Zechariah 4 זְכַרְיָה פרק ד׳

1. 1

   וַיָּשׇׁבand he returnedהַמַּלְאָךְthe angelהַדֹּבֵרthe one who spokeבִּיwith meוַיְעִירֵנִיand he roused meכְּאִישׁas a manאֲשֶׁר־יֵעוֹרwhich it will be rousedמִשְּׁנָתוֹ׃from his sleep

   And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,

   וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלַיto meמָהwhatאַתָּהyouרֹאֶהsee you(ויאמר)[וָאֹמַר]and I saidרָאִיתִיI sawוְהִנֵּהand beholdמְנוֹרַתa lampstand ofזָהָבgoldכֻּלָּהּall of itוְגֻלָּהּand a bowlעַל־רֹאשָׁהּupon its topוְשִׁבְעָהand sevenנֵרֹתֶיהָits lampsעָלֶיהָupon itשִׁבְעָהsevenוְשִׁבְעָהand sevenמוּצָקוֹתpipesלַנֵּרוֹתto the lampsאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־רֹאשָׁהּ׃upon its top

   And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

   וּשְׁנַיִםand twoזֵיתִיםolive treesעָלֶיהָupon itאֶחָדoneמִימִיןfrom the right ofהַגֻּלָּהthe bowlוְאֶחָדand oneעַל־שְׂמֹאלָהּ׃upon its left side

   And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

   וָאַעַןand I answeredוָאֹמַרand I saidאֶל־הַמַּלְאָךְto the angelהַדֹּבֵרthe one who spokeבִּיwith meלֵאמֹרsayingמָה־אֵלֶּהwhat theseאֲדֹנִי׃my lord

   So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?

   וַיַּעַןand he answeredהַמַּלְאָךְthe angelהַדֹּבֵרthe one who spokeבִּיwith meוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלַיto meהֲלוֹאis it notיָדַעְתָּyou knowמָה־הֵמָּהwhat they areאֵלֶּהtheseוָאֹמַרand I saidלֹאnotאֲדֹנִי׃my lord

   Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

   וַיַּעַןand he answeredוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלַיto meלֵאמֹרsayingזֶהthisדְּבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDאֶל־זְרֻבָּבֶלto Zerubbabelלֵאמֹרsayingלֹאnotבְחַיִלwith an armyוְלֹאand notבְכֹחַwith powerכִּיbecauseאִם־בְּרוּחִיif by my spiritאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹת׃of Hosts

   Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

   מִי־אַתָּהwho youהַר־הַגָּדוֹלO great mountainלִפְנֵיbeforeזְרֻבָּבֶלZerubbabelלְמִישֹׁרlevel groundוְהוֹצִיאand it has brought forthאֶת־הָאֶבֶןthe stoneהָרֹאשָׁהֿthe headstoneתְּשֻׁאוֹתshoutings ofחֵןfavorחֵןfavorלָהּ׃to her

   Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

   וַיְהִיand it came to passדְבַר־יְהֹוָהthe word of the LORDאֵלַיto meלֵאמֹר׃saying

   Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

   יְדֵיhands ofזְרֻבָּבֶלZerubbabelיִסְּדוּthey have foundedהַבַּיִתthe houseהַזֶּהthisוְיָדָיוand his handsתְּבַצַּעְנָהthey will finish itוְיָדַעְתָּand you knowכִּי־יְהֹוָהfor the LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsשְׁלָחַנִיsent meאֲלֵיכֶם׃unto you

   The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

10. 10

    כִּיbecauseמִיwhoבַזhath despisedלְיוֹםto dayקְטַנּוֹתsmallוְשָׂמְחוּand they rejoicedוְרָאוּand beholdאֶת־הָאֶבֶןthe stoneהַבְּדִילthe plummetבְּיַדin the hand ofזְרֻבָּבֶלZerubbabelשִׁבְעָה־אֵלֶּהseven theseעֵינֵיthe eyes ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDהֵמָּהtheyמְשׁוֹטְטִיםare roving aboutבְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץ׃in all the land

    For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

    וָאַעַןand I answeredוָאֹמַרand I saidאֵלָיוto himמַה־שְּׁנֵיwhat are the twoהַזֵּיתִיםthe olive treesהָאֵלֶּהtheseעַל־יְמִיןupon right handהַמְּנוֹרָהthe lampstandוְעַל־שְׂמֹאולָהּ׃and upon its left side

    Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

    וָאַעַןand I answeredשֵׁנִיתagainוָאֹמַרand I saidאֵלָיוto himמַה־שְׁתֵּיwhat twoשִׁבְּלֵיthe branches ofהַזֵּיתִיםthe olive treesאֲשֶׁרwhichבְּיַדin the hand ofשְׁנֵיtwoצַנְתְּרוֹתthe pipes ofהַזָּהָבthe goldהַמְרִיקִיםwhich are pouring outמֵעֲלֵיהֶםfrom off themהַזָּהָב׃the gold

    And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלַיto meלֵאמֹרsayingהֲלוֹאis it notיָדַעְתָּyou knowמָה־אֵלֶּהwhat theseוָאֹמַרand I saidלֹאnotאֲדֹנִי׃my lord

    And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלֶּהtheseשְׁנֵיtwoבְנֵי־הַיִּצְהָרthe anointed onesהָעֹמְדִיםthe ones standingעַל־אֲדוֹןupon the master ofכׇּל־הָאָרֶץ׃all the earth

    Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
