   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianעַל־[יְדוּתוּן]upon Jeduthun(ידיתון)לְאָסָףof Asaphמִזְמוֹר׃a psalm

   To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of Asaph.

2. 2

   קוֹלִיmy voiceאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםunto Godוְאֶצְעָקָהand I criedקוֹלִיmy voiceאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםunto Godוְהַאֲזִיןand He gave earאֵלָי׃to me

   I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

   בְּיוֹםin the day ofצָרָתִיmy troubleאֲדֹנָיthe LordדָּרָשְׁתִּיI soughtיָדִיmy handלַיְלָהin the nightנִגְּרָהwas stretched outוְלֹאand notתָפוּגit did not slackenמֵאֲנָהrefusedהִנָּחֵםto be comfortedנַפְשִׁי׃my soul

   In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.

   אֶזְכְּרָהI rememberedאֱלֹהִיםGodוְאֶהֱמָיָהand was troubledאָשִׂיחָהI musedוְתִתְעַטֵּףand faintedרוּחִיmy spiritסֶלָה׃Selah

   I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

   אָחַזְתָּYou holdשְׁמֻרוֹתthe eyelids ofעֵינָיmy eyesנִפְעַמְתִּיI am so troubledוְלֹאand notאֲדַבֵּר׃can I speak

   Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

   חִשַּׁבְתִּיI have consideredיָמִיםthe daysמִקֶּדֶםof oldשְׁנוֹתthe years ofעוֹלָמִים׃ancient times

   I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.

7. 7

   אֶזְכְּרָהI call to remembranceנְגִינָתִיmy songבַּלָּיְלָהin the nightעִם־לְבָבִיwith my heartאָשִׂיחָהI museוַיְחַפֵּשׂand searches diligentlyרוּחִי׃my spirit

   I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.

8. 8

   הַלְעוֹלָמִיםwill foreverיִזְנַחcast offאֲדֹנָיthe Lordוְלֹא־יֹסִיףand will He no moreלִרְצוֹתbe favorableעוֹד׃any more

   Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?

9. 9

   הֶאָפֵסhas ceasedלָנֶצַחforeverחַסְדּוֹHis mercyגָּמַרhas failedאֹמֶרHis promiseלְדֹרfrom generationוָדֹר׃to generation

   Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?

10. 10

    הֲשָׁכַחhas forgottenחַנּוֹתto be graciousאֵלGodאִם־קָפַץor has He shut upבְּאַףin angerרַחֲמָיוHis tender merciesסֶלָה׃Selah

    Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

11. 11

    וָאֹמַרand I saidחַלּוֹתִיmy infirmityהִיאthis isשְׁנוֹתthe years ofיְמִיןof the right hand ofעֶלְיוֹן׃the Most High

    And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

12. 12

    (אזכיר)[אֶזְכּוֹר]I will rememberמַעַלְלֵי־יָהּthe deeds of the LORDכִּי־אֶזְכְּרָהbecause I will rememberמִקֶּדֶםof oldפִּלְאֶךָ׃Your wonders

    I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

13. 13

    וְהָגִיתִיand I will meditateבְכׇל־פׇּעֳלֶךָon all Your workוּבַעֲלִילוֹתֶיךָand on Your doingsאָשִׂיחָה׃I muse

    I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

14. 14

    אֱלֹהִיםO Godבַּקֹּדֶשׁin the sanctuaryדַּרְכֶּךָYour way isמִי־אֵלwho is a godגָּדוֹלso greatכֵּאלֹהִים׃as our God

    Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?

15. 15

    אַתָּהYou areהָאֵלthe Godעֹשֵׂהwho doesפֶלֶאwondersהוֹדַעְתָּYou have made knownבָעַמִּיםamong the peoplesעֻזֶּךָ׃Your strength

    Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

16. 16

    גָּאַלְתָּYou have redeemedבִּזְרוֹעַwith Your armעַמֶּךָYour peopleבְּנֵי־יַעֲקֹבsons of Jacobוְיוֹסֵףand Josephסֶלָה׃Selah

    Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

17. 17

    רָאוּךָsaw Youמַּיִםthe watersאֱלֹהִיםO Godרָאוּךָsaw Youמַּיִםthe watersיָחִילוּthey were afraidאַףyeaיִרְגְּזוּthey trembledתְהֹמוֹת׃the deeps

    The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.

18. 18

    זֹרְמוּpoured outמַיִםwaterעָבוֹתthe cloudsקוֹלthe voice ofנָתְנוּsent outשְׁחָקִיםthe skiesאַף־חֲצָצֶיךָYour arrows alsoיִתְהַלָּכוּ׃went abroad

    The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.

19. 19

    קוֹלthe voice ofרַעַמְךָYour thunderבַּגַּלְגַּלwas in the whirlwindהֵאִירוּlightenedבְרָקִיםthe lightningsתֵּבֵלthe worldרָגְזָהtrembledוַתִּרְעַשׁand shookהָאָרֶץ׃the earth

    The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.

20. 20

    בַּיָּםin the seaדַּרְכֶּךָYour way was[וּשְׁבִילְךָ]and Your pathבְּמַיִםin the watersרַבִּיםmanyוְעִקְּבוֹתֶיךָand Your footstepsלֹאnotנֹדָעוּ׃were known

    Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

21. 21

    נָחִיתָYou ledכַצֹּאןlike the flockעַמֶּךָYour peopleבְּיַד־מֹשֶׁהin the hand of Mosesוְאַהֲרֹן׃and Aaron

    Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
