   וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidלָהּlato herנׇעֳמִיNo/o/MINaomiחֲמוֹתָהּcha/mo/TAher mother in lawבִּתִּיbit/TImy daughterהֲלֹאha/LOshall I notאֲבַקֶּשׁ־לָךְa/vak/KESH-lakhseek for youמָנוֹחַma/NO/achrestאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִיטַב־לָךְ׃yi/TAV-lakhit may be well with you

   Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהֲלֹאha/LOis notבֹעַזVO/azBoazמֹדַעְתָּנוּmo/da/TA/nuour kinsmanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseהָיִיתha/YITyou wereאֶת־נַעֲרוֹתָיוet-na/a/ro/TAYVwith his maidensהִנֵּה־הוּאhin/NE-hubehold heזֹרֶהzo/REwinnowsאֶת־גֹּרֶןet-GO/renthe threshing floor ofהַשְּׂעֹרִיםhas/se/o/RIMthe barleyהַלָּיְלָה׃hal/LAY/latonight

   And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.

   Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.

   וִיהִיvi/HIand let it beבְשׇׁכְבוֹve/shokh/VOwhen he lies downוְיָדַעַתְּve/ya/DA/attand you shall knowאֶת־הַמָּקוֹםet-ham/ma/KOMthe placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereיִשְׁכַּב־שָׁםyish/KAV-shamhe lies thereוּבָאתu/VATand go inוְגִלִּיתve/gil/LITand uncoverמַרְגְּלֹתָיוmar/ge/lo/TAYVhis feet(ושכבתי)vashakhavatay[וְשָׁכָבְתְּ]ve/sha/KHAVTand lie downוְהוּאve/HUand heיַגִּידyag/GIDwill tellלָךְlakhyouאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatתַּעֲשִׂין׃ta/a/SINyou shall do

   And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.

   וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁר־תֹּאמְרִיa/SHER-to/me/RIthat you say[אֵלַי]e/LAYunto meאֶעֱשֶׂה׃e/e/SEI will do

   And she said unto her, All that thou sayest unto me I will do.

   וַתֵּרֶדvat/TE/redand she went downהַגֹּרֶןhag/GO/rento the threshing floorוַתַּעַשׂvat/TA/asand didכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־צִוַּתָּהa/SHER-tsiv/VAT/tathat bade herחֲמוֹתָהּ׃cha/mo/TAher mother in law

   And she went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.

   וַיֹּאכַלvay/YO/khaland he ateבֹּעַזBO/azBoazוַיֵּשְׁתְּvay/YESHTand drankוַיִּיטַבvay/yi/TAVand was gladלִבּוֹlib/BOhis heartוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he wentלִשְׁכַּבlish/KAVto lie downבִּקְצֵהbik/TSEat the end ofהָעֲרֵמָהha/a/re/MAthe heap of grainוַתָּבֹאvat/ta/VOand she cameבַלָּטval/LATsoftlyוַתְּגַלvat/te/GALand she uncoveredמַרְגְּלֹתָיוmar/ge/lo/TAYVhis feetוַתִּשְׁכָּב׃vat/tish/KAVand she lay down

   And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבַּחֲצִיba/cha/TSIat the half ofהַלַּיְלָהhal/LAY/lathe nightוַיֶּחֱרַדvay/ye/che/RADand was startledהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manוַיִּלָּפֵתvay/yil/la/FETand turned overוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanשֹׁכֶבֶתsho/KHE/vetlayמַרְגְּלֹתָיו׃mar/ge/lo/TAYVat his feet

   And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמִי־אָתְּmi-attwho are youוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amרוּתRutRuthאֲמָתֶךָa/ma/TE/khayour handmaidוּפָרַשְׂתָּu/fa/ras/TAand spreadכְנָפֶךָkhe/na/FE/khayour wingעַל־אֲמָתְךָal-a/ma/te/KHAover your handmaidכִּיkiforגֹאֵלgo/ELa kinsman redeemerאָתָּה׃AT/tayou are

   And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidבְּרוּכָהbe/ru/KHAblessed beאַתְּattyouלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaiof the LORDבִּתִּיbit/TImy daughterהֵיטַבְתְּhe/TAVTyou have made betterחַסְדֵּךְchas/DEKHyour kindnessהָאַחֲרוֹןha/a/cha/RONthe latterמִן־הָרִאשׁוֹןmin-ha/ri/SHONthan the firstלְבִלְתִּי־לֶכֶתle/vil/TI-LE/khetin not goingאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַבַּחוּרִיםhab/ba/chu/RIMthe young menאִם־דַּלim-dalwhether poorוְאִם־עָשִׁיר׃ve/IM-a/SHIRor rich

    And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבִּתִּיbit/TImy daughterאַל־תִּירְאִיal-ti/re/Ifear notכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁר־תֹּאמְרִיa/SHER-to/me/RIthat you sayאֶעֱשֶׂה־לָּךְe/e/SE-lakhI will do for youכִּיkiforיוֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowsכׇּל־שַׁעַרkol-SHA/arall the gate ofעַמִּיam/MImy peopleכִּיkithatאֵשֶׁתE/sheta woman ofחַיִלCHA/yilvirtueאָתְּ׃attare you

    And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowכִּיkiforאׇמְנָםom/NAMverilyכִּיkithat(אם)mגֹאֵלgo/ELa kinsman redeemerאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIam Iוְגַםve/GAMand alsoיֵשׁyeshthere isגֹּאֵלgo/ELa kinsman redeemerקָרוֹבka/ROVnearerמִמֶּנִּי׃mim/MEN/nithan I

    And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.

    לִינִיLI/nilodgeהַלַּיְלָהhal/LAY/latonightוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beבַבֹּקֶרvab/BO/kerin the morningאִם־יִגְאָלֵךְim-yig/a/LEKHif he will redeem youטוֹבtovwellיִגְאָלyig/ALlet him redeemוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notיַחְפֹּץyach/POTShe is willingלְגׇאֳלֵךְle/go/o/LEKHto redeem youוּגְאַלְתִּיךְu/ge/al/TIKHand I will redeem youאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIחַי־יְהֹוָהchay-Adonaias the LORD livesשִׁכְבִיshikh/VIlie downעַד־הַבֹּקֶר׃ad-hab/BO/keruntil the morning

    Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.

    וַתִּשְׁכַּבvat/tish/KAVand she layמַרְגְּלוֹתָוmar/ge/lo/TAVat his feetעַד־הַבֹּקֶרad-hab/BO/keruntil the morningוַתָּקׇםvat/TA/komand she arose[בְּטֶרֶם]be/TE/rembeforeיַכִּירyak/KIRcould recognizeאִישׁishoneאֶת־רֵעֵהוּet-re/E/huanotherוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַל־יִוָּדַעal-yiv/va/DAlet it not be knownכִּי־בָאָהki-VA/athat cameהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanהַגֹּרֶן׃hag/GO/rento the threshing floor

    And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהָבִיha/VIbringהַמִּטְפַּחַתham/mit/PA/chatthe mantleאֲשֶׁר־עָלַיִךְa/SHER-a/LA/yikhthat is on youוְאֶחֳזִי־בָהּve/e/cho/ZI-vaand hold itוַתֹּאחֶזvat/TO/chezand she heldבָּהּbaitוַיָּמׇדvay/YA/modand he measuredשֵׁשׁ־שְׂעֹרִיםshesh-se/o/RIMsix of barleyוַיָּשֶׁתvay/YA/shetand laid itעָלֶיהָa/LE/haon herוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he wentהָעִיר׃ha/IRinto the city

    Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.

16. 16

    וַתָּבוֹאvat/ta/VOand she cameאֶל־חֲמוֹתָהּel-cha/mo/TAto her mother in lawוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidמִי־אַתְּmi-attwho are youבִּתִּיbit/TImy daughterוַתַּגֶּד־לָהּvat/TAG/ged-laand she told herאֵת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁרet-kol-a/SHERall thatעָשָׂה־לָהּa/SA-lahad done for herהָאִישׁ׃ha/ISHthe man

    And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.

    וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidשֵׁשׁ־הַשְּׂעֹרִיםshesh-has/se/o/RIMsix of the barleyהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseנָתַןna/TANhe gaveלִיlimeכִּיkiforאָמַרa/MARhe said[אֵלַי]e/LAYunto meאַל־תָּבוֹאִיal-ta/VO/igo notרֵיקָםre/KAMemptyאֶל־חֲמוֹתֵךְ׃el-cha/mo/TEKHto your mother in law

    And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.

18. 18

    וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidשְׁבִיshe/VIsit stillבִתִּיvit/TImy daughterעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתֵּדְעִיןted/INyou knowאֵיךְekhhowיִפֹּלyip/POLwill fallדָּבָרda/VARthe matterכִּיkiforלֹאlonotיִשְׁקֹטyish/KOTwill restהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manכִּי־אִם־כִּלָּהki-im-kil/LAuntil he has finishedהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingהַיּוֹם׃hay/YOMtoday

    Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
