   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianבִּנְגִינֹתwith stringed instrumentsמִזְמוֹרa psalmלְאָסָףof Asaphשִׁיר׃a song

   To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph.

2. 2

   נוֹדָעis knownבִּיהוּדָהin JudahאֱלֹהִיםGodבְּיִשְׂרָאֵלin Israelגָּדוֹלgreat isשְׁמוֹ׃His name

   In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

3. 3

   וַיְהִיand isבְשָׁלֵםin SalemסוּכּוֹHis tabernacleוּמְעוֹנָתוֹand His dwelling placeבְצִיּוֹן׃in Zion

   In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

   שָׁמָּהthereשִׁבַּרHe brokeרִשְׁפֵי־קָשֶׁתthe arrows of the bowמָגֵןthe shieldוְחֶרֶבand the swordוּמִלְחָמָהand the battleסֶלָה׃Selah

   There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

   נָאוֹרresplendentאַתָּהYou areאַדִּירmajesticמֵהַרְרֵי־טָרֶף׃from the mountains of prey

   Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

   אֶשְׁתּוֹלְלוּare strippedאַבִּירֵיthe stout ofלֵבheartנָמוּthey have sleptשְׁנָתָםtheir sleepוְלֹא־מָצְאוּand none have foundכׇל־אַנְשֵׁי־חַיִלall the men of mightיְדֵיהֶם׃their hands

   The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.

   מִגַּעֲרָתְךָat Your rebukeאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofיַעֲקֹבJacobנִרְדָּםare cast into a dead sleepוְרֶכֶבboth chariotוָסוּס׃and horse

   At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

   אַתָּהYouנוֹרָאare to be fearedאַתָּהYouוּמִי־יַעֲמֹדand who may standלְפָנֶיךָbefore Youמֵאָזwhen onceאַפֶּךָ׃You are angry

   Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

   מִשָּׁמַיִםfrom heavenהִשְׁמַעְתָּYou caused to be heardדִּיןjudgmentאֶרֶץthe earthיָרְאָהfearedוְשָׁקָטָה׃and was still

   Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

    בְּקוּם־לַמִּשְׁפָּטwhen arose to judgmentאֱלֹהִיםGodלְהוֹשִׁיעַto saveכׇּל־עַנְוֵי־אֶרֶץall the meek of the earthסֶלָה׃Selah

    When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

11. 11

    כִּי־חֲמַתsurely the wrath ofאָדָםmanתּוֹדֶךָּshall praise Youשְׁאֵרִיתthe remainder ofחֵמֹתwrathתַּחְגֹּר׃You will gird on

    Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

    נִדְרוּvowוְשַׁלְּמוּand payלַיהֹוָהto the LORDאֱלֹהֵיכֶםyour Godכׇּל־סְבִיבָיוlet all who are round about Himיֹבִילוּbringשַׁיgiftsלַמּוֹרָא׃to Him who ought to be feared

    Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

13. 13

    יִבְצֹרHe cuts offרוּחַthe spirit ofנְגִידִיםprincesנוֹרָאHe is terribleלְמַלְכֵי־אָרֶץ׃to the kings of the earth

    He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
