Psalms 9 תְּהִלִּים פרק ט׳

1. 1

   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianעַל־מוּתupon Muth-לַבֵּןlabbenמִזְמוֹרa psalmלְדָוִד׃of David

   To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David.

2. 2

   אוֹדֶהI will praiseיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּכׇל־לִבִּיwith my whole heartאֲסַפְּרָהI will tell ofכׇּל־נִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ׃all Your wondrous works

   I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

3. 3

   אֶשְׂמְחָהI will rejoiceוְאֶעֶלְצָהand I will exultבָךְin YouאֲזַמְּרָהI will sing praises toשִׁמְךָYour nameעֶלְיוֹן׃Most High

   I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

4. 4

   בְּשׁוּב־אוֹיְבַיwhen my enemies are turnedאָחוֹרbackיִכָּשְׁלוּthey shall fallוְיֹאבְדוּand perishמִפָּנֶיךָ׃from Your presence

   When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.

   כִּי־עָשִׂיתָfor You have maintainedמִשְׁפָּטִיmy vindicationוְדִינִיand my causeיָשַׁבְתָּYou satלְכִסֵּאon the throneשׁוֹפֵטjudgingצֶדֶק׃righteously

   For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.

6. 6

   גָּעַרְתָּYou have rebukedגוֹיִםnationsאִבַּדְתָּYou have destroyedרָשָׁעwickedשְׁמָםtheir nameמָחִיתָYou have blotted outלְעוֹלָםforeverוָעֶד׃and ever

   Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

7. 7

   הָאוֹיֵבthe enemyתַּמּוּare come to an endחֳרָבוֹתin ruinsלָנֶצַחperpetualוְעָרִיםand citiesנָתַשְׁתָּYou have plucked upאָבַדis perishedזִכְרָםtheir memoryהֵמָּה׃even they

   O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.

8. 8

   וַיהֹוָהand the LORDלְעוֹלָםforeverיֵשֵׁבshall endureכּוֹנֵןHe has preparedלַמִּשְׁפָּטto the judgmentכִּסְאוֹ׃His throne

   But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

9. 9

   וְהוּאand Heיִשְׁפֹּט־תֵּבֵלshall judge the worldבְּצֶדֶקin righteousnessיָדִיןshall judgeלְאֻמִּיםpeoplesבְּמֵישָׁרִים׃with equity

   And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

10. 10

    וִיהִיand may beיְהֹוָהthe LORDמִשְׂגָּבa refugeלַדָּךְfor the oppressedמִשְׂגָּבa refugeלְעִתּוֹתin times ofבַּצָּרָה׃the trouble

    The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

11. 11

    וְיִבְטְחוּso they may trustבְךָin Youיוֹדְעֵיthose who knowשְׁמֶךָYour nameכִּיforלֹא־עָזַבְתָּnot You have forsakenדֹרְשֶׁיךָthose who seek Youיְהֹוָה׃the LORD

    And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

12. 12

    זַמְּרוּsingלַיהֹוָהto the LORDיֹשֵׁבwho dwells inצִיּוֹןZionהַגִּידוּdeclareבָעַמִּיםamong the peoplesעֲלִילוֹתָיו׃His deeds

    Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

13. 13

    כִּי־דֹרֵשׁfor He avengesדָּמִיםbloodאוֹתָםthemזָכָרHe remembers themלֹא־שָׁכַחHe does not forgetצַעֲקַתthe cry of(עניים)[עֲנָוִים]׃the humble

    When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

14. 14

    חָנְנֵנִיhave mercy on meיְהֹוָהthe LORDרְאֵהbeholdעׇנְיִיmy afflictionמִשֹּׂנְאָיfrom those who hate meמְרוֹמְמִיYou who lift me upמִשַּׁעֲרֵיfrom the gates ofמָוֶת׃death

    Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:

15. 15

    לְמַעַןin order thatאֲסַפְּרָהI will tell ofכׇּל־תְּהִלָּתֶיךָall your praisesבְּשַׁעֲרֵיin the gates ofבַת־צִיּוֹןthe daughter of ZionאָגִילָהI will rejoiceבִּישׁוּעָתֶךָ׃in Your salvation

    That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.

16. 16

    טָבְעוּhave sunk downגוֹיִםnationsבְּשַׁחַתin the pitעָשׂוּthat they have madeבְּרֶשֶׁת־זוּin the net whichטָמָנוּthey hidנִלְכְּדָהis caughtרַגְלָם׃their own foot

    The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

17. 17

    נוֹדַעis knownיְהֹוָהthe LORDמִשְׁפָּטby the judgmentעָשָׂהwhich He executesבְּפֹעַלin the work ofכַּפָּיוhis own handsנוֹקֵשׁis snaredרָשָׁעwickedהִגָּיוֹןHiggaionסֶלָה׃Selah

    The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

18. 18

    יָשׁוּבוּshall be turnedרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedלִשְׁאוֹלָהto Sheolכׇּל־גּוֹיִםall nationsשְׁכֵחֵיthat forgetאֱלֹהִים׃God

    The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

19. 19

    כִּיforלֹאnotלָנֶצַחforeverיִשָּׁכַחshall be forgottenאֶבְיוֹןthe needyתִּקְוַתthe hope of(ענוים)[עֲנִיִּים]the poorתֹּאבַדshall perishלָעַד׃forever

    For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.

20. 20

    קוּמָהariseיְהֹוָהthe LORDאַל־יָעֹזdo not let prevailאֱנוֹשׁmanיִשָּׁפְטוּlet be judgedגוֹיִםnationsעַל־פָּנֶיךָ׃before You

    Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.

21. 21

    שִׁיתָהputיְהֹוָהthe LORDמוֹרָהfearלָהֶםto themיֵדְעוּknowגוֹיִםnationsאֱנוֹשׁmanהֵמָּהthey areסֶּלָה׃Selah

    Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
