   מִזְמוֹרa psalmלְאָסָףof AsaphאֱלֹהִיםGodנִצָּבstandsבַּעֲדַת־אֵלin the congregation of Godבְּקֶרֶבin the midst ofאֱלֹהִיםGodיִשְׁפֹּט׃He judges

   A Psalm of Asaph. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

   עַד־מָתַיhow longתִּשְׁפְּטוּ־עָוֶלwill you judge unjustlyוּפְנֵיand the persons ofרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedתִּשְׂאוּ־סֶלָה׃will you favor Selah

   How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

   שִׁפְטוּ־דַלdefend the poorוְיָתוֹםand the fatherlessעָנִיthe afflictedוָרָשׁand needyהַצְדִּיקוּ׃do justice to

   Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

   פַּלְּטוּ־דַלdeliver the poorוְאֶבְיוֹןand needyמִיַּדfrom the hand ofרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedהַצִּילוּ׃deliver them

   Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

   לֹאnotיָדְעוּdo they knowוְלֹאand notיָבִינוּdo they understandבַּחֲשֵׁכָהin darknessיִתְהַלָּכוּthey walk aboutיִמּוֹטוּare out of courseכׇּל־מוֹסְדֵיall the foundations ofאָרֶץ׃the earth

   They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

   אֲנִי־אָמַרְתִּיI saidאֱלֹהִיםgodsאַתֶּםyou areוּבְנֵיand sons ofעֶלְיוֹןthe Most Highכֻּלְּכֶם׃all of you

   I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

   אָכֵןsurelyכְּאָדָםlike menתְּמוּתוּןyou shall dieוּכְאַחַדand like one ofהַשָּׂרִיםthe princesתִּפֹּלוּ׃you shall fall

   But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

8. 8

   קוּמָהariseאֱלֹהִיםO Godשׇׁפְטָהjudgeהָאָרֶץthe earthכִּי־אַתָּהfor Youתִנְחַלshall inheritבְּכׇל־הַגּוֹיִם׃all the nations

   Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
