   לַמְנַצֵּחַto the chief musicianאַל־תַּשְׁחֵתAl-tashhethמִזְמוֹרa psalmלְאָסָףof Asaphשִׁיר׃a song

   To the chief Musician, Al-taschith, A Psalm or Song of Asaph.

2. 2

   הוֹדִינוּwe give thanksלְּךָto YouאֱלֹהִיםO Godהוֹדִינוּwe give thanksוְקָרוֹבand near isשְׁמֶךָYour nameסִפְּרוּmen tell ofנִפְלְאוֹתֶיךָ׃Your marvelous works

   Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

   כִּיbecauseאֶקַּחI shall seizeמוֹעֵדthe appointed timeאֲנִיIמֵישָׁרִיםwith equityאֶשְׁפֹּט׃will judge

   When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.

   נְמֹגִיםare dissolvedאֶרֶץthe earthוְכׇל־יֹשְׁבֶיהָand all its inhabitantsאָנֹכִיit is I whoתִכַּנְתִּיbear upעַמּוּדֶיהָits pillarsסֶּלָה׃Selah

   The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

   אָמַרְתִּיI saidלַהוֹלְלִיםto the arrogantאַל־תָּהֹלּוּboast notוְלָרְשָׁעִיםand to the wickedאַל־תָּרִימוּlift not upקָרֶן׃the horn

   I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

   אַל־תָּרִימוּlift not upלַמָּרוֹםon highקַרְנְכֶםyour hornתְּדַבְּרוּspeak notבְצַוָּארwith a stiff neckעָתָק׃arrogantly

   Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

7. 7

   כִּיforלֹאnotמִמּוֹצָאfrom the eastוּמִמַּעֲרָבnor from the westוְלֹאand notמִמִּדְבַּרfrom the wildernessהָרִים׃comes lifting up

   For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

8. 8

   כִּי־אֱלֹהִיםbecause Godשֹׁפֵטis judgeזֶהoneיַשְׁפִּילHe puts downוְזֶהand anotherיָרִים׃He lifts up

   But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

9. 9

   כִּיforכוֹסa cup isבְּיַד־יְהֹוָהin the hand of the LORDוְיַיִןand the wineחָמַרfoamsמָלֵאit is full ofמֶסֶךְmixtureוַיַּגֵּרand He pours outמִזֶּהfrom thisאַךְ־שְׁמָרֶיהָbut its dregsיִמְצוּshall drainיִשְׁתּוּshall drink themכֹּלallרִשְׁעֵי־אָרֶץ׃the wicked people of the earth

   For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

10. 10

    וַאֲנִיand Iאַגִּידwill declareלְעֹלָםfor everאֲזַמְּרָהI will sing praises toלֵאלֹהֵיto the God ofיַעֲקֹב׃Jacob

    But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

11. 11

    וְכׇל־קַרְנֵיand all the horns ofרְשָׁעִיםthe wickedאֲגַדֵּעַwill I cut offתְּרוֹמַמְנָהshall be lifted upקַרְנוֹתthe horns ofצַדִּיק׃the righteous

    All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
