The song of songs, which is Solomon's.

יִשָּׁקֵנִיlet him kiss meמִנְּשִׁיקוֹתfrom the kisses ofפִּיהוּhis mouthכִּי־טוֹבִיםbecause goodדֹּדֶיךָyour loveמִיָּיִן׃from wine
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

לְרֵיחַto an aroma ofשְׁמָנֶיךָyour oilsטוֹבִיםgoodשֶׁמֶןoilתּוּרַקwhich it is poured outשְׁמֶךָyour nameעַל־כֵּןthereforeעֲלָמוֹתthe maidensאֲהֵבוּךָ׃they love you
Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

מׇשְׁכֵנִיdraw meאַחֲרֶיךָafter youנָּרוּצָהlet us runהֱבִיאַנִיhas brought meהַמֶּלֶךְthe kingחֲדָרָיוhis chambersנָגִילָהwe will be gladוְנִשְׂמְחָהand rejoiceבָּךְin youנַזְכִּירָהlet us bring to remembranceדֹדֶיךָyour loveמִיַּיִןfrom wineמֵישָׁרִיםuprightnessאֲהֵבוּךָ׃they love you
Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

שְׁחוֹרָהam blackאֲנִיIוְנָאוָהand lovelyבְּנוֹתthe daughters ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםJerusalemכְּאׇהֳלֵיlike the tents ofקֵדָרKedarכִּירִיעוֹתlike the tent curtains ofשְׁלֹמֹה׃Solomon
I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.

אַל־תִּרְאוּנִיdo not look upon meשֶׁאֲנִיthat Iשְׁחַרְחֹרֶתam blackishשֶׁשְּׁזָפַתְנִיon whom has looked on meהַשָּׁמֶשׁthe sunבְּנֵיthe sons ofאִמִּיmy motherנִחֲרוּ־בִיthey were angry against meשָׂמֻנִיthey made meנֹטֵרָהone who keepsאֶת־הַכְּרָמִיםthe vineyardsכַּרְמִיmy vineyardשֶׁלִּיwhich to meלֹאnotנָטָרְתִּי׃I have kept
Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.

הַגִּידָהtellלִּיto meשֶׁאָהֲבָהwhom lovesנַפְשִׁיmy soulאֵיכָהhowתִרְעֶהyou will shepherdאֵיכָהhowתַּרְבִּיץwill you make them lie downבַּצׇּהֳרָיִםat the noonשַׁלָּמָהfor whyאֶהְיֶהI may beכְּעֹטְיָהlike a veiled womanעַלuponעֶדְרֵיthe flocks ofחֲבֵרֶיךָ׃your companions
Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?

אִם־לֹאif notתֵדְעִיyou knowלָךְto youהַיָּפָהthe beautifulבַּנָּשִׁיםamong the womenצְאִי־לָךְgo out for youבְּעִקְבֵיin the footprints ofהַצֹּאןthe flockוּרְעִיand pastureאֶת־גְּדִיֹּתַיִךְyour young goatsעַלuponמִשְׁכְּנוֹתthe dwellings ofהָרֹעִים׃the shepherds
If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.

לְסֻסָתִיto my mareבְּרִכְבֵיamong the chariots ofפַרְעֹהPharaohדִּמִּיתִיךְI liken youרַעְיָתִי׃O my love
I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.

נָאווּthey are beautifulלְחָיַיִךְyour cheeksבַּתֹּרִיםwith the strings of jewelsצַוָּארֵךְyour neckבַּחֲרוּזִים׃with strings of beads
Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.

תּוֹרֵיnecklaces ofזָהָבgoldנַעֲשֶׂה־לָּךְlet us make to youעִםwithנְקֻדּוֹתbeads ofהַכָּסֶף׃the silver
We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.

עַד־שֶׁהַמֶּלֶךְuntil that the kingבִּמְסִבּוֹat his tableנִרְדִּיmy nardנָתַןgaveרֵיחוֹ׃its odor
While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.

צְרוֹרthe bag ofהַמֹּרthe myrrhדּוֹדִיmy belovedלִיto meבֵּיןamongשָׁדַיmy breastsיָלִין׃it will remain overnight
A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.

אֶשְׁכֹּלa cluster ofהַכֹּפֶרthe henna blossomדּוֹדִיmy belovedלִיto meבְּכַרְמֵיin my vineyardעֵיןEn-גֶּדִי׃gedi
My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of En-gedi.

הִנָּךְhere youיָפָהbeautifulרַעְיָתִיO my loveהִנָּךְhere youיָפָהbeautifulעֵינַיִךְyour eyesיוֹנִים׃are doves
Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

הִנְּךָbehold youיָפֶהfairדוֹדִיO my belovedאַףmoreoverנָעִיםdelightsomeאַף־עַרְשֵׂנוּyea our bedרַעֲנָנָה׃is green
Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.

קֹרוֹתthe beams ofבָּתֵּינוּour housesאֲרָזִיםcedars[רַהִיטֵנוּ]rafters ourבְּרוֹתִים׃are cypress
The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.
