   A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

   בְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeהָרִיםha/RIMthe mountainsיֻלָּדוּyul/LA/duwere bornוַתְּחוֹלֵלvat/te/CHO/lelor You brought forthאֶרֶץE/retsthe earthוְתֵבֵלve/te/VELand the worldוּמֵעוֹלָםu/me/o/LAMand from everlastingעַד־עוֹלָםad-o/LAMto everlastingאַתָּהat/TAYou areאֵל׃elGod

   Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

   תָּשֵׁבta/SHEVYou turnאֱנוֹשׁe/NOSHmanעַד־דַּכָּאad-dak/KAto dustוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand sayשׁוּבוּSHU/vureturnבְנֵי־אָדָם׃ve/NE-a/DAMyou sons of men

   Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

   כִּיkiforאֶלֶףE/lefa thousandשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsבְּעֵינֶיךָbe/e/NE/khain Your sightכְּיוֹםke/YOMlike the day ofאֶתְמוֹלet/MOLyesterdayכִּיkiwhenיַעֲבֹרya/a/VORit passesוְאַשְׁמוּרָהve/ash/mu/RAand a watchבַלָּיְלָה׃val/LAY/lain the night

   For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

   זְרַמְתָּםze/ram/TAMYou sweep them awayשֵׁנָהshe/NAa sleepיִהְיוּyih/YUthey areבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerin the morningכֶּחָצִירke/cha/TSIRlike grassיַחֲלֹף׃ya/cha/LOFthat sprouts

   Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

   בַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerin the morningיָצִיץya/TSITSit flourishesוְחָלָףve/cha/LAFand sproutsלָעֶרֶבla/E/revin the eveningיְמוֹלֵלye/mo/LELit fadesוְיָבֵשׁ׃ve/ya/VESHand withers

   In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

   כִּי־כָלִינוּki-kha/LI/nufor we are consumedבְאַפֶּךָve/ap/PE/khaby Your angerוּבַחֲמָתְךָu/va/cha/ma/te/KHAand by Your wrathנִבְהָלְנוּ׃niv/HAL/nuwe are terrified

   For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

   שַׁתָּshat/TAYou have setעֲוֺנֹתֵינוּa/vo/no/TE/nuour iniquitiesלְנֶגְדֶּךָle/neg/DE/khabefore Youעֲלֻמֵנוּa/lu/ME/nuour secret sinsלִמְאוֹרlim/ORin the light ofפָּנֶיךָ׃pa/NE/khaYour face

   Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

   כִּיkiforכׇל־יָמֵינוּkhol-ya/ME/nuall our daysפָּנוּpa/NUdeclineבְעֶבְרָתֶךָve/ev/ra/TE/khain Your wrathכִּלִּינוּkil/LI/nuwe finishשָׁנֵינוּsha/NE/nuour yearsכְמוֹ־הֶגֶה׃khe/MO-HE/gelike a sigh

   For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

    יְמֵי־שְׁנוֹתֵינוּye/ME-she/no/TE/nuthe days of our yearsבָהֶםva/HEMin them areשִׁבְעִיםshiv/IMseventyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוְאִםve/IMor ifבִּגְבוּרֹתbig/vu/ROTby strengthשְׁמוֹנִיםshe/mo/NIMeightyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוְרׇהְבָּםve/roh/BAMyet their prideעָמָלa/MALis toilוָאָוֶןva/A/venand troubleכִּי־גָזki-gazfor it passesחִישׁchishquicklyוַנָּעֻפָה׃van/na/U/faand we fly away

    The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

    מִי־יוֹדֵעַmi-yo/DE/awho knowsעֹזozthe power ofאַפֶּךָap/PE/khaYour angerוּכְיִרְאָתְךָu/khe/yir/a/te/KHAand as the fear of Youעֶבְרָתֶךָ׃ev/ra/TE/khais Your wrath

    Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.

12. 12

    לִמְנוֹתlim/NOTto numberיָמֵינוּya/ME/nuour daysכֵּןkensoהוֹדַעho/DAteachוְנָבִאve/na/VIthat we may bringלְבַבle/VAVa heart ofחׇכְמָה׃chokh/MAwisdom

    So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

13. 13

    שׁוּבָהshu/VAreturnיְהֹוָהAdonaiO LORDעַד־מָתָיad-ma/TAYhow longוְהִנָּחֵםve/hin/na/CHEMand have compassionעַל־עֲבָדֶיךָ׃al-a/va/DE/khaconcerning Your servants

    Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

14. 14

    שַׂבְּעֵנוּsab/be/E/nusatisfy usבַבֹּקֶרvab/BO/kerin the morningחַסְדֶּךָchas/DE/khawith Your kindnessוּנְרַנְּנָהu/ne/ran/ne/NAthat we may rejoiceוְנִשְׂמְחָהve/nis/me/CHAand be gladבְּכׇל־יָמֵינוּ׃be/KHOL-ya/ME/nuin all our days

    O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15. 15

    שַׂמְּחֵנוּsam/me/che/NUmake us gladכִּימוֹתki/MOTas the daysעִנִּיתָנוּin/ni/TA/nuYou afflicted usשְׁנוֹתshe/NOTthe yearsרָאִינוּra/I/nuwe have seenרָעָה׃ra/Aevil

    Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

16. 16

    יֵרָאֶהye/ra/Elet appearאֶל־עֲבָדֶיךָel-a/va/DE/khato Your servantsפׇעֳלֶךָfo/o/LE/khaYour workוַהֲדָרְךָva/ha/da/re/KHAand Your gloryעַל־בְּנֵיהֶם׃al-be/ne/HEMupon their children

    Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.

17. 17

    וִיהִיvi/HIand let beנֹעַםNO/amthe favor ofאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuupon usוּמַעֲשֵׂהu/ma/a/SEand the work ofיָדֵינוּya/DE/nuour handsכּוֹנְנָהkon/NAestablishעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuupon usוּמַעֲשֵׂהu/ma/a/SEand the work ofיָדֵינוּya/DE/nuour handsכּוֹנְנֵהוּ׃kon/NE/huestablish it

    And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
