LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsשְׁלָחַנִיsent meאֲלֵיכֶםunto youוְהָיָהand beאִם־שָׁמוֹעַif diligentlyתִּשְׁמְעוּןyou will hearבְּקוֹלthe voice ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃your God

    And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.
