Zechariah 2 זְכַרְיָה פרק ב׳

1. 1

   וָאֶשָּׂאand I took upאֶת־עֵינַיmy eyesוָאֵרֶאand I sawוְהִנֵּהand beholdאַרְבַּעfourקְרָנוֹת׃horns

   Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.

2. 2

   וָאֹמַרand I saidאֶל־הַמַּלְאָךְto the angelהַדֹּבֵרthe one who spokeבִּיwith meמָה־אֵלֶּהwhat theseוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלַיto meאֵלֶּהtheseהַקְּרָנוֹתthe hornsאֲשֶׁרwhichזֵרוּthey scatteredאֶת־יְהוּדָהJudahאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelוִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃and Jerusalem

   And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

   וַיַּרְאֵנִיand showed meיְהֹוָהthe LORDאַרְבָּעָהfourחָרָשִׁים׃craftsmen

   And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.

   וָאֹמַרand I saidמָהwhatאֵלֶּהtheseבָאִיםare about to comeלַעֲשׂוֹתto doוַיֹּאמֶרand saidלֵאמֹרsayingאֵלֶּהtheseהַקְּרָנוֹתthe hornsאֲשֶׁר־זֵרוּwhich they scatteredאֶת־יְהוּדָהJudahכְּפִי־אִישׁso that no manלֹא־נָשָׂאdid lift upרֹאשׁוֹhis headוַיָּבֹאוּand they cameאֵלֶּהtheseלְהַחֲרִידto make trembleאֹתָםthemלְיַדּוֹתto throw downאֶת־קַרְנוֹתthe horns ofהַגּוֹיִםthe nationsהַנֹּשְׂאִיםwho boreקֶרֶןthe horn ofאֶל־אֶרֶץto the land ofיְהוּדָהJudahלְזָרוֹתָהּ׃to scatter it

   Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.

   וָאֶשָּׂאand I took upעֵינַיmy eyesוָאֵרֶאand I sawוְהִנֵּה־אִישׁand behold man ofוּבְיָדוֹand in his handחֶבֶלa line ofמִדָּה׃measuring

   I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.

   וָאֹמַרand I saidאָנָהwhitherאַתָּהyouהֹלֵךְgoingוַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלַיto meלָמֹדto measureאֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemלִרְאוֹתto seeכַּמָּה־רׇחְבָּהּwhat is its breadthוְכַמָּהand how muchאׇרְכָּהּ׃its length

   Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

7. 7

   וְהִנֵּהand beholdהַמַּלְאָךְthe angelהַדֹּבֵרthe one who spokeבִּיwith meיֹצֵאgoing outוּמַלְאָךְand a messengerאַחֵרotherיֹצֵאgoing outלִקְרָאתוֹ׃to meet him

   And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,

8. 8

   וַיֹּאמֶרand saidאֵלָוto himרֻץrunדַּבֵּרspeakאֶל־הַנַּעַרto the young manהַלָּזthisלֵאמֹרsayingפְּרָזוֹתas towns without wallsתֵּשֵׁבshall sitיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemמֵרֹבfrom the multitude ofאָדָםmanוּבְהֵמָהand of beastsבְּתוֹכָהּ׃in its midst

   And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:

9. 9

   וַאֲנִיand Iאֶהְיֶה־לָּהּI may be to herנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהsays the LORDחוֹמַתthe walls ofאֵשׁfireסָבִיבall aroundוּלְכָבוֹדand gloriousאֶהְיֶהI may beבְתוֹכָהּ׃in the midst of it

   For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

10. 10

    הוֹיOהוֹיOוְנֻסוּfleeמֵאֶרֶץfrom the land ofצָפוֹןthe northנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהsays the LORDכִּיforכְּאַרְבַּעabout fourרוּחוֹתwinds ofהַשָּׁמַיִםthe heavensפֵּרַשְׂתִּיI have spread outאֶתְכֶםyouנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃says the LORD

    Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.

11. 11

    הוֹיOצִיּוֹןZionהִמָּלְטִיescapeיוֹשֶׁבֶתO inhabitant ofבַּת־בָּבֶל׃daughter of Babylon

    Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.

12. 12

    כִּיbecauseכֹהthusאָמַרsaidיְהֹוָהthe LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsאַחַרafterכָּבוֹדthe gloryשְׁלָחַנִיsent meאֶל־הַגּוֹיִםunto the nationsהַשֹּׁלְלִיםthose who plunderedאֶתְכֶםyouכִּיbecauseהַנֹּגֵעַthe one who touchesבָּכֶםin youנֹגֵעַone who has touchedבְּבָבַתthe pupil ofעֵינוֹ׃his eye

    For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

13. 13

    כִּיforהִנְנִיbehold Iמֵנִיףwavingאֶת־יָדִיmy handעֲלֵיהֶםupon themוְהָיוּthen they shall beשָׁלָלthe spoilלְעַבְדֵיהֶםfor their own slavesוִידַעְתֶּםand you shall knowכִּי־יְהֹוָהfor the LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsשְׁלָחָנִי׃has sent me

    For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

14. 14

    רׇנִּיcry outוְשִׂמְחִיand rejoiceבַּת־צִיּוֹןthe daughter of Zionכִּיforהִנְנִי־בָאbehold I cameוְשָׁכַנְתִּיand I will dwellבְתוֹכֵךְin the midst of youנְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃says the LORD

    Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.

15. 15

    וְנִלְווּand they will join themselvesגוֹיִםnationsרַבִּיםmanyאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDבַּיּוֹםin the dayהַהוּאthatוְהָיוּthen they shall beלִיto meלְעָםpeopleוְשָׁכַנְתִּיand I will dwellבְתוֹכֵךְin the midst of youוְיָדַעַתְּand you shall knowכִּי־יְהֹוָהfor the LORDצְבָאוֹתof Hostsשְׁלָחַנִיsent meאֵלָיִךְ׃to you

    And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

16. 16

    וְנָחַלand will inheritיְהֹוָהthe LORDאֶת־יְהוּדָהJudahחֶלְקוֹhis partעַלuponאַדְמַתthe land ofהַקֹּדֶשׁthe holyוּבָחַרand will yet chooseעוֹדany moreבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃in Jerusalem

    And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.

17. 17

    הַסhush!כׇּל־בָּשָׂרall the fleshמִפְּנֵיbecause ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDכִּיforנֵעוֹרhe has roused himselfמִמְּעוֹןfrom the habitation ofקׇדְשׁוֹ׃his holy

    Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
